Food is good but not worth the headache. There is already a line at 8am and a 30-60 minute wait after those first customers are seated. They dont take reservations. The tables are touching and there is no privacy whatsoever - BE PREPARED to have every person there watch you eat. They save the booths up front for the regulars because we weren't able to sit there despite waiting 40 minutes. Pastries are good but usually gone early. Not worth $65 for 2 people.

Amazing place!
I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich — it was super tasty. It came with soup. I got a cheesy potato soup with dill, possibly cauliflower — incredibly flavorful! The atmosphere is lively and youthful, the place was packed during lunchtime. I waited about 10 minutes for the food — pretty fast considering how busy it was. The interior design is stylish, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of the best spots around.

Decent food that's ruined by poor service and a long wait. Do not go when busy. It gets chaotic, and the staff gets overwhelmed.

I've eaten here 3 times. Every time, it's good food, but it takes longer than an hour for simple lunch (not a big issue).

This weekend I arrived with a 4 top. We were not greeted and waited at the door for some while. I spoke up to a server walking past. She had obviously been ignoring us. She snapped back, saying they were busy. I waited another 20 minutes and watched them seat 3 other groups after me.

It was obvious they weren't going to sit us. I somehow upset the server when asking? They literally just let me wait until I got annoyed and left. Very unprofessional. Might be a clue why the restaurants in this location keep failing.

There is a different, locally owned restaurant .5 miles away with much better service and breakfast all day.

I’m back on the road again, looking for some of the best food and drinks throughout the midwest! The first stop was La Crosse, Wisconsin, where I was able to catch up with a good friend of mine. When we were talking about where to go for lunch, she said she had heard all about this restaurant, but hadn’t been. With the name like The Damn Tasty, we figured we better check it out and see if it lives up to its name. It was a little hard to find because they don’t have the most obvious sign directing you to their space in the strip of shops and we did have to put our name on the waiting list, but as you can see, it was WELL WORTH IT. The menu was fairly limited with some breakfast options and lunch options, but you could tell that the menu was curated and it was limited because they focused on doing everything well. Let’s get down to the food…

We ordered the Kimchi Toast with kimchi cream cheese, thick cut bacon, fried egg, chili crisp, dressed greens, grilled sourdough. Honestly, this was 10/10. A little messy to cut up, but holy cow the flavor…

Bánh Mì Burger with a potsticker pork patty, pickled veggies, shaved cucumber, garlic mayo, chili crisp, cilantro, fried egg, seeded roll! Another one of their best sellers and I can see why.

Finally, we had the French Toast with blueberry compote, lemon curd, honeyed whipped cream, cinnamon crunch. I guess we figured we needed a little bit of sweet with all of our savory!

Our son, who is 26 years old, took us to the Dam Tasty for breakfast on Mother’s Day. He had been telling us that he liked the food there, and let me tell you, he is fussy about his food and his coffee. My husband and I are breakfast lovers. We make sure it's our one big meal a day. While in La Crosse, came across a little restaurant with an impressive 5 star rating- and it did not disappoint. Took a train ride to La Crosse and came here for lunch. I had the french toast and the mushroom shawarma, and it was possibly the best meal I've ever eaten. I'm definitely going to come back here, despite being a 3 hour train ride away. The server we had was very kind and courteous, checked in plenty to make sure everything was okay, and the food came out very fast. The smoothies were also delicious. The food were great and bakery item was delicious. Service was top notch and quick once you are seated. We had lunch around 12.30 and they were almost out of bakery items at the front so its definitely more for breakfast. Serving size was generous and much better than many of the cafes in town.

I love coming to the damn tasty mainly for their breakfast and sourdough toast. I have never had Turkish eggs before but recently got them and they are amazing. Love the spice of the chili sauce and the freshness of the taziki. If you love Greek flavors this is the dish for you. The smoothies and the ham and potato hash are also classics. The coffees and service could be a bit better but I understand that they are a small establishment and can only do so much. Overall definitely a place to check out.

The food here is glorious! Big fan of the Turkish Eggs — the herbs and seasoning of the yogurt combined with the eggs and chili butter makes for a refreshing yet satiating meal. And although I prefer mine smooth, their spicy tomato bisque is quite nice!
Upon another visit, I discovered their Ham & Potato Hash is also incredibly delicious (LOVE the caramelized onions)! As is their Mushroom Shawarma and Breakfast Sandwich (of which I gratefully sampled from my partner and sibling, respectively).
My highest praises go to their baked goods — I want to point out that I’m not gluten-free, and tend to not seek out GF items as I often find them incredibly dry, but their GF Tiramisu cupcake? Amazing. Brilliant. Captivating. I would do anything to have one in my mouth right now. The texture was nicely spongey and the frosting was to die for.
My favorite baked goods from them are their citrus cakes and their savory puffs *especially*. I would also do quite literally anything to have a million of these at my disposal at any point in time. I could not stop raving about the Bacon/Ham/Cheese pastry I had a few weeks ago, it’d become my new obsession and muse.

Their baker is very talented, best apple crumb cake I've ever had.You can tell they use real vanilla bean paste in the frosting and take care to make every item not only delicious but beautiful. This was my first time eating here and the food and waitstaff were absolutely fantastic! I came with my son and his girlfriend and they have a small dog and were told they could bring her as the outside was dog friendly, but as we entered the restaurant there was a male employee at the register who was extremely rude and nasty to us about bringing her through the restaurant. We had parked out front as we were unaware of parking and access through the back. My son and his girlfriend have been here multiple times with their dog and had the owner and head chef take their orders inside before going outside and were NEVER told they couldn’t bring their dog inside!! We asked our server if we could walk back through the restaurant to leave as long as she was carried and she said absolutely! Then as we were leaving that same male employee reprimanded us and was NOT nice about it AT ALL!!! He was EXTREMELY rude and then watched him speaking to our server and we could tell from a distance he was not being nice to her either!!! So to be quite honest I will NEVER come back despite everything else being so fantastic! Thank you for the wonderful food and amazing service by the waitstaff but because of how he treated us I will not spend my money at this establishment again! Maybe you should post on your front door that if you’re bringing a dog to please do so through the back and that they are not welcome through the actual indoor portion of the restaurant to get to the outdoor area in the back!

