Went for the first time with friends and family this week and it was amazing! The Service was super friendly. They catered to our requests to sub some items with no problem at all. And a big hats off to the owner/chef. We ordered the kings platter. The ribs, chicken and sausage were standouts, the sides delicious, everything well seasoned, and the banana pudding is to die for! We’ll definitely be back!

New to the area and was looking for a BBQ joint I can call my new go to place. NOT here. :( I ordered a 2 meat and sides plate. The ribs were old, burnt and inedible. The sausage wasn't sliced which took away from the eating experience. The beans were ok. Nothing to jump up and down about. The nav and cheese was ok as well. Had a wonderful dining experience while in Appleton. The Cozzy Corner is a must, if you're in town for a visit or work! The food was amazing with great portions for the price. I just ordered a two-meat plate to go...it took about five minutes to get home. I immediately sat down and proceeded to dig in to my meal, knowing that it would be really good ...I had eaten here one time before and was pretty impressed. This time was totally different, maybe it was because of the time of day...but this food definitely has been cooked hours before, it was so gross tasting (and smelled bad too...I barely ate anything on my plate, and now I'm hoping that what little I did eat doesn't come back up. I spent $17 on this meal and that is way too much for food that you can't even eat.

I have been wanting to go to The Cozzy Corner since Wisconsin foodie featured them on tv. I waited a long time to make it here and it did not disappoint!!! Let’s start with the atmosphere the soul consumes this place as soon as you walk in, beautiful murals, and beautiful people greeting you as you sit down. Next stop is the food! Ohh my lord! The food is over the top! Flavors, the love and the soul that goes into the food makes the name fit. The Cozzy Corner is a place of love, great food and great atmosphere. When you walk in all are welcome and all will not leave hungry. It would be so cool to do a kitchen tour and watch the master in the kitchen throw down and make these amazing creations! We don’t have many soul food places in Wisconsin and boy are we lucky to have this one! I give The Cozzy Corner 1000 stars!

I Door Dashed Cozzy Corner because I was craving comfort food. I’m from Missouri and just hadn’t found anywhere in the area that does comfort food justice, until now. I had the two meat plate. The Cajun catfish was crispy and full of flavor, although a bit too salty. The fried chicken was delicious with a crispy skin. The greens were amazing, but would’ve been better with some pepper vinegar sauce. The macaroni and cheese was to die for! Lastly, the cornbread muffin was moist and tasty. I highly recommend Cozzy Corner! Yum!

I passed through while on break from work, and was very disappointed. I ordered the traditional fried chicken wings, and they were tasteless! My order wasn't even started yet.

There is ZERO excuse for that, and it's sadly extremely common for them to take 10-20 mins past pick up, to have your order ready.

Staff also tends to have a bad attitude.
Not friendly and dismissive.

It's a shame, never had bad experiences before covid but now they just don't care.

Probably why they're never packed anymore.

The 2 girls are LITERALLY just standing in the kitchen, socializing, taking 5 minutes to open the bag for the order.

They are not doing their jobs at all and being extremely inattentive.

Saw this on Google maps while in town visiting and thought I’d give it a try. The decorations, murals , and music were all of black musicians during the blues era. It was amazing to look at and there were many conversation pieces to talk about while waiting for our food.
I ordered the Kings platter and my wife ordered pecan chicken and waffles. The kings platter gave me a chance to try a little bit of everything and I really enjoyed the chicken wings and hot sauce. What I didn’t enjoy was the mac and cheese. I can’t pin point what it is but my guess is maybe American cheese? I could be wrong , but it definitely didn’t taste that good.
I was told the pecan chicken and waffles were really good though! Overall we’d come back to try what else is on the menu and to hear some good music .

I'm Southern girl from Arkansas originally. Have lived in the Plover Wisconsin area since 1986 and just discovered Cozzy Corner and their Catfish. It is so very good and very very close to the Catfish I get in Arkansas. The menu looks really good for other items but it will be hard for me to choose these over the Catfish. I really wanted to like it here. There was many good reviews and I love southern food. Was disappointed in that it was relatively empty, yet it took a while to get acknowledged by the staff. And then they were confused as to our order being taken, 2 different servers came for our orders. The food took a while, but it gave us time to check the place out. It was about 6 pm and the place was pretty dark inside. The food came and I tried the ribs, there was 4 ribs. They tasted alright but the last 2 ribs of the baby rack were like charcoal-inedible. The catfish was ok, Id never had catfish so I don't have anything to compare it to. Mac and cheese was good. My wife had the chicken and she said it was good. Pulled pork was decent, a little bland. Fries were kinda rubbery. Cornbread was good. It was relatively cheap. I can't say that I'll be back tho.

Traveling through for work. A local colleague recommended this place as I don’t think there was any soul food places in Appleton, WI. The entire ascetic would lead you to believe that it was black owned but in fact it’s not. Eating soul food my entire life I’m critical of any soul food restaurant. The food came out hot! Ordered catfish and chicken with 2 sides: Mac and cheese and Red beans and rice. Here’s where authenticity and proximity makes a difference. This is Appleton, WI soul food. Catfish fried too hard and not enough seasoning at all. More breading than meat. The chicken had a unique flavor. It was something they used that I hadn’t tasted in fried chicken before but I couldn’t determine if I liked it or not. However the chicken was old. It wasn’t fried fresh like the fish was. The sides were bad. The Mac and cheese again had something in it that I hadn’t tasted before in Mac and cheese. It tasted like they tried to be different but I didn’t like it. And it was oily. The red beans and rice weren’t cooked down to where it needs to be. Beans need to be cooked down, I didn’t touch them. This is perfect however for where’s it located and the average customer that wants soul food they won’t know the difference or what things are supposed to taste like. I assume if you grew up eating soul food you would need to go to Milwaukee to get something real.

