Visiting from Texas and I decided that poutine was needed for lunch.
The Ivanhoe Pub came up and it was close so we stopped.
Walking into the pub was so much fun. It felt like we belonged as we took a seat.
The bartender/waitress was so friendly and helpful. She was like taking to a friend.
The poutine was amazing and got the special sandwich and soup.
Could not resist the blueberry cheesecake with frosting!
The best cheesecake I have ever eaten!
If I ever travel this way again I'm stopping!

Worst day ever. Have only 5 shots left on our Ivanhoes passport and were told " They no longer except" the passport ! No cheese curds or poutine and the kicker was the watered down Tullamore shot. The Hoe Bread was Great and so were the other 2 appetizers were had. The bartender was very friendly and good, made some delicious libations. Manager lacked interpersonal skills and exhibited a highly aloof and disengaged demeanor. She consistently avoided interaction and eye contact with patrons, which greatly impacted the overall customer experience.

I came expecting great food and great service, I received neither. The "new" Bar tender was friendly and gave good service but knew NOTHING about the whiskeys they are so proud of And little more about the food. The "manager". That came out to tell me about the whiskeys didn't know about them. They didn't have a real list of the available whiskeys. The food was absolutely terrible. I've never had fish and chips so bad I couldn't eat them. No refund offered. Terrible time, terrible food, wonderful decor. Sadly everything besides the look of this place isn't worth visiting, much less the price.

I've ordered the Irish curry chicken sandwich w/sweet potato fries a few times now. It has been a favorite of mine so far. The presentation even as a pickup order looks almost ad worthy, and it tastes even better than it looks. It is a little on the higher side for my wallet, but definitely worth it.

My girlfriend and I stopped in for a nice dinner date hearing nice things about the place. I ordered the meatloaf and my girlfriend ordered the steak nachos. The server insisted she ordered the steak “tornado” which is totally different. My girlfriend reminded her she wanted the nachos and the server insisted she ordered a steak “tornado” and unfortunately can’t do anything because she repeated the order to her. Mind you the server said that she’ll enjoy it regardless because it’s very delicious anyways. It got to the point where I expressed my concerns multiple times and got fed up with going back and forth. My appetite was ruined, my bill is 57 dollars 27 of which was for a steak “tornado”. I asked for my bill and a box to go to avoid the hassle. Never again 👎🏼. Also how is the fact that my girlfriend got a soup supposed to signify that she should have known that nachos don't come with a soup?? Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional.

The manager Sarah? I believe her name is. Absolutely rude not only to her customers but to her employees as well. Not sure what crawled up there and died but she may get more business if she could have better social skills. Aside that I do say it's a homey little pub with great decor and their servers are very friendly, consistent and deserve a raise. Without your servers you'd probably be out of business, do better.

I usually come here approx 1 a month maybe every 2 months but today they just didn't get it. I ordered 2 cheese burgers with fries and they got the order wrong I went in and explained the error to my order and the manager had a snappy reply and the second order was burnt when one was supposed to be medium rare and the other we'll done. Visited ivanhoes on a slow Monday night with my girlfriend for a couple drinks after work and had a pretty good time being as we were the only two people there. The atmosphere was nice with plenty of space to move around and our bartender was kind and polite plus was dressed like he came from the seventies which I thought was cool also while I did not have a chance to try the food since the kitchen was closed when we got there I did look over their menu and they do have many choices that sounded very appealing with plenty of Irish options if thats what you're looking for but my only reason for the three star review is that when the tab was closed out there was only a total price but nowhere that showed how much each drink costs which I feel like would have been helpful information. I would like to come back to play their bingo one day but would recommend that they add the price of each individual item to your total bill so you know exactly what you paid for.

Updated Review - 6/17/23: Ivanhoe is a great place to eat. The atmosphere is incredible. The food is delicious. And the service is amazing. Super friendly. Helpful. And fun. The food is super delicious! Everything I have ever ordered there has been incredible. I could go to Ivanhoe and spend most of the time just looking at all the cool stuff they have on the walls. Plenty of tables and booths. The restrooms were clean. The parking is sometimes a little hard to find on Main St…. but there are parking garages close by. I highly recommend eating at The Ivanhoe Pub & Eatery!

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a quick drink and some light food. Food, drinks and specialty drink menu with lots of options to satisfy most any appetite or thirst. Shepherds pie was delicious, so was the Ho-bread. We had a couple of the other specialty martinis, etc..

The only real issue I had is that I strongly dislike "service fees" being added to the bill without someone at least telling us they have been added. The service fee, although not calculated exactly, was about 7-8%. If the server tells us the fee was added, I don't have as much of a problem with it. However, just to add it to the bill and not say anything seems as though you are working for the "double tip" and hoping customers don't notice.... an otherwise very pleasant afternoon ended with a small sour taste because of this. I'm not sure where the fee goes, but I can only assume it goes to the servers? So I adjusted the tip accordingly.

That being said, the food was good and the service was friendly so I would certainly stop back if I was in the area again.

Worst bloody Mary's we have ever had. We came into town for our mom's Celebration of Life and wanted to spend some quality time with friends and family. We used to spend time at ivanhoes and the bloody were the best. Well, no more. None of us drank them. When we told the server how awful they were, we were not comped for them. She just took them away and quit serving us. We had to go up to the bar to pay our bill as no one ever came back, even to give us the bill. We know the owner and are very disappointed in how the service here has regressed. We won't come back again and have advised others of the change in service there. We sure hope the owner thinks about heading back there, because things sure are not good. Sorry, Doug, we were going to have lunch but after bad bloody Mary's and burnt cheese curds, we went elsewhere. Your place needs help.

WARNING THIS PLACE PAYS FOR GOOGLE REVIEWS!!!! This slop is what I recieved as shepards pie had one piece of meat in the whole dish. The website is completely wrong pricing is wrong and descriptions of food is wrong and the supposed General manager said it was my fault that their menu is not up to date and they were not going to fix my order... the second picture is their wonderful steak torneado the bread is supposedly a garlic pasty puff when it really is just their regular bread they serve with every meal. The supposed manager was extremely rude to me all because I had ONE other complaint like 5 months ago about a 5 dollar item. These two dyshes cost me almost 100 bucks with two average salads who wants to pay 100 bucks for this??? It was soooo nasty, the bacon wrapped shrimp tasted like pure pork. The steak sandwich was cooked fine but flavorless. The wings were undercooked. But, it was the way in which it was handled that angered me...basically all we got was "sorry". Thought I would give them another chance...so glad we did. Still understaffed for a "1st Friday ", however, our waitress was wonderful and so was our food. Can't wait to go back
