Very good food- fresh ingredients and good flavor. Server was friendly enough- not overly friendly, but friendly enough. Did not offer refill of drink. No o e said “hello” when we came in which felt weird and a basic thing, but that’s okay. Good variety on the menu. We started with the avocado fries- freshly made and crispy but flavorless- the sauce they give you made them delicious though; the oils not get them again. The Nashville hot chick n Cobb salad was delicious! Quality ingredients and super fresh. Could’ve used more dressing but server did not come back so couldn’t ask. Husband got the hot honey grilled cheese cheeseburger. He said it was very good. Fries were crisp and freshly made. They have a good selection of alcoholic drinks but we weren’t drinking this day- will be back to try some of their mules for sure.
Overall a good place to eat and we will definitely be back!!!

The server was nice, I don’t know where the errors came from. The really good chipotle salmon salad and veggie burger were a little over shadowed by the appetizer that never arrived and the salad that came with the cornbread croutons I told her I was allergic to. So, fun menu and atmosphere, good food but never got to try the fried pickles. Also, when you make two fairly significant errors and the people are nice about it, maybe offer a free drink. The $3 discount was a little weird and underwhelming.

Fun spot in downtown Oshkosh! My husband and I were looking for a quick spot for dinner and to watch the baseball playoffs. TVs were easy to view from almost everywhere. Went there with a group of 11, plus my infant daughter (they have both regualr and high-top high chairs available), and we had an amazing time! Drink selection is solid and wide. There is something for just about everyone. The service was prompt, and our waitress entertained us trying to get a few different group photos.

The brisket burger patty upgrade was well worth it, the cheese curds are phenomenal, and the prices were what I would classify as affordable for a dine in experience. (Our total group tab was $400, including 3 apps for the table and the large group mandatory 18% gratuity. My wife and I's share of it was $41 for our meals, a soda, and 3x 13oz beers)

We will definitely be stopping in next time we're in town for AirVenture! Thank you for the quality food and service!

Poor service. Walked in to have lunch and was not greeted but just stared at. When I sat myself down, there was only one other table who was seated and two people at the bar. All of which had drinks or were already served food. My wife and son shortly joined me and were again not greeted when they walked in. We sat for about 10-15 minutes just being stared at. No one came to greet us, offer drinks or appetizers, or were told someone would help us soon. We were ignored the whole time we were there. Even after we decided to leave, as we were walking out, we were once again just stared at. Very sad as our first experience was great and the second time was ok. We ordered and I was brought the wrong sandwich. They apologized and said they’d be right out with the correct one, it would just be a few minutes. So my partner waited and ate slow so we could eat together. 5, 10, 15 minutes go by, no food. But lots and lots of other people’s food went past. By the time I got mine, his was cold and he was done eating it. I get mistakes happen, but put the customer whose order you messed up first. I saw so many plates of food go by. We stopped here from out of town before seeing the Herd play. We seated ourselves and it was not busy when we arrived. Server seemed put out to wait on us. I ordered the Hot Italian beef. I was curious about ordering the avocado fries. When asked if they were good, server asked in a rude way, well do you like avocado? I said I did but I never had it hot. She then tells me how they are made and does not provide whether people like it. So, ok I ordered regular fries. Then my fiance asked about the special dessert which ended up being a banana pie thing. I asked if it was like banana cream pie? She had a cocky response to that too. Otherwise her service was fine. Just weird you can't ask a normal question. The hot beef tasted OK. Beef not super juicy or warm. The cheese barely melted. The dessert was very good. Portions were decent.

We ordered our dinner to-go. Everything we ordered was delicious - roasted brussel sprout salad, burgers, avocado fries, and sweet potato fries. My 4 yr old can be picky about meat (just usually doesn't eat much of it), but these burgers got two thumbs up from her (and the adults). We have been to the Ruby owl many times when my daughter was in college. So tonight we drove up from Waukesha to take her out for her birthday. We got there at 6 o’clock. And was seated right away. We ordered cheese curds and when they came out we finally could order our food. Our appetizer came right away, but it was another hour before our food came. My husband ordered chili along with his wings, and the chili never came. Now we could’ve asked the waitress for it beforehand, but she never came back to our table. The menu said jumbo size wings, and what we got was definitely not jumbo sized wings. The chili seemed pretty watery as well, and my husband didn’t even eat it. The waitress never apologized or said that the wait was going be a long time. We were almost ready to walk out and go somewhere else to eat. And then we go to pay our bill and she charged us for somebody else’s bill. This was definitely not the experience I wanted to have for my daughter‘s birthday. No apologies from the manager or any staff.

We’ve been here a number of times but just did not have a great experience this most recent time. We went at admittedly their busiest time, around 6:30 on a Friday, but we were served our drinks quickly and got our appetizer after a slightly longer 20-30 minute wait but otherwise with no issues. Unfortunately, the kitchen ended up deleting our ticket on accident and no one caught it until about 30-40 minutes after our order went in originally. Our server, who was very kind and apologetic, put our order back in for us as soon as they realized the mistake. If that’s all that happened it would be fine, but after about another 25 minutes our food came out pretty bad. My wife’s burger was gray all around, dripping in grease, undercooked, missing toppings and the ones that were there were clearly just thrown on in a rush. My chicken sandwich was also overcooked on top of it. I want to be crystal clear that our server handled the situation well and I don’t fault her at all, but all in all we ended up waiting over an hour for pretty poor quality food. Our experience this time is an outlier overall but it was a pretty low point and we’re going to avoid the place for a while.

