At a glance I can understand someone wondering why 1 star when everything else is highly rated. This place was selected strictly because it was along the way home and people in the group were getting hungry. The food, limited for the day because there was no cook and they were open just for the game. According to the waitress the owner was running the kitchen. After placing our order for our group, all but one of us had to leave the table for different reasons, I had to take a call and could not hear inside for it. When I came back to the table there was a tray of wings at the table. We had ordered wings and never being here before we presumed these were ours. Why else would they be placed at our table? Turns out someone messed up in the kitchen when the waitress cam out with our wings. We were told we could keep the wings at the table since they would be tossed in the garbage otherwise. Initially we were told they would be free since we hadn't ordered them and the kitchen had made the mistake not us. Half the group left after they ate as they had an additional stop on the way home and wanted to get there quickly. They paid their check and left. Here we are enjoying our wings and pizza close to getting ready to go and the waitress comes and says the owner is pissed that we are getting free food because HE messed up and could we pay for part of the wings at least. I have worked in restaurants where owners have been like this so I know if we said no then it is VERY likely that this would have been taken out of the waitresses pocket instead even though SHE wasn't the one who brought them to the table. Waitresses get screwed over enough so we agreed to pay for some even though we DID NOT ORDER THEM. We tipped the waitress and I gave her some insider info as well as a decent tip. I don't care if this is the only location open when we come through the area again, and we regularly do, we will NEVER STOP HERE EVER AGAIN due to management. I don't care if the place gets sold we still will not come because of the jerk in the kitchen who doesn't know how to run a business.

I'm only giving it three stars because of the ambiance, service, and salad bar. Unfortunately the food was not good and way overpriced. We ordered prime rib medium cooked and it was almost well done. My daughter had a pasta with chicken and it just wasn't good.

My mom got a free meal because her angus cheeseburger was sent back & it was still pink the 2nd time. She didn’t get her tater tots back. She ended up just eating off of their salad bar. I was offered that too for free in addition to my meal. She ordered a chicken salad sandwich which she never got. The cooks said she got it, & when the server went back, apparently they told her “I don’t know what to tell you.”. It was busy, but thought that was rude of the cooks. I wouldn’t recommend this place. We won’t be going back there.

We visited The Pines with a group of friends during the Warrens Cranberry Festival and had a fantastic time. The food was excellent, from the Angus burger to the onion rings, the Philly cheesesteak, and everything else we ordered. The service was attentive and friendly, and we were even greeted by the owner, which made the experience feel extra welcoming. Everything was great, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

For the first time being in this fabulous place,was awesome..all the staff very personable, and easy to talk with,the service was awesome, my lady had fish fry with salad bar,was awesome. I had one of the homemade pizza's it was the thin crust Hawaiian, pineapple, Canadian bacon,and i added jalapeño peppers!! Was the best tasting pizza ! Stayed at the three bears Lodge and needed food both nights that we stayed. The first night we carried out and the staff was friendly. We got a large pretzel, some cheese curds, and a couple buffalo chicken wraps. The wraps were good, the curds were really good, (and that's by Wisconsin standards), and the pretzel was gigantic! Do yourself a favor and get the pretzel. It was amazingly tasty, and the perfect size for sharing. The next night, the pines delivered quickly on a busy Friday night. The salmon was fantastic and the mango salsa paired very well. The rice was amazing and the beans were great too. I would recommend if you're in Warrens, get a meal from here.

