Great food for a large group of us who were fasting from meat. We had a miscommunication within our group of who was going to make a reservation and we mistakenly never made on. However the servers quickly put together multiple small tables to accommodate our group of 10. The food was great, we had more than enough meat-free options including accommodations the chefs made for us.
I gave a 4/5 for the atmosphere because it was a dark area and was difficult for me to see a couple of my friends with the sun shining behind them.

We had the chicken wings, crab dip and sweet and spicy shrimp.
The shrimp wasn’t sweet or spicy. It was tangy i guess.
The crab dip was pretty decent. I guess it makes me think or crab ragoon dip (Steny’s) so the large crackers didn’t seem like the best fit.
The wings were ok. More of a buffalo rub i guess, not saucy.

I’ve been here about 3 times now and I always leave thinking, “yeah that was a good choice!” It’s consistent, the service is always amazing, and the food is enjoyable. Whether you’re doing happy hour or a birthday dinner, this place feels nice without pretension.

Fun music show with my husband. No real 'food' choices. Decent drinks, kinda spending. No seating on the main floor unless you reserved one, and only a few choices for the show I went to, but i did see some available on the balcony.

Ordered take out. My friend suggested this place for lunch. Literally best wings I ever had. The beet and pear salad was so refreshing and the dressing was amazing. I am so picky with my salads , this salad is a 10/10 forsure.

I visited the Knick on three occasions during a recent vacation.
Breakfast: I ordered the special of the day which was an omelette with cheese and vegetables, a side of breakfast potatoes and toast. The breakfast potatoes were very good, cooked crispy and well seasoned. The omelette was lackluster- bland and a bit watery.
Lunch: Turkey burger with a side Caesar salad. The salad was tiny and very basic, and a bit overdressed. The turkey burger was great, but needed more sauce. The sauce is drizzled on top of the bacon, leaving both sides of the bun dry. It turned out okay since the turkey burger itself was not dry and was pretty flavorful. I did ask for a side of ranch and unfortunately, it was not good. It tasted off somehow, and I didn’t finish it.
Appetizer: I got the crab dip, which was good. Rich and cheesy, but wished there were some bread or other vegetables with it besides just lavosh which can be a little dry against an already rich cheese dip. I still enjoyed it and the crab was noticeable.
Dinner: I opted for the bone in pork chop. This dinner is served with German potato salad, red cabbage with apple, broccolini, and a dab of grainy mustard on the side. Everything on this plate was incredible! The pork chop was everything I want in a chop- thick, crisp on the outside and succulent on the inside. The potato salad was perfect- balancing vinegar and smoky bacon with diced potatoes. The broccolini was cooked perfectly and I devoured every bit. The mustard was somehow addictive..it was sweet and tangy all at once. The red cabbage was a great bite along with a little pork chop and smear of mustard, all in one!
Beverages: I had wine, a mocktail and an NA beer during my visits. Really appreciate the variety of selection and the cocktails I saw being served looked very well made.
Service: the servers were excellent, though the food does take a little longer to come out. But I will say, every one of my meals was hot and fresh- I’d rather wait 20 minutes for my food and it be good quality.
Ambiance: it’s a hotel restaurant so it follows that modern but not too upscale vibe. It is not the most pristine or clean (some little messes on floors near busy traffic areas, sticky feeling menus) but the covered patio overlooking the park and surrounding area is very nice.
I would definitely recommend the Knick for anyone looking to relax and have a tasty hot meal and drink with decent service. Grab a patio spot on a nice day if you can!

On a 95-degree day, when you're sitting outside, you'd like some cold water to drink pretty quickly. Luckily, once we got into the rotation, water was refilled often.
Our server was a gem. Food was decent. We all got omelets. I was impressed by the amount of prosciutto and pesto on mine. Potatoes and toast were both over-browned, though. And they were out of iced Chai, which bummed me out.
The park "across the street" was nice to walk through before and after the meal. It's also a great spot to find parking.

Popped in for a spot of dinner on the way to a concert. No issues getting a table. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Sat outside, which is an all too fleeting occurrence in Milwaukee. Absolutely lovely. The food and drinks were very good indeed. Fresh and tasty. Nothing over the top, but what they do, they do well. Would wholeheartedly recommend stopping in if you're in the area.

