Went here about a two weeks ago on Saturday night. Had the King prime Rib. Absolutely amazing, exactly how I ordered it. The service was quick, and friendly, and the atmosphere is very nice. Could be a bit lighter though. All in all im very impressed.

Made reservations for 5:30 this past Saturday. Arrived at 5:25 was told we were checked in. Went to the bar, the male bartender looked at us 3 times and never came down to see if we wanted anything. Finally to women bartender came and took our drink order. After our reservation time of 5:30, we watched 3 other groups who didn't have reservations yet seated before us. I had to say something to the hostess in order to get seated.
Food - meh. Salad bar ok, it's just a salad bar. We did an appetizer of mushrooms, onion rings and pickle chips. Nothing spectacular. I ordered the queen cut prime rib with the garlic and onion seasoning. It was ok, nothing great. My wife ordered the perch dinner. No flavor, none. No salt or pepper. Just baked fish. The food isn't worth what they charge.
Server - the one bright spot of the evening. Becki did a fantastic job and was the highlight of the night.
Cleanliness - clean you light fixtures. 3 out of the 4 I could see from our table had cobwebs in them. I'm afraid what the rest of the place looks like if the light fixtures aren't being cleaned.
Overall we won't be back for a long time. We don't go often, but each time it has gotten worse.

We made reservations, arrived well before, had a drink in the bar and waited to be seated. The hostess at the time didn't seem very pleasant. We were seated 10 minutes after our reservation (which was at the opening time of the restaurant). Our waitress was very pleasant, food was ok. We finished our food, not our drinks and we were asked by the hostess (who was very rude) to leave because they needed the table. As we were leaving, there were MANY tables open. We will not patronize this establishment again.

We visited on Saturday, September 14 for our anniversary. We made a reservation ahead of time. The person who took our reservation was polite, personable, and helped me reserve the perfect time.
When we arrived, we were greeted by the host and hostess. After checking in, we sat at the bar and ordered drinks. The bartender was a friendly gentleman and chatted us and another couple up while we waited.
After we were seated at our table, our server Becki was prompt to come greet us and introduce herself. After taking our appetizer order and telling us the evening's specials, we were left to look over the menu. There was a wide variety of choices, and the prices were all very reasonable. We ordered the prime rib special and a fried perch dinner. Our meals came with the soup and salad bar which was full of homemade salads & goodies as well as tossed salad fixings that were crisp and fresh. The salad bar was also very tidy and plenty of fresh plates were available. Our dinners were superb, cooked perfectly, and the portions were quite generous. Our server Becki checked on us several times to see if we were in need of anything & if we had room for dessert (we didn't!). She gave us sturdy take out containers for the portions we couldn't finish and wished us a good night. As we left, the hostess and bartender also wished us a good night. It was a lovely anniversary dinner, and we will definitely visit again in the future! Thank you for making our night memorable.

I have went to Buck-a-Neer for 30+ years. The food was always fantastic and the service was consistent regardless of the waitress. This last experience, I will never return. We recently celebrated our 25th Anniversary there with a large group of people. Most of us ordered the special (all you can eat steak and shrimp) and the food was good. However you had to wait 20-30 minutes for another plate (all you can eat) and it only came out with 2 small pieces of steak and 2 shrimp. We seen other tables getting platters of refills. A couple other people ordered other items that were either cold/overdone. Our waitress was rude. She didn't ask if we wanted any dessert or refills and we felt like we were an inconvenience the entire night. We had to flag her down to get service. We were embarrassed to treat our family and friends to a night out with such poor service and so/so food.

Ist Visit. It was a pleasure meeting Ariel, her hospitality and service was awesome. Salad bar was fresh and well stocked. Tried the Ribs and Fried chicken with spiral fries. Hard to believe it's offered as all you can eat given the amount of food served on one plate - wow. Wisconsin in a glass aka Brandy Old Fashioned was excellent too. Celebrated birthday with large group. Server was great to start with getting drinks orders and food orders (split checks was appreciated). Food came out in two blocks which left delay waiting for others to get food. Food was okay; prime rib lacked flavor, steak over cooked. Wow , nice place to eat! Four of us decided last minute to go for Fish Fry.
I noticed Google said reservations were not required, but recommended…. So I let Google do their thing and I was able to get a table reserved. When we arrived at restaurant we were seated immediately, and able to order drinks. To our surprise and utmost satisfaction not only did they have a really nice Salad Bar, but also an AYCE Seafood Buffet! Price was very reasonable. Seafood buffet offered: three types of differently prepared cod fillets, smashed potatoes, gravy, beef tips with mushrooms, rice pilaf, vegetables, and Mac & cheese. When we got back to the table there was a basket of warm rolls as well. A dessert menu card offered up 8 sweets which included Tiramisu, cheesecake, lava cake and obviously several more I can’t think of, and was too stuffed to even try one!
Waitstaff was excellent, bartender was friendly and the place was clean.
We’ll be back!

