First time here living in Racine over 2 decades and I can say this is a new hot spot morning cafe for me! Mikey made sure our service was on point! He recommended the turkey apple bacon Sandwich and yes, it was yummyyyy! Modern feel with large windows all around. Food came out fast and it was pretty busy. They take Apple Pay. First time here. Stopped in after a nice bike ride along the lake. Checked out the reviews before hand and everyone seemed to love the food/place. I would agree.
It's located on the ground floor of an office building. During normal business hours you can access it through the building main entrance, but it was saturday and you enter through a side door on the south side. The dining area is nice, but not especially cozy. (why atmosphere is 4 stars)
It was nearly noon and the place was starting to get busy. The staff were friendly and helpful with the menu. It was past breakfast we ordered a sandwich and salad. A TAB, Turkey, Apple and Bacon sandwich, with curry spread. And a Smoked Turkey, Apple and Cranberry Salad. Both were excellent. The roll with the salad was just okay (a piece of baguette would have been an improvement).
Overall, a great dining choice.

I stopped in for an early lunch yesterday on my way back to Chicago, and was very pleasantly surprised to see a fried walleye sandwich on the menu. It was excellent - freshly fried, good dressing, and a very good roll. The combo with drink and a side was a great deal, and while I had high hopes for the German potato salad, alas... too much sugar, not enough vinegar. Service was good, albeit a bit perfunctory. Next time I'm in Racine I'll go back for the tuna fish sandwich, which gets rave reviews.

It was the morning after St. Patrick’s Day, and we were hoping we could find somewhere that had corned beef and sauerkraut is some form or fashion for breakfast. We were in luck…. We sat down and immediately saw our former neighbor and his son walking in. They sat with us. Five minutes later another neighbor and his wife walked in. The service is ALWAYS friendly and helpful. Our drinks were perfect. Super hot... Just like we like them. I tried the Cobra Chai Tea Latte... SUPER delicious. It is a normal Chai Tea Latter with Hot Honey in it. We didn't get anything to eat... But I can tell you that everything I have ever got there is delicious! I so enjoyed The Red Onion restaurant. First timers! Spacious. Unique. Enjoyable. They take good care of the restaurant while noting they have been in business 21 years. It's modern, clean, and seems to be maintained well. The employees were friendlyj. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. I enjoyed coffee and a brie, tomato, and basil omelet with a side of bacon. It was a perfect portion size for me. It was satisfying as well. I was so glad that it wasn't as crowded as other nearby places have been for breakfast on a Saturday am. Parking was easy. Another wonderful place for a meal in downtown Racine. It's definitely one of my top 3 places to go to.

There were no cranberries on my apple, cranberry, turkey salad. I was expecting not processed turkey on my salad, and it was processed turkey which I have to be careful of being pregnant. I had the best sandwich and soup EVER!!! I ordered the deli sandwich with ham, turkey, salami, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion. and mayonnaise, phenomenal! I dont remember the name of the soup, I think it was chicken chili, either way it was just as great, and the best part about it was how the perfectly beans were cooked. Delicious food. Great specials for a mix up to the normal menu. And you can't beat the pricing. Under $8 for a full sandwich, soup, beget, and drink. 10 out of 10 times I would go to Red Onion over Panera.

Ate here when I visited the more Racine Art Museum. A short walk and we were here. Took a minute to see how the menu worked but the food was was delicious

The Red Onion Cafe has delicious breakfast, Great quality coffee, and excellent staff. I feel inclined to mention a slight blunder I had shortly before writing this review.

I occasionally come to Red Onion to purchase a torpedo ( basically three or four espresso shots and ice) and a caramel macchiato for my mom. This day was no different. As I made my purchase, I went home looking at my cup in suspicion and concluded that I had half the amount I purchased (8oz. in a 16oz. cup). I returned to the cafe prepared to express my disappointment and frustration.

As I stated my grievances, the young lady was attentive and professional. She attempted to explain to me with the cup sizes, unfortunately I was still not getting it and continued to argue. Another young lady came to assist and explained the (now) glaringly obvious detail that espresso shots are not that high in volume and very potent in caffeine. They had, in fact, gave me the correct amount for my purchase. I feel foolish, but I also feel refreshed to see how well they solved the problem on the spot. My only excuse is I should've had a sip of that torpedo before I tried to start a debate.

On another note; I suggest trying the scrambled eggs with toast, its a solid breakfast to start a day.
