Wow! What an awesome surprise. We googled it for breakfast and then blown away by the atmosphere. Played 80s trivia during our 30 minute wait for the food. Which they post the wait time expectations on a sign as you walk in. Definitely worth the wait! 1000% recommended!

Down the street, they just tapped the Golden Keg the night before in what’s supposed to be the biggest Oktoberfest in the U.S. Meanwhile, inside The Breakfast Club & Pub in La Crosse, WI, they’re serving a special “Oktoberfest Menu.”
I paid $15+ for special eggs and corned beef hash. From the first bite to the last, I couldn’t figure out what was “special” about powdered eggs and flavorless corned beef hash. For contrast, I provided a reference picture: the top photo is good old U.S. Army Dining Facility powdered eggs served at Ft. McCoy, WI, and the bottom photo is what i got at The Breakfast Club & Pub.
I asked the waitress if I could get my eggs over medium. Her reply? “No, you can’t substitute the eggs.” Um… okay…That is definitely a first at a restaurant that focuses on the breakfast/ brunch/ lunch crowd. My friend asked if they had jalapeños. The answer? “No, we don’t have that, sorry.”
I honestly don’t know how this place has a 4.5-star rating—mediocre and tasteless food is not “charming.” I suspect the strict no-substitutions policy means most of the food are pre-made and just sitting in the kitchen. Add in the dingy, dirty 80’s décor, and this so-called “special” Oktoberfest menu was anything but.

I went in on a Thursday morning about 10:30 and was able to find myself a spot at the counter which was super cool. Today was my first time in but certainly not my last I will be bringing others. The service was great. The prices were wonderful. I spoke with the owner for a half a second about John Hughes movies. I wish I could give more than five stars. ✌️❤️

After waiting 30 minutes to order are food arrived pretty quickly and was delicious! However I was given expired sour cream, by 15 days! When the server went to get new sour cream she came back and said..."Thats all we have". Watch the dates on your packaging.

We decided to eat breakfast atthe Breakfast Club based on distance from our hotel and the appeal of the online menu, and I now have a new favorite breakfast place in SW Wisconsin. It has a fun decor, interesting menu options, and excellent service. My chorizo hash was tasty and filling, and my wife's ham and eggs had very good ham. The waitress kept my coffee mug topped off, and grapefruit juice made wife happy. We'll be back!

Visiting LaCrosse from out of town. We were there on a fairly busy Sunday. Got a table faster than predicted, maybe 20 min wait. We got our order in fairly quickly - 2 bloodies, a Benedict and a sandwich. But alas, I think the server/bartender just totally forgot about us. it WAS busy, and we're patient, empathetic people, so we didn't expect anything to be super fast. Plus we were having a nice conversation, but after a really long wait - close to an hour from when we sat down ... Really. I didn't want to be jerky, so to make sure I wasn't imagining it, I checked it against the timestamp on the text from the hostess that our table was ready ... Plus, the party of two next to us who sat down after us, and ordered after us were already finishing their meal (I've been a server, I know not every party is the same, timing-wise, but they were FINISHING!). Anyway, at that point, my partner asked about our bloody marys, which we also still hadn't gotten. Because of her lightbulb-going-off reaction, it became clear that the server had forgotten about us. She made the bloodies, and then I saw her rifling through her notebook, finding our order and then entering it in the POS. Our food ended up coming VERY quickly after that, delivered by another person.
I want to say here, like I said, I've been a server. In fact, I wasn't a particularly good one. But I know enough to know that this is SOLELY a management problem. The server got in the weeds, and screwed up. Could happen to anyone. But once that happened she never again made eye contact, didn't deliver our food, didn't explain, or apologize, didn't say another single word to us. I understand it was probably very embarrassing. Again, I've been there! But, if your employees are afraid to make mistakes, or afraid of customers, or don't know how to handle the mistakes that WILL happen, then the management, is failing in atmosphere setting, goal defining, and ongoing training.
Writing this, I'm so mad at the management, thinking back to bad bosses I've worked for, and so sympathetic to the server. It is Management's job to find the right people for the right spots, to coach them, to help them be successful, to prepare them for all the myriad things that might happen during a shift. Continuous pulse checks, ongoing training, and intentional vibe setting are your job!
Maybe it just happened to the two of us, that one time, and it never happens to anyone else. But based on the server's reaction, and the demeanor of the gentleman that ended up delivering our food, I suspect this is a thing that has happened before.
Again, the problem IS NOT that it took us 70 minutes to get our drinks and food. It's that no one acknowledged it, owned it, or made us feel like they cared about it at all. And that's a management and training problem, not a server problem.
Food was fine.

