A Sunday evening dinner with family. It was not busy. We were seated immediately. The large booths comfortably seat 6 people. There is extensive drink menu for both cocktails as well as their crafted beers. Everything was mixed well. If you enjoy thin crust this is a place to visit. They offer flatbreads, pizzas, and calzones. We ordered 3 flat breads and a stuffed meatball pasta dish. The Flatbread is light enough for one person, but also sufficient enough for 2 to share. The onion soup was also flavorful. The dinning area was quiet enough for conversations, whereas the bar area was typically louder with the football games on the big screen tvs. A place worth stopping into.

Don’t advertise curry fries if you don’t have curry fries. We had a friend in from Ireland and he was excited to see them in the menu but it was just “curry” seasoning on fries.

Nice spot for a drink or meal, either indoors or outdoors. Service is great, and they have one of the best beer selections in the area. Flights are 3 so choose wisely...or have two! 🍻 food portions were huge, we ordered two apps (pictured) and I ended up boxing my whole sandwich bc I was too full. Paid for a side salad upgrade and wish I hadn't. It was a bunch of huge leaves, which were not very crunchy and awkaward to put in my mouth. The balsamic dressing was meh. Otherwise the food was really good; appetizing and it paired well with the beers, but not spectacular/top tier. You could do way worse for pub food. But also....isn't 90% of dining in the southern mke suburbs just dofferent versions of pub food?!?!?! That being said, I give Explorium a solid 4.6/5. We are repeat customers.

Used to be good. We've gone to Explorium for years, in the beginning and for several years it was great. The past three times the food has been awful and now overpriced for what you get. Surprisingly the tap beer which used to be very good was horrible, for the first time in my life I actually had to send a beer back because of extra non-beer flavors in the beer. Second beer just as bad. *A tip for management, make sure staff provides adequate clean water to rinse your glasses so a person can enjoy the taste of the beverage within the glass. Everything about the food has gone down hill..quality..quantity..taste..price..presentation. I also have no idea what this coleslaw they serve is, literally a small cup with a tablespoon of chopped up jalapeno relish or something. I would hope that they can do at least a good burger still but everything else we've had recently has been thumbs down, especially the fish fry.

I should mention though that the service/waitstaff is still good.

This is simply an outstanding place. Two of our kids have Celiac, so we have to avoid gluten everywhere we go. Many restaurants accommodate this ok, but Explorium does it next level. Gluten-free options for just about everything they make, including their beer. And trust me, you won't even realize it was gluten free. Wonderful place. Milwaukee is lucky to have it.

The first time I went here, everything was wonderful - Drinks, food and the bartenders were great. The last several times i have been here, several of the bartenders were very rude and not helpful. Sadly the quality here has diminished. Ordered food for pickup tonight but also the last time we ate there as well. Not as good as it used to be. Wet pickles were thrown on top of our fries and tater tots, didn't order pickles and they just included them. Ruined the food! Then the extra dressing we were charged for wasn't even provided. The calzone was poorly made, doughy, and wayyyy to much cheese, husband fed it to the dog! Not sure what is going on but this restaurant does not have quality standards anymore.

Went here for my 8 month anniversary with my boyfriend. I came from out of town. (I travel a lot between the northern Wisconsin and Southern Wi area’s). And I absolutely LOVED it here! Terrible experience today. Waitstaff was not friendly. Came at 12.30 today after walking past at 11:30 and it was dead. No fish, no straws, out of our control, not offered water, or given specials. I would give it a 3 star overall, but the service was so lacking and the food so bland that it is hard to do that. Decent choices, good burger but the soup tasted like it was out of a can and had zero flavor--not even salt. The server checked in one time and therefore we went without drinks the entire meal. Had an excellent time here with my sister last night. I hadn’t been in a while, knew they had a good menu with a good amount of gf options and good drinks— all reasonably priced too.
We asked to be seated outside last night. The fire pit is a nice addition for the atmosphere, and I liked they didn’t seat us right next to another table.
Our server, Nick, was amazing. Really amped up our visit there. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful (asked a food runner a question about our meal and he was able to give me a good answer, and also sent our server back over to confirm the answer he gave us. 10/10 with that).
They make a really awesome Moscow Mule here. Very fresh and light. My sister ordered a mojito and was talking all night about their lemon drop martini.
We ordered 3 food items— the steakhouse pizza on a gf crust, Reuben dip, and truffle fries.
They brought us out fresh fries which was a major bonus in my book. I’m usually not too picky with my fries but Nick had told us those would be coming out a second later than the rest of our food because they were being made fresh. I’ve had the heat lamp fries and you can tell a difference so that was very appreciated. My sister loved her Reuben dip— another item she couldn’t stop talking about. And we split the steakhouse pizza which was so tasty (this was the food item I had a question about— their gf crust was SO good I was skeptical after the first bite. They informed me it was gf and they recently made some swaps to the menu to make even more gf options which is something I did actually notice on their menu. Something I love to see as someone with a sensitivity).
Overall a really awesome time, great food, great spot, and a huge shoutout to Nick for the service!

