Went to the Cookery back when it was family run, it was home cooked and delicious, staff was very friendly, they really cared. Went on may 21, 2021 for breakfast for the first time after re-building , waittress was scarcastic and food was bland, told manager he didn’t seem to care, and charged us full price , very disappointed, will never go back

I have never had meatloaf with green olives in it. Nice touch, they added an interesting flavor that was enjoyable. Jesus took our order soon after we were seated, and shortly after that, we received our meals. Fast service. We will definitely eat there again

I would not recommend this restaurant for those that like flavor! To kick off our anniversary weekend we decided to try something new, but this was not something I would of chosen. The only good thing about this restaurant was the service & the chowder. The whitefish chowder was amazing but our entrees were very bland. I got the whitefish with roasted red potatoes and asparagus, and my bf got the half a chicken with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Again would not recommend those that like flavor, but the location was beautiful!

This place was phenomenal. Limited seating and a little wait due to the pandemic but it was 100% worth it! The salmon on my salmon sandwich was cooked perfectly and they provided a nice amount of toppings. Love and appreciate the gluten free bread option. Everything was good even down to the side of applesauce. I was so happy I decided to try the petite dessert which was the perfect portion size. I got the sour cream chocolate cake and it was the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had! Customer service was awesome and they even had a nice of the water. I will be recommending this place to all my friends who visit Door County.

The first time I visited door county was in 2007. I stayed at By the Bay Motel and ate at the Cookery a few times. I loved the building and the big winows and the open yet warm ambiance inside. The food was home-y and delicious. Now that it's re-done, I can't say any of these things. It's a beautiful building so I give them credit for really putting a lot into this, however, it's so different now, in a negative way. If you're seated at a booth - you will not have a view of the outdoors at all. The food tastes like it was stored with butter, and cooked with butter and then drizzled with butter (a bit much). The desserts looked beautiful in the bakery counter but that's about it. I suppose the good views come from the 2nd story seating? Not sure how we would get seated up there. It's just really confusing and a really crowded layout. Sadly, we probably won't be back.

My husband and I walked into the Cookery on Fri Aug 21, 2020 around 7:30- 8 pm and requested an outdoor table for dinner. The woman at the front desk rudely told my husband masks were required to enter. My husband stated he has a medical condition that prohibited him from wearing one. She told us "then we can't serve you". We explained we were going to be dinning outdoors at the outdoor seating. She told him he needed to wear a mask in order for her to walk him a few feet from the front desk through door that goes to outdoor seating. She wasnt asking politely, she was being very rude. She stated they have a strict policy on wearing masks to enter. However once you pass through front desk a few feet the entire restaurant inside and out was packed full of guests not wearing masks. We understand masks are not required once you are seated. She rudely told us we could walk outside and she could meet us and let us into the outdoor seating area. However by this point she had made us feel very uncomfortable and we were treated so ruedly we decided not to dine there. This should have been handled more profesionally. We have been coming to Fish Creek for many years and have enjoyed dinning at this restaurant, however after this experience we will not be returning. This restaurant discriminates against people with disabilities.

Great casual dining! We stopped here early evening and quickly were seated. They have limited outdoor dining. But felt comfortable eating inside with the precautions they have taken (tables spread apart, masks required). We each had different dishes and all were great... roasted vegetable quesadilla, chicken salad sandwich (slight curry flavor... yum!), and the fish tacos (which were my favorite). We also split a Door County Cherry Crisp which was really good. The only thing that kept from a 5 star were the cheese curds. I thought they were ok... a little too greasy though. All-in-all, we will definitely be back and keep them on our Door County short list of places to eat!

Me and my Jill went here on our trip up to Door County for my birthday. We looked at many restaurants who were closed for Co-vid and happened upon this one which was open. I'm so glad we stumbled upon it! The food was delicious and the staff was nice. We ordered the miniature desserts after our meal because they were so well priced and portioned for an after meal victory lap. This place made our trip on the first night and if we get a chance to venture up here again, we will definitely be back to try their sandwiches.

Went in with the gf, we both had the whitefish chowder, she had the pork entree, I had the chicken entree. They brought out both soups at the same time, and like other reviewers, I loved it. Great soup.
However, when I got my chicken, the gravy over it was warm, but the chicken was lukewarm, unseasoned except for salt, and had a crazy amount of fat under the skin, so it had been sitting for quite a while and then heated up for me. Her pork was like a Christmas ham, seasoned similarly, and seemed like it was one of those pre-cooked Christmas hams you warm up.... The cheese in it wasn't melted and it was lukewarm too. Pretty disappointed we didn't get a freshly cooked meal when this place was so highly rated and they charged $20+ a plate for food that was reheated.

The Cookery is always delicious. They allow well-behaved dogs on the front porch which is a real bonus for us. The white fish is always fresh with a parmesan cheese coating. Yum. You must have the cherry crisp for dessert. They don't take reservations but you can call ahead and get your name on the waiting list.

My second visit, food is clean, flavorful, and delicious. Great vibe, love the wine list and had an awesome octoberfest on tap. The staff were so diligent despite being clearly slammed. They never missed a beat and took impeccable care of us.
The highlight was seeing Katie Dahl (sp?) her performance was so captivating, it lured us in and kept us most of the evening.
I bought one of her cd’s and listened the whole 3 hour drive home.
Amazing experience, can’t wait to return next time!

Very nice place! This was my second time to eat here. I got a bacon cheeseburger and cheese curds. Both were delicious. They make their own ranch and it’s delicious. Their dill potato salad is amazing. I’ve always been too full to get dessert but it looks yummy. I wish our server had written things down—just a pet peeve of mine. My items were a bit jumbled at first but they were quickly rectified so I really have no complaints.

My life was subpar.... until I visited this place. The potato salad changed the way I look at life. I was in a dark place... until I tasted the tartar sauce. I was instantly lost in the sauce. The apple sauce danced on my tongue, it was a feeling I had never felt before. Perch sandwich, absolutely delectable. The cookery club sandwich was great, amazing bread. Loved eating here last month! Had to wait a bit to be seated but they were friendly and responsive and the buzzer allowed us to wander in the nearby area. The food was AMAZING. This is a really nice two story restaurant with indoor and out door seating (even accommodating dogs with a water bowl)

Our server Misha Y - was awesome - he went above and beyond with menu suggestions and was very pleasant - great attitude with a can do spirit!
