Beautiful views of the lake and sunsets. Outdoor atmosphere is really nice. Live music is a plus. The menu offers a nice variety, kid friendly and the food was delicious. A bit disappointed in our service....asked for water refill and never got it. said we were skipping apps to get dessert and never asked about dessert, just were ha ended the bill. Went for a birthday dinner with family. We were seated outside after a storm had passed and treated to a beautiful sunset. My wife and I went in wanting to like this place on our date night, and unfortunately there were not many positives. The view outside on the lake was nice. Some outdoor music would help the ambience. It was almost 90 out and the water glasses held about 3 oz of water and we did not get frequent enough service for refills of our empty water glasses and cocktails. We both ordered medium filets, and both were over cooked, with my wife's closer to well done. My sicilian crust looked and tasted burnt. For $50 steaks you need to get this right. The rissoto was not good. The Caesar salad and garlic mashed potatoes were solid. Bruschetta was OK.

Great food. Great service. Cleanliness- 0 stars. Our food and beverage menus looked like they had never been cleaned. There was food stuck on both menus. The appetizer plates came out with food stuck on them as well. We had a beer in a pint glass that was chipped. The table was dirty and wax peeling off. Our server, Kasey, was pretty great. I am from pewaukee and visit a new lake every year with my family, we took the boat to the getaway and got seated by a very nice hostess, we were then waited on by Kat who was a very rude and condescending waitress and I write this for those to take into the consideration how the service impacts the expirence, after ordering the chicken Marsala and Caesar salad as a side, she became combative and demeaning saying “that’s not the side honey you get that and this and the other etc” it sucks to have a good vibe ruined by someone in a bad mood, we got the manager and got a new waitress Stephanie who was lovely. We had a great time there. Full view of the Lake, lots of sunlight, cool bar area. Top of the line Service. Food was excellent. We got Bolognese, Prime Rib and two amazing Mocktails. Highly recommend Lemonade with Basil Mocktail. Servings are Huge. Consider sharing dishes. Very busy place. Recommend reservations in advance.

We went here because another local establishment was 1.5 hour wait and I'm super happy we did. Amy was our very nice and attentive waitress. Great bourbon selection with available flight options. Lots of stuff that's hard to find that you can try for reasonable prices. Shrimp DeJonghe app was fantastic! About 16 shrimp with a loaf of fresh bread to boot. Grouper was great, shrimp Diablo was great, seafood bisque and hot bacon spinach salad were fantastic too. Food was Hot which seems to be a problem these days. Couldn't be happier. It was a total 5/5 experience. The older lady who was our server was one of the best servers I have had in awhile. She worked hard for us and got us anything we needed. The meatball app was very flavorful. The shrimp scampi was a good size portion and also very tasty with lots of a shrimp. The restaurant is located in the Inn, right on Lake Como. So I ordered the strawberry salad with chicken, and it was really good. However, I ordered a bowl of seafood bisque soup to take home for my husband. They gave me a cup and charged me $9 and the $2 additional charge for takeout. When I questioned the cup ver bowl, she said she asked her manger to grab the bowl. The manager came over and talked to us like we were 2. She then told us that they would no longer be doing separate checks as it's much when they are busy. But they will take multiple payments. The manager needs to learn how to talk with customers as she was very condescending. Will not be returning. Our waitress was nice and friendly.

The Getaway on Lake Como is attached to the French Country Inn on the Lake in Lake Geneva, WI. All I can say is WOW! We had both dinner on Friday night and breakfast on Saturday morning while we stayed in the Inn.

Let's start off with the atmosphere. The Getaway is elegant with a French farmhouse feel. There is a large fireplace at the entrance when you enter from the lobby.

We did have reservations and I would recommend reservations for dinner on a weekend. We were seated quickly and the wait staff was right there to take our drink order and tell us about the specials.

To add to the ambiance, there was a live guitarist that was very talented playing soft jazz versions of many popular songs. He even played some Led Zeppelin. However, his music was soft and not interfering with our conversation even though we were just a few feet from where he was playing.

We ordered and the food came quickly and was excellent. The service was outstanding and the views of the lake incredible.

The next morning we ate breakfast. We ordered coffee, tea and 3 biscuits with various butters and honey. Well these were not your mother’s biscuits. They were huge and tasted light and flaky. We also ordered eggs, sausage and pancakes. Again the service was excellent and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend the Getaway when you are in the Lake Geneva region!

What an absolutely fantastic place to eat breakfast lunch and dinner.

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hotel on the water and we're here during restaurant week in lake Geneva so we got to try specialty items available on the menu.

We ended up eating at this restaurant almost every day because the prices were good and the food was excellent.

The wait staff is very kind and attentive and they have a good rhythm for keeping busy tables moving smoothly.

On Monday night there was an awesome band covering all genres of pop music rock country and classics.

The restaurant features a full bar with lots of room for guests to sit together.

We had some of the best prime rib for dinner and I absolutely loved the chicken marsala.

The portions are generous and the attention to detail when plating is very very good.

Recommend you do make a reservation when planning to eat dinner especially Friday and Saturday nights.

