Been a local for years, The New Settlement does not disappoint, I had the monster burger for 13.00 and was not disappointed for the price, My girlfriend had the chicken tender basket and was a great amount of food for the price, all in all the service is great, atmosphere is warm and friendly! We moved to the New Franken area about 2 years ago. We never tried the Settlement until about 3 weeks ago. We are so mad we waited this long. in three weeks we have ordered 3 seperate times. We always get it to go and it's sooo good. Best burger i've ever had!! im serious, if you are looking for a classic gooey cheeseburger you gotta go here. My husband is self discribed as a burger connoisseur. He opted for the Cochinita Torta he said it's the best sandwhich he's ever had. He's gotten it three times and says he can't NOT order it. My favorite is the Mushroom Swiss burger because it comes with a garlic cream sauce. Also their fries are SOOO good.
This is such a gem in the area. I'm going to be controversial: burgers are better than the other local bar. *wink wink*

We would always come in for Thursday cod sandwiches always loved the service until recently. We got food to go and it tasted like batter wasn’t cooked through I called immediately and talked to the owner. He asked me to send photos which I did I then brought all the food back he refuses to fully refund and tells me I only get half back and how convenient it is I get to keep the food but then expect a full refund! Absolutely your right I do expect a refund how convenient u got your food back and my money and we’re our 4 meals!!!! My uncle had the double order of perch and said it was "almost too much." My mom had the regular haddock, but she probably could have done with a half order.

We walked in and it was nice looking. Then the table was covered with spears from mixed drinks all over. The waiter was nice but our service was awful. Had to go to the bar for a refill, and after ordering our service only got worse. Our food had taken over an hour and we asked when it would be done. They said 10 more minutes the last table had taken the grill up but they were eaten and fully gone. The restaurant had 3 tables taken including us and some people at the bar. The wait was not worth it for the food. Our pizza was not supreme and it was burnt. Additionally it was a frozen pizza for 18 dollars. I would not recommend. The workers were un apologetic and would not recommend.

My wife and I use to enjoy the food and the service at the Settlement when the old owner's had it. We decided we would give the place a try under the new ownership. When we walked in the door they weren't busy but no one even said hi. We went to a table and were told not to sit there I have to clean that table which was fine. We sat at a different table a few minutes later the server came over asked us what we wanted to drink and if we were ready to order. So we did. We both had.the perch plate. It was truly the worst plate of perch I ever had in my life time. No one asked us if we were enjoying our meal or asked if we needed anything. I paid the bill and we left. We will not be going back

This place was excellent under the old owner, food was excellent. After the new owner took over we decided to check this place out. I would rate 1 star and low, we ordered a Philly steak sandwich, it should have the steak pieces but not sure what they had. Taste was terrible possibly freezer burnt. I would not go here again. Friday night we decided to try a new place for fish.

The place is very nice looking inside and appears that it had been remodeled recently.

A haddock plate and Combo plate were ordered. It comes with coleslaw, choice of potato (fries, baby reds, baked potato or potato salad), as well as rye bread with onion. The combo plate comes with haddock, perch and shrimp.

The haddock plate was ordered with 4 pieces. The sizes of the pieces are all different. Some were your standard thick pieces and others were large and flat. I appreciate that they use the whole filets, however the flatter pieces were cooked the same amount at the thicker pieces which made the thinner pieces over cooked and tough. The thicker pieces were good and the fish was flaky.

The shrimp on the combo plate was really good as far as the cook and so was the perch.

The breading that is used is a panko breading and was seasoned minimally. The breading was a nice amount on the fish and was very crispy.

The coleslaw was basically flavorless and was dry. They also didn’t provide onion for the rye bread with any of the orders which was five different dinners.

Food is great. 1/4lb. The burger is big enough for me and an order of fries wow.
The kicker was we each had a bowl of delicious chicken dumpling soup. Huge bowl and so filling with nice big dumplings, it really filled us up. There was only enough room for half of the hamburger and some fries.
The place is somewhat noisy and the table was very tippy and rocked.

Stopped in on a Friday night. Which is fish fry night. I’ve been there several times but never on a Friday night. Fridays are completely different for dining. We attempted to go to a table to sit and order our food. We were told in a very rude way that you can’t just go sit at a table on Friday night. They have some weird number system that they use for that specific night but the rude sweaty bartender couldn’t be bothered to explain how it worked. So as others entered, they got numbers and ordered their food before us. I said something to the bartender about how I thought it was weird and she said something like “we’ve been doing it like “this” for 42 years”. Nothing like making you feel unwelcome with her rudeness. 🙄 The funny thing about the whole experience is that when our food was finally ready, we were taken to the same table we attempted to sit at when we first arrived. The food is good and the portions are huge but the extremely rude bartender ruined my experience. It’ll be a long while before I go back and I live just down the street.

We hadn't been to The Settlement for years. The opportunity came up to go there. The food is excellent. Good portion sizes.

My granddaughter ordered fries and the waitress asked if we wanted to split the order between us. I said yes. My granddaughter was confused. When the food arrived she saw how many fries were there and agreed that it was a large amount. Think basket full.

By the way, Friday night has fish fry. You think a single order would be enough definitely. If you order double or triple order you're either taking it home or you planned on sharing it.

Overall, I was impressed yet again. This place has been in business for decades. There is a reason for it. The food was good then. Forty years after first experiencing The Settlement, the food is still great.

The food was good. But we felt like we were inconvenienceing them. They were very gruff with us throughout our visit. We had 6 people at our table and there were hardly anyone else in there. Food was good as always. Staff could work on its customer service. Bartender who initially served us walked past our empty drinks multiple times. We had to flag down the owner to get a second drink. This is not my first time having a problem with this bartender. I have gone there multiple times. She is good on getting you your first drink and then stops caring for anytime after that.
They still insist on being a cash only bar. I have no qualms with this. I do have a problem with them using a dial up connection for their ATM. Since COVID-19 started they have been increasing their sales of take out food. So they are constantly receiving phone calls for orders. My father had to try 6 separate on the ATM to get through. When he was finally finished the woman answering the phone and taking orders very rudely asked if he was finally done.
Very disappointing. If this wasn't my father's favorite place to go I would probably never go there again. I certainly won't be bringing any of my friends there even though I believe it is a staple of Green Bay.