I usually enjoy the meals and service at the Knick. I've been going for over 20 years. Friday's service was quite unusual - the server was rude to me multiple times (short, dismissive), the vegetables that came with my food seemed to be made from scraps and the side I ordered was not in the bag. This is the first time I've experienced something like this but I don't think I'll eat in the establishment again.

Love the atmosphere and vibe. Hadn't been here in years and have been twice recently (brunch and lunch). Salads for lunch were great! Brussel sprouts may not be what you expect - ask for them to describe them. It's not full pieces - the "leafs" are all separated.
The brunch was ok. Coffee is not good and we were not offered a refill. Cappuccino was good. Potatoes and English muffin were excellent. The omelets were just ok....they did not taste as unique as the descriptions state. "Heirloom" tomatoes were cherry tomatoes and I realized after we left that there were no mushtooms as described. For a $13 omelet we will try again to see if it was an off day. Please get better coffee!

I ordered The Salmon lunch with asparagus and fingerling potatoes. The potatoes were not fully cooked the salmon was bland. I ordered 2 sides of dressing that I didn't receive. I also didn't receive the lemon with my dab of butter. The saving grace was the blackened salmon. That was excellent.

We made reservations to be sure we would have no issues considering it was Valentine's Day weekend. They seemed to have room but we had a bigger group and reservations were a good idea. There were a few other good sized groups that came in also...
The food and beverages were very good. They had great options including selections for vegetarians. There were no complaints about the food from anyone in our party.
The only issue that we really had was that our waiter might have been over booked. He was knowledgeable and very friendly but did not get back to us as much as he should have. We even had to reach out to one of the Hostesses to get our check taken care of. I am not positive why he didn't get back to us, so I am guessing he might have needed assistance. I wasn't thrilled about a tip being included just because we had 6 people considering the lack of service we received.
I think the look of this place and the quality of the food is worth a stop and I wouldn't be against returning here. Maybe going on a popular "dining out" weekend should be considered. One of our party had been here before and did have good things to say about those visits. I would recommend The Knick if you are looking for a stop for good food. I also loved the glass sculptures and the rest of the decor!

Came here with a few friends to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday, service was awful since we walked in. We were not greeted on a slow Tuesday. Our server made several rude remarks during our reservation, as well as telling us he didn’t want to be there. All of staff seemed less than thrilled to have anybody dining. This didn’t make for a good dining experience or for celebration. Food was good, no complaints there, but this poor customer service is unacceptable.

Ugh! What an underwhelming night last night, saved only slightly by our waiter Keenan. When In the mood for a Fish Fry, we're a mixed marriage & love places offering more than just Cod. If you like Cod, like my husband, theKnick's is not the best in town/area, but you'll survive. But if you love Perch as I do, BEWARE!! This was the worst, toughest, driest "version" of perch I've ever had! No excuse for serving it, unless the cook really thinks it's some kind of jerky??? After cutting into multiple pieces, I suddenly had a deja vue... we had come here for FF 2-3 years ago & had exactly same bad meal! (When Server said re the Perch, "yeah, people either love it or hate it" my first thought was, half of your customers were just being polite & probably have never had perfect Perch. (Ps: consistently perfect Perch can be found at both Pitches & Kegel's restaurants...never received $18.00 shoeleather there!) Here's
Hoping the cook will consider making a change in perch prep ...or maybe a road trip elsewhere to experience how it should be done.

Service was pretty slow on a Saturday night but the server was apologetic which I did appreciate. I had the blackened shrimp on

Saturday night. I felt the experience was overpriced and I'd be hesitant to go back.

I went here with my father on 11/18/24 from around 4-5:30pm. The atmosphere was laidback, cozy and eclectic with warm lighting (the light fixtures were made from blown glass), homey seating and laughter from other guests. The service was good overall, a little slow for it not being super busy, but overall good. We started off with drinks, I got an iced chai latter and my father an ipa, they were disappointing, the ipa was sour and the chai watered down. The appetizers made up for it, we got the happy tots which were warm and crispy and Cuban sliders which were flavorful and juicy, each item was only $6. Then we ordered sandwiches for our main course, I ordered the truffle burger and my father ordered the roasted turkey & avocado sandwich. The burger was AMAZING, genuinely one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. The sandwich was also delicious and filling. What was not delicious, however, was the cocktail and Diet Coke we ordered. The cocktail reportedly tasted like pine sole and my Diet Coke was completely flat. Overall service was great, atmosphere was cozy and food was amazing (just don’t come here for the drinks) we will definitely be back!