Just spent $80.00 on a dinner for two that was absolutely horrible. This place is a joke and overpriced. We ordered baked English onion soup & the flavor of the day soup which was jalapeño popper. Neither of them had much flavor. Then we shared a pizza and a banh mi sandwich. The sandwich had a horrible odor to it and the pork was mushy and completely flavorless. Nothing like a banh mi sandwich at all. The pizza looked delicious, but that too was very tasteless. The sauce was very minimal and the traces of sauce you did bite into tasted like plain tomato sauce from a can with no spices added to it for flavor. We tried to add salt, pepper, hot pepper flakes and parmesan cheese to improve the taste, but that did not help at all. Needless to say, the only items we finished were our soups. I'm sure our waitress could tell we were disappointed with our meal as she did not offer any to-go containers which we would have declined anyway. We left there feeling very unsatisfied and completely ripped off for the price we paid. Do yourself a favor and skip going here.

Last Friday, August 9, 2024, everything on point: fish fry golden brown, fries a good size, good texture, bread, fresh. One week later August 16, 2024, fish fry overdone. I think this was not only due to the timing but the oil needed to be changed. Dark bits on the crusty batter. The over all tastes of the cod was overwhelmed by the taste of the hard crusty batter. Fries were have size, like leftovers, bottom of the barrel. Bread stale. Service was only some what attentive this time. More attention on the patio seating the week before.The baked English onion soup was served tepid. Previous week, it was hot off the stove, cheese nicely roasted. The right temp brings out the flavor. The fish fry is inconsistent from week to week. Disappointed. Will order only BAKED cod from now on. Both summer Fridays, mid to late afternoons, not busy. Not like it used to be a year ago in August, when patio seating was much more filled. Indoor seating down as well. Lonely, three people at a table the other end of the big dining area. Atmosphere: some one chose aggressive rock, punk rock maybe from the ninties. Expresses the feelings of the people working there! Enervating! Something going on. Will waite a year before going back.

Way expensive for what I got. $20 for a burger that I asked for medium rare, and I got served a WELL done burger. Disappointing in having high hopes for a great place to eat at. Service was VERY slow and my partner and I couldn’t wait to just leave. My partner and I’s bill was nearly $90 for two burgers and an appetizer (which was the best part). Good experience. Came on a weekday lunchtime and was easy to find a table (mostly empty) outside. Service was just how I like it. Polite and attentive but not overbearing. Food was very good. Bison burger was nice and juicy, wings were tasty and crispy and the basic beef burger, also fresh and tasty. Truffle fries could have been warmer but were still very good. The main star here is the beer and the couple I had were excellent. Had it not been a lunchtime, I would probably have stopped for more. Very highly recommended for the beer lovers. All in all, a very pleasant lunch at a reasonable price. Would recommend a visit.