While we were staying at the hotel, we had an intimate and sumptuous breakfast, with locally sourced sausage and bacon. Chef Michael personally brought out our breakfast and made sure that everything was to our liking. The blueberry pancakes were to die for and the bacon was honestly the best ever.

We've stayed at the hotel for a week and have honestly eating at the restaurant at least six times and had dinner at the restaurant three times and counting.

If you're not staying at the hotel, definitely check out the Getaway on lake Como for all your family celebrations or those intimate dinners.

WALKED OUT. We came here based on the reviews—huge mistake. Avoid, avoid, avoid. There are so many better options in the area (Café Calamari, The Hunt Club, Pier 290). Our 7:00 PM reservation started off badly when I called at 4:00 PM to request a fireplace table and was told it was first come, first served. Fair enough, so we arrived at 6:20 PM and asked again, offering to wait at the bar—again, denied. Worse, the bar was completely full. They seated us right away, but in the worst possible spot. A server dropped off water without saying a word. We waited over 15 minutes before our actual server finally arrived, and his first words were, “Do you guys know what you want?” No greeting, no introduction, not even a wine menu—just attitude. When we asked for one, he handed it over and walked away. The service was rude, cold, and completely careless. We got our wine, looked at each other, and immediately knew—this wasn’t the vibe. I called The Village Supper Club 10 minutes away, and even though they were fully booked, the manager said, “Come on over, we’ll take care of you.” And they did—phenomenal experience. Meanwhile, The Getaway was a complete disaster. Worst service I’ve ever had, and considering the reviews, I expected much better. I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. Terrible.

We were here for our anniversary last month and for a birthday this month. A few comments:

1. Food is excellent
2. When you make a reservation they ask if it is a special occasion. In both cases we indicated anniversary and birthday. There was NO mention of either occasion when we dined so not sure why the question is asked if there is no acknowledgement of the occasion. I guess my point is if you want to have it acknowledged you need to request it.
3. The table behind us was celebrating a anniversary and the they ordered dessert and the waiter said the dessert was free with birthdays and anniversaries. When our waiter asked if we wanted dessert my husband said 'its your birthday get something if you want'. ordered and was charged. Certainly can afford dessert but somehow feel gyped when someone else is getting a free dessert for their occasion. Consistency would be a good thing in regards to this.

We went to this restaurant for a dinner. When we arrived, we asked to a 4top table in a warm part of the restaurant. There were plenty of open tables. We were told they were all reserved, and they sat us at a very cold table next to a window. We had to eat with our coats on. We asked for the manager to complain about the seating, and he said the same thing. After we ate, we looked and there were several open tables no one sat down to. We asked to the name of the owner to call and complain. The hostess went to get it and gave us a business card. It was the card of the manager we just talked to. They didn't say anything about this NOT being the owner information, they just wanted to blow us off and have us leave. We got the manager back out and told him how disrespectful and cowardly this was. If they couldn't, or wouldn't, give us the owner's name, they should have said so. We will never go back.

Our meal was very good. Our grandsons loved the snow crab legs. The seared tuna was outstanding. Oysters on the half shell, bruschetta, salmon piccata, shrimp & scallop diablo very good. The server was Brad. He was friendly and met all expectations. The hostess was less than friendly. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation and were told that they were clearing a table & we’d be seated in about 5 minutes. I checked on the reservation about 10 minutes past our reservation & the hostess snappily told me it was only 6 minutes past our reservation time. My son asked 15 minutes later & they seemingly gave our reservation to someone else. Other people came in without reservations and were given tables. Another party of 2 had waited 30 minutes for their reservation & yet 2 young women came in without a reservation & were seated right away. Then, a few minutes later, 5 of us were seated at a table for 4. Clearly this restaurant seats people because of who you are without an attention to reservations. We spent over $300 for our meals. Good food, but we weren’t treated with respect by the hostess.

We came on an extended family trip to Lake Como and were looking for a fun spot to head out to dinner one night. We had 4 littles and 9 adults and we were thrilled The Getaway was happy to accommodate us. We sat at 2 tables next to each other on the expansive patio that overlooks the lake. We started with a round of cocktails (& food for the kiddos). All cocktails were delish and strong! You definitely get your money's worth. We moved on to several apps - the ricotta & cheese curds were a fave, and the fresh oysters were huge! We loved all of our apps. When it came to our mains, we were a little underwhelmed after how great the apps were. Everything (fish & steaks) seemed a little overcooked. Also, for the one vegetarian in our party, he had to go through 3 menu items before he found something they were not out of (at 6:30pm on a Friday...). We were a bit too full for dessert though it all sounded great. Our servers were great and so friendly. Would recommend to anyone in town.

Went for early dinner but since it was 90+ degrees & we were there right when they opened, staff seemed confused. Not sure where we could sit or who was to serve. We decided to just have a drink & come back some other times but views were gorgeous.

