I cannot rave. It wasn't bad per se, it's just not good. Decor really isn't anything special or even mediocre. Just sort of a regular old Wisconsin bar.
We sat at the bar and our bartenders/servers were nice, but not exceptional. The food was nothing special either. The relish tray was nice, but a cup of 2 pieces of salami with 2 cheese cubes made me feel like I was at Uncle Jethro's Annual Picnic.
We opted for the Seafood DeJong. It was sort of just a tasteless melted together casserole of frozen fish and taste-free sauce.
The icing on the cake that prompted this review though, were the Old Fashions garnished with an OLIVE! More than once and not because someone asked for it. We also witnessed a tall Old Fashioned made. A tall Old Fashioned.... and, again, garnished with an OLIVE!

So, if you are a foodie or a proper diner, this place is not. It is, however, THE spot in town and the service was nice.

Elias is NOT the same! One guest at my table had the fried shrimp. The shrimp was almost black around the edges - over fried and dried out. Not edible though he politely ate 3 of 6 shrimp at 22 a plate with fries. No salads, just the lazy susan with no veggies, no cheese, no patè, no breadsticks (and you think of yourself as a supper club!?) Another guest's garlic shrimp alfredo... little or no garlic - not even noticiable. This is not the Elias I knew and loved for so many years. New ownership gets no endorsement here. Would have been better off closing up shop. How embarrassing that we had an out of town guest too! Went to ice cream parlor for dessert since none was offered by waitress. Had to ask for water refill and only I was served while others at the table were also out of water. Unbelievable. Don't waste $100+ on dinner for four.

Cute lazy susan relish tray and cozy atmosphere that immediately took us back in time. Cheese curds and prime rib were okay. Stuffed shrimp and risotto were delicious. Also appreciated that they had NA ice cream drink options.

First time here. Just happened to find the place by driving by a few days prior to our visit. I called at 4pm and was able to get a 6:30pm reservation for 2 on a Sat night. The relish tray was ok. We ordered the baked French onion soup which must have been served right from Mercury, because it took a while to cool to a temperature that was feasible to put in our mouth. After that, we left it. There was hardly any onions, no taste/ flavor and topped with the wrong cheese. I had told the waitress we were French onion soup connoisseurs and she didn't even question when she cleared away our half eaten bowls! I don't recommend. We also had the king cut and queen cut prime rib. The king appeared to be same size as queen. Good flavor. Only creamy horseradish, not pure served. Was halfway done when waitress finally checked on us. Each had a couple beers, no dessert. Total bill was $111.

We had a lovely time. I must say we are very picky with food....foodies you could Sat. The fare at Elias is amazing, full of flavor, unique, and presented well. Presentation to the eyes is the first "taste", and Elias and Sobies does this perfectly. The wine was outstanding as well.

Food was very good, but it seems that you have to wait an hour to have the waitress rush you, ignore you, and serve you as if you have no business being there. I get you have to move tables but the waitress could not even finish a sentence without turning to walk away. On top of that, you have to wait forever to get a drink too. To bad because the food it really good but not worth the bad service rushed atmosphere

Elias Inn Supper Club certainly delivers a great meal and experience on all levels. We were warmly greeted and confirmed our reservation with the hostess as we entered the bar area. As we waited for the rest of our party, we enjoyed a drink in the bar area. After enjoying Old Fashioneds and wine, we took our seats in the quaint dining area. The relish lazy Susan relish tray and bread basket were an excellent starter. The baked French onion soup was also amazing. We enjoyed prime rib, crab stuffed shrimp, and seafood de jonghe. All were delicious! We ended the meal with a pink Cadillac and a grasshopper. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and attentive. It was a wonderful experience!

Wonderful evening last night at The Elias Inn Supper Club in Watertown, courtesy of our cheerful, delightfully kind and attentive server Whitney H. The Elias Inn is the undisputed king of the relish tray - brought to the table on its own lazy Susan. Good thing we had an empty seat at our table. πŸ˜‚ I had the Queen cut prime rib and the ladies had the ribeye steak sandwich special - both entrees superb, seasoned and cooked to perfection. I also can’t remember a time I wanted to rave about mashed potatoes (well… not true - it was the last time my mom made them for me) but still, they were positively delicious and I would actually recommend them. Brandy Old Fashioned Sweets were also top notch. We capped off the night with a Brandy Alexander for us and a Grasshopper for our guest of honor. If you’re anywhere near Watertown, treat yourself to a fantastic meal. And ask for Whitney. She’ll carry it over the goal line for you.

