They catered a wedding at the Prarie Springs venue in Milwaukee, and the food was delicious and plentiful!! The buffet offered barbecue (brisket, pulled pork and vegetarian) and many side dishes that received rave reviews!! They were easy to work with, and their serving staff was very professional. We highly recommend their catering for a wedding or any event!!

Paid 2000 plus dollars for my sons wedding food to be catered. Here are the facts:

*2 hours late (bride and groom were frantic and didn't know how to feed 150 people with no food)

*Because they were late the food was cold. It had just come from the frig and had no time to sit on the warmers

*Buns had mold on them ( the wedding parties buns). When shown to staff they didn't pull the bag (yes bag , not a nice set up) they just grabbed it and start freaking out making calls and then a second and third bun...

*They forgot the chicken. several wedding guests including the person who officiated do not eat pork. Therefore, several guest went without food.

*Not sure if Salad dressing or ANY bbq sauce was ever brought out but was not there when the first 30 people came through.

*Staff started banging into people while trying to collect paper plates to put in the trash. They had one of those wierd gray bins and a young kids who had clearly never helped before!

The only compensation offered was the return of the 400 dollars for the missing chicken.

Super 😡 upset 😡 disappointed and embarrassed in front of family and friends! Do not recommend!!! Absolutely horrible experience.

After calling several times with no call back it was even more frustrating.

Today they made it right and sent back 800 of the 2000. Thank you for making it right.

June, 2025. Bartender somewhat attentive even when not alot of people were in the bar. Brisket super dry, food came out fairly warm. Problem with payment system causing people to use the ATM to pay. In all fairness, been there before and was ok, but this was a decline. Will probably give it another shot, but if the experience is the same or worse, forget it.

This dish is not BBQ, and it’s not even smoked. It had almost no flavor at all. I ordered brisket, corned beef, and pulled pork, but all of it was essentially inedible and very expensive. There are better places for BBQ in Milwaukee. This was simply not good.

We used Saucy Swine for their catering for our wedding and could not recommend more. Guests were raving about the food. I literally had someone come up to me and say, "Usually wedding food sucks, but this was really good!!!"

My favorite part about hiring them is how seamlessly they took care of everything in the background. Matt took the time to meet with us at the venue in advance, so on the day of they were set to go and did not need a thing from me. As the bride, I cannot say how much this was appreciated. They also left the leftovers, so we got to enjoy the food for the following days.

Huge thank you to Matt and the entire Saucy Swine team. If you are thinking about dining at their restaurant or using them for catering, do it!!!!

We were extremely disappointed and left after 20 minutes. Expectations were set on the low side when we entered a few minutes before 5pm on a Sat. night. We immediately saw the sign to order all drinks and food at the bar.

We were a party of 6 adults that were probably spending $150+ and as we were not one of the "regulars" sitting at the bar watching the end of the Brewer's game, the only bar tender totally ignored my son patiently waiting to order drinks...we never got a food menu and took our party and $200 someplace else.

This was such a disappointing experience. This was my second time at Redbar & Saucy Swine. My first visit was amazing — the food was so good I couldn’t wait to come back. Unfortunately, this time was a huge letdown.

I spent almost $90 expecting another great meal, but what I got was mostly fat instead of actual brisket. It was barely edible — hardly any meat, just thick, greasy fat slices. For the price I paid, this is completely unacceptable.

I’m really disappointed because I had high hopes based on my first visit. Sadly, after this experience, I won’t be returning, and I definitely can’t recommend this place anymore.

So, it is a Monday (normally quieter), but it's St Patricks Day. The bartender was totally on her own (managing best she can), but the place is packed. Wait time was 20 mins for food (take out only) and we came back 45 minutes later still waiting for food.

I have no idea what the process for staff is here but I mean c'mon! You have to look after your locals and all the other crazy people who are only coming out for St Patricks. Terrible planning and we asked for a refund because this is totally unacceptable. We are very local and with this bad experience we will never frequent this place again.

