Went here yesterday for Bloody Mary’s. We love the bloody Mary’s here and have always enjoyed the atmosphere! However yesterday we had a terrible experience. We were approached without a hello and then had or ids ripped from our hands…. we ordered 3 dill vodka bloodies and one garlic. Bartender Dan came back and handed us two garlic and two dill. I didn’t want to say anything as the vibes were already uncomfortable, but I could taste the difference between the garlic and dill bloody. I kindly asked him if this was garlic and he said no there was three dill. I said are you sure because when you handed it to me you said garlic and it tastes different than my friends who got dill. He then said nothing and and tried all of our drinks with a straw without even asking us.. I understand he wanted to try them but he could have asked us first. He then grabbed 2 of the bloodies dumped them out and started remaking the drinks. (My friend’s drink was just fine i’m not sure why he remade hers). He didn’t say a word this whole time and was slamming things around the bar as he remade them. I felt horrible for asking for a drink that I originally ordered.. the whole situation could have been handled differently. As someone in the service industry I would never treat costumers this way… because of this we didn’t leave a tip and just felt extremely uncomfortable the rest of our time there.

There are quite a bit of bad reviews on this place. But we tried it anyway. We had 2 different entrees. The French dip was delicious and lots of flavor in the au jus. The chicken wrap was cold and not flavorful. The business is a little different. The garage is the actual bar, and there is a food truck outside that serves the food. That is a seperate business, but food orders still placed at the bar. So its a bit unconventional but still worth a try.
Not to mention, they have free nachos and popcorn as well while waiting for your food.

Over 20 years in the industry and a big spender, good looking place, horrendous service, bartenders casually walking around like there's ten people in the building when there's 150+, people trying to get drinks for 30 minutes as they walk by, head on a swivel and move with a purpose, if they had 2-3 bartenders call in I can forgive it, if it's commonplace not at all, would've spent 2-300 on 5 of us if I'd been able to get drinks when needed, instead 2 drinks and 1 round of shots ordered with one of the drinks, so 2 rounds in 3 hours and then attempted to order for friends being ignored on the other side of the bar, just ended up with both sides being ignored. I'm quite forgiving but do not recommend at all.

This is our third time through Wausau and visiting The Garage. Each time the service has been great. The bartenders never miss an empty glass and are understanding when the customer hits the limit. We had Vanessa today and she thoroughly explained the Bloody Mary selection and menu - great personality. When she was busy with other customers, other staff were there to make certain we were served. Haven't eaten there yet but the food looks great!

We tried the Garage for the first time. They give you a sheet of paper with the food listed on it and you check off what you want and take it to the bar where you pay up front and either keep your tab open or close it out right away. While it seems to be some people's vibe, it was not our groups. The food is ok, my friend had the prime rib sandwich and said it was so loaded with grisle, she only ate about half of the meat, the chips were meh, the fries were fries, the onion rings were slightly on the greasy side, but ok. The burgers were meh, I could have made it better at home, and I ordered egg rolls but I'm pretty sure I got spring rolls instead and they were filled with cabbage and maybe a bit of carrot, that's it. Over all, we were not super impressed by the food and the chairs at the table suck, all metal and the back is so slanted you can't sit back to eat without practically sliding out of your seat. The chairs at the bar and the taller tables were not like that. We will skip it next time.

++ I tried the Chicken quesadilla and it was delicious 😋 along with tater tots. It was grilled nicely, the ingredients were proportioned nicely. I got full after eating only half of it, which caught me by surprise. The chipotle made it hang the flavor it needed. Tater tots were good in texture, not too soft and not too crunchy. I warmed it up later and it was still just as good ! First time eating here and this was not a mistake by any means. Go try out their food here.

We went for Bloody Mary's and you get a piece of paper to choose what you want which I really loved! There are a ton of garnishes to choose from and you can choose which vodka you want and lots of different options. They also are a great price! We only had one Bloody Mary each and honestly this time around we didn't really love them but I would definitely give it another try as I hear a lot of people really love their Bloody Marys.... Maybe we just had an off day!

We stopped on our way to MN as my son is a car lover and the pictures looked cool! The food was really good, atmosphere was nice, and staff was kind! I was cold sitting on the stage and they even turned the fans off for us. You order at the bar but that wasn’t an issue, the bartender was so helpful with the menu. The ONLY feed back I have is that a kids menu would be nice, but will add that they made their quesadilla not spicy so my son could have that! The cheese curds were really good and not at all greasy. Highly recommend! Portion sizes were good too for the prices. We’ll definitely be back if we’re in the area again 🙂

The beer was way over priced, they gave us a marker with our menu. It was to mark our choices and hand back?! Seriously?!? After I put $20 in a machine, it played twice-thats $2. And stopped. I'm now waiting for the owner to decide how I must have cheated. The bartenders tip had been going down from the moment we sat down and had to clean up our our area. As a Door Dash driver, I represent a paying customer. I typically avoid picking up from here because of the issues I ran into. This last time was a joke. There used to be a table to pickup food here, but now it's covered with condiments. There really is no designated area to pickup at or even stand to wait (you're always in someone's way). There were a few couples sitting around during lunch, but not what I would consider a huge crowd...many open tables and spots at the bar. The bartender took about 5-10 minutes before addressing me...never a "hi" or " be right with you" or even a nod. I bring my bag in with me and hold it across my chest so it's very obvious who I am. I finally get told that they are busy. I was there to pick up a hamburger...something that is Uber quick to make. Bartender barely had eye contact and said a few other unintelligible words. I ended up waiting for 25 minutes and still no food. Mind you, I am representing a paying customer whose food was to be ready five minutes after I got there per the notes in the order. I already had someone else's food in my car I had already picked up. That food was at risk of going cold. I couldn't wait any longer. I tried several times to ask how much longer, but again no eye contact and no communication (guessing because I am not the customer, I am the lowest priority). Thing is, I represent the customer. I ended up apologizing to the customer for what was happening, contacting door dash and advising them of the issues here, and leaving to deliver the other order sitting in my car. I feel awful about how the customers who order on the app get treated here. It seems that if you are a potential tipper, you are given first priority for service/food. I will try to avoid this place at all costs so I can avoid getting dings against me for time and cold food.