We stopped at The Pines in Warren, WI on our way to Jellystone and had the pleasure of being served by Linda. She was super sweet, friendly, and quick! She recommended some amazing food, and it did not disappoint. The bartender was also very friendly and made us feel welcome. Overall, great service and a great atmosphere. What a fantastic restaurant! Very friendly waitstaff and they do an excellent job. The menu offers a wide variety of foods from coconut shrimp, to fish tacos, crab cakes, fried pickles, smoked wings, ribs, etc. Such a good menu and relaxing atmosphere. On 7/26/2025 four adults and a infant was seated by the owner at 5:30 pm. Wait staff walked by our table for 30 minutes. Jenna the waitress asked if we had been helped we replied no she said I will help you then I will be right back. Ten minutes later took our drink order, 15 minutes brought the mixed drinks and said sorry the bartender walked out so hope they are correct. I said please take our order before the table of ten place their order we have been waiting long enough. She said my ipad died and wrote our order on a napkin. The owner came out and took the order for the table of ten. The waitress gave the salad bar for free since waiting so long on the food, realized she did not bring the shake that was ordered or the lemonade or coffee. Returned with the coffee and lemonade and stated machine boke to make a shake. Gave the drinks for free. The table of ten was served their food and we still had not gotten ours. The food finally came to our table 2 hours later. We do not eat until the entire table has their food- called manners and we came to dine together. The food was tasteless, cold, simply gross. I spoke with the owner and she said I guess my order got in first. Jenna is a super hard worker! Will never eat here again.!!! Rude, Rude, Rude owner....

We waited over an hour and a half with a cranky toddler for what was supposed to be his birthday dinner, just to have to box it up and leave because it took so long to get to us. Our server was nice, but kept apologizing saying “sorry we’re just so busy” when there were like 4 other tables of people inside and maybe 3 outside, there’s no reason it should’ve taken that long for Mac and cheese and a few sandwiches. The food was good, not worth the long wait though. Also (not the restaurants fault) had to mention that some of the kids in the play area were super rude to my toddler who was just trying to play while their parents sat there and watched and didn’t say a thing.

This was a great little place we happened upon by accident. We were traveling on vacation and the kids needed a potty stop and this was the next exit. It's RIGHT off the highway, couldn't be easier to get to. There's a gas station right down the street.
The food was really good, staff were nice. I had a cheese burger, hubby had the fish tacos. He said they were just ok... It looked like they just used fish sticks in them, so not great but not too bad. The girls had chicken tenders and grilled cheese. The bread on the grilled cheese could have been toasted a lot better, still a lot of white regular bread on it, but the girls ate it ok. Everything was priced decent too. We'll very likely come back again!

Amazing food, welcoming atmosphere and superb service! This local gem was exactly what we needed after the disappointment at a nearby resort! Their Friday fish fry was delicious and well seasoned, my son enjoyed his pulled pork mac and cheese (very flavorful pulled pork), my oldest son didnt care for his pulled pork nachos (he thought the dish would be something different, but was served with warm pineapple chunks which he felt ruined the dish and is more of a personal preference) they made my daughter a sandwich that wasnt on the menu (which was much appreciated!!) We used to love eating here. every friday night for date night since last summer. Last 3 times we have had terrible service. I get it, sometimes it's so busy and we give so many chances and never say a word. Also they have changed owners/staff. This time the Salmon was over cooked and burnt, rice was just mush. The shrimp appetizer was over cooked. They did offered to fix which i appreciated..but at that point, after waiting 20 mins just for our drinks to be refilled we were just over it along with the long wait on our food. Then waited 20+ mins just for the check. also the waitess forgot to cash in our tabs after taking them, i never asked about them at the point when she took our card to pay because i just was tired of waiting at that point. We just wanted to leave. I absolutely hate leaving bad reviews but after spending 100+ dollars there for dinner and getting horrible service it's just frustrating!

This is everything you want in a Wisconsin restaurant - fresh salad bar, daily specials, Bloody Mary and Old fashioned menus, pull tabs, pool table, great bar - what more could you ask for? Great, quick, friendly service is another huge plus. Positive after positive here: super clean, large patio, stellar location for a stop off 94 to grab some food or swing down if you are staying near by. Icing on the cake are small kids play areas both indoors and out. This place literally has it ALL. This place delivers on every aspect of what you expect from a classic WI restaurant (and more). You definitely need to stop in and see for yourself. (We will be stopping every chance we get.)