First thing, we have been eating here for the past 18 years. This is the first time back since the new owners.
Started with a Wisconsin must-have, a Korbel brandy Old Fashion. The 4 we ordered were the worst we have had. Might as well been as glass of water.
We all ordered Baked French Onion soup. There was no cheese and no taste. Worst we have ever had.
Service was very poor, the dishes from the relish tray and the soup sat on the table and no one would clear them off. Finally, I got the hostess to clear the table after asking her.
One of us ordered the Sea food pasta. No seasoning. Buttered noodles only. Over cooked seafood. The rest had Prime rib was ok. Over priced food and drinks. Will not go back.

Very nice German themed Super Club in Watertown. The building is classic Supper Club with lots of old wood and a nice bar.

I had an old fashioned, it was muddled and fresh, but seemed to be lacking something.

The service was great, helpful and knowledgeable without being overbearing.

This place still has a free Relish Tray, which was refreshing, with a nice selection of veggies and cheeses. Definitely a plus.

I had the Veal Schnitzel, which came with soup or salad, I got both. The salad was fresh and tasty. The soup (beef stew) was good, could have been warmer. My friend got the French Onion and said it was thick and great. The Schnitzel was cooked perfectly and I would get it every time I go here. Menu didn't mention it comes with SptΓ€tzle, so was happy to see that included and was also very good.

Definitely a recommended stop if looking for a place to eat in Watertown.

Wow! A great tasting meal in a quaint supper club! The five of us enjoyed our reasonably priced dinners which included a choice of soup or salad AND a delicious lazy Susan (salads, cheeses, pickles, veggies, dinner rolls and bread sticks!). Many fine dining places charge additional for your salads or soups. When in Door County we paid $12 for a super club lazy susan that wasn’t near as lovely as the Elias Inn one. Service was excellent too!

We have eaten here twice, the last time being the Friday fish fry. I will be reviewing our fish fry experience. We arrived around 6 and were told there would be a short wait. The hostess appeared extremely stressed out. It wasn't a warm welcome. We proceeded to wait in the bar area, and my partner went up to the bar to get drinks. The two bartenders completely ignored him as they slowly went about their business- they weren't overly busy but I understand that appearances can be deceiving. My partner felt that they should have at least acknowledged his presence since there weren't many people that needed to be served at the bar. It was odd that one of the bartenders didn't at least see him and say they would get back to him when they had a minute. Eventually, without drinks, he left the bar to wait with me at a table. Luckily, our wait for dinner wasn't too long and the hostess led us to our table. Halfway through the walk, the hostess got a phone call on a phone she was carrying, stopped and took the call. She then turned around and gave us an odd look like we weren't following her properly or something. We were led to a table that was two small tables pushed together. The plates were positioned on the crack between tables. We moved those over to one of the tables and sat down. My partner sat in the chair on one side and I sat on the bench on the other side that was shared with two other tables. The bench was uncomfortable and awkward. I either had to lean way back for back support or lean forward with none. There was an empty table across the room that had two chairs and I wish we would have been seated there. This may have also helped us with the sound level in the room. I could hear everything said on either side of us. The young women to my right were especially loud making it almost impossible for us to talk to each other unless we stared yelling, too. The room is like a small cavern with nothing to dampen the sound level. This made it especially difficult for my partner who wears hearing aids. One more note about the room- the gold tinted windows that my partner was facing that were behind me made it difficult for him to see my face. He said my face was in the shadow from the bright glow. So he couldn't hear me or see me! We eventually gave up and just ate. Now on to the food and service. Our server seemed friendly enough at the start but things changed as the dinner progressed. She never explained the fish fry. She also seemed stressed out. Other servers appeared more friendly and relaxed. (Maybe just our bad luck.) We got our drinks and ordered the all you can eat fish fry ($19). One note on the chardonnay I received- it was not very good. It was quite weak and watery. I noticed this right away. I was surprised when the bill came and it cost $9! Anyway, one positive is that the food was pretty good. I only ate a chicken wing so it's hard to say how the chicken was, but the fried fish was decent and our first serving of baked fish was also good. The side dishes were okay, but the German potato salad would have benefited from some bacon to cut the taste of the dressing down. The problem with the food came when we asked for more. We wanted some more of a side dish but she acted like this is an unusual request. We did get some more coleslaw and, one small piece of fried fish, and two tiny pieces of over-baked fish. This was all seemingly disapproved of by our server who appeared bothered that we asked for anything extra even though we didn't get much to start with. We were also left for long periods of time without her checking in on us. We didn't eat a large amount of food and we weren't annoying. At the end of the meal we were not asked if we wanted coffee or dessert, or anything else. We were not allowed to take home the one piece of chicken, a thigh, or french fries we were given at the start! This was a very bad experience for us. When we go out to eat we like relax and talk while we enjoy the food and atmosphere. We will not go back.