We stopped here last Saturday for dinner while driving through the area. So happy we did!. We came at about 545 with a table of two and had no wait. We ordered a calzone, Parmesan garlic wings that had a homemade ranch dressing and blue cheese dressing and the French onion soup. We did not order any beer as we are not beer drinkers. The menu said the calzone had a 30 minute wait time. I don’t think it took that long, but I did not time it. The French onion soup was delicious. It had a good amount of cheese to bread to onions and broth. The wings were fall off the bone and we were very impressed by the ranch dressing. The calzone was very tasty. We could’ve used some more marinara sauce as the ramekin it came out in is rather small. We did not ask for extra though as we took half of it home. There was plenty of food between the three things to feed two of us. I would definitely recommend eating here and will return the next time. I’m driving through that part of town.

The food we had was very good. We had a berry chicken wrap. No complaints there. The service was not good. We sat at the bar. We were there at least five minutes, possibly longer before anyone even acknowledged us. We ordered a flight of 3 beers. We eventually finished those and our food arrived in a timely manner. We had to ask for napkins and ketchup. There were at least 5 people working the bar. Not one of them addressed us after we received our food. We were not asked if we would like another beer. This was probably a 20-30 minute timeframe. We then had to ask for our check. We would have liked to have sat and drank a few beers and watched the brewers game. Instead, we left and went to a different location to watch the game. Our service was not good.

We arrived right at noon for lunch and the place quickly filled up around us so our server was running his butt off but kept our sodas full and kindly pointed out the basket of napkins already on our table when he was flagged over in request of more napkins because the jalapeno burger was delicious but that beer cheese WAS messy.
I love perogies and all things fried but I'm still trying to decide if I liked these deep fried perogies as much as the typical...(Steamed?) Variety but they WERE good.
And I got the grilled cheese (called something else I don't remember) less the tomato but added ham. Perfectly toasted melty deliciousness.

Stacy was the best server I’ve had in years!!! She was friendly, accommodating, and fast with all her service! Working in the service industry is not easy by any means and she makes it look like she’s happy to help us. She deserves a raise more than any server I’ve met. After going here many times over the years and seeing the reviews I feel the need to write an honest review. The drinks are definitely the high point here, no complaints at all. The food is a little pretentious though considering it's largely prepackaged, frozen, and overpriced. Places like this are renowned for having the classic 3 overpriced tacos with mango pico with prepackaged meat, I know it is prepackaged because we tried subbing and they told us they can't because it is in fact prepackaged meat and fish. I also tried the bacon jam burger this time which the bacon jam was extremely salty, the bleu cheese was a weird choice, and the bison burger had good natural flavor but clearly prepackaged as well. The salmon is also pretty bland for $20 dollars but everyone seems to overcharge for salmon so thats alright. Would recommend the Nashville hot chicken sandwich though as it is the best thing we've had there. With the food not being freshly made it shouldn't take as long as it does, we always come in around 11am on week days so they are never busy. Also the waitress we seem to always get is good with following up but could at least pretend that she is a tiny bit happy to be there.

I highly recommend any of the Lost In The Sauce "series". All of the brewers have incredible talent! Chef Marie has made some of the best food I've had, that I would never have tried otherwise. All of the staff, "explorium family" are amazing, never an unpleasant experience. Needless to say, Lifetime Mug Club Member was a no brainer. The outdoor patio, is what brought me in from the start.

First off, they always have really interesting and good beers. Second, we’ve been here a few times and each time has been great. Food is good and service is exceptional! Last time my boyfriend and I were here, our bartender (I didn’t get his name sadly, but he was bald and had glasses and a beard) was so amazing! He was always on point with getting peoples drinks and he was friendly and even helped us with trivia! But most of all, we left and forgot our to-go box and he chased out the door in the freezing cold to bring it to us as we were leaving. Seriously top tier bartender!!! Can’t say enough about him! The waitstaff was nice, but the manager was absolutely unhinged. She was, for some reason, on the front end and acted like she had no idea that the 80 person event we were there for existed. She made faces while we were talking to her.

Then she told us our additional people needed a reservation, but weren’t allowed to make one because they needed to order food now and couldn’t ‘take up a table’ later. It took them 45 minutes to bring our food out anyway so it clearly wouldn’t have mattered.

She also refused to provide an extra chair and I had to hunch over our table for twenty minutes before I went and took one myself.

I have never in my life had such a bad experience and I’d sooner not eat than go back here in my lifetime.

