Love The Dock! The food is always delicious. Try the pizzas, burgers, mac & cheese and cheese curds. They are often short staffed but as long as you aren't in a huge rush and you want to enjoy the atmosphere of a Northwoods bar, you are good! Kids like to play darts and/or pool while waiting for food. Bonnie, the owner, is awesome!

This review is difficult because my family and I have been going to this location for 30+ years since it was Gumpy's then Sammy's and have made it a regular part of our stays. Unfortunately, we are unlikely to return due to the service we received in July '23. It took 2 hr and 15 min from when we arrived to when our food was received. We have two small children that made this an extremely trying experience. If we had not been long time patrons, we would have left after 45 minutes while others around us arrived, ate, and departed. We also made it clear someone in our party was allergic to wheat and they were served a pile of wheat flour nachos even after confirming the nacho cheese was wheat free. This could have seriously worsened an already tough situation. We were consulted at the end of the meal and received some compensation without asking for it, which is a positive. Based on our experience, the Dock is neither kid friendly nor set-up for timely dinner service, and we would only recommend it for enjoying some waterside drinks or snacks.

We just had drinks and dinner with my nephew. The ambiance is exactly what I had hoped for. Locals enjoying good drinks and conversation around a rustic cabin feel bar. The cocktails were generous and the steaks tender and juicy. Smothered porkchops ...omg. Highly recommend!!

Bonnie's chicken wings are the best! They're bigger than The Bar or BWW. The smoked wings are unbelievably moist and well-flavored. Highly recommend!!

We stopped here on our snowmobiles half hour before the kitchen closed. They said they couldn't make us food, but would make us a pizza. The cook surprised us and made us an appetizer anyways! The bartender was amazing and she made sure you didn't have an empty drink!

Unfortunately I can't give a good review on this place. My husband and I loved Sammy's and it was replaced by a low end bar.

We went for drinks the first time and were served 4 different old fashioned's because they couldn't keep them consistent. My husband ordered a sour and was given a sweet every time. They were using old-fashioned syrup and didn't understanding that makes it a sweet! I was upset that they couldn't do a simple old-fashioned right and cheaped out with syrup. If I wanted a cheap drink I can make them at home for less money.

We came back weeks later for some food and again our drinks were wrong and we sat for almost an hour for an appetizer which was basic nachos.

We risked it a third time hoping that given time the food and service would get better but nope! We got sandwiches and fries. Simple enough. The sandwiches were flavorless and the fries were soggy with grease. I couldn't even finish and we paid way to much.

Over all it was bad every time. The wait is to long for bad food, bad atmosphere, and bad drinks.

Very slow service. Was not busy. Waited at the bar for a drink. Asked 3 people for a table and menu. Was only group of 4 one sitting in dining room. Waited an hour. Brought a wrap for 1 order. Waited another 15 minutes before they brought the chicken sandwich. Brought the special which was poor man's lobster but only that, never got the potatoes and never got the other order which was the same wrap. No water no offer to get a drink while we waited. Won't go back. Every time we've been there, superslow service.

My family and I came here for dinner and drinks on a Tuesday night. It was our first time here since the new ownership. The food was really good - the house burger, won ton chicken pasta, smothered pork chops and pulled pork sandwich were delicious! The food came out relatively fast. Service was decent as well, just have a good sense of humor when you come here :)

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a new bar and grill. Before even getting served our drinks the bartender complained about 3 employees who didn't show up. Said she hated them and they are fired. We Proceeded to be seated at a table to eat. Took and hour and a half to get our food that came cold to our table. Terrible

A honest 2.5, I love the food and the atmosphere but the service is subpar at its best. Food takes forever to get to you and even longer to even be seated. Today took 2 hours before we even got our menus. And the place wasn't even that packed, the bar was busy but not the rest of the place The food took about 30 minutes to come. But if your willing to wait this long the food is pretty good, expectially the walleye

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Ownership and staff are as rude as it gets. If you aren’t a regular, don’t even bother going in. We’ve tried going in multiple times in the last few years and every time we go, we are completely ignored at the door. The one time we actually got food, it took well over an hour and it was very subpar. We had to constantly ask for service as the employees ignored us while only giving attention to the regulars at the bar.

Went there from out of town for the weekend. Friday fish fry was awesome. Bartender told us an hour before the waitress would take our order. Was hour and a half. The bartender was prompt with service.
Saturday left a bar in Elcho where we could've ordered pizza to go there. Wasn't nearly as busy. Bartender again was prompt and friendly. Waited more than 15 minutes for waitress to stop at our table. Watched the bartender point our table out. After 5 more minutes, still no waitress, so we left without eating.

This was a disappointment from the start. When we walked in to get our drinks it took the bartender around 10 minutes to get our three waters and two beers. We told the hostess that we wanted to eat and went to the waiting tables. We waited at the waiting tables for an hour and a half, before we received out menus with no hope of getting a real table, so we left. I really wanted this place to be good and hope that this review brings their problems to the owners light. I’ve heard great things about Sammy’s, but after this experience I wouldn’t go back.

Arrived at 6:45 on a Sunday night. It was not that busy but they would only serve three tables at a time so as to not overload the kitchen. They told us that after we ordered drinks. So we finished our drinks and ate some stale popcorn that was for sale in bags. Bar tender didn’t know the WiFi password. So we left because it wasn’t clear when we would be able to order and eat.

They even tried “customer shaming” us to other customers... downright unprofessional, rude, and unacceptable. My family and I stumbled upon this bar/restaurant while out ATVing on Memorial Day weekend. In short, this place has great food, great prices, and great service!! We will definitely be going back. We walked in and the place was pretty packed so we didn’t know what to expect. We were seated right away. Although it was busy, our waitress (and bartender), Megan was very informative that it might take her a little time to get back to us. She knew the menu like the back of her and was quick to offer suggestions and explanations of the food items. There were 5 of us total, and we all loved what we ordered and had a great experience.