The prime rib was good, mashed potatoes a little thin, asparagus was good. However, if you were ever there prior to the new owners, it is a bit of a disappointment. I understand prices have gone up, but part of the 'charm' of this supper club was the separate courses of soup or salad, juice or cottage cheese, and then a cake holder full of custard cups with cole slaw, crab salad, macaroni salad, pickles, hearing, cheese spreads, carrots/celery, etc. Now, in order to get any one of the 4 plus participate in the cake holder, you are charged an extra $6 per person. The only 'salad' was some kind of pickled cranberry thing. If you have never been there, it is good and you'll enjoy it. If you knew what it once was, it's a pass.

A group of 14 people had reservations last night at the Elias Inn. We were promptly seated. Our hostess and waitress were very attentive. Several of our drinks β€œmissed the mark”. They seemed to be missing the alcohol!! Our food was overly salted. Hard to eat….the steak, veggies, spatzle, and schnitzel. Our only mistake was not saying something at the time. We really enjoyed our time here. The broasted chicken and the alfredo with chicken came out fresh and hot. Both were 10/10. The seasoned French fries are a must try. What we really liked were the entrees came with soup, salad, and a lazy Susan relish tray. The lazy Susan is the first item brought out, and it's just fun to try all that is offered on it like cheese, beet salad, Artichoke dip, etc. Also, the staff were wonderful. The Elias Inn is a great place and they truly offer fine dining

A gin Martini (Bombay Sapphire)was a poor/short/cheap pour, the
dry vermouth was sour, and the overprice was $10.00. The ribeye was a good cut, cooked well, but I don't understand why it tasted so bland; very unusual for a ribeye. We're not going back.

Service was great, staff was very friendly. Relish tray was great.
The dining room was a little smaller, but we were seated shortly after our reservation time. Food tasted good for all, but prime rib (I had the large cut) was very thin when compared to other comparably priced restaurants and supper clubs. Still very much worth a stop if you are looking for a nice supper club to visit.

Stopped on a Friday, while in Watertown, limited Friday lunch menu was smaller but had some decent non fish fry options (I was gonna have one with my wife later). I had the Chopped Steak Sandwich. It was chopped prime rib with horseradish cream, sauteed mushrooms, onions and peppers on a toasted French bread served au jus and topped with a pile of fried onion strings. It was an awesome sandwich. Very cool smaller supper club.

Bartender was extremely rude and disrespectful to all guests. All of the seafood was undercooked. The 1 bite of the scallops and 1 bite of lobster I took both had the consistency of jello. The filet mignon was overcooked and had no flavor. I should've stayed home and had a frozen pizza with more flavor for $6 instead of paying over $150 for a sit down with no flavor. This is dogfood and ruined one of the only nights out I have in a long time.

Over priced under the new ownership. Service is sub par. I don’t feel like they have the personal experience you used to get. Atmosphere is still cozy, but the seating is relatively uncomfortable and packed-in. The food was nothing to boast about and I recently found out that they pre-muddle their old fashioneds and let them sit under plastic wrap on the bar. I understand it’ll cut down time during peak dining hours, but (in my opinion) that’s kinda gross to just let the fruit sit on the bar. What happened to making cocktails on the spot?? Overall disappointed with this restaurant (& I really love supporting local businesses as well as supper clubs).

Tonight was our 1st trip there for friday fish fry since new owners. It saddens me to say we will not go back. The coleslaw was not good. Nothing like before. The baked beans different & not to our liking. Different breading on the fish, greasy. German potato salad was a little different but good. Fries seemed the same. Chicken seemed better. The old Elias Inn fish fry was always so good. Don't try & fix what's not broken. That used to be our favorite fish fry. We'd drive 30 minutes to get there & wait the 45 min to an hr to be seated cause it was so worth it. Got there at 4 tonight to beat the crowd we expected. No crowd. Not all the tables were full when we left & the bar was empty. Not the usual seen we've been used to. I would suspect we're not the only one's who don't like the change in the food.

Was not aware of the family style fish dinner. Food was ok. German potatoe salad was way too sweet. And slaw had alot to be desired. Fish both fried and baked was good and so was the chicken but the sides, not so much. I have to review new owners. Wait staff excellent. Soup was exceptional but prime rib was actually cold when served. Ordered medium came very rare. 90% of prime rib was not edible. My partners was just like mine. In fact he phoned me the next day complaining about tbe 80 dollars he spent on a meal he could not eat. Sent meal back to get warmed up and came barely warm. Will not visit again. Have to give 1 star for wait staff not horrible food.