My cousin and I payed for a tour and afterwards a meal. Tour guide was great. We had a great time on the tour. Meal service was mid. After lunch we were told we couldn’t keep the glass from the tour. Website says you can keep the glass after. I also order bacon on my sandwich. Sandwich came and no bacon… over all the experience wasn’t great.

Nestled into the South end of Southridge Mall is the Explorium Brewpub Greendale. A varied menu will satisfy your hunger, and a good number of Explorium beers to satisfy your thirst. Went here the other day and enjoyed the patio on a Friday. Root beer and truffle fries were my lunch Because I ordered the traditional cod fish fry and I was told they were out… out of fish fry on a Friday afternoon… so I ordered corned beef sandwich. I truly wish I had taken a picture the corned beef was so fry and tasted old. The mashed potatoes were definitely reheated two to three times due to the color and taste. I am a local chef so I do know what old food looks and tasted like and I could tell the potatoes were wrong as soon as she brought it out. I truly ate one bite oft sand which and that was all. My server was very nice and did a good job. She never asked why I never ate my food and why I denied a take out box. I didn’t send anything back or complain cause she seemed very busy and obviously it’s not her fault how the food tastes. We tipped $20 and left.

I had a business meeting there with my colleagues 8/22/23 and ordered the spicy chicken tots which came out completely dry. The manager went back and made a new one. Then she said she was taking the item off the bill which I was appreciative. Next morning I realized she never took off the appetizer after leaving a good tip. I went back making an extra trip the next day to speak to the same manager and she stated, you were charged for 2 appetizers and I took the one off. SMH if you serve your customers terrible food, and they complain about it, you would think they would cover the cost since we had to wait longer for the food to come out. Great atmosphere but that won't bring me back.

One fish & chips with potato pancakes and one catfish with homemade potato chips. Both were excellent.
Tried an IPA and the old fashioned.
IPA was great. Old fashioned was the only low point of the entire experience.

I am deeply disappointed with the service I received today. As someone who has traveled to more than 20 countries, I have never experienced such discrimination based on my accent and race before. It was my first time at this place, and unfortunately, I felt incredibly unwelcome.

The night shift servers seemed disinterested in serving me from the beginning. When I tried to get their attention, they appeared to listen but provided no assistance. I noticed that other customers who arrived after me were promptly given the menu and served, while I was left ignored.

This incident occurred on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023, and it left me feeling disheartened and hurt by the discrimination and racism I encountered during my visit.

I hope that steps are taken to address such issues in the future and ensure that all customers are treated with respect and equality, regardless of their background. Discrimination and racism should have no place in any establishment, and I sincerely hope that appropriate actions are taken to prevent such incidents from happening again.

Terrible experience - went there with some of our baseball team on Sat afternoon, probably 14 people with 6 more coming. After getting seated, manager tells us he can't serve us and called security. Was pretty upset at a "group of our size". Apparently he had told someone earlier that they can't accommodate our group so he got really upset at us for "coming back" (we had no idea of this obviously, or why would we go). Anyway, the guy had zero sense of customer service or running a business. Shocked this guy is left in charge of a restaurant given his demeanor and short fused temper.

This is the 3rd Time that I have been here.

Our hostess Iris was very nice and Friendly
Our waitress Brooke C., seemed nice at first. She was attentive to our needs at first.

We received our food.

However she ruined it the service. About 20 minutes after we received our Fish dinners, Pierogi, and bowls of Roasted Tomato soups which were Good, she came and asked me if we needed some boxes.

I replied No, that I was still eating.

She said OK and walked away.

We don’t like to be rushed when I am eating.
About 10 minutes later, not even, Brooke C., came back and she asked me again if we needed boxes.

My Mother has Health problems and her ulcers started acting up because we could not finish eating.

I was a little upset by now.

I like to enjoy my food and not be rushed. By now, most of the restaurant had cleared out, even though the restaurant is open until 10:00 P.M. according to the posted Hours.

Brooke C. came back about 10 minutes later and I knew what she was going to ask as she opened her mouth.

I finally just asked for a box to go.