Awesome little place to go to. I found it through Google maps and decided to head on over with my friend. I ordered the brisket and it was amazing. It felt right off the fork when I went to pick it up. It was juicy and succulent. Highly recommend the brisket. The coleslaw was great too. It was refreshing and went well with the brisket. The corn muffin was tasty. I liked it. Nice and sweet. The dill cucumber was different, but it went well with everything else. The whole meal complimented itself nicely. We ordered carry-out on a Monday night. I went in to pick up our order, waited a bit and then was given what I assumed must be the wrong order, as it was multiple bags and seemed like too much for two sandwiches with sides. I asked the staff member if she was sure it was correct, that it looked like more than we ordered. She “checked” and confirmed one of the two bags she gave us was indeed ours. Overall it was about 15-20 minutes waiting to get it sorted out. We drove the 15 minutes home and sat down for dinner, only to discover it definitely wasn’t what we ordered. (Regretfully I didn’t check the inside of the contents before we left the restaurant) We tried calling many times but was never able to get through. We drove back, my spouse continued to call on the drive to give them a heads up, but we were never able to get through. We told the same staff member what had happened, she did not apologize, just disappeared in back for awhile without saying anything. About five minutes later she came back with our order (which had been sitting out for an hour at this point and was room temperature) and proceeded to hand the bag that we had returned (and had opened and had in our home) to the customer that had ordered that. Yes, another customer unknowingly received hour-old food that had been in our house. The staff refused to compensate us in any way or acknowledge any mistake. It was very strange experience and a bit alarming considering health code violations. And yes, we did pay for our food before I noticed the original error and I did tip well. Definitely will never go back, not just out of customer service but also food safety concerns

The people and establishment were nice. My only down side was the food. Definitely not fresh, totally reheated from a previous cook. When I go somewhere for bbq I want it fresh cooked that day. The sides were mediocre and not hot. Same thing with the meat. Seasoning was pretty much non-existent. Pulled ham was the best. Pulled pork, and pulled chicken looked like it was put in a food processor and not pulled. Brisket totally overcooked and fairly dry. Fat not rendered all the way. Definitely couldn't taste any smoke or even see a smoke ring. Sausage Definitely wasn't smoked, that was boiled or something.

Delicious. Fresh. Flavorful. Large portions. I had the Funked Up Rueben. The corned beef was juicy and thick sliced. Fun having gouda AND Swiss on a Rueben and cool that kimchi was in addition to the sauerkraut. House made remoulade was delish. My boyfriend had the Milwaukee Melt. He thought it was tender and flavorful. We both upgraded to the 5 cheese mac n cheese and it was def cheesy and yummy! We both agreed we would definitely recommend saucy swine to anyone without hesitation! We have enjoyed their menu before including at a friends catered bday party and have always loved everything. Saucy Swine has always been good. Our only challenge was that the sides had too much meat in them and it’s nice when you have bbq to have something meatless. Despite that the sides were good. I’m not sure what changed but it seems they have changed their recipes to have less or no meat in them and they were perfection today! I hope they keep it that way. I contacted The Saucy Swine last Spring about catering our wedding in July. Matt was responsive from the get go and answered all of my questions. I chose to go with The Saucy Swine based on their reviews, the way Matt communicated and the price. We were having a very casual wedding reception and we wanted our guests to feel relaxed and well fed. We made the right call!

We were expecting about 100 people at the reception. We chose pulled pork and pulled chicken for the meats and our sides were mac 'n cheese and buttered green beans. Angie and Becky showed up on time and after a quick tour of the venue, they got straight to work. My sisters in law also made a fruit salad and Angie assured me that they'd put that out along with all the food they'd brought. These gals were a pleasure to deal with. They were friendly and efficient. When dinner was over, they wrapped up the leftovers and I made sure they got some cake before they headed out.

We got tons of compliments on the food! We had never eaten at The Saucy Swine.I know we should've made the time to go and try their food, but we just hadn't done it. We will definitely be going now! It was so good. The mac 'n cheese is quite possibly the best I've ever had! Their homemade pickles were incredible! We had a choice of three sauces and when I told Matt that we just wanted two of the mild sauces, he suggested that he'd just add the Korean sauce. I was a little nervous about it as the description said it was spicy, but it had just enough spice and wasn't too hot. Everything was amazing and using them really made our wonderful BBQ wedding reception extra special! Thank you Matt, Angie and Becky for doing such a fabulous job!! 5 PLUS stars!!!

Stopped in to try the BBQ ribs, take out. The building has heavy logos for the Redbar. But inside they take orders and serve for the restaurant "Saucy Swine".
The place looked like a pretty nice local dive bar, and they were somewhat busy after work on a Thursday evening, but far from crowded. It did take quite a while to get the attention of the bartender, but then we're able to get a menu. Once the order was placed, the food came out quickly.
Honestly, the sauce was tasty, but the ribs were horrible. Disgusting really, bordering on inedible. Only with lots of sauce could they be tolerated. The dry rub was odd tasting, very sweet and kind of fruity. But the meat itself only tasted and smelled of fish. There's no explanation how this could happen other than either cooking the ribs on the same uncleaned surface fish was cooked on, or cross contamination somewhere else. Luckily nobody seems to have gotten sick from it!
Finally, the side of beans were also bad. Pretty sure they were not supposed to come out as an odd tasting chunky paste, so likely long overcooked. At least the butter for the corn bread was good.