Im from out of town and service at this restaurant was terrible. Me and my partner stood at the waiting area and the waitress looked me dead in eyes made a very rude face and walked away and started laughing with the other staff there. Never said she would be with us and never came back to seat us. I do not recommend if you are black and brown. Seems that my kind may not be welcome. I ended up walking out in fear of something being done to my food. Don’t spend money in places that don’t welcome you.

We didn’t mind the 20 minute wait for a table, that’s normal for Sunday morning. But then we waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering. And the food was just OK, not great. The tater tots were barely browned, the hollandaise on my Benedict was thin and my partners breakfast potatoes were burned. Don’t recommend.

Always an excellent choice for breakfast! Lotsa Tots are my go to (with cheese vs sausage gravy). Pancake of the month is usually good, too (June was Pineapple Upside Down Cake). No cost 2 hour parallel street parking is available, but there's a parking ramp across the street, too. Usually busy, so expect a bit of a wait. It goes pretty fast.

Breakfast burger and hash browns 4*
Pancakes 4*
Bacon, egg and toast 3*
Vegetable omelet 2*
I was not expecting canned mushrooms. Those were hard to eat. Also I prefer real eggs. Plus I asked for pepper jack cheese and was given American cheese instead.
This restaurant has a cool 80's theme. You can also play Ms Pac-Man or Galaga, which is fun.

Looking for a place that can actually make a good breakfast? This is it. Friendly staff and good prices. The eggs are cooked to order exactly as you want them. Not over or undercooked. Hashbrowns are best I've had in a long time. The ham was delicious. I ate every bit and usually I don't. I've gone several times, never disappointed.

I expected this to be a fun, quirky place. It was not. There was nobody at the front desk when we walked in. We were told it would be at least a 30-minute wait for a table. Finally was seated, but we were told our food would take 50 minutes to make. We ordered eggs. Were they waiting for the chicken to lay the eggs? The place by that time was not busy. The server did not greet us. She looked like she absolutely hates her job and life. I ordered root beer. She brought me half a glass of flat root beer and said that was all they had but she'd bring more later. She never did. When I reminded her, she snapped: I TOLD YOU WE WERE OUT! No, miss. That isn't quite what you said. The eggs were undercooked. I ordered crispy hash browns and was served barely warmed hash browns. The toast was LOADED with butter, so I had to scrape some off. It just wasn't good, y'all. My partner asked for syrup and never got it. Yeh, there is some cute 80s stuff on the walls. But that was it for the theme. Extremely disappointing. It was cheap, though. I suppose you get what you pay for.

She brought me a half a glass of root beer and said she'd bring more. She did not. The pop she brought was flat. I waited, and she never brought the promised root beer. My partner asked for syrup; she never brought it. I asked for crispy hash browns; I received them barely cooked. The eggs were underdone. The entire vibe of the place was off. I expected 80s fun, and instead I got a surly server. The food is cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for.

As someone born in the 1970's this place was great!! What a fun blast from the past. The decor was spot on and brought back so many fun memories! The whole place was very interactive from the 1980's shows they were playing on the tv, the trivia, the cleaver menu names, it was all a great time! Oh AND I enjoyed the food (Reuben omelet?!?....loved it!) and the service was good as well (they even they dressed the part!!) If you are looking for something fun and different, this is a great place to check out!

Stood in a short line to get in and the hostess was nice enough, gave our info and we waited. Asked for bar seating but was told not available. People that were behind us in line got seated before we did, so first come first serve not true here. And people behind them got to sit in the bar. Not available? Waitress not friendly, but got our order. After a 45 minute wait, our over cooked, under seasoned breakfast arrived. With the exception of the hash browns, they were delicious. Steak Benedict, meat tasted like it was boiled and eggs over poached, no yolk left :( Sausage gravy needs some favor and some sausage, Waitress never checked on us once after bringing our food. This place looks good online, but not a place we need to ever check out again.

Going here 6yrs now this WAS my review "Amazing food and service. Large menu with large portions, cool environment"
Today- brought my brother and two nieces, 40 min wait to be seated, 1hr 30min to get food. While waiting, a cup of water got spilled no sense of urgency from waitress, got up and got a rag and cleaned it up and got my own refill on coffee. Waitress noticed and made the comment that's a dish towel like I wasn't supposed to use it?
Kids got pancakes the loved them, they were done eating when me and my brother got our orders. Omelet was poor quality with hardly any ingredients, potatoes tasteless and black, over easy eggs broken, country style steak was not good, gravy tasteless. No refills offered in the 1hr and a half wait. Kind of bummed I drove an hour to get what I remembered being an amazing place. Maybe it was an off day.