The reviews appeared spotty but I said let me give them a try. When I arrived, I discovered what appeared to be a restaurant straight out of the 50s or 60s that probably hadn’t been updated Since They were short staffed, and I had to seat myself. I wasn’t sure if I should stay, but I looked around and saw a mixed and diverse crowd. I was In town for work it was my last night with nothing to do for the evening I got comfortable in one of the booths and listened to the blues playing in the background. I didn’t see a server for several minutes and I waited for what I assumed would frustrated employee to come take my order. To my surprise, a very nice gentleman came by explained they were short staff, but assured me he sure he would take care of me. And that he did. I took his recommendations and the food was fabulous. I had the cornbread waffle as an appetizer. Never heard of a cornbread waffle, but on the first by I knew I picked the right spot. For my meal I had the fried chicken, collard greens, mac & cheese, and yams. It’s a rarity for me to have soul food better than my grandma from the south. My entire meal was on point just as the service was. I couldn’t believe it when I got my bill. The cost was also out of the 60s lol.
Next time I have to go to Appleton I will be visiting the Cozzy Corner.

We came in and sat down at one of the booths which was so sticky and majority of booths had holes in them there wasnt much to choose from.  We asked to move to a table which was also somewhat sticky but tolerable. While we waited for our food we were looking around at the place and realized there were pieces missing from the ceiling and just looked run down. We ordered our food frogs legs for my husband, fried chicken for me. He said his frog legs and were okay. My chicken was the grossest, slimeyist, worst fried chicken I have ever had. Plus while picking at the chicken  there was uncooked flour on it.  I would much rather go to Popeyes than go back here. We also ordered the banana pudding (which we tried a sample of before this date) and tasted like the pudding/Bananas had been sitting for days. Very disappointed, will not be returning.

Ordered take out tonight from here, wow. I'm blown away. I love New Orleans. Been there 2 times. The food that is made here is as close as I've ever come in Wisconsin. Triple catfish sandwich was delectable. Cajun style, Flaky, white, perfectly crisp. A hint of spice just how it should be. Mac & Cheese as a side, fantastic. My wife & daughter had wings with coleslaw and hush puppies. I couldn't say anything before I was finished eating! I had to write this review!!! I recently ordered the King Platter for myself and another person. The fried okra, fish and fried chicken were pretty good but not stellar. The pork, ribs, and smoked sausage were the driest meat i have ever put in my mouth-hole. It was so chewy and dry. it was the worst meat i think i've ever had and I have eaten at some pretty shady dives over the years. the Gumbo was decent. The Mac and cheese.. is dark orange with all kinds of seasoning in it. The sauce is thin and shiny..just gross looking. And the hair on top was the icing on the cake. Took all the food back and got a refund.
The food itself does not look appetizing. It looks old and dry. I wonder how many days old it is. 🤔

The catfish was so over fried there was no fish underneath the breading. The mac and cheese was barely warm with cold portions throughout. The gumbo was good. I truly cannot get over how filthy it was in there. Various sauces were splattered and dried on pictures. Parts of the ceiling was exposed from broken tiles. A wall was dripping with something coming from the ceiling. Booth seat torn wide open. A picture hung in the women's bathroom with a phone charger cable. The vibe could have been awesome had it been clean. It needs some TLC.

Been coming here since I was living in Memphis. It is everything good about southern food, up north. Amazing fried chicken, catfish, ribs, cornbread, red beans and rice, gumbo, pecan pie... EVERYTHING!!!

The food here is absolutely amazing, it's like a warm hug for your soul. The service is top-notch, and the food is just delicious. We usually visit on the weekends, and it's quite busy, especially when we come for dinner. Finding parking can be a bit of a challenge since it's street parking only. Last time, we had to park a few blocks away and take a walk to get to the restaurant.

What I really appreciate is the restaurant's vibrant paint job and the lively colors inside. It adds a fantastic atmosphere to the dining experience. I can't resist coming back here every time I'm in Appleton; it's just that good.

Not a bad place at all. I grew up in NC so this place brought back that homey vibe. We stood there waiting for someone to seat us but turns out, you just find yourself a seat when you walk in.

The food is so good. We (2 adults 1 child) ordered the 12 pc family meal and got red beans and rice for the side. We also ordered the Louisiana cheese fries as an appetizer. We were full and had left overs. Everything was as ordered and the service was super laid back but still friendly and efficient. The wait time was appropriate and the atmosphere is relaxing. I was craving fried chicken and they were giving. Highly recommend.

Had a bad meal a couple months back. My wife said give them another chance. Very dry ribs. Burnt cornbread.Sausage is store bought ( probably made in New London). BBQ beans are basic out of the can. Collard greens were good.
I always try to buy local mom and pops. Quality has gone down hill. Back on the hunt for authentic bbq.

I don't know man. I got the waffle sandwich and it was not flavorful, the chicken between it was ALL fried oil. Mac and cheese was pretty bland. The gumbo looked like it was made in a microwave. My innards also felt like garbage afterwards. The menu looks great, the food was not very good.
