NOT IMPRESSED sat down took about 15-20 min to put in a order then waiting another 20 min for the food thought we had enough time to grab a quick bite but we're out of time before the food even got to my table..... then opened my container in the truck and burger was well well done cuz it sat on the grill while the cook chatted with customers on the other side of the building so expected it to be done according to the attention it was given also the lettuce is brown on the ends. Food was great and plentiful. We stopped in for breakfast and were greeted with friendly servers. Bacon is made exactly the way you want it on a scale of 1-9 I think. I prefer mine slightly crispy/slightly cherry and they did not disappoint. Just the way I like it. Reasonable prices and large helpings - very affordable. The ambiance of this place is very old school - red stools and benches with 1950’s type tables. Will definitely stop by again when going thru the area. Yum

We had brunch at The Diner today. It was a Saturday, so the restaurant was busy. We were quickly seated and had a delightful meal. The Cheese Omelette was cooked to perfection as was the whole wheat toast. My husband had eggs over easy, bacon, and toast. He enjoyed it as well! The owner is the cook. The waitress was friendly.

This is the kind of food that speaks to your soul. That good old comfort food that reminds you of a sat morning or Sunday morning after church. Comfort food that your grandma or mom would spend hours prepping and cooking for the family. Prices are hard to beat in today's economy and the amount of food is def a belly busting size. If you leave here hungry then its your own fault. The staff is friendly funny and all around amazing. Been home for vacation and eaten here twice in a week and if I had more time and money I'd probably eat here daily. They also have a pay it forward board where patrons can leave some money to buy some food for the less fortunate.

Service is always with smiles and jokes, staff makes you feel like family instantly with the care and laughter running through the place. Keeping your coffee filled is a big plus!

Great authentic diner!! Highly recommended. The food was typical greasy spoon; pancakes were just the way we like them - chewy, but not cakey. The samplers had everything we liked. We selected this restaurant as it had a cool retro diner look and classic breakfast options.
A man came into the restaurant and it was like a “Cheers” moment as everyone knew his name and greeted him. Unfortunately, he ended up getting sick and vomited on the floor which was near our table. It was quickly cleaned up and a staff member did ask if he should go home. He DID NOT leave.
About ten minutes later he vomited again about six times!!! Absolutely gross! The staff did get him to leave and offered him a ride home.
We appreciate that the staff was kind to this patron, but regardless of his situation, this should have never happened TWO times. It not only was super yucky, but a health hazard.
We will never return.

I came in and the restaurant was full which was okay we stood to the side to wait for a table. It's my daughter's birthday! I was patient. But they didn't acknowledge us at all. Then another couple walked in and took a booth right as it opened up when we were clearly waiting. I'm a single mom who parked on the street and hauled my kids inside only to literally receive no service. It was a sad experience we had higher hopes. No evidence of customer service here. I as a stranger would have helped me out more than the staff did. Please do better.

One of my favorite places in town to eat. The owner, Sandy, is always friendly when you walk in the door. The waitstaff is all so nice, friendly, and phenomenal at remembering customers and their regular orders. Ann, my favorite waitress of all time, always smiling and has the best sense of humor.
Whether your in the mood for breakfast or a good burger, this is the place to go. Pricing is very affordable & reasonable. And along with all of that, if there is something you wanting they don't have, talk to Sandy, she will go above and beyond to accommodate.

One word: FANTASTIC. My wife and I went here after walking up and down Main Street once we finished our last trip of this year to the Farmer's Market. I ordered what I always order, the Biscuits and Gravy with a side order of Hash Browns, and my wife had a Cheese Omelet. From the food to the conversation we had with the waitresses as well as with Sandy, we had a wonderful experience -- so much so that we both thought that going back more regularly was in order. There's something about sitting at the counter and having a meal while talking to the employees that's very comforting...it's something that's sadly lacking nowadays, at least in my opinion, and is a throwback to a bygone era where strangers at a small restaurant would actually engage with each other over a meal. I find, as I get older, that places like The Diner are more and more appealing...not just for the ( wonderful ) food but also for the atmosphere.

Old fashioned local diner. The experience was great. The owner was on site and the wait staff were awesome, friendly, knowledgeable and worked together. The food is your basic diner food but done right.
They even offer meals to the homeless. There are rules for this and when I inquired as to how this works the owner explained it and basically once every 7 days an individual can partake in this unique program. For a business owner especially at such a new location this is rare. This uses customer seating , time preparing and the giving away of food. Definitely not a profitable endeavor but obviously the owner cares and is giving back to her community. One wait staff shared how recently they had to enforce the rules need in order to keep the program going. This was not received well by the individuals but the owner and staff want to be able to continue to offer this so hard as it is the rules have to exist and be upheld. I really respect and admire their commitment.
I do not live in this area and we were passing through on our way to a funeral. We had a pleasant breakfast in a fun nostalgic atmosphere. Prices are very affordable and service was fast. I would definitely stop in again. I here the burgers are amazing so I will be back.

The food is good and the place is clean but me and my mother and brother are homeless and there’s a homeless thing where people can use tickets and get free food, the booths were all taken as usual and we sat in the chairs in front of the counter, and we had our tickets the waitress came and put them up, the cook turned around and said “where you here before?” And we said yes because we were there on Saturday LAST WEEK and she said “oh you can only come here once a week.” Which we ate last week. So we had to leave. If you’re not gonna serve the homeless to eat a little bit of breakfast because they don’t have the money. Don’t give the opportunity.