Not as good as it was in the past. The soup was great, but the prime rib was only ok, and the baked potato was lukewarm. The scallops entree only included three scallops, which isn't a good deal considering the price. Hopefully they were having an off-night, but not a good first impression from the new owners.

I heard on the grapevine that the Elias Inn was new, but still its good old self. I ordered the stuffed shrimp, and they were incredible. Old school flavors without heavy breading. When my husband snagged a bite, he closed his eyes in delight. He had the stroganoff, which was the other item I wanted to order. I grabbed the first bite, and it was perfect. So tender, and tasty, and spaetzle in my favorite shape. The Old Fashions were perfect. The whole evening was wonderful. Thank you for saving such a beloved place.

Honestly, we were super let down by this place. First off we went on a Friday night and didn’t find out they do not have a full menu on Friday nights until after we waited for our table, sat down and ordered drinks and then the waitress told us that it is only family style fish and chicken on Fridays. The hostess didn’t say anything nor did we see any sign by the door, host stand or bar area where we waited stating this. This was a huge bummer to my husband who was looking forward to their more German style food menu.

We stayed and sadly the fish and chicken were nothing to rave about. For a Wisconsin fish fry, I definitely wouldn’t return here for the bland fish. We shared a tray of potato salad, beans, bread and coleslaw. The fries weren’t warm at all when served to us.

Our brandy old fashions were good but our glasses sat empty while we ate and our waitress never offered to get us another. I also found it odd that she didn’t offer any refills of sides. For 4 people the small bowls of potato salad and coleslaw seemed so odd and they were all emptied quickly.

Great cozy atmosphere but all in all, it was a sad experience for a supper club.

I was at Elias Inn Saturday night under new ownership. Dinner room was freezing! Lazy Suzy the same, salad not so much, had to ask twice for extra cheese and croutons. Dinner, prime rib and lobster. Not even close to the flavors of the past. Wishing them the best but didn't have John Elias's touch. I know I was a waitress there for 5 years.

I recently visited the Elias Inn Supper Club for a Friday Fish Fry and was pleasantly surprised to learn the Fish Fry includes Fried Chicken, Fried Cod and Baked Cod served family style with the sides featured on a Lazy Susan. All the food dishes served were very good along with the service. The restaurant does get quite busy on Friday so be prepared for a wait. The Elias Inn Supper Club does unfortunately fall short on the value scale as the only Fish Fry option available is all you can eat. 4.0 (5.0 if you typically order all you can eat).

This is easily one of the best supper clubs we have been to in the state. The tray with salads, and dips was great and then followed up with a good soup and salad. The prime rib and shrimp was very good. The tap beer selection was also good. Server and hostess were excellent. Just a great place to eat.

This place is charming and has the best all you can eat fish fry. Trust me, I have tried many places over the years and this is the best.
I have not had it yet, but I hear the Prime Rib is amazing too! I am so grateful it’s a mile down the road. You will want to come early to avoid the crowd but that is expected at any place that has excellent food. Love this Supper Club!

Cozy, quaint place with traditional supper club food. The whole night was an experience, from drinks at the bar, to the relish tray, to soup/salad, to the entree (with sides), to finally dessert. The staff know how to make your dinner perfect, the food is a gastronomic delight, and the ambiance makes you all warm and fuzzy. 10 stars!!!

Fish fry was mediocre. The baked cod tasted better than the beer battered and chicken. French fry oil tasted old. I've heard great things about this place, will try to go on a different day. Only fish fry's are available on Fridays, nothing else.

I had one of the best dinners EVER, at the Elias Inn. What a great supper club experience. Perfectly mixed brandy old fashioned, wonderful relish tray with plenty of tasty tidbits. Soup and salad were outstanding. And then the entree arrived. I had the shrimp and prime rib special and it did not disappoint. Shrimp were tender and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of garlic. The prime rib was outstanding! Even though it was the smaller cut it was thick and meaty, not at all fatty. Just delicious!! If you're looking for awesome food, great service, and the quintessential supper club experience, the Elias Inn is a great choice.

Was looking forward to a good fish fry after a long day of work. Ordered a fish fry to take home. When I got home, I was very disappointed to find two tiny pieces of fried fish, 1 piece of baked ( yuck) and 2 pieces of fried chicken (on a Friday during lent!!!). I oasis $16 for this???
