The Ranch in Hayward is a great little supper club in all the best ways. We went for a late dinner with some local friends and had an amazing time. The food was outstanding, everything that came out of the kitchen looked delicious, and I honestly wanted to try it all. The service was top-notch... friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.

We all crowded around one of the big barrel tables, laughing and enjoying ourselves late into the evening. We were probably the last group in the place, but the staff never rushed us or made us feel unwelcome. They kept smiling and chatting like we were old friends. It’s the perfect mix of great food, great people, and that cozy, down-to-earth supper club charm that makes you want to come back again and again.

Quintessential Wisconsin Supper Club. We love the vibe of the whole place, but we're especially fond of ambience of the bar area and bantering with the staff. We didn’t know about this restaurant just happened to come across it on Google. We did not have a reservation and she seated us right away. It was busy but not crazy, we went at 5:30. We stopped by The Ranch Supper Club in Hayward, WI for their Friday fish fry and it was a fantastic experience! We ordered the walleye and cod, both of which were cooked to perfection. We went because of the wonderful rating and pictures. Plus it says it’s wheelchair accessible. The men’s room is NOT! A smaller wheelchair cannot get through doorway and when inside the stalls are not accessible no bars or way to get a chair in the stalls. We spent a lot of money to not be able to eat our dinner. Had to take it to go and eat it cold or reheat. $130 for two of us to leave embarrassed and mad. Take some money and widen your doorway. It would be an easy fix.

Had a fantastic dinner at The Ranch! The steak was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, and the bread they serve is seriously amazing—warm, fresh, and addictive. The veggie tray was a nice surprise, and the cheese on it was unbelievably good.

What really made the experience stand out, though, was our server, Michael. He was absolutely outstanding—friendly, funny, professional, and incredibly attentive. He made great recommendations and made us feel truly welcome. It’s rare to get service that good these days! We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be asking for Michael again.

This place does have a good variety of food. The reason for the rankings portions and service. The portions on certain dishes felt quite small for the price, the service was quite slow even with reservations, and the server only checked on us once or twice and never refilled our drinks. We were on a double date and would likely have had a few more cocktails each and spent more time there including dessert, but the server never came back after the initial drink order.

My wife and I ate here last night for the first time. She had the Friday cod fish fry and I had the walleye. Upgrade from normal walleye Friday dinner to the regular dinner menu. Go with the broiled fish on both as well. We found the broiled superior to the fried. The reason for the Food four star rating here was for the diet Pepsi over diet Coke. The diet Pepsi just does not taste good at all. Every food item from the relish tray to the carb offering was very well prepared, tasted fantastic, and Michael treated us very well. I know this one demerit is overly picky and snobbish, but I felt it needed to be mentioned. We will be back and if on Friday, will more than likely will order the same. It was that good.

The relish tray for four people was pathetic. Not much on it, with a few cut carrots and celery, and pickled herring. I ordered the scallops and they were very small. First time here and the service was good! The old fashioned we ordered was way too sweet and mojito tasted like it had no alcohol in it at all..
our food was delicious and prepared correctly! Only thing we did not like was that you did not get a vegetable with your steak or prime rib. It was just the meat and one side and the side was a small portion.

I ordered the 16oz Bone-in New York Strip with shrimp and loaded baked potato. The entree itself was delicious and put me into a meat coma afterwards, but it was definitely worth it. The service and atmosphere were great! (Shout-out to my service Michael!) The only thing I would change would be the relish tray and fish cakes. While both were good, they were a bit lacking. The fish cakes were more of a hearty starter instead of a typically more delicate crab cake, this was most likely due to the wild rice base. They definitely needed the accompanying dill sauce. Overall though, a very nice meal that was worth the price.

We had scheduled reservations for 7 pm on a Friday evening and arrived at 6:50, we were seated promptly, however greeted rather rudely.There were at least 4 open tables, probably more when we arrived. From there we waited 15 minutes to place a drink and appetizer order. Drinks then took another 10 minutes to get to us, so right around 25 minutes to get drinks. I ordered the NY strip medium rare, it was very, very rare. My wife and daughter ordered a filet, medium, these “steaks” were all fat and gristle . My son ordered a cheese burger, that was burnt. My wife, daughter and I each ordered a loaded baked potato. The loaded baked potatoes came out to us with what appeared to be a melted square slice of cheese on it. I’ve seen other reviews that mentioned they felt unwelcome as they were out of towners. I whole heartedly agree with this assessment. We watched as a waitress laughed, joked, and smiled with other guests, but as soon as she made eye contact with our table, the smile quickly disappeared and changed to scowl. The Ranch misses the mark as a restaurant and even more so misses the mark of a Wisconsin Supper Club. With a total bill, including a tip of around $275, we left hungry and unsatisfied. Very disappointed. First, the Old Fashioned aren’t muddled. Custom cocktail requests were not well received. We ordered cheese curds and bacon wrapped dates appetizers. Bacon was burned. Service was very poor. We came in at 8pm which we knew they closed at 9. We sat at the bar and didn’t get acknowledged immediately. I had an old fashioned that was way too sweet. They asked us after if we were eating and got menus. I ordered the walleye special and my partner had a steak. We ordered our meal at 820 and our food was not delivered until well after 9. The dining room had cleared out by this point. Fairly certain the bartender did not put our order in until almost 9 when we were given a relish plate that we didn’t order. My partner then got the clam chowder she ordered and I got a bowl that I did not order as well. Our food came out shortly thereafter and it was in fact delicious. So the low rating is only because of the service.

Poor service, order was not put in so they rushed the food. Food was very poor. 16oz rib eye was ordered medium, came out rare and not allowed to rest, it was tough and chewy. Cheese curds were below average. For the price you are paying it should be much much better.

We enjoyed amazing food, tasty cocktails & had attentive, delightful service. We dined on walleye, ribeye and shrimp.. no pictures because dug-in so quickly! Highly recommend, we will be back.

Really really disappointed in our meal last night. We did not have a friendly server and some elements of our meal were very good and some were not. The potatoes were cold and when brought up to the server, we received a stone-faced look. They were replaced with reheated old tasting potatoes. The same thing happened when served luke warm coffee. The lobster was not up to par and steak was not prepared according to our friend's doneness preference. Scallops were good and date appetizer was good but over all dining experience was a bummer.

Had the ribs once they were very good, brought people there from out of town bragging about them, they horrible, dry, and definitely not work the price! Steak was ordered medium rare, came out medium after literally a 45 minute wait steak was tough could not chew it! Waitress was good wasn't her fault she complimented our dessert. Not sure if we'll be going back!!

Food was pretty good. There was a party of 6 people there who were very loud. This pretty much ruined the experience. There was an elderly couple in the corner who tried to tell their server about the noise, she didn't do anything about it

Good steak restaurant in Hayward. Great service and we had a great waiter. They at least had a kids menu. I had the ranch steak and it was good but nothing special. For how much we get, I didn't think it was worth the price. We will definitely try again, but probably not until next time we come out to visit the area.