We only left a $ 10.00 tip which was les them the suggestion on the receipt because tops are based on the kind of service that you receive and we did not receive too Good of service halfway through our meals until the end of our meals.

I don’t know if we will return to eat at this restaurant again.

If we do choose to give this restaurant another chance, I do not want Brooke C. waiting on us.

I don't like for some Owner and or manager to say that I am basically lying when they never bothered to contact us for more information... especially since I am an Ordained and licensed Rabbi which is a Jewish Priest. I don't lie. It is a Sin. I have No reason to lie. I shared a Honest review.

Number two,

I am also a Decorated former 1st Lieutenant who served our country as part of The United States Air Force where I have worked with Chaplain Services, and for you to comment and basically say that I am lying, when you never even bothered to check into this as a real owner and or manager should, is absurd as you say in your reply.

Believe me, I have printed out your response and, I think that The News Media will see how you and your business treats people, especially members of Clergy and people who served our country and basically dismiss them as lying when you did not bother to look into this. That is not a Good owner and or manager.

I was there eating dinner with my Mother who works for The United States Federal Government who can back up everything that I say as 100 % True. She is a Ordained and licensed Minister herself. Are you going to say that she is lying too?

After a day of throwing up and sitting on the can, I'm able to warn you that you will need to make sure your food is cooked thoroughly if you order a burger here. Food poisoning is not fun. My guess is they messed up our order because it took a super long time for the food to arrive, when it came, the burgers we ordered "medium" were severely undercooked. Should of sent it back, and my wife and I regretted it the next day.

My husband and I have been to Explorium multiple times and it’s always a wonderful experience. After so many visits, I think it’s time for a review because the staff deserves recognition. We made sure to get on the waitlist for a patio table because we wanted to watch The Doghouse Charlie band, which was certainly worth the wait! Once we sat down, we were welcomed by Bryan. I could tell how busy they were, but he was so welcoming and was very attentive throughout our time there. He went above and beyond for us! We will be back! Great food, drinks AND service!

Great place for craft beer and burgers, wraps, etc. inside Southridge mall. I had fish tacos that came with cilantro lime rice and mango salsa. My husband had the “Bomb” which was a burger with bacon, onions and provolone cheese wrapped inside pizza dough. The burger came with a side and he choose beer cheese soup which was just ok. The soup was on the cool side which made it a little unpleasant. We both enjoyed our entrees very much. For an appetizer we had the Reuben Rolls which came 3 to an order. I’m not a huge fan of Reuben’s, but these were quite tasty and they were a great size. My husband had the flight of beers. The flight was 3 (4oz) beers. Will definitely be back to try other menu items.

This was a unexpected choice. First...this isn't anywhere located near or like a food court place. I am 66 yrs old. Am I too old to use the phrase "so hip?" It has a outdoor semi enclosed bar area, a indoor bar and dining area if you desire a non rowdy atmosphere.
I desired something different and definitely found it. Not a heavy meal and a snack like dish. Had afew appetizers and this incredible sandwich drizzled with some Flavored oil that truly hit the spot. Add a cold brew and magic occured. Never had such a meal from a mall.

Got food poisoning from there. First time ever — usually food is good. Could have been from their wine OR the food—it’s unclear. Overpriced. Service was mediocre —our server was pushy. Wish there was more of a better setting than a parking lot. My kid fell out of a high table top chair and no one did anything to ensure he’s ok. Add some more trees/bushes less asphalt to get a better vibe. Idk it’s sad, I wouldn’t suggest this place anymore and I used to.

Arrived here on a busy night, wait time was 20 minutes, after a half hour was told it would be another 20/30 minutes and they were kind enough to give a free drink, very nice of them. Once seated out server good drink orders and as we already looked over the menu took our orders. Sam, our waitress, was amazing, attentive without being over bearing, she was great. Food was good, tasty and well made would definitely come back again.

Sub-par food, the giant pretzel and burger was overcooked. I ordered the burger medium rare it came back medium well. The drinks were excellent and so was our server. It was a disappointing end to our evening though, as we were told our time was up due to a reservation!?? This wasn't advertised and I didn't realize we were still in the height of a COVID lockdown and restrictions (that's sarcasm fyi).
