The Asian Chicken was good and tasty, the only reason I'm giving em 3 stars is because of the service. I waited almost an hour for 10 wing pieces. Not even 10 whole wings. First if I would have went to the restroom before ordering I would have walked out. Bathroom smelled like backed up sewer & lighting was very dark. The food was horrible. Pork chops salty. The food took a while to come out. When it did come out, the food was cold. We asked our waiter if she could warm our food up. She did, apparently, but when she brought it back the food was STILL cold. It tasted like it was canned food or food that had already been sitting out! Decided to give this place a try for soul food Sundays. This place was not good compared to the price they charge for their menu. At max their food should be no more than $13/ plate. My smothered pork chops were salty, potato salad tasted funny, meatloaf was burned, dressing was dry w/ no gravy and they gave me 2 dressings instead of collard greens. The only good thing was the cornbread and the mashed potatoes. Also, it took over 35 minutes to get our food and the whole place smelled like old grease. I really wanted to try this place but it was a big disappointed.

The food is garbage, when they 1st opened is was okay, but as time has went on, food has went downhill. Thought I would give them the benefit of doubt but the food tastes like it just get cooked and rewarded over and over until it is dried out. Went for the first time on Mothers Day. I know they have a regular menu, but this day, they just had a buffet. Very good portions and food was good. I only would have like two issues. It was a lot of young people who not saying in bad way but just didn't have basic customer service as waiters and you was only giving two tickets for trip to the buffet which is not my complaint. I saw a lot of people wanting to use their second ticket as a to go because they got full on first trip. It's paid for already so I didn't understand why they didn't approve of that. It would've made tables free more faster. That's why I gave 3 stars rather than 4.

Honestly, the worst customer service I've ever experienced from any food joint. Tried ordering Ashley Fries w/ extra meat (obviously I'd be willing to pay more for extra meat) but was reassured 3 times they do not offer such a request. Extra meat is apparently a hassle for this place so instead of up-charging for it they simply refuse to sell extra meat to customers with this particular item. Terrible, terrible judgment. Weird experience. I and my wife have been excited to try this local spot. So this Saturday we stopped in at 9pm. The front door was locked but a young man was exiting and held the door. At the door was a security officer. I asked the security twice was they opened and he initially ignored my question. He then asked were we dining in or out. We answered that we were dining in and he proceeded to pat me down and search my wife’s coat. Never have we been searched at a restaurant. We entered and the young host with the red Afro puff asked were we dining in or out? We replied “dining in” and the disappointment was immediately apparent on her face. She sat us at a booth, gave us water and we sat there for 20 minutes waiting on someone to take our order. No one ever came. They didn’t ask if we wanted to order drinks or food. They just sat across the room periodically glancing at us. Eventually we left without being served. We drove to Botanas and immediately upon being seated someone was taking our drink order while we decided what to eat. The Q was disappointingly weird.

I went to The Q for my birthday, and what a wonderful experience it was. The wait staff is so pleasant and attentive. The restaurant is huge and a wide open space. It was so clean. The bar was very well stocked. The music was “on point”. I don’t know who the deejay is, but he is dope for real. I didn’t get a chance to hear any poetry, but I’ll catch it next time. The atmosphere was very calm and chill. The customers were very relaxed. I mean this restaurant is a hidden jewel in our community. I had no idea this place was so amazing. I’m excited to see how well this business continues to do in the city. Now - let’s talk about the food. First, the menu was extensive to me. There was so much to choose from. I ordered the bbq shoulder, greens, coleslaw and cornbread. Before 7pm, the margaritas are $5. Try the raspberry!!! It’s off the chain. My friend had the cheeseburger that look like it came on grilled “to perfection” Texas toast. It came with a million fries, and she also ordered onion rings. What I’m trying to say is . . . The Q is everything and more. I will definitely be back. That’s for sure!!!!

I really love going there in Soul food Sundays! The DJ is amazing and it gives you that," visiting family on Sunday" feel. Good Food, music and drinks along with family makes for a great day. I am SO disappointed (and I usually don’t write reviews). I have been eating at Ashley’s for awhile and haven’t eaten here many times with no issues. However tonight I just left there and again am so disappointed. I waited over 30 minutes for my food (some chicken and shrimp and grits). No one ever came up to me to explain why it was taking so long. Then I got my food home I have a big bowl of grits with 5 shrimp or less shrimp in it. My chicken is cold (and I came straight home) and the fries were so soggy looking. The part that is REALLY horrible was the amount I paid just to have this mess. I’m done horrible. I only gave one star because that was the only way I could write a review.

