If I ever want to impress visitors or company, this is a must stop. They are fresh bread is to die for and a perfect compliment to any meal. Their desserts are decadent, though I do recommend if you want a full cake to order a couple days in advance just to make sure you get the flavor that you were looking for. Came to Stevens Point for an overnight and looked for a nice spot for brunch on my way back, and I’m very fortunate to have stumbled upon The Main Grain Bakery. So delicious! I got the “MGB Lunchbox Special” which was a Rueben and sooo good. I will definitely be stopping again next time I’m in town and will be snagging some of the sourdough bread on my way out. I live in Milwaukee and visit family in Stevens Point. For the last 6 months this is MUST stop for me. I buy enough to take home and freeze for later. My stop on Jan 26 was DRY DRY DRY. Everything. Scones and Muffins. Bread and Cookie were ok. I consider this time a WASTE of money and no reply back from them. My mom's order was also DRY with burnt muffins. I will be skipping this stop as clearly something has changed with the recipe or the kitchen staff

I think this is relatively normal everywhere you get ice cream. Though it’s just a little silly how every barista has their own measurements of ice cream. This was a small (1 scoop quite literally) in a small cup. I’m just curious on how small a kids scoop would be in the exact same smallest bowl they have.

Terrible customer service seemed annoyed and said couldn't order on the phone but online says to call if you want to ask or add something to a order. Spent sixty dollars and ordered from the bakery but wasn't told I had to walk over to get it so driving over a half hour I wasn't driving back. Asking any questions at all seemed annoyed about it and said no one told me I had to go to both sides it was my first time coming she really didn't care. That is why I called so I could talk to someone to do the order and have no issues but they don't take orders on the phone.

Terrible business. I placed an order for a birthday cake for my daughter’s birthday party. They had the ticket but just didn’t make the cake. No explanation for how that could happen. Every time I place an online order, there are missing items. This is a recurrent theme. We bought 3 cheesecakes as a dessert for my father in law’s celebration of life party in Plover a few weekends ago. Hands down the best cheesecake I have ever had!!! Multiple guests came up and asked where it was from. The staff was so kind when I called in to order, pick up was easy, and the bakery is adorable on the inside. We had breakfast the morning we picked up… the English muffin breakfast sandwich was outstanding! 5 stars is not enough. Amazing experience. Not knowledgeable in wheat free/gluten free foods. I was told a food item was GF. I ate the item and got sick.
And please stop telling people that they can still eat sourdough bread if they need to stay away from gluten. While the natural bacteria may make it easier to digest, and the fermentation process decreases the amount of gluten, it still does not reach 20ppm (parts per million) or less of gluten. Be competent in the information you give your customers especially when it comes to food sensitives and allergies.(glad I didn’t eat the sourdough)

They show pretty cakes on google for weddings and such, but the only way to try them is to buy a whole cake or watch for cupcakes of certain flavors, but when you live more than 20 min away that’s hard. They also said there is no customization, even simple, to colors or decorations for their cakes. Not saying they aren’t or wouldn’t be good. Just an FYI if you are looking for an option for you wedding like us Main Grain is not the most customer friendly, just a what you see is what you get place.

If you're as lucky as we were on our first visit in, you'll be greeted by an upbeat staff and their smiley, hardworking owners, along with the smells of freshly baked homemade breads and sweet desserts. There's a hum here. A happiness.
I ordered the "Clever Girl" sandwich. Described on the menu as, "...a daily driver, a sweetheart with good humor, like someone you always want to hug. It is a nod to all of the reasonable human beings working to better this world." Akin to my personality (haha), it was fun to order and I was excited to try sweet pickles and sweet corn spread -- Two elements outside of my comfort zone. While they didn't have ranch (womp womp) to dip my chips in (because I'm fancy) the sandwich, served on homemade Asiago Thyme bread (the "good" bread as our family calls it) more than made up for it. And truthfully, I didn't need it.
To pair with the delightful dishes, The Eatery also offers tasty beverages. From water, to local favorites like Siren Shrubs, wine, and beer -- There's something for everyone.
Perfect for a small business meeting or an outing with friends -- The Eatery at MGB has it all. We'll be back!

Main Grain Bakery is truly a mission of successful entrepreneurs who are passionate about what they do and they do it so well, we get to benefit from all their hard work and years of toil. Such is the case of Sarah Jo, who came to Steven's Point for college and then loved the town so much she stayed and became a pretty darn good baker. I am certainly appreciative of that because her bakery was one of the highlights of our stay in Steven's Point. We knew of the bakery from it being highlighted on Wisconsin Foodie but what we didn't know and couldn't predict is instead of going there to pick up a loaf of artisan bread, which they were out of by the time we got there (early bird gets the bread folks and we weren't early...) but Main Grain has another part to it that offers sandwiches, soups, salads and delectable pastries and cookies to fill the void that once was a whole loaf of bread... it was a very effective and palatable trip! The Caldoverde soup, which was Portuguese sausage, white bean and potato soup was out of this world! We got the last cup so you know it was good! The Cuban on the baguette was crispy with a soft interior and melted cheese! I also enjoyed the turkey sandwich on the sourdough and don't even get me started on the pistachio, chocolate chip cookies.... mmmmm, mmmmm... Next time, I will be getting up "early" to get that loaf of bread, but I'm staying for the soup and sandwiches too!

My favorite is the Salted Caramel Monkey 🐒 Bread on Fridays & Sundays. Be sure to call ahead and reserve a couple orders of this because it sells out quickly. And when it's gone is gone! (See the attached picture with a White Mocha Latte from Emy J's next door to the bakery)

Main Grain has a lot of unique things that sound really tasty. They do different sweet rolls and of course the bread and sweets. The bread is my favorite, but awhile back I ordered a couple dozen cupcakes and a small cake and they were really dense and kind of bland. I can make much better myself, although they may not be as pretty. They always get the presentation down beautifully.

Many thanks to the Main Grain Bakery for the extraordinary cakes they baked for my daughter's wedding. We had a difficult time selecting one flavor and decided to offer 4 options to our guest.