We did have to wait 30+ minutes for a couple of eggs and sausages/bacon, which we didn't expect from a diner. That short order cook needs a helping hand.

Preferably also someone to keep the butter bottle out of reach. We had to dab the grease off of eggs and meats both, because they were just swimming in it. Pancakes were basically only cooked on one side.

I'm sure this would improve if there was someone, for example, keeping eyes on the fryer, or taking care of assembly/expediting. She was doing all three.

Decided to finally go and check the place out since the new owner took over connies. Brought back so many great memories of going there with my parents and even working for Connie and wally for a short time and wanted to see how things are going.

I was surprised that it was pretty empty on a busy farmers market Saturday because I know it used to be packed from open til close, but happy to get a seat. Waitress was nice and very personable and welcomed me with a smile. I ordered 2 eggs medium eggs and bacon. It came out pretty swiftly and was ready to dig in. The eggs came out medium and got 3 pieces of bacon instead of 2! BUT all of it was super greasy and the bacon was limp and all fat. I ate the eggs and what I could salvage from the bacon that wasn't fat. (My stomach stomach acted up after I ate there and was the first and only thing I ate til my stomach settled...maybe it was the bacon and the excessive amount of grease that did me in)

Then I noticed that there was a burger patty out on the counter when I got there and stayed out almost the whole time. It disappeared when a couple next to me ordered a burger, BUT HOPE the counter patty got tossed and a fresh one was used.

The counter space was kinda cluttered (tickets being held down with what appears to be bolts? Just afraid one might fall in someones food) which I understand can happen when it's busy which has happened to me when I worked in food service, but if it's slow like the way it was there was plenty of time to clean things up. But understand it may not be on your mind at the moment.

I did see a customer that I would talk to when I worked there and was nice to catch up with him and to see he's doing well...
is it Connie's? No.

Honestly, the worst experience I've had at a small dinner before. I used to go to Connies now known as The Diner and had the best comfort food and really enjoyed the service, and atmosphere, everyone was so welcoming boy was I wrong since they changed management! The waitress was really rude, didn’t ask if our food was good, whether we needed refills, seams like she hates being there just as much as I did in that moment. I had a basic order of biscuits and gravy and eggs on the side. The biscuits were soggy, the gravy tasted like straight from a can and cold! Eggs weren’t seasoned and tasted like cardboard. Overall I do not recommend The Diner if you know it as Connie’s and expect the same experience!

She didn't even ask if anybody else wanted something to drink and then probably like 15 minutes after came around the ladies like are you ready with an attitude. Horrible customer service. The employees were clearly stressed and were literally yelling at each other in front of all of us customers. Took forever to get food. And when it did come we were served undercooked and practically unflavored potato’s. We were packed in like sardines and truly had no room to move. Not a family friendly place at all.
To top it all off we were upcharged about $10 to $15 and when we asked for them to double check the bill they added more to it, up-charging us even more.
Gave it a good try but my husband and I both agreed we will not be eating there again.

Absolutely love this little gem located on Main Street; downtown nostalgia at its finest! Best biscuits and gravy! Very happy experience which makes me a happy customer. A little pricey, but SO worth it! Make sure to check hours of operation before going!

Our server was friendly and polite but missed the mark on overall service. We had no silverware and 2 empty ketchup bottles. Had to ask repeatedly for coffee refills, new ketchup, extra sausage (amount initially brought was not as advertised on menu), and the check. The food was adequate, nothing special. The American fries were barely warm, and the toast also was cold. Once we finally got the check, we waited another 10 minutes before we finally had to track her down behind the counter to take our money. We try to patronize small town restaurants (as opposed to chains) when we travel and this place had great reviews. If in the area we may try again, but today we were not impressed.

A laid-back atmosphere and low murmur amongst patrons made for a chill environment! My wife and I stopped in for a late breakfast (10am CST), and the diner was fairly busy, however not overcrowded! The server (Brianna) was attentive to us prior to us ordering! She was great about making us aware of drink options (sounds silly, however some places do not!). Despite there being only 2 worker up front, the 2 of them handled the workload, rather impressively! Food was made and served nearly immediately! No keeping warm under a HUGE halogen light. Food was not overdone, which is NIIICE!! Plates and utensils were all clean! No stuck on food, etc... The bill came and was $10 less than I'd guessed (see photo of bill). My wife and I were both completely satisfied and our stomachs filled. We tried this on a whim... however, we will DEFINITELY patronize this establishment again. Unfortunately we were unable to meet the new owner, Sandy! Hopefully, we will have the opportunity to meet her on a future visit! There are definitely other factors which would have earned 4 stars (cleanliness, etc)

Overall, I'd recommend this place for a quick meal in a chill environment!

This place is all about the nostalgia of the great vintage diner. Food made fresh to order right in front of you. Servers writing down orders on tickets. Probably the only place still in town that you can run into a farmer, a priest and a couple of high school sweethearts sitting in a booth and watching the world pass by. Good food and good vibes.

Last week, I was just filling one of these out for Oasis, saying how their pancakes were out of this world, I can say the The Diner has the best pancakes ANYWHERE. Like there is no competition anymore, this is top notch, if you want good pancakes, this is your spot, own it, thank me later! Don't even think your nanna's pancakes could stand a chance against these pancakes.

Also their eggs? Cage free farm fresh eggs! This is the real deal here. Authentic 60s diner.

Prices are extremely cheap! Like were talking early 2000s prices!