My family have been customers since RO opened. Historically we have had solid 4 star food and service. Great beer selection as always. The food quality has dropped a bit, but I still get a decent plate most of the time. What really bums me out, and the reason I 'm wtiting this review... is the very poor quality of service, food, and resolution we received recently. Our family came to celebrate our daughters academic achievements and RO has always been a sure thing for a nice time. It started going south from the start. Our server lacked personality and seemed to have no interest in our existence beyond writing down our orders. She was not rude, just expressionless and appeared somewhat "out of it". Pro tip: If you are waiting on friendly and respectful customers.... at least pretend like you care and maybe try and crack a small smile at minimum. Our drinks came out fairly quick, as well as soup and the first of 3 appetizers, cheese curds. 20 minutes later we still had not received our other two appetizers. We hailed our server and asked her to just box up the rest of our order and bring the bill. About 10 minutes later she brings us a bag with three boxes and takes our card and bill. We check the boxes because there should have only been 2 boxes. Sure enough it was not our apps, but someone else's dinners. At this point we have been at RO for over an hour and had 1 round of drinks and cheese curds that were lackluster (very greasy and more batter than cheese). Finally another employee (very nice and apologetic) says the rest of our order was given to another table. They refunded the cost of that portion of the order (our server had already charged us for the full order) but still charged us for the poor food and service. Whatever. The point of all this is... if this were my business I would have been embarrassed and appalled that my customers had such a poor experience. Yes, it only takes one employee with a careless attitude to spoil an evening. I hope this was just a one off experience and things get remedied.

I ordered take out burgers for my wife and I and they were incredible. I had the candied bacon burger and my wife had the jalapeno popper burger. Both were delicious. My wife had the cheese curds for a side and they too were delicious. When I called in, they said it could be ready in 15 minutes, but we didn'tl want to pick it up for another hour or so. Was our first time here and can safely say this is definitely the best burger in Osh Kosh! Sad we didn't find it sooner. Tucked away downtown, this hidden gem contains a full bar, plenty of seating, lots of tvs to watch sports, and has a cozy rustic atmosphere. The staff is efficient and friendly with fast service. The food is outstanding, burgers are made from high quality Sirloin, the salad is refreshing and has a well balance of flavors. The wings are crispy and tossed is flavorful sauce that will have you licking your fingers. The chicken gyro was marinated to perfection and served with taziki, feta, and fresh veggies served on a warm, fluffy pita. Not just microwaved burger patties or cheesecurds. Ruby Owl's burgers, hot sandwiches (I loved the Reuben), and appetizers were top-notch! My family enjoyed their meal very much. My 8 year old wanted another order of cheesecurds-they were so good, we went ahead and ordered it-because-YUM!! We made some substitutions because of our diet, and they were able to accommodate with ease. We also asked questions about food preparation, and they were happy to answer. I don't have any pictures of the food because we ate it up! They offer regular table seating and the high barstool type seating. My children would have loved the higher chairs, but I find them very uncomfortable. The waitstaff was helpful and friendly. The prices are a tad higher than say, Culvers, but the food tastes so much better and authentic. We didn't realize this, but there is parking in the back-so convenient. Stopped by this place . Got good reviews and good beer and thought why not stop! Server was very helpful. Food was delicious. Recommend cheese curds; Avocado fries; steak tostados, Hawaiian sliders - sweet yet spicy. Dee-lish!

I went there with a friend and even though there were plenty of staff, all our service was just incredibly slow. At one point I had said to another waitress as our waitress was no ware to be found for very long periods, that we were ready to order. Our waitress came out and it was very apparent she was angry. I'm not trying to judge she may have been too busy behind the scenes. I don't know. All I can say is it's not a place to go for a quick bite. You have to have hours at your disposal. Food was ok.

I enjoyed the roasted butternut squash salad. It was built pleasing to the eye with quality ingredients. The squash was perfectly grilled and the bacon was hot and fresh. The greens were crisp and it wasn't piled with iceberg. Our server was kind and attentive.

We were a party of two on Saturday at 730p. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. Great selection of tap beers. After we placed our order, it took 63 minutes for our two burgers to come out. Despite the different excuses we received, the food was good, but it didn't stand out from other bar food.

The food is always great! However the service seems to get worse and worse. We come here once a week and we always sit at the bar. Everytime we come here the bartender disappears 15 minutes to chat with everyone in the kitchen. I do not recall the last time I didn't have to try and flag a bartender down to get a drink. I love this restaurant, but I feel these bartenders and servers need to spend less time hanging out in the kitchen to socialize with each other.

However Scott Doemel has never let let me down or disappeared.

With all of that being said, it's still our favorite restaurant with thr nest food.

This place is a hoot.

I don't typically like bar/American food, but this place is delicious. They have a super tasty twist on classics, like avocado fries!

We visited for lunch during the week and the food was quite tasty! The cauliflower appetizer was AMAZING!! Several of us enjoyed a variety of salads and they were all very good. We had a group of 7 and the wait for our food was a little long, but worth it.

A group of 5 of us arrived for lunch on a Wednesday with a reservation. The place was packed but they let us know that food may take a bit longer. Our food came in a reasonable amount of time. I got a burger and thought it was really good. I asked to have it medium rare and it was a perfect medium rare. I would definitely go back.

Ruby Owl has an amazing selection of unique beers. I come for Sriracha aioli and avocado fries! The burgers were really good. Candied bacon one and the setting is trendy, downtown & comfortable.