The Saucy Swine is located in a small dive bar in St Francis called Red Bar. This is definitely one of Milwaukee's best kept secret restaurants. The service is bar service, but the food is downright Gourmet BBQ sandwiches. They just added a smoked corned beef Reuben and I dare say it's better than McBobs. You won't disappoint yourself or anyone you bring with you. All sandwiches can be made vegan/vegetarian with smoked portobello mushrooms or fried shaved brussel sprouts. Truly a gem in the southern area of Milwaukee.

We tried a full rack of ribs for takeout last Friday and enjoyed them. The sauce was fantastic, but the ribs had a little fat. I know the fat adds flavor, but it’s like eating fish that hasn’t been filleted. I don’t enjoy pulling stuff out of my mouth. The baked beans were fantastic, but the Mac and cheese was nothing. I threw mine out. I’ll return to try the Reuben and the brisket. The RedBar was fun, and I’ll pen a different review for the tavern.

1/2 rack of ribs. Plus side, they were dry rub. Which is always a plus for ribs. Allows you to taste the flavors of the meat and add you own choice of sauces they offer.
The downside for me was that the ribs were tough. Good rub and taste, but just tough. 6/10

As a BBQ fanatic, I was excited to try someplace new. Unfortunately I should have tempered my expectations as soon as I didn’t see a wood pile or smell any smoke. I ordered the sampler platter with drunken beans and was severely let down. Where’s the smoke? The one piece of brisket I received had zero smoke ring on it and was more fat than meat. Tasted like it was made in the oven. The pulled ham, chicken, and pork were also smoke free :(. The two pieces of pork belly were dry and tough….on top of having zero smoke ring or smoke flavor.

The only highlight would be the range of sauces, all of which were good. Unfortunately the meat required sauce to add any real flavor, not what I’m looking for in a BBQ restaurant.

My daughter and her finance wanted to have a pig roast for their wedding reception. The food and service were excellent, everyone could not believe how good it all turned out. Quite a few people said it was the best they have ever had. The sauces and pickles are to die for!!

Ok full disclosure, when I first walked into the place I was a little disappointed because it seemed to be just a bar and I thought "oh no basic lame bar food" but I couldn't have been more wrong. The food is absolutely delicious. We had the Meatloaf and the Bougie philly both were off the charts. And their drunkin beans (had as a side) were to die for. We were here on a Monday and noticed that what seemed to be the restaurant area leading upstairs was closed off. It's probably open closer to the weekend or something. 1000% Would recommend.

They have a pool table and tabletop games which I thought was a nice touch. The only thing is there was only 1 bartender working! She was doing a killer job, but management needs to get it together. She had a full bar with the Brewers game that night and a bus had stopped in, she was working so hard (got all the orders right and waited on everyone's drinks AND served all the food). I hope she made bank for everything she was doing. ❤️‍🩹

We were visiting Milwaukee from Green Bay and were trying to find something near us for dinner. This place had great reviews and the pictures looked awesome so we decided to give it a try. It's part of a bar, but pretty cute inside. There was just one employee/bartender and she was really nice and helpful. Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed with the food. I had the brisket platter and the brisket was so dried out I couldn't even finish it. No fat on it at all, just super tough. The mac and cheese looked awesome but it was very floury tasting and blah. The pickles were excellent though. Girlfriend had pork belly platter and the pork belly was pretty good. She got the chips and they were very stale and cold. Cornbread muffins were also cold but fine. We did appreciate the bbq sauce choices, they were all pretty good. Overall it was just really disappointing to spend 17 bucks on brisket that was mostly inedible. I don't think I'd come back if I was nearby again. Maybe we just got unlucky, because other people's pictures on here looked a lot better than what we got. Oh well.

There was one bartender her hormones must be going wild ⁸ that was very rude to me, the other bartender was very very pleasant,even the people sitting next to me, thought she was rude to me as I was checking out I says well I must be getting old she says yeah you must be getting old in a very rude manner. Outstanding! This place is inside the Red Bar tucked away in the neighborhood. My Sons and I stopped in after a guys outing. Saturday evening and they were busy. The staff moved through and took care of all. The BBQ was amazing. We all had something different and it was great. Definitely will be back and will recommend. Don't miss the Mac and Cheese, it is the bomb!

