Waitress was very good- friendly, but she was the only one working so didn’t get around to asking about refills until we were almost ready to leave. That’s not her fault though. Food was just okay. I got the roast beef sandwich and it kind of had a funky taste to it. The meat was not very good quality and I just wasn’t impressed with it overall. The cream of mushroom soup was very good. This isn’t a bad place, but I don’t think I will eat here again. Prices were fair for the portion sizes, but as I said, the quality just wasn’t there in my opinion. Nice sized parking lot nice bar area and I know a lot of people like this place so I’m sure their business will not suffer.

We find Chalice cozy and consistently delicious. It's a must stop whenever we are in town. This visit we started with the Italian Tomato Bread and it is easily one of the best takes on bruschetta we've ever eaten. Somewhere between the marinated fresh tomatoes and the crunchy (yet soft enough on the interior) bread, finished with a judicious amount of balsamic - they struck gold. Huge flavor and a generous portion! Entree choices were the Blackened Salmon Salad and the Avocado Burger - both cooked perfectly and generously portioned. The salad is constructed with steamed broccoli and sautéed mushroom, and the mix of cold greens with warm veg and spicy fish is wonderful! Good margarita's and a zesty New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc topped off the meal. Always very friendly service. Such a great little spot!

First visit to the Chalice. Excellent experience. Service was wonderful and food was fantastic. Had to try the Shrimp Cocktail as tjats a classic and was not disappointed. Also, highly recommend the Pastrami Hamburger. Best burger I have ever had! And BIG burger!!! So glad we found this restaurant. It is a quiet, neighborhood place in Oshkosh that has stayed its charming self. If you are in the area, or I would also recoomend a drive there, go. You will not ne disappointed. In 1979 I got a Rueben and Pea Soup. Tomato salad.
Would never have liked any of those from anywhere else. Left Oshkosh in 96. Now I corn my beef, make my sauerkraut, bake my rye bread, get the best Swiss.
Trial and error came up with that unique sauce. Yet when I come home, I go there.

What a local gem. We went for happy hour Friday. It was busy but in a pleasant, welcoming way. Both the bartender and our waitress were quick to serve us. Drinks were spot on, the bar mix of snacks is quit addictive, and the shrimp cocktail was a perfect addition to our drinks. I love the atmosphere of the place, dark walls and a fireplace. We'll be back again soon.

The service here is very quick. We used to have a lunch break here, and still get back in time. It is also a good place to eat if you want to take time to visit, which we did. I had the tenderloin sandwich with meat cooked the way I liked it. My friend had the fish sandwich. Both were good and large. They specialize in meal-sized sandwiches and salads. Coffee & tea are in huge glass cups. I mean huge! You'll see. Not a large dining area, but it works and has large windows. Large bar area and cozy small tables in there as well. I've never been disappointed there.

Quaint and cozy little space with a fireplace perfect in the winter! There is a bar area and a small dining area so expect it to be crowded. We wound up at the bar to eat. I'm not sure if they take reservations but if you really want a table check in advance. The drink selection is great. The food menu is heavily geared towards sandwiches and burgers. Given the vibe, I'd love to see a bit more main course menu items. That said, the appetizer we got was a potato thing (starts with a W) and it was phenomenal. Lots of seasoning with onions, and a huge quantity. A few could easily share and careful you might get full. Also great as a family style side for the table.

The food was pretty but very bland and extremely overpriced. They have something called an apple Waldorf salad that is literally just fruit submerged in mayonnaise. The apple cider was mostly water. The waitress was helpful but would walk away before everyone was done ordering. Very pretty restaurant though, good decorations and outdoor seating. Probably not wheelchair accessible; the step outside the front door is steep.

Today I had lunch at The Chalice at 1741 N Main St, in Oshkosh, WI. After parking, I went into the restaurant and was quickly greeted by the bartender who welcomes me to the restaurant and seated me. She was excellent at her job and ended up serving me. I ordered the tomato salad.aa.a starter, good choice. I then received my roast beef sandwich. It was very good. To finish my meal, a piece of fudge was placed on the table. A great touch

When we arrived, 7:30pm, the bar and seating areas were 60% full with customers. When we sat down it was a bit load/noisy, but it quieted down as groups of people finished their meals and left.

My wife ordered a Ruben. She told me it was the BEST she’d ever had.

I ordered the special (tenderloin steak covered with mushrooms, onions and Swiss cheese). Mine also came with garlic bread and American fries which we turned into an appetizer smothed with mushrooms, onions and Swiss cheese. The tenderloin was soooo tender and delicious! The mushrooms, onions and cheese were a bonus.

We will definitely try again next time we’re in Oshkosh.

Sirloin sandwich was ok, the roast beef sandwich was dry and almost felt like I was eating beef jerky sandwich instead of a roast beef sandwich. I saw this restaurant advertised by the Midwest muncher on Instagram. They definitely made this place seem like it was gonna be better food than it was. The potatoes were either overcooked or undercooked. I had a mixture of both on my plate lol. The cream of mushroom soup was good and probably the only thing I would recommend out of everything that we ordered.

Went here with a friend, got there a little bit before 5. I’m glad we did, the dining area is very small. Other seating options are high tops on the wall by the bar (I prefer a table) we did get a table by the fireplace, very nice. It wasn’t very busy yet, took a bit for someone to get over by us to greet. Drinks were very good (got a Bloody Mary) Our waitress seemed rushed and kinda rambled through everything so we just ordered without asking too many questions. Tenderloin bites were delicious, ordered medium rare and were cooked correctly. For food we got steak cooked medium and I got baked haddock. Steak ended up being well done (I would’ve sent it back, but my friend ended up just eating it) my haddock was really good, I wouldn’t say it was a stand out for me though. We ended up getting dessert, the strawberry short cake and a scotcheroo. The shortcake was such a massive portion, you’d have to split with another person or two. Overall it was a decent experience, but they could really slow down when taking orders and acknowledge/engage a bit more. I don’t go out to eat very much at all and felt a bit rushed.

We lived right by there for a year and never went in and now that we moved we stopped by one evening with our teenager and our infant. It’s adorable inside!! You would never know by looking at the outside! My favorite part however was there menu!! It wasn’t just a boring predictable menu like almost everywhere you go. Most of the dishes all had a unique twist to them. I took a chance and got the blackened haddock salad. This place is now my favorite restaurant in Oshkosh. I come to Oshkosh for the Airventure show every July, and this year I had the pleasure of eating at the Chalice. We had a table of 10 without a reservation, and yet we were seated in less than 10 minutes, served delicious food and drink, and had a great time. I tried the Lake Fly drink which has a green color and sweet taste. Our group tried three appetizers and loved them all. My favorite part was the sandwiches. If you are really hungry get the dinner portion, but be warned it's a lot of food. I can't wait to go back!