This was my first time at The Pines. It was great, I read some reviews before choosing for dinner on a Saturday night, Oct 12 to be exact. The service and food was great. We had pizza, and I wanted primerib. Lol even though I didn't get what I wanted (aka birthday party of 6) I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. Jenna was great and the pizza was good. We were seated on the patio. Waited more than 20 mins for someone, anyone to acknowledge us. Nothing. Not even an "I'll be with you shortly". 4 other groups were seated after us and ALL were acknowledge and served drinks while we just sat and waited. I loved the children’s play area, which is genus! However the food seemed previously frozen (think bulk packs of dumplings) and service was a bit odd. Our server was friendly at first and then she pretty much disappeared mid meal. After waiting a long time for the check, we asked for help and was told the server had been asked to leave. While vacationing in the Tomah region of Wisconsin, my wife and I brought our two kids to The Pines Restaurant for dinner for their advertised BOGO smoked wings on Wednesday.

When we walked in the place was moderately full, this resulted in a bit of a wait time for our food. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, continually checking in on our table and giving us updates as our food was being prepared, and with a popcorn machine available, it was easy to work through. There was also many games and activities for the kids to be preoccupied with. All that being said, the star was really the GREAT FOOD!

Our whole family's agreed that the food was delicious! I can personally attest that the SMOKED WINGS were some of the BEST I have ever had! They have a number of different sauces for you to choose from, but in this reviewer's opinion, leave the sauces on the side, because the wings are delicious as they come!

Overall my family left full and highly satisfied with our service and meal! If you're ever near the Warrens area of Wisconsin, especially on a Wednesday or a day with their other smoked meat specials, you ought to make this a place to check out!

We had a great experience as a family here, even with bringing two young kids. Jenna was our server and did a great job! They were super accommodating, and the food was amazing as well. I’m honestly shocked by how good this place is. My family (2 adults and 3 kids) are staying at Jellystone and this was the nearest restaurant. My expectations were low but…holy smokes! We all loved everything we ordered. They also had an area where the kids could play and that gave my husband and I a minute to just talk to each other. Our server Holly was really friendly and gave honest input on what we should order. It was awesome.

A great hidden gem right off I-94. The smoked wings are amazing, so amazing we came in twice during our trip to a nearby town. Jenna, our waitress, was super attentive and took great care of us! We will definitely be back!

Definitely coming back for Father's Day, if we can! The food was amazing, especially after working up an appetite swimming at a nearby waterpark! My mom and I decided to check this place out since we were celebrating her birthday. We came a little bit after the lunch crowd had left, so it was a nice and calm atmosphere. Our server was a sweet lady named Linda. Mom got the 12 oz. steak, and I got the creamy pesto chicken and pasta. Both meals came with soup and salad bar. I told Linda about an allergy, which she checked back multiple times on me, to make sure everything was OK. The salad bar was all fresh, and they even had real bacon! After we were done getting our leftovers into boxes, Linda brought out a decadent chocolate cake slice for mom with a candle and everything! Such a beautiful gesture and the cake was soooo delicious it had us both in tears. The ladies' bathroom was pretty cute but small and didn't look wheelchair accessible... thankfully, I wasn't looking for a handicap stall.

Recommend getting the salad bar for your side.

I got the smoked wings with barbecue and buffalo sauce mixed! By far the best wings I’ve ever had. And I’ve eaten a lot of wings from all over the country!

This restaurant needs to be on the food network as top places to eat in Wisconsin!

I love that this location is right off the highway and is easily accessible. The atmosphere is cozy and filled with welcoming staff who are warm, funny and a joy to be around. We sat outside and they had blankets and cushions along with table games we enjoyed prior to the food. The food came out faster than expected and tasted delightful.

The staff is so amazing! Very friendly and got jokes. We absolutely loved it here. They had games for you to play while you wait. The food came out fast! I ordered the blackened chicken pesto and it's was so creamy and good! The cheese curds were good too. Everything looked amazing! The outside patio was spacious and kids friendly! We stopped for lunch on our way to Milwaukee. I can’t say enough great things about this place. We had the fish fry special (Fridays), the mussels, and the fish tacos. The owner was so welcoming and her service was outstanding. We sat and talked with a sweet, friendly regular (say hi to Coop if you see him!) and it really made our day to spend it at the Pines. A true gem!