The service was mediocre at best. Our waiter seemed to really not want to be there and he seemed to dislike his job. The food was also mediocre-the garlic mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a cardboard box and no garlic flavor at all. The prices of the food also was overpriced for the quality.
The views were spectacular and there really wasn’t a bad seat in the restaurant.
Probably won’t go back there due to high prices and quality of food was not worth it.

We were really looking forward to the Getaway, but were very disappointed. Made a reservation for a water view, but instead were placed by a wall. A couple who walked in just before us without a reservation received a prime waterfront view. Secondly, a restaurant advertised for their seafood, ran out of salmon. Third, live music was advertised but no music. What was most disappointing was the manager. After expressing our disappointment with where we were seated, he ignored us! We watched him check on every table but ours. He could have come over to see how our overall dining experience was going. Try to make every guest feel welcome and satisfied. Nice atmosphere, but pricey and poor service.

We were seated quickly at our requested bar seating however, a mix up with the reception and servers kept us waiting, it appeared no one was assigned to our area.

We were finally able to wave and get the attention of a staff member and a server was deployed to our table.

The server (Nash) came to our table, introduced himself explained the situation and promptly got to work.

Nash displayed the highest level of professionalism I have seen from a young server in quite some time. Nash'es action saved the experience and potentially a negative review.

The food was good, but service was not. We never got refills of water or drinks, and we were sitting outside in 90 degree weather. Our order was wrong. Salads were brought out after our main course was served, and only because we said we never got them.

We had our anniversary dinner there in July and it couldn't have been better.
The food was outstanding, and we both had a thick Kansas city steak with great potatoes, asparagus sides, and very good wine. We strongly suggest the bruschetta as an appetizer, Best around in our opinion.
The outdoor seating overlooking Como Lake was fantastic and romantic.
We had breakfast there in the past, and that too was excellent.

We love the Getaway! We have ate here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. The menu features a ton of fresh fish plus prime rib and other favorites. I would recommend getting a reservation if you want a table on the outdoor patio or main dining room as there’s always a lengthy wait. The service is great!

Breakfast is awesome. Soooo many choices. I’m a gluten allergy and those biscuits looked amazing! So jealous of those that can partake in biscuits and gravy and pancakes!!

Dinner was lovely. I love atmosphere at this place. Not a bad seat in the house. Can be very loud so don’t expect a quiet romantic dinner. Blackened grouper was great. Will be coming back.

Abysmal…. Our server was mediocre. Food was terrible. Crab cakes were like minced crab meat. Ordered the ribeye…. It was 1/3 inch thick. Overcooked and dry as hell. Music was blaring, just not a good experience.

We chose The Getaway for a weeknight dinner with family and had such a nice time! The ambiance on the patio is very relaxing overlooking the lake. Highly recommend the coconut shrimp appetizer, the shrimp are HUGE and the tropical sauce has really good flavor. The pasta portions are very large and come with a choice of soup or salad and the salad dressing options are homemade! The shrimp diablo had a good amount of spice without being terribly spicy, and the blueberry yuzu cocktail was very refreshing. Overall this place is such a gem!

We tried The Getaway for breakfast this week while in Lake Geneva. Wow!!’ What a treat. The service, the food, and the atmosphere. Food is exceptional! Prime rib EVERYDAY of the week?! Can’t beat that. Cocktails were delicious, I love the blackberry martini! I noticed they often change the cocktail menu which brings new and fun flavors. Always new fresh soups of the day. Definitely a hidden gem with lots to offer! The view of lake como is warm and inviting. Staff and bartenders are so friendly and welcoming. This is my 4th event here with all my friends and family. Couldn’t rate it high enough!

HORRIBLE experience!!! Called ahead and asked about specials they said on the phone they had half priced appetizers and drinks from 4-6. When my party arrived at 5 they said they were no longer doing that special. We asked to sit in the bar and they told us they would not serve food in the bar and we sat in the back of the restaurant. We then noticed people in the bar were being served food. We asked the manager and they said if we don’t like the service THEN DON’T COME BACK! We won’t be returning- as well as anyone else we know. I’ve worked in the service industry for over 10 years and am shocked! How embarrassing for this restaurant owner.

I have never been so insulted as I was at the service at this restaurant. Called 1 hr before going. Was told they had 1/2 price appetizers till 6pm. When we arrived was told NO hostess was wrong. Asked to sit in the bar for the entertainment. Was told NO food in the bar and was seated as far away from the entertainment without being seated outside. After much asking they reluctantly moved us closer to the bar. Still couldn't hear the entertainment. The appetizers, which we ordered a lot of them, were delicious. We moved into the bar where MANY people were eating. Asked why we were told we couldn't eat in the bar. Manager said it was up to the bartender. When leaving we were told to NEVER COME BACK. No problem there...we will NEVER GO BACK!!

We where a party of five we called ahead and were told there was a happy hour with half price appetizer and drinks until six pm when we arrived at five we were told by the hostess yes she did tell us that but she was wrong and there is no happy hour discount. We could not eat in bar just drinks . We had dinner in the restaurant and then went into bar where people were eating dinner! We complained to a guy about 5’7 with brown hair and round glasses who told us not to come back! He needs to go back to school to Learn people skills.
