Took close to an hour to get our food. When the food finally came out, it was cold. Chicken and steak were dry. Overpriced mediocre food. When we spoke to the owner, he was very rude and defensive. He told us that “this is not McDonalds.” Well sir, we would have been better off eating at McDonald’s! I’ve never encountered anything like this before. I do not recommend this restaurant.

We waited over 50 minutes for our food to come. None of it was hot. The steak which was ordered as medium rare was pink inside like it should be, but it was dry.
The owner was not apologetic. He said we were “hard to please”. He also said that they weren’t McDonalds. We would have gotten better service and a more pleasant attitude there. The place was not crowded. A party of four were sitting at the bar and the owner explained that’s why our food was taking so long because the chef was preparing their meal.

We chose The Boulevard for our 35th wedding Anniversary. I love the casual/unpretentious atmosphere. The food is fantastic. I had the Salmon bowl. The salmon is generously sized, and comes with wild rice and asparagus. I don’t think I’ve ever had a more delicious piece of salmon. My Husband had the baked Walleye fillet. It was cooked to perfection. Just delicious. Even the steamed veggies were cooked to perfection and delicious. The Boulevard has become my new favorite restaurant.

My wife just got back from a girls weekend with her sisters. She felt pretty uncomfortable about being yelled at by the owner to be quiet. People are on vacation, they have drinks, the volume goes up, you own bar - be a little more professional! We will be hanging down at Bernie’s just down the street next time.

We have been coming to Hayward for 20 years and this was seriously the best chicken bowl that I’ve ever had and hands-down the best kids food. The fresh vegetables, including baked potato was magnificent and the mac & cheese was hands-down the best bar food mac & cheese ever. Service was also excellent. We will actually already be coming back here tomorrow again to eat ! Can’t get enough

I was hungry for a great steak. This is the place to go. The best ribeye around. My husband had the Alfredo scallops. The size of the scallops were huge and plentiful and delicious. Well worth the money. Bob and Jill are so welcoming.

I was there last night with my fiance. I was so incredibly happy that there was options for good, clean food. Not just fried food that is all over near Hayward.
My fiance had the ribeye and I had a bowl. We were both so happy with our meals.
The staff and owners we so genuinely friendly and made us feel so welcome!
We will definitely be back!

Not impressed. Reading the past reviews I noticed the owner or whomever responded to a negative review very similar to mine saying to the person
"looks like you are too good for us as the plastic bag of salad dressing bothers you" what business owner writes this? Get some business and customer relation courses at a local collage is my advise to you. I'm going to tell you that yes you are in the rustic north woods but if you're going to charge prices like a big city then act like it at least with your presentation. If now another person complained about the plastic salad dressing maybe change it??? There are also several other reviews saying the food is not good hummmm maybe change that? More reviews like this and you're closing your doors so learn something from this. I'm a small business owner and If I responded to my clients like this I would be out of business long time ago.

I'm going to start with the positives: Only one, my husband's steak was very good. Walked in, it's a bar with some tables so when you walk in everyone that is sitting at the bar turns around. We paid $100.00 and tipped $20.00 so total $120.00.
My husband ordered a drink it was watered down, steak (very good) rice was very mediocre, bun like 1 bun not a basket of bread 1 bun, soup was not good. I ordered Nut Crusted Walleye very bland, the waitress said I get steamed vegetables ( I got soggy broccoli that was falling apart) the best is the salad lol: The salad comes like from a bag from a store in a plastic bowl with a packet of dressing (could have been touched without gloves, dropped on the floor) shoved inside the bowl). We had our water served in plastic cups. I'm sorry but for $100.00 please have some presentation at least and not to mention better tasting food. We went to Shell Lake and paid $37.00 for dinner that had flavor and yes the restaurant had plastic glasses but the food was great. We were very disappointed.

Responding to the owner's response: My review was my perception and obviously the perception of other people from what I see here. The review was not only about the plastic packet of dressing thrown in the middle of the bagged salad from the store in some plastic bowl it was about the bland food, the quality of food, the soggy vegetable, your non existent presentation and about your terrible response to your clients.
You have some type of attitude problem, you say sorry but come back with some narcissistic come back. btw the covid restrictions have been over for years.

This is definitely on our list of places too and from the cabin. Highly recommend (and salad dressing packets do not bother me one iota). You won’t regret it

Had the best salmon bowl!! The salmon was tender, flavorful and delicious! My husband had a tenderloin steak that was excellent! The steak was done to perfection with a charcoal grilled taste. Owner and staff were great and very informative! Their recommendations were right on! Went back again and husband had the ribs!! They too were awesome!! Will continue to visit!

Decided on your Resturant after viewing the menu on line, we were anticipating a fine dining experience. Sadly we were very disappointed, the salad arrived with a packet of dressing on the top. My son and husband each had an Alfredo dish one with shrimp one chicken. Both were very bland and flavorless. Honestly the prices didn’t equate to the meal that was served.
Wish we would have gone past reading the menu and read other reviews as they are similar to our experience.