Loved this place. Stopped in early for breakfast and so happy we did. I had ham & Cheese omelet, sour dough toast and hash browns. Here is the defining moment. I always ask for butter on the side for my hashbrowns. Yey the butter came, soft and a very good portion on the side on a hot plate of large portion of food which was hot and good.
I absolutely hate it when I order butter on the side for my hashbrowns, it is of course forgotten and when they do remember it’s an ice cold pad of butter in foil to put on my cold hashbrowns because of the wait. Highly recommend this please…hot good coffee in old fashions heavy glass cups. Plus a large glass of ice water I didn’t have to ask for. +++++ in my book. ❤️

Best French toast I have ever had!! My young family of 5 (kids age 6,4,&2) enjoyed not only lunch there this last Saturday but we loved it so much we came back for breakfast on Sunday at 7 am while visiting La Crosse. Wonderful atmosphere and amazing food. They have magic 8 balls, Rubik's cubes, and coloring pages for the littles. My kids loved the waffles, chicken bites, and the fresh fruit off the “little yolks” menu. I enjoyed the French toast the first time and the biscuits and gravy the next morning. My husband had the chicken fried steak the first day and an omelet the second. Everything was delicious! Price was amazing!! Highly recommend! We’ll be back again!!

Owner was very rude to us. Told us we couldn't sit at the bar when there were open seats and refused to wait on us while the bartender refused to wait on us while he did shots with his buddies. Then gave us somebody elses bill for 5 times what our 2 drinks were. My husband started yelling - we have a medical emergency so we have to leave and need our bill or they wouldn't give it to us. A Gen Xer’s dream! Loved all the memorabilia and nods to my formative years! The small details are what made me smile - the menu item names, the posters in the restrooms, the music and 90s movie playing on a small screen on DVD no less! Hubs and I enjoyed challenging each other to the 80s trivia left on our table while we waited for our food. (I won!)
Service was amazing and food was really good! We shared the “Those aren’t pillows!” biscuits and gravy 😆 and a Western omelette. No complaints - food was hot and delicious. Not to mention inexpensive! Our total bill was $25 with sodas.
I smiled ear to ear the entire time and can’t wait to return for a little flash back to my childhood!

Love everything about this place. The name is awesome. The inside has a really cool old school vibe to it. Movie posters on the walls, record albums on display. My favorite part about the inside is the big quote on the wall,
"Sometimes I believe in as many as 6 impossible things before breakfast." - Alice in Wonderland
That really added something for me. I got myself the Reuben Omellette, and it was very good. I had to wait a bit for it, but it was worth it.

Great 80s themed breakfast spot... thus the name "The Breakfast Club." Traditional breakfast items, eggs, omelettes, waffles, french toast, etc.. 80s posters everywhere, 80s music playing, rubiks cube and 80s trivia at the table.
Food was good and meals were all reasonably priced. We went on a Saturday and there was about a 20 minute wait. Then went again on a Sunday and we were able to sit right down.
Staff was friendly and food was good.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced. I work in the service industry so I’m very gracious when it comes to the kitchen being behind and waits when busy. We waited an hour for a table which if fine, got sat, and immediately put our food in and for clarification this is diner food…nothing fancy or up scale, very simple greasy diner food. We waited over an hour for three omelettes and steak and eggs. During this wait our server didn’t come and check on us once, ONCE… Everyone was completely content with it taking hours to get food to tables. I think during my whole time sitting I didn’t see any plates go out. Everyone was waiting for food with empty water glasses and empty drinks. The fact that this place has 4.5 stars is beyond me. You can only listen to 80s music so long before you lose your mind with an empty growling stomach. Will not return.

I love the MTV music videos they play it sure brange me back in time. Had a bloody Maria that I enjoyed. I could tell by the volume of customers they are the favorable place for both locals and non-locals.

If your looking for chicken and waffles I suggest the blue moon!! Here you get 1 waffle which is delicious, with 8 tiny extra crispy/ dry chicken nuggets. Not to much the color was almost burnt looking

Worst food ever had. My husband got the country fried steak and couldn’t even cut it with a knife. Was told the wait would be 45 min and the wait was actually a hour and half. Then it took 45 minutes to get our food. You could tell my scrambled eggs were from a box of eggs (not real). The hostess didn’t even seem to care how long the wait was and said it would be worth the wait. This place is a freaking joke. Would NEVER go back.

Happy, high energy venue. Bustling with patrons at 9AM. Beautifully plated entrees. Did not see this coming: Stuffed French Toast. Had to order. Did not disappoint! My breakfast guests also tried the veggie omelets. They couldn’t finish. Two guesses as to who did! 😉

They were busy but the service was way to slow. Was not even acknowledged for 15 minutes and food took 45 minutes. Was not worth the wait.