My fiance and I were here yesterday and based off the reviews we decided to eat at the knick. Walking in we were greeted, and seated and everything was good. I ordered a rum and coke and it seemed like it was only rum with a splash of coke (not complaining too much on that 😉). Our waitress was super nice and checked on us frequently. We got our food. My fiance got the new york strip and said his steak had no flavor. It was cooked to perfection, the potatoes were delicious but for the price he'd expect more from a steak. As for myself I got the jerk style salmon which was one of their specials, and I thought my salmon may have been undercooked but I didnt say anything. Today my stomach is killing me so it makes me really question if it was cooked fully or not. The salmon also tasted just like plain salmon and I couldnt taste the jerk seasonings which was a huge bummer. Everything else on the plate was good. Because the atmosphere and our waitress was great we are giving the knick a 3 out of 5 stars. Unfortunately due to the food I don't think we'll be returning.

The Knick is a fun, hip place with great food and a relaxed vibe,
We went for Sunday brunch, and if you are meeting someone, then arrive early since it's all street parking and finding a decent spot might take a few minutes,
We sat inside, but they did have outdoor dining options,
I ordered the huevos rancheros, which I found very enjoyable, and the wife ordered the eggs benedict, which was tasty as well as pleasing to the eye,
Yes, I'll go back

We are on vacation and placed a large order. The restaurant refused to add ranch to our order despite the size of our order and us calling twice to kindly ask the restaurant if we could have a side of ranch. We were unable to add ranch via Uber eats when we initially tried. The woman we spoke with was rude and dismissive of our request even though we explained that we had a large order and would like certain sauces with our order. The Knick is not worth the hassle of dealing with the unfriendly and unhelpful service.

What the heck? It’s been a while since I’ve been to The Knick, and that is a good thing.
We arrived early and there were plenty of outdoor dining seats available. We asked the hostess off we could sit in the corner table and she was visibly bothered by this but didn’t say anything. Then our waiter, when asked how he was said, “well I’m at work.” It was off putting to say the least. My water wasn’t clean, with lots of different colored items floating in it so I asked for a new one and he looked it over and literally poured it over the balcony right next to us! Everything was not welcoming and bizarre that we decided we couldn’t even stay to eat!

Horrible from the moment we walked in and should have taken the hint. Hostess looked and acted like she was on something. Didnt welcome us or ask us to follow to table, just walked away with menus so we just followed hoping she wanted us to. Took forever for our server to greet us, get our drinks, beyond alone at everything and noticed the same with every other table (3) of hers. Everyone around was complaining about the service. Food came finally with no silverware and it was cold and dry. Had them remake and waited 15mins for a remake which came out OK but still not good. Cappuccino was mediocre at best. French toast horrible. Eggs were eggs, can’t really mess those up. It was actually quite comical how horrible the entire experience was. We wished the other tables good luck as we left.

On a very random evening, my wife decided she'd like to eat here, as they were having a dinner special and it was the last chance for it. The Knick is an upscale yet casual dining experience with tasty food, friendly and accommodating wait staff, and an overall relaxing atmosphere. Even though it was late, the kitchen was still available, and the quality of our food did not suffer any end of shift issues that some restaurants have. I had a simple appetizer, their Knick style Buffalo wings, which are grilled and fried to a crispy char. They were absolutely delicious and tender. My wife had hummus and their ravioli dish, which she enjoyed greatly as well, and as she is a vegetarian, it was a good accommodation choice. For dessert, we had some of their cheesecake with a berry compote on top, which was perfectly delicious as well. As it was closing time, we were also given some extra cheesecake by the waitstaff, who was very friendly and quick to help when needed. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would definitely go again. Truthfully, the only difficulty we had with the establishment was finding parking, as the east side location means the street parking is all that is available, and often it is quite tight in that part of town. One may wish to Uber to this restaurant as a result, or perhaps park somewhere close by and enjoy a walk.

When we were looking for a place to venture back out, the Knick was on the top of our list. Patio seating, downtown, by the lake, great drinks, a menu with variety, and consistantly good service. Servers wore masks, tables social distanced. Have to try the spicey shrimp app, and the Ahi Tuna entre. You won't be disappointed.
Back again and did not disappoint. Dinner was great server was excellent. Love the venue.