Talk about over priced for what you get! Read the other reviews before you dine, 5 stars only come from people having a drink and an appetizer. Yet the owner likes to comment and belittle people on their opinion and tell them how they are wrong and their taste buds are off. Ridiculous!! To start the salad came out with a cheap-o dressing packet. The owner stated its cost effective. Not sure why that’s an issue with the cost of the meals, maybe cause they don’t have return customers. The Alfredo was a joke. Steamed shrimp, no flavor, sauce was gravy like with no flavor. I asked for the meal to be taken off my tab and I was berated by the old woman there as she listed the ingredients off in the sauce as she assured me I couldn’t be correct in my review. She reluctantly took the dish off the tab. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Had dinner here last night with 12 friends. This is a northwoods ambiance place. I had the salmon which was cooked exactly the way I like it…. Medium rare. The accompaniments (potato and salad) were also good. The wine was excellent and they have a wine selection on site. Jill our hostess was great and took good care of us. We’ll be back!

The walmart boys were looking for an amazing steak dinner, after we worked up there, the lady at the holiday Inn express directed us there and it was probably the best ribeye I've ever had certainly can't wait to work in that area again to go back and get another one!

Stopped in this place to try dinner, we wanted a meal and not just burgers/fries. Ordered the pork chops and half rack of ribs. The pork chops was incredible, and they cooked it exactly as requested. The ribs were tasty and were fall off the bone tender, however my personal preference is more of a grilled/char rib (I still ordered them knowing they were oven baked, not grilled, because they sounded good.. however next time I will go for what I like and try something grilled). Service was quick and friendly, I believe it was maybe the owner/manager who shopped by as well to check on us. Don't let the little bit of a dive bar feel fool ya... the menu is top notch and not bar food!

If I am charged high end prices I don’t want my salad dressing in a packet thrown on top my salad. Chicken Alfredo was not made to order sauce and tasted like old gravy leftover from Sunday dinner. The chicken was from frozen and appeared to have been boiled not grilled. I did let them know and they offered something else . They did disagree with me and reminded me the y get five star reviews! When the gal said she tasted the sauce yesterday she totally gave it away! You don’t make 5 star Alfred sauce the day before! I know because I was taught by a chef how to make it and he was 5star!!! I'm up in a friend's cabin just for the weekend. Didn't want to cook for just 1 person. Call the boulevard told them. I wanted to do a to go order.. when I told them It was for just one person, he said. Hang on a second, came back and said. I'm sorry, it'll be 45 minutes to an hour for to go order. And I said is that just because of what I ordered? Or because it was for one person, and he said. Because it's for one person, we have a ton of tickets, how rude!!!!! Absolutely incredible sandwiches! I got the pesto chicken panini and the chicken was the some of most fresh, moist chicken I’ve ever had on a sandwich at a restaurant. There was no fat or toughness; it melted in my mouth! Very friendly customer service as well. We will be back!

We met the friendly owners Bob and his wife. The restaurant was very clean and had a large screen TV. We stopped by while taking in fall colors. We ordered the spinach artichoke appetizer and had a beer. The dip was very good, we look forward to our next visit for dinner!

In town for a short assignment for work and was searching for somewhere to grab a good, somewhat healthy breakfast... When my wife and I arrived there was a very large group that had just ordered prior.

Our bartenders (who I am assuming are the owners) let us know there may be a little wait. We had waited less than 30 minutes to get our food, and yet, they were still very apologetic it took that long. So much so, that they gave us our second drink for free.

Blown away by the customer service we received. It is awesome to see that despite difficulties with staffing, they were still so attentive and friendly and held their establishment to a very high standard. You can tell they have established a record of good service as they were greeting customers by name, dishing out hugs, and creating a welcoming environment.

This is a very nice and peaceful part of the lac courte orielles reservation. Located here are a few places you may stop and visit if you are passing through. There is a beach you can go to I believe you can also launch boats there. I still don't remember all the roads that are here.

Disappointed in the food, pasta was mushy and sauce tasted like it was from a jar. $50 for a steak? Went back for lunch, the chicken and dumpling soup was good, sadly served in a paper cup. The panini (turkey avocado bacon club) was terrible. Not sure they should call it a panini, thin flatbread and packaged lunch meat, and they forgot the avocado) Macaroni and cheese was from a box. They now have a chef and a dinner menu that is amazing. Had the (fall off the bone) ribs which were excellent. Also have had the Nut Crusted Walleye twice. All dinners are served with a salad, veggies and a roll, so worth it.
Also have had their coffee, breakfast and lunch. It’s a great spot to stop and grab a quick breakfast or relax and have some lunch. Just keep in mind the new Dinner menu is served Thurs-Monday’s. First time we went for their new dinner menu it was on a Wednesday. So bummed but we still enjoyed a Pesto Chicken Panini. Great atmosphere. Owner Bob and his staff are very welcoming and attentive. This place is a must.
