Course layout was good, greens had a fair amount of variation and challenging, and was overall in good condition. Unfortunately, the riding carts all had damaged seats, and the minimal clubhouse left something to be desired. Avoid the buckers at all costs, they hadn't been raked in what seems like weeks and we're unplayable.

Tale of two nines. Back is links-style, front is tree-lines with fairways as tight as my buddies' wallets. Nice course and in very good shape. The greens were quite challenging as well. Will definitely play again if I'm in the area.

Great golf course middle of fall leaves are raked all but 2 holes of the 18 hole course. Good price for cart and person 40$ tee times where spaced up pretty good no one was pushing me as I'm a slow golfer.

The range is decent too has a token system there so if you don't use all the tokens you can save them for a later day 😉

This is in my Top 5 courses in the state that I've played (I'm not counting pro level courses). This course is split up into vastly different 9 hole courses. The front is heavily wooded with old growth trees that almost force a carefully faded drive or, to be safe, a low-iron shot. The back is a more open links-style course that can demand some shot creativity. Natural water hazards created by the Rock River add a bit of extra flavor. Greens play faster than you'd think when it's dry. The course is beautifully maintained and the staff is always friendly.

Other things of note. The front nine floods easily after heavy rain due to the river....I can't knock the course on this because they don't control the weather. The driving range is across the parking lot facing away from the course. I like this because I hate courses where you'll have to find your own ball from the hundred or so range balls on some random fairway. This course is also very affordable.

Very fun course to play. I golf a few times a year and it’s a nice challenging course; the greens were challenging too. I enjoyed myself playing here. The golf course could use some direction on the roads to direct where the holes are, especially finding the back 9. Great experience and would love to come back!

Was very excited to try this course after reading great reviews. Was extremely disappointed in the fact I paid full price for 18 and the maintenance was incredibly rude. Was chipping/putting and they decided to talk extremely loud, not being considerate for golfers. Maintenance also had several, more than 5, fairways with full sprinklers on, and would not turn them off for golfers. We were only able to play a few holes on front 9 being able to utilize fairway, but as soon as we would finish a hole they would turn them off as they were staring at us having to use the rough to play several holes. Could not use range finder, would not go through sprinklers to get distance. Went into clubhouse after round, asked for food menu, said they couldn’t serve food because hood was cleaned in kitchen that morning?? I own a restaurant and I have never shut down operations over my hood being cleaned as it only takes an hour or two. Sounds like poor planning/scheduling.

We recently got married here at The Rock Golf Club. It was beyond perfect! The venue itself is breathtakingly beautiful and offers plenty of gorgeous photo opportunities. The food was excellent and everyone loved it and complimented it. The staff here did everything they could to make our day special. Fun golf course. Lots of sloping greens to make challenging putts that rolled well. Liked the bridges and how rock river starts in this area. Front 9 was a little more challenging where the back felt a little more open to work with. Very small if anything for a pro shop where the bar area and dining area was pretty nice. Would play it again.

Good golf course. Would go back. The only down side for me is that its a little expensive; $47 per person for 18 holes. The other down side is the back 9 holes. They are more open but the the sun is in your face if you go in the afternoon evening. Other than that I would recommend to go here.

So went there for Labor day weekend. Had a 9:30am tee time. (7 hours to golf) The golf course was packed with weekenders golfing. There was only 1 (ONE) person working the whole golf course. NO drink carts, NO food in club house, ONLY ONE person working the bar with 50 people standing around waiting for a drink. You would think for the $184 we spent and the other 20 foursomes (total $3680) or so paid there would be some staff there to accommodate. Not counting the $1000's lost in sales. IT'S LABOR DAY WEEKEND. Absolutely unacceptable!!!!!. I am glad they didn't call me back in the beginning of the year when I was inquiring about a membership, I clearly would have been disappointed with that as well. Will never go there again, nor will I ever recommend it to others. The one positive was the young lady working. She had a smile on her face the whole day. TIPS?????

Played on Saturday afternoon. It was busy. We had a three some. Played the 1st nine behind a super slow two some in a cart. The club also let a walking three some out ahead of us on the back 9.They were also very slow. Made for a long day. The staff was friendly and the course was fun and well cared for.

August 2020 we held our wedding reception at the Rock and it was beyond perfect. The clubhouse is absolutely beautiful and the course is stunning. It's also reasonably priced. I highly recommend anyone looking to host an event to check out the Rock. Laura (the manager) was there all night to make sure it went smoothly and to take care of us. The food was amazing! The bartenders were great and friendly. The layout of the building works perfectly for events. I can't say enough great things about it.

Their policy for using a cart is horrible as they make you leave a debit card or ID. On its face this isn't bad, but when they leave before you finish your round of golf you're now stuck the rest of the night without money or an ID! Had to drive over two hours round trip to retrieve item. Was told I was receive 'gift cards in the mail'. I thought this was an odd way to give this, and of course they never showed up. Ill never go back to this course and will gladly pay more elsewhere to be treated as a valued customer.

The Rock was a magical place to get married. Not only is the food absolutely delicious but Laura is so incredibly accommodating. She made the stress of wedding planning so much easier. Go for the beautiful landscapes with carefully tended greens , stately trees (100 yrs old)?), and prairie grass outlining the course. I'm not a golfer but I wish I was after playing 9 holes. The trees , the streams with bridges, and tiny ponds dotting the course ( I saw an egret ? and picked up a wandering frog to return to safety). This golf course would make an interesting painting when one considers the trees are so old but seem symmetrically placed.
The clubhouse bar has local beers on tap , interesting cocktails, and a beautiful view of the course.
Order the food ! I had a Havana sandwich that would rival any chefs best sandwich. The pretzel appetizer was the size of a plate, lightly buttered, and freshly baked. The other appetizers rivaled the pretzel!
The staff was outstanding despite the volume of customers. The dining room features a beautiful display of the course. Nice place for a retirement dinner? Bridal shower? Or birthday party?
Plenty of parking. Delicious food. Friendly staff. My day there was memorable.

Rock River Country Club is great! Although, we haven't golfed there before, we had our wedding reception there. Though the room was crunched for 150 people, we had a gorgeous view, delicious food (CJ's Catering), and great service! We were even allowed to light off our floating lanterns on the golf course at night.