Great cocktails and very friendly staff/owner. Salad bar had a number of extra offerings on it, including cheese spread, liver pate, herring, etc., along with a soup. Bread was brought to the table. We started with alligator bites, unusual for the area, and quite delicious. There was a group of us with varied entrees, all tasty. Tuna steak, burger, prime rib and tenderloins, the tenderloins were ordered medium rare and came medium well, we did not send them back or say anything at the time of the meal, just ate.

Aug 2023 We went as two couples and when we walked in the door we noticed the very nice rustic décor that was in the bar and the restaurant. We were warmly greeted by the bartender and led to our table. After our waiter took our orders, he then directed us to the soup and salad bar. The salad looked and tasted fresh and warm rolls were on our table when we sat back down. I had shrimp with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and it was absolutely the best. My husband had ribs & chicken and his side was endless fries. He said the ribs and the fries were excellent. The other gentleman in our party also had ribs & chicken, with a large plate of fettuccine alfredo as his side. He couldn’t stop saying how good it was. His wife had the shrimp alfredo which didn’t come with a side but it was a large plate and she had gotten the salad bar with her meal. She also said her meal was excellent. I can’t believe we got such good food for a such a reasonable price. Our waiter was amazingly friendly and attentive. In addition to the food, the room was clean and didn’t smell of room fresheners (big turn off). We were given large glasses of water, large napkins, wet naps, decent silverware and anything we requested with our meal. My only minor complaint was the brandy old fashioned. It had so much in the glass (ice, muddled fruit and two cherries) that here wasn’t much to drink. This is a 45 minute drive for us but we will definitely be back. I can’t remember when I’ve had such a nice experience.

First visit... cool atmosphere that fit the name! Appetizers of Gator Bites and Curds were a hit! Prime Rib was great and the salad bar was nice! Star of the show were the ice cream dessert drinks! So, first off. I've been here a couple times before the recently new owners took over. The food at that time was out of the world, Prime rib especially. Last night, that was the worst $100 I've ever spent. The only good part was the soup and cocktails. The prime rib would barely cut with a steak night and it was medium rare. The waitress was absolutely incredible however. Left her a good tip because she was top notch. Overall, I will not be back with my girlfriend ever again.

Whenever we come back to central Wisconsin, “The Buck” is an absolute must stop. Ariel, Tim, Scott, Josh, and the rest of the crew treat their guests incredibly, the food is amazing, and drinks are top notch!!!
Recommendations include Friday fish fry, salmon is always done to perfection, steaks are amazing, best supper club salad bar ever, and a Frisky Old Fashioned or 2 are addictive! Love this place, but it truly is the ownership and staff that will keep us coming back time and time again!

Our neighborhood supper club regularly visits area supper clubs. Last night we enjoyed dinner at the Buck-A-Neer. This was our second time we chose to dine here. We had 23 neighbors who attended. Everyone was very satisfied with their meals. The menu and specials gave us lots of great options. The food was delicious, beautifully prepared and warm. The service was outstanding! Ariel and Paul were our servers and they did an outstanding job. They took excellent care of us and couldn't have been nicer. What a great night we had! We all agreed the Buck-A-Neer gets an A +

Im Happy to say that whatever had changed at the BuckANeer has seemed to change course. although some of the food was still a bit salty and pricey, it wasn’t nearly as bad as in my old review.
I ordered the Mahi Tuna Steak, they normally cook it to medium. I found this strange but intriguing. As proper Tuna Steak should be lightly seared on each side and severed near raw or blue (black and Blue) with the way it was prepared. Thats just the way you cook tuna steak. That is how every restaurant does it. I ordered mine medium rare and my theory was absolutely correct.
If you have something on your menu make it right.
But the place was over all much better then it was. Im happy to see it recover.