We were looking for a new breakfast place to try in La Crosse and stumbled upon this one with a simple Google search. I have to say, I rarely give reviews but this one deserves a good one! This place is an hidden gem in Lax and I randomly came across it online. It’s a cute and lovely place, the atmosphere gave me city vibes. What fun spot to find in La Crosse!

Visiting the area, there was no recommendation, just did a search and decided to cross our fingers! Their menu is innovative and fresh! The staff was kind and courteous. Food was DELICIOUS.

I got a beermosa cause why not!!! Would've loved a selection of beers to sub than Miller Light (but I'm probably just a snob for craft beers ) It was still all the same delicioso!

For my main course, I got the kimchi and... just YES. Never would I think to eat kimichi for breakfast, not put on toast, nor put it with cream cheese?? Just yes yes yes. I should've ordered a second one?

My friends all Sang praises as well, but I was more into my plate

Being new to the area our sever was SUPER helpful. She recommended places for my friend And I to hit while in town. We really appreciated the time she took to list so many places!

We went for breakfast on a Friday morning. The pastries in the case in the front looked amazing, but I held out for the kimchi egg on sourdough. It came with two pieces of perfectly cooked thick sliced bacon & it was absolutely delicious. Three of our party had a ham & potato hash, which they all said was excellent. The fifth person had the Turkish eggs on toast that he loved. They all came with a small side salad that had a perfect vinaigrette. The coffee was hot & strong, and the service was terrific. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Very cool spot in and much needed area on The North Side of La Crosse! Grew up here and this area could be so great and hopefully this place helps start a trend! Even my 20yr old sister said “this doesn’t feel like the Northside” and I thought that was quite the compliment haha!

Counter service and seat yourself setup, with coffee offerings, pastries, and 5-6 breakfast options. I personally love the back patio with a good amount of picnic tables, and the brick building with ivy is beautiful and provide that classic historic vibe of La Crosse. Just need a proper busing station and garbage, the paper bag garbage outside was odd. Def could see some string lights and live music at night being really cool!

I had the Turkish eggs which were pretty good, the dish could probably use half as much greek yogurt. Otherwise everything was good! Eggs poached perfectly, chili oil gave a nice kick and the bread was on point. Herb scone was good too. My fiancé really enjoyed the potato hash, and the few bites I had were really good! The caramelized onions really add a great flavor. Strawberries n Cream French toast also got rave reviews.

Also should note they did make some basic French toast for one person I was with who has some food allergies, I thought that was a really good accommodation.

My couple suggestions: maybe doing a few things à la carte or a basic-ish dish, the menu is great but def foody geared…the area def warrants a few basic items. Maybe laminate the menus, and mention checking daily pastry and coffee specials, and better signage in front because all you see is the ugly yoga awning. OH, and ask people if they are sitting inside or out, so you can have people wait at their tables and staff can call order names inside and outside as well. This will help avoid congesting area near counter and entry!

High hopes for this place and “Old Towne North”, def come check it out for a tasty breakfast and lunch.

One of my absolute favorite places to go. THey earn their name with every meal I have there - it is truly Damn Tasty. The falafel I had today was so good, I had to restrain myself from licking the plate. It just feels "special" every time, like it is a treat to eat there because the staff is so friendly and the chefs obviously put a ton of care into each food item they produce. Consistently delicious, consistently beautifully presented, and consistently above my expectations. So grateful to have this gem in our community!

This place is so beautiful and charming, the music selection was the perfect vibe, the staff was gentle and kind hearted, the painting collection on the wall was fantastic, the coffee was strong! The food was bursting with flavors like fresh basil, pickled onions, tangy garlic sauce, glazed garden greens, perfectly cooked eggs. Gluten Free options! The restaurant was clean and busy. The owners were present and greeting customers. The prices were right on point with the quality, and something that a photo can't capture was the amazing atmosphere! Just Beautiful. The Damn Tasty catered for my bridesmaids and I the morning of my wedding and I cannot say enough about my interactions with the staff from ordering to pick-up. It was was such a nice and easy process and the food was SO GOOD. I had compliments from all my out-of-town friends.

First things first, the food was great! So if that was it this would be a five star rating. We have never been there before, so we were unfamiliar with the line system—pastries on one side, food on the other. We waited in the pastry line only to find out after 10ish min (line was out the door) that we were in the wrong line. Then had to go to the end of the food line. Staff was polite. You take a menu, sit wherever, then go up and order your food, get your own silverware, get your own water, pick up your food, eat your food, then clean your own table/dishes. Maybe this is a new trend, if so ok, but DONT ask for a tip. You should tip me for being a temp hostess/waitress/dishwasher.

Really fantastic little locally-owned cafe with excellent whole food and great service! I looked at ALL the area menus looking for something vegan and ended up having their down home hash minus the egg. (It had green goddess dressing which probably wasn’t vegan but I was ok with that.) I had the Ham and Potato Hash, and it was DAMN TASTY!!! Save some room for dessert... the Pistachio cake is incredible.

I kept an eye on what other people were getting, and I have to say that I didn't see anything come out of the kitchen that didn't look well, really damn tasty, too.

The service was excellent. The atmosphere is excellent. The music was really excellent. I will definitely be back.