This is a bar that happens to have some fantastic next-level bar food. We split the bacon bombs, cheese encased in a bacon crust, very tasty. The smokehouse mac mixed several meats in a cheese pasta blend, also tasty and my bougie Philly sandwich was good as well. Do not expect the fine women behind the bar to come out and ask if you need a refill, sashay on up and get your own. They have a private party room upstairs that was hopping on a Sunday morning.
We're going back to try meat/sauce combos. They have a 6pack to choose from 4 sweet and 2 spicy, the sweet ones were all good imo.
Lunch for 2 with an appy, 2beers 2sodas and 2 entrees came to $55 pre-tip, that's good to normal for us lately. We're going back!

The service was lack luster when I went. The bartender would not leave behind the bar. The only time she came out from behind the bar was to serve the food. The rest I was made to get up and grab my drink and menu and take out container.

The ribs: I'd give the ribs a 7/10
The seasoning was stellar
The ribs I felt could of fallen off the bone a bit more than they did
I tried the Burbon BBQ sauce with this and that was a 9/10 sauce.
The Wisconsin Mac & cheese gets a 10/10 for me. The flavor, cheeses, and a bit of pepper was delicious. Was some of the best Mac&cheese I've had in a long time.
The deviled eggs I got as a side where a 10/10 I'm not sure how it's made but the spices in the yolk are superb. It's hands down one of the best deviled eggs I've had in a while.

Overall I rate it a 4/5 I hope they can find a bit of a better service for the people whom come to dine in. I only tip people who do give me good service. That can kill a business with amazing food.

The brisket sandwich was so good. My biggest complaint was how i felt unwelcome there when i walked in. I get it, it was a Friday night and only 2 bartenders were working the room, but it was our 1st time there and i felt like i walked into someone's house uninvited. If it wasn't that we went out of our way to go there, i was starving, and i didn't know where else to go at that time, i would've left. The bartenders were overwhelmed which made them short and rushed with us. It just wasn't the best experience. I'm just glad the meat was good.

We recently catered BBQ from The Saucy Swine for our holiday party and it is by far the best BBQ food I've had in Milwaukee. Matt was amazing to work with. Pork, chicken, mac and cheese, homemade pickles...AMAZING!

We have also eaten in the bar before and it was also fantastic. Get an awesome bloody mary, enjoy their BBQ platter and watch a game. You won't regret it.

Absolutely amazing spot for high quality BBQ. Your options here are not limited and I believe you will not be disappointed with whatever you end up choosing.

This restaurant is located within a bar, Red Bar. It appears to me that both businesses operate under one and you'll have a standard bar experience.

Food is high quality and significantly better than your typical bar food. All meats are cooked to perfection. The menu is big and they have rotating weekly and nightly specials.

We ordered The OG and the Bougie Philly along with the BBQ Chicken Bites. I can't see how you can go wrong with either one of these. However the quality of the food is good enough to make you want to try new things next time.

No table service available and all orders must be placed and picked at the bar. The bartender who also takes orders was very friendly and very helpful with the menu.

The atmosphere is OK. The place is full of props and decorations to enjoy looking at while you wait 15-20 minutes for your food. It's okay but don't expect any thing out of the ordinary from a neighborhood bar.

Good food, weird atmosphere. This place feels like a bar that happens to have a kitchen, but the food should be the main focus! Lots of great bbq sandwich options and some daily specials. Served with bagged chips. Pay at the bar when you order, or order takeout but don’t forget to ask for the sauces!

My food was tasty, but given the price and amount of food plus the wait time and lack of atmosphere it isn't somewhere worth coming back too. Service was fine. Outdoor dining patio was small and the smoking section was overpowering so we moved to the front picnic tables which have no shade. If I lived walking distance, sure, I might swing by occasionally. But not worth a drive when there are tons of better places right near by with a bigger menu anyway.

The Saucy Swine catered our wedding and we couldn't get enough compliments on the food! It was very flavorful, Matt and the staff were very accommodating, and everything well priced. Though a pig roast was untraditional, that was what we were aiming for, and in the end everyone was well fed!

The food and service was amazing, helped offset the horrible service from the girls bartenders with attitude and no help. Food wise, the pickles are AMAZING, the brisket was tender with a nice smoke and the sausage was great too.