The lack of management in the past two years has slowly become obvious. The clientele, music, & vibe has changed as a result. Last night we could hardly pay our bill fast enough as a fight broke out in the bar area. As the Kinck is always consistent and delicious and have never had a bad meal or service in the 20 plus years of dining there I will not be back nor can I any longer recommend safely eating there. I could say more about things I have observed over the past few years of dining at the Knick that has made me uncomfortable but I will leave that alone. So disappointing 🤦🏻♀️ The constant churn has negatively impacted the restaurant as well. The high turnover has lead to inefficiency, as onboarding and training of new employees is lacking. We supported you all throughout the pandemic and continued to tip above and beyond to support you and your staff. I’m disappointed because I feel management is tired and has given up.

Service was horrible. Always order the same food for pick up, thought I’d try to dine in. Waiter was no help asked for a special cooked salmon, she said they had only two options which were neither of the options I’ve gotten before. I threw out some names just to try to get the right salmon, no luck and my waitress Rebecca P didn’t help either, she did her job but seemed to have an attitude the whole time… I got the wrong salmon, told Rebecca, she sent her manager to say they only had the two options. My boyfriend Trent let them know there was not enough seasoning , they said they can do Cajun. I took a bite and immediately knew this wasn’t right, I proceeded to go through my email to show them the order I normally get which was blackened…. I tell the waitress who told me they won’t be making my order until I know what I want. Rebecca P you are the one who was said matter o faculty that there were only two options. Where did the blackened and Cajun come from???? I left mad with my food to go but that was the last order I will place here, also it felt like all the minority guest were getting different service than everyone else. We usually tip well but decided against any tip because of the poor service and attitude. I have gotten better service at Apple bee’s. Would not recommend for minority’s, and always looks like it needs to be m swept. Be careful because food might come with a side racism.

Went there on St. Paddy's Day for an early Dinner before going to the theater Sunday night. Told our waiter Nick our timeline and he got our food to us promptly. He had a FABULOUS personality and made our dining experience a pleasure. The food was wonderful (highly recommend the Truffle Burger). The prices and atmosphere were great. Will definitely be going back again!

Food is normally good but way to much salt on the couscous Salmon entree dinner. Called about dinner manager was busy and the receptionist just hung up in my face. I've been coming here for years and spent a lot of money. Hope they ain't turning for the worst.

Service was great....until we waited 30 minutes for our food, with no explanation of the delay. Restaurant wasn't even half full, but door dash orders were busy. Seems like those in house should not have service suffer.

This is one of my favorite brunch spots in Milwaukee! They also have good dinner. I like that the Knick accepts reservations for brunch. The toppings on the Queen Mary bloody are delicious, especially the shrimp. I really enjoyed the vegetable hummus wrap. The waffle fries may be the best I've ever had! I had salmon for dinner and would definitely recommend. Everything is high quality and a very fair price! The atmosphere is nice, but the service can occasionally be a little slow. The location is perfect, with it only being a block from Juneau park and a view of the lake.

The reason for the one star is, I made reservations at 2:30 because my friend was getting out of church at 2. We picked the Knick because it's one of my favorite brunch spots. With reservations at 2:30, we could make it before brunch ends at 3. So after sitting down, we were told brunch is over and it's at the Chefs discretion. Wow, we were disappointed because we both wanted eggs. Why post your brunch ends at 3 when it's up for discretion?
We stayed and the waitress was kind, but not so attentive. I had to get up and find her to ask for more coffee and asked where I good was. It was an unusually long wait.
On a good note, they had the place all decked out for Valentine's Day and it was pretty cool. I will definitely go back, just earlier so we don't miss brunch. After all, it's one of my favs and maybe this time was just a fluke. Got to give everyone grace, you know? World would be a better place.

We went to breakfast on a Saturday morning. There was no wait and we were seated at a booth near the bar. We really enjoyed the atmosphere as it was quiet and we had someone with a hearing aide. It was nice and quiet. The rest of the seating area seemed quiet as well. Service was great and the waiter stopped by many times to refill coffee and just check in.
The breakfast quesadilla was large with lots of cheese. The breakfast potatoes were not greasy and fresh.
Hash was good, the veggie omelette was very good as well.
