Edit: So sad that it looks like they may be gone for good after a tragic fire. This place was so amazing and I will remember it fondly. I wish good luck to the owner no matter what path they choose.
The food here is always fantastic. The service is great. The restaurant is small though, so there is often a wait. If you have a large group or are going during a busy time (Sunday brunch or Friday/Saturday evening) you should consider a reservation.

Was hungry for a fish fry and was really happy with it. Discovered some of the best clam chowder made in house. Told my server how much I loved it and she brought me a serving to go! I've had really good breakfast here and suppers too.

Stopped by here one weekend after a wedding up in Wisconsin. Unfortunately they are now only open for brunch. I was hoping to get those crab legs that I saw from other people's posts. Oh well. Hoping they'd bring it back. So this review just refers to the breakfast. I had the home made corned beef hash and it was good. Big portion, farm fresh eggs, crisp potatoes and sourdough toasts. Had a good strawberry jam too. Paired well with the bacon bloody Mary. That was definitely the highlight. They didn't have the decked out bloody Mary at that time either. The inside has a mix of booths and tables. Not too packed. Parking is easy in the parking lot. Overall I'd say a good place to stop by for breakfast.

Hostess barely looked at us when she greeted/spoke to us. They had tables available, but told us it was a 25 minute wait for them. We asked to sit at the bar, for drinks and food. We sat, bartender disappeared. We got up and left. Seems like great service for the “regulars”. Good luck if you’re new here.

Absolutely amazing food. The Schnitzel was so good, authentic tasting. The ambiance was excellent too. Unfortunately, the server was terrible. Checked on us once and when I asked for another drink, it took 10 minutes and we were already finished eating after she forgot. Not very cordial either, when it comes to customer service. First off the food was good, everybody was happy with their meals. My issue is the drinks. This is classified as a German Restaurant so you'd think they'd have a decent selection of German Beer. They did not, only 2 I believe were actually from Germany. When you walk in you see the bar area and it's more set up for mixed drinks. Was pretty disappointed in that.

I waited until our second time coming here to rate it. The first time they were fairly busy and my wife and I sat at the bar. It took a while to get acknowledged and even longer to get a menu and drink order. At least 10 minutes. We just kind of felt invisible. We eventually got our drinks and took quite a while again to order food. The food was delicious and when we did interact with employees they were friendly.

The second time, only one other person at the bar. Not busy at all. Someone wiped the bar when we sat down and left. We sat for at least 5 minutes without acknowledgement with employees coming and going. An employee finally asked if we’d like menus and we said yes. Another 5+ minutes and no service. While someone was making bloodies right in front of us without saying anything to us still, we said we’d like one too when they get a minute. They said ok and left with those bloodies. Another 5+ minutes and an employee was chatting with the other person at the bar for a few minutes without saying anything to us and finally we got up and left because for 15ish minutes all we go were menus. It’s unfortunate because we did enjoy the food. It’ll be tough to give them a 3rd try. If we do maybe we’ll sit at a table and see if we can get service there.

My friends brought me here for breakfast/lunch. I can't believe I didn't come here sooner after living only 2 miles away for 5 years. I had the bacon bacon bacon breakfast. They weren't kidding. Very generous with bacon and probably the best bacon I have had anywhere. The entire breakfast was top notch. The waitress was on the ball. Great experience. I'll be back.

We visited the Braising Pan for lunch and it was overall excellent. It was very crowded (two large parties came in right after us) but the waitresses were still friendly and attentive.

We ordered the biscuits and gravy and the schnitzwich with a side of chicken and dumpling soup. The biscuits and gravy were by far the best - the biscuits were light and fluffy, the gravy was delicious, and there was a perfect biscuit:gravy ratio. The schnitzwich was pretty good and crispy. The lemon aoili was very flavorful. The soup wasn't out of this world but it was pretty good.

If we go back, we'd like to try the Reuben and the Challah fench toast.

This was the second time eating here. Today i had the fettuccine alfredo and it was so creamy and flavorful. Last time i had the brew house burger and it was delicious. The next day i was craving the amazing beer cheese sauce that was on the burger. The german potato salad was THE BEST i have ever had. WORST service I have ever had. Our first time trying this place will be our last. Both my pregnant gf and I had to get up to get drinks. Waitress was visibly annoyed by me asking for no onions or mushrooms on a skillet. Asked if we needed anything towards the end of the meal and I said “another mimosa” she turned away and said “ok good” and didn’t even hear me say I needed another drink. Took everything in me to leave a tip probably mostly because society tells me if I don’t tip I can’t afford it. But honestly I should have tipped my gf because she gave us better service than this waitress. Also no one else that we encountered was very pleasant from the hostess to the bartender. Food was mediocre (burnt toast). drinks were good.

Talk about service! Our server had the best attitude and smile the entire time we were there, from the moment we sat down until the moment they closed and my husband was still crunching crab shells. We had gotten the Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese for our appetizer.. it was to die for. The BIGGEST pretzel I have ever seen, soft and perfectly salted. For our meals, my husband got the 2lb crab leg dinner. I dont eat seafood but I have never seen that much crab meat before. I got the bourban chicken sandwich, me had being a vegetarian for a huge part of my life and just recently eating meat again, did not like the sandwhich... I dont like my meat to taste like meat. But the chicken was well cooked and the bourbon sauce on the chicken was delicious. Thank you Braising Pan for a perfect dinner experience!

Great food and service! This was our family's go-to restaurant when we lived in West Bend. We have moved away 5 years ago and still talk about coming here. We were in the area so we definitely made it a priority to stop in. I remember giving the suggestion of a bloody mary bar and they've made it happen. I use to love this place, but in the last 6 months something has drastically changed...(and please don't use COVID as an excuse...its all about managing your business properly) I always tried to get to the restaurant about every 10-14 days or so but in the last 4 months I have been disappointed 5 times...I normally order the Salmon Bacon dish....out of the last 6 times I had one good experience. The other 5 times bad experiences which included 1) Show up during normal hours to find the place closed not to mention no indication of closure on their website....If I lived around the corner might be a little forgiving but driving 45 minutes to find the place closed for no reason. This happened multiple times (at least 3 times in the last couple of months (recommend calling just to see if they are open) 2) Another time it took for ever to get served both taking the order and serving the food....the waitress said...Oh sorry we were having an employee meeting (what?) 3) Another time I sit down to only find that the restaurant decided to only serve breakfast that evening...ok decided to try a breakfast item....nope would not come back for breakfast 4) Two of the times the waitress was more in a hurry than to actually perform good service...twice no coffee refills...

I think you get the gist of it...something has drastically changed...if the negative changes are due to staffing issues then close the restaurant permanently for an additional day, note it on your website and perform great service on the remaining days...otherwise some serious sole searching needs to occur from the owners as to whether they want a great restaurant or just a middle of the road restaurant....what is really sad is that I always talked about this restaurant and did love coming for the Salmon.

Visiting the area and wanted some German food. We were not disappointed! Schnitzel and smelt were wonderful. Sides were fantastic - red cabbage, homemade apple sauce, potato pancakes. One of the very few restaurants I have been to in a long time that include soup or salad. Really generous portions! Service very friendly, also. Also, we were able to walk from our hotel (down a very scenic river walk) which meant we could didn't feel quite so bad about eating so much!