I can't help but feel like this place has gotten worse since the new management. This place was always special to my family and me and it's just not the same. The redone interior is nice but the lighting is too bright for a supper club. I ordered a king cut prime rib and a side of scallops. The scallops were great well-cooked tender and lightly buttered. The steak, which looked and felt more like a roast, is where the review gets bad. I ordered it rare and it came out medium, ok, not ideal but not worth complaining about. But the steam was also bland and fat-less. It also seemed dry in some spots but admittedly we're good In others. My steak was definitely a cheaper grade steak then let on. It was very tender and seasoned alright but I would honestly guess it was USDA-Choice maybe slipping into select. It was a very thick-cut steak. But lacked the quality I had paid for. You could get a better steak I watching a 15 minute YouTube video and going to your local butcher. I have had better steaks at much much cheaper restaurants. But The check was outrageous for the food that I received. It was $84 between two people. Two entrées One with an added side, and one appetizer. I understand that I do tend to spend more and restaurants, but I expect to get what I pay for and this was simply not the case.
Overall: The Buck-A-Neer has slowly gotten more expensive well the food quality has gotten worse. It’s sad to see a good place to go bad.

We grew up going to the Buck a Neer. Went there about 2-3 years ago and were not impressed. Decided to give it another try and were sorry we did. It started bad from the beginning, the bartender decided to wait on another couple that arrived well after we did. Then we were seated in a back room when other people had been seated elsewhere. We had the salad bar and buffet. The lettuce had rotten lettuce in it which my husband pointed out to the waitress and she just replied “ that was just cut today”. I don’t eat rotten lettuce at home, why would I pay to eat it at your restaurant? The Thousand Island dressing had too much vinegar in it. Your tarter sauce had no flavor to it. The German potatoes were canned potatoes! With fresh potatoes right now from the garden? Even the Old Fashioned was the worst my husband had. It all showed a lack of passion for food/cooking. I know that you have your regulars, but is there honestly room for improvements?

Came for the advertised “seafood” buffet and was thoroughly disappointed to find it consisted of baked cod, fried cod, and the frozen fried Seapak shrimp you get from Walmart. That was the ONLY seafood. Other options were potatoes, pulled pork, rice, bread pudding. The decor is drab and the place definitely needs a makeover. The servers and drinks were great but I won’t be going back.

We had a group of 12 for Mother's Day buffet. Had heard a lot of good about it but was disappointed. Food lacked taste and was more like cafeteria food. Corn and other veggies were actual kind of bad. Service was pretty good. I would not go back and thought the Hotel Marshfield meal last year was much better.
Follow Up to the Owner. I agree, there was a good selection of food and my comments weren't regarding the quantity of the offerings. I agree the salad bar was good and the dessert table was quite good. I acknowledge that different people have different tastes and expectations so I am happy that people enjoyed their meal.

Awesome food, their burgers are so thick. They are so kind, they let us stay late even when they had every right to tell us to leave they let our group just sit there and chat. They were so polite and accommodating.

A bit out of the way, it is worth the drive. The waitress Becki was exceptional. She was pleasant and attentive. This was the first salad bar we have been to in a while and although smaller it was well-stocked with a wide variety of choices. The food was excellent. It was cooked well and came out hot.
I would recommend reservations. We eat early and by the time we left it was very busy. It is on the pricier side so we wouldn’t be going there as often but will be going back.

Awesome bartender, awesome waitress, awesome salad bar. The cook needs to be replaced. I ordered my steak well it came out raw, sent back, the waitress brought it back out and even she said omg I will take it back again, my potato was left the first time and only ate half because it was cold. My husband had prime rib, it too was colds and so where his fries, he finished eating his cold mean I am still waiting for my steak and the waitress comes over and says the cook doesn't like the way your steak looks, oh he's done eating do you want me to just box it up I replied yep

Just disappointed!! New to the area & was told to go for the perch fry. No perch! My tuna was over cooked and potato was cold.
Husband's ribeye was meh, but the deep fried shrimp was good. Our waitress wanted to make it right, but was too late...just wanted to go. She was truly upset that we weren't all that happy & gave us each a free dessert. I wonder how many of those they give out in a night??🤔
Not worth the $75 we spent.

The Thursday special of bbq ribs and chicken is amazing. It is all you care to eat plus you get rolls and choice of potato. Everything tasted fantastic! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the service was fast. We always enjoy our evening when we go here.

Absolutely the best. My seafood dish was so good . The crisp batter on my fish made me want more. My scallops were the best. We are repeat diners. This place is always our first choice for a couples night out. Between the staff,drinks, and food you can not go wrong.