I find it hard to believe this place has a high rating. We got the fish fry. Overpriced for the little bit you get. Salad bar was ok. Fish was overcooked, dry and tasted like it was pre battered frozen and microwaved before being put on our plate. Baked potato was not fully cooked and was very dry. Rice was good. Tartar sauce was nasty. We were first brought blue cheese dressing which was actually better than the tartar sauce which says a lot. Very disappointing. Will not go back. Will not recommend. $18.50 for two small pieces of overcooked dry microwaved tasting fish.. There are other places that are much better and cheaper than here.

This was a great find by my daughter while we were on our way to Eau Claire. We stopped off at "The Pines" for some lunch. We were able to watch the Marquette basketball game. It was a really fun atmosphere, and very good food. The hostess introduced us to a game we've never played while we waited called "Shut the box". It was a fun way to pass the time while we waited for our food to be served. Very friendly and attentive staff.

We visited three bears and came here for dinner - so good - the prime rib was smoked since 5am and you could taste the flavor throughout the meat. Ordered a 16oz and probably recieved a 22 oz cut at least 2” thick and perfect medium rare. My buddy ordered rare and they were able to deliver also. Love the fact they have a salad bar and a great area for kids to play with toys - very satisfied and definitely recommend - celebrated my sons 8th bday and of course they let us bring in a cake - he at at least 10 mussels also

We came in with 3 kids and 2 adults after a LONG day at the water park. We were greeted by the sweetest waitress who was so accommodating! She seated us in the kids area per request, which was wonderful. They had a corner with kids toys and an area for the kids to play while we waited for the food.

The food was delicious!! Our waitress was able to answer all our questions about the dishes and had great recommendations. We really felt taken care of here and would come back in a heart beat.

As a plus, they had a beautiful dessert platter to display all the cake slices you can get. We were so stuffed that we got them to go and thoroughly enjoyed them at our hotel later!

We decided to stop here on our way from the Twin Cities to the Dells, and we were pleased! Our 1.5yo was very excited there was a kids play area, and it was a great way to let him let out wiggles after being in the car. I stumbled across this place after having my car break down and am so glad I did. The owner Marie (I believe that was her name) was so down to earth and a great time to be around. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered wings which were smoked and had them tossed in Mango Habenero sauce which literally the perfect balance of spice and sweetness along and you could still taste the smoke. They had a salad bar with a huge selection of toppings and sauces and everything was very fresh. All of this washed down with to coldest Blue Moon from the tap that I have ever had. Even though I live in Chicago, I will definitely stop there if I ever am in the area.

This restaurant is excellent. Sometimes when a family of six with four small children come in you aren’t necessarily warmly welcomed. Not here. We were greeted right away and felt welcomed. Each staff member we interacted with was pleasant and friendly. Food was excellent there were toys for the kids and a staff member whom I’m assuming was the owner gave our kids candy as we left and didn’t rush us out the door. We will definitely be back! I’d give these guys 10 stars if that was an option! I’ve gone twice now and man I will always choose them when going out as a family or for a date night. They really cater to both! Not only is their customer service up to par but their atmosphere and food anre equally aa amazing. They by far have the best prime rib I have ever had. Personally I think it’s better than Freight House and priced so well.

My family and I are from out of town. We love this spot and will definitely be back! The pizza is fantastic. They have great perks during Packer games, like Flag Football. Everytime there is a flag drying the game a ticket number is called and free drinks are given to that individual until the next flag is called. Such an interesting perk. Something else we found out, it's pet friendly! We have a puppy and can't find anywhere in the area that will allow pets to come and hang. We found our new spot! Our service from Holly was fantastic, she was very tentative. There's nothing to complain about, what a great turn around!

if i could give this place negative stars i would. if i had 4 more thumbs i would give it four thumbs down. The $9 grilled cheese gets you two pieces of wonder bread and slice of kraft American cheese singles .My dad ate it in two bites. Our bill was $70 so disappointing.