First time. It looks pretty much like a garage, bar in the middle , seating around as well as outdoor seating.

To order food, get menu from bartender, fill out the menu by checking what you want ( if you do a burger and don't want something on it , cross off that ingredient ). When done take back up to bar , pay or start a tab. You'll get a number to take to your table .

I have a fish allergy, brought it up and he verified how things were cooked , a cook even came out to see me and explained some things were done in same oil, so that was impressive they wanted to be clear on food safety-A+ for that.
Cheese Curds were really good.
Fries are seasoned, not a little, not a lot. I was able to finish all of them.
Main was a Philly cheese steak style sandwich, asked for light green peppers and got light green peppers, again A+ for order and understanding. Girlfriend got a burger and fries and those were done to her liking as well.

Definitely would go again when in town.

There are fire pits around the outside to keep warm on cool nights, I don't know how long they will offer that, probably up to when it's just to cold to be out.

Also they have live bands playing so be sure to check that out also.

We went as a group of three over to The Garage one of us had the Cubano I had the perch and another had the shrimp wrap. we also had the broccoli cheese bites for an appetizer. We ended up getting in a conversation with Bob one of the founders and he represents the area and the garage well. The appetizer came with the meal, which was the only hiccup in our experience. The bartender was friendly and immediate with Service. We appreciate all of the attention while we were there. it’s a little bit loud for some peoples taste, but I thought it was charming. FYI, if you have children, we are planning to go back. We had a great time.

Swinging thru & stopped here for lunch, it’s clean, big, the patio looked nice for the summer, I liked the garage doors, the TVs were ok tho can never have enough. Food came quick and the pork sandwich and fries were good portion and fries tasted good with the spicy seasoning. Multiple taps though twice they were out.

The food here is very good. I ate the chicken wings, and my husband had a brisket sandwich - I have to say that the wings were some of the best I've ever eaten.
The way you order your food is very interesting - you go to the bar, and they hand you a sheet with all of your food choices. You mark off what your order is and give it back to the bartender. Our food was brought to our table in less than 10 minutes, I was very impressed!!!

Great experience! Love the fun and inviting atmosphere. We are from out-of-town and have been here twice now – once for live music on a Saturday night and once for lunch. Both visits were excellent! They have quality N/A beverages on hand and we enjoyed an IPA (Athletic Brewing Co) and a couple of In Fashioned (Forward Beverage Co). The process to order food is also unique and efficient. The bartender was friendly and attentive as well. We also really loved the variety of the house music playlist! We heard country, classic, and modern songs all within one visit. Where do I start. How about with this? Pretty sure I met Chad Kroger from Nickelback last night here. Bar tenders were out of this world. The band (The Cheese Doodles) was as talented as they come. I mean talk about range - those guys can play anything. Pour some sugar on me was my personal favorite.

The beer was cold. The food? Sweet Peter’s shekels those wings were the best thing I’ve eaten in 2024 so far - the combo of 6 Garlic Parm and 6 HoneyBBQ shook me to my core…in the best way possible.

I took my family here for food one night but it was PACKED and we never even got anyone to look at us much less get a table or drinks. So I can't say anything about it other than it must be good with how packed it was.

The bartenders were attentive. And when they didn't have a drink to serve, they were busy cleaning something or restocking something. I was impressed.

And, these days, who gives out free nachos with jalapeno peppers? These guys are doing it right!

Strange method of submitting your order on a piece of paper which you give to the bartender. Would recommend people just put order in online if we are going this route if, for no other reason, that the bartender missed some of the items I requested. After waiting 30 additional minutes for my side of tater tots, I decided to speak up. Staff is friendly enough and food is average for bar food but the process left me disappointed

While traveling through the area, I found this bar and really wanted to like it. As a person in the automotive industry, I thought that the concept was cool. However, not only was this place wall to wall packed. (you could barely walk around, let alone get a drink) But when we finally did, one of the bar tenders was rude to us. Also, when someone left their seat and EMPTY beer bottle, we approached the spot, to be then told by the rude bar tender that they were probably coming back to their seat. First of all, I didn’t think it was her place to tell us that. Secondly, it’s a busy bar, why would I not sit down? Then to top it off, we tried to purchase a shirt (which clearly, they sell) they are hanging up on the wall with price tags, and no one could help us or knew anything about it. When someone asked the rude bartender about them, she ignored us. I would say overall my first impression was NOT good. I would not bother going back nor would I really recommend it to anyone else. About the ONLY thing positive I’ll say was that the band was good. Sorry NOT sorry.

If I could I would give no stars. We were at The Garage for the first time and our experience was horrible. We waited over an hour for our food and people that came after us received their food. We checked on our order 40 minutes into waiting and the bartender said she would check but never updated us while we sat out on the patio area.

We checked a second time with her after an hour and turns out our order was never put into the system to be made. Horrible service and communication from the employee.

Been coming here since it opened. Best place in town to have a drink, watch whatever sporting event is on, and eat some good food. Great service always and there patio is very relaxing no matter what the weather.