I had mixed feelings about this place. I originally came in for salmon croquettes but upon arrival, they did not have them. I ended up ordering the meatloaf with Mac n cheese and yams. My slice of meatloaf was probably about a pound. No joke! The flavor of the meatloaf was great but the meat was heavily burned on both sides so I only ate the middle. It was decent once you got past the burn. The sides were good but they were too small for the large portion of meat I was given. The highlight of the meal was the cornbread!!

I had a TERRIBLE experience. Customer service needs a lot of work. The food lacked the flavor I was expecting. It was dry/overcooked (salmon croquettes/Mac n cheese).

Detailed issue: Agreed to try out this restaurant for my relative's birthday. This is the first restaurant I've been to where you have to chase down the servers for water, to take your order, and bring the bill etc. Note, water was ordered ~1hr before the food but finally came after the food was served. The water was then spilled on me(accidents happen) and then my table was ignored (not accidental)! We still had sides that weren't delivered to the table! The owner/cook was also rude. The manager was the only person who was professional and tried to fix the situation which was appreciated. No, worries... I won't be back.

We went to this location for the first time tonight. We used to go to Ashley's Q on National Ave, and loved it, so we weren't sure what to expect.
It was great! I had the shrimp and lobster Mac and cheese and my husband had the beef brisket platter. Both were delicious and plentiful. Service was very good, prices are very reasonable and the interior is very new, well lit and clean. The gentleman at the host station was awesome and I noticed how he was always walking around, cleaning, checking on guests and ensuring everything was in order.
We will definitely be going back to work our way through the rest of the menu!

It was a decent time. Upon entering at 9pm the music was bumpin like a club. I made my 14 yr old wait at the door while seeing if he was allowed in or not. There was a bar, dj and plenty seating. The hostesses were very nice and friendly. They will bring you a hookah menu and drink menu.

My son and i ordered two appetizers. Seafood fries and Ashley fries. Seafood fries were delicious and the Ashley fries had a bit too much fat from the pulled pork and fries cooked a bit too hard

I had coleslaw and mac and cheese sides. About $4.50 a piece which is expensive for the small amount you get. Coleslaw was alright but the mac and cheese is a pass. I wouldnt order that again. They should try a new recipe with a little more seasoning.

I wanted alfredo but i couldnt see paying $17 for noodles and sauce. That is the price with no meat and no sides.

So for 2 appetizers and 2 sides, we both had water, total was $38.

I absolutely Love this place. Ive had it 3 times. It's a City away(32 min drive) BUT I literally make my way. For one there staff is so Nice, respectful honest and helpful. This place is a solid 3 stars with room for improvement. I went here on a Friday night with a coworker friend. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. The place felt like a Black cheers. Friendly, warm, welcoming. We sat briefly before the waitress came over to give water as we looked over the menus. The portion sizes are huge so we ordered things we could share. Here’s where the improvement comes in: the food. The wings were ok seasoned well. The catfish was ok as well. I could have specified to dry my fish hard I will next time and edit this review. The Mac and cheese was not good. Adjusting the recipe could help and the greens were just ok. I think some editing of the menus items and this place will continue to grow and be amazing. MKE needs a good soul food hangout spot.

W e visited The Q recently. The first dish I tried was BBQ pork shoulder. I can assure you that this was cooked in heaven. I have also tried the pork chop and Gumbo, all of which made my palate sing with joy. The ambiance is relaxing and the service is prompt and friendly. I am now a frequent visitor and highly recommend this place.

Professional and friendly staff;ris atmosphere is clean and inviting. Purchased the pork belly fries and the seafood fries. Flavor of both was good, just the pork was cooked a bit too crisp and the seafood topping a bit salty.

I enjoyed my meal and several others I tasted 😋 the prince sandwich was the bomb and the pasta was great could use a little bit larger shrimp but delicious and my wings were out of this world being a chef for over 28 years this food gets five stars I will be back you got to try my cupcakes though too I didn't see any desserts there

Ordered the seafood Mac & cheese & what was supposed to be beef brisket…was disappointed to say the least. I couldn’t enjoy the Mac and cheese due to every bite taken having to spit out bits of the shell (crab/lobster)… first bite I’m like ok, it can happen but after that 4th bite and looking at the small pile of shells I was putting on the bag, I didnt eat another fork full.
The brisket was beef shoulder & not brisket, the taste and texture to me are different, the greens left something to be desired. Very sad. Not sure if I’ll be returning.

Had a reconnect with my sister friends, we had a really good time. We sat back, ate, laughed, and talked about everything. The atmosphere was great, the music was amazing, our hostesses were really good, friendly, informative and attentive. They did really good with sanitizing after guests.
