This review is totally directed at the bartender on 8/31/25. Our group of 4 decided to sit at the bar for drinks and supper. Obviously if you look at past reviews the bartender seriously needs a attitude adjustment. What is more sad the business is paying ZERO attention to these reviews which says a lot about their sincerity to the customers. The bartender was extremely rude and made us feel like an inconvenience for being there. If your having a bad day you should call in sick and not take it out on your customers. However, I'm not the only one that thinks the bartending staff needs attention. Will not be back and will not recommend to anyone. Should have went to the Naughty Turtle!

It's a great place to stay and eat. The outdoor seating is right on the Wolf River. We had the fish and chips which were fantastic. Large portions of fish and fries. I highly recommend the avocado toast for breakfast. That was huge and SO good! And our servers for both meals were great!

Service was minimal at best. Took 10 min to come back to get our order. Got our meals & never came back to ask how it was or if wanted drink refills. Once done finally got the check & she disappeared! Wanted to use credit card but just left cash in the tray to cover the bill & a regrettably tip.
Other waitresses were great for other tables but not ours. Doubt well be back. Food was good at least.

We went out to eat at the hotel fremont for a total of 9 people, the food is not cheap and the service we received was not good. As someone with allergies and my family having allergies its super difficult to eat anywhere. Typically when I say I have a pepper allergy or any kind of allergy its respected. Not here. We made it very clear to the waitress we had an allergy were assured it wasn't an issue. We received burgers with pickles that had seasoning and all of the available options were preseason. Instead of giving a solution the waitress stated. This is how they come🤷🏻‍♀️. Absolutely the worst service ive ever had but at least they kept the water full so I could rinse my mouth to try and stem the burning. This would be a zero star review if that was possible.

Meatloaf Special was unbelievably delicious. How do you top it...Chef Ryan added bacon on the top, BAM! So good/highly recommend. Tasted better than Grandma's home cook'n, but don't tell her that.

In addition the veggie sides were cooked perfectly and waitress Kassia's timing and smile made for a fantastic experience. Nice job Hotel Fremont.

Only thing which would have improved the experience is it was an 80 degree sunny end of September day and the sun deck was closed for the season. Understandable in Wisconsin.

I hope you are able to visit when they have this special, as it is truly special. I'll return to try some other stuff too.

The Caprese BLT & Fish Tacos were delicious! The bacon on the BLT is Applewood smoked - and there's a thick layer of it. And it's served on blueberry bread. It sounds odd, but it really pairs well with the balsamic glaze. Highly recommend! There were 3 large fish tacos, and they were quite tasty. Would order both items again. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back!

Traveled into Fremont for a few nights for a car show in nearby town. On recommendation by cobblestone hotel around the corner we went to the Fremont hotel for dinner. What can I say, quaint little place with lots of historical charm, busy but not crowded, family friendly, great staff, great food. We did not walk away unsatisfied. Can't wait to try the breakfast!!! What a wonderful establishment.... from the home like feel and cool decorations to the beautiful view of the river. The service is great!!!!!! We walked into SMILES from all staff. (Love the all female staff). Cheerful and fun atmosphere. Ordered Brunch and was not disappointed! The Smoked Salmon Benedict is delicious. There are so many chunks of perfectly smoked salmon and the capers add just the best crunch. The drinks are delicious.... we enjoyed our Tequila Sunrises. Outdoor patio is lovely and you are right on the water. We will be back!

The food here was excellent, even for my large family with picky eaters. The price was very fair. The service was fantastic, as well. The beautiful location on the river and the large outdoor seating area with a full bar was a very nice bonus. We enjoyed a fireworks show on the deck after our meal, and everyone had a wonder time. I love reuben sandwiches and some are definitely better than others. THIS IS THE BEST REUBEN SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! It is so tasty. I think they have come up with fantastically seasoned corned beef and the sandwich is LOADED with it. The pictures don't do it justice. Yummy cheese and the right amount of sauerkraut and 1000 island. It's so good I wonder if it's all home-made! I also had the clam chowder and it was good, too. We chose to have our wedding dinner with 25 guests at The Hotel Fremont, and everything was wonderful. The waitstaff went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed and our main server was so sweet and did a great job. Our charcuterie board was excellent and the meal that followed was just what we were hoping for; the salmon was my absolute favorite! Small and quaint place with the bar being right next to the dinning area so it's you're looking for somewhere quiet then I would look elsewhere. When we arrived it wasn't that busy however we still had to wait we where a party of 2. We waited outside and had a drink but I must the old-fashioned was definitely a 3 compared to other places. Not the worst ive has but definitely not great. I ordered the haddock dinner and my wife had the dill salmon. Mine was average at best as the fish didn't have a lot of flavor and the target was sour tasting. My wife said the salmon was overwhelming dill flavored. Almost to point she couldn't eat it. However the beer battered cheese curds are some of the best we have ever had. All in all I would say this restaurant is 5.8 out 10. The cheese curds saved the meal for sure.

We didn’t wait very long to be sat outside. We requested inside but figured we’d take what we could get since we needed to get on the road. I preface this by saying our waitress was very sweet and friendly. No fault of hers. We also 100% understand it being a busy holiday time. But we waited 45 minutes after ordering 4 very simple breakfasts to ask if it was coming soon. People had literally gotten their breakfasts and left in the time we waited. They said maybe 10 more minutes so we had them cancel our order and left. Oh, after paying for the 1 cup of coffee we ordered. You can see by the picture what we had instead. Pretty dang good when you’re waiting a long time. And only 90 seconds to prepare. This place definitely caters to the summer vacation crowd by the menu selection and prices. We won’t be back next time through Fremont.

This was a by far my worst experience at a dine in restaurant. We have a reservation for 11:00 and got seated at around 12:00. Also as we were asking about when we would get seated, as there were tables open, the hostess was very un-friendly. I understand if you are busy but when your not apologetic like the hostess today was, that's just plain bad. She seemed as though she was trying to scare us away or something so she didn't have to deal with us. Then once we sat down we had to get up and request a waiter, as none were coming to us. When we eventually got our food, it was very mediocre all around. My salmon sandwich which was supposed to be spicy was not spicy at all. overall most of the meals where sub-par.

I ordered prime rib, came with carrots and zucchini also ask for fresh mushroom and onions, soup was some kind of chili, the carrots could not put my fork into it, the onions and mushrooms where in a gravy not fresh sautta in a pan before serving,the soup was cold and served with the meal ,out of four things presented with the meal only the prim rib was good.and when ask about the problem with meal owner didn't care about problem and also informed me when ask whether she cared whether customer is happy and if she wanted my business she stated she didn't care ,so payed my bill and have not been back since late summer in 2020
