Stopped to get sandwiches and fries. Menu was limited as an outside auto event was going on. We ordered 2 different sandwiches. Meat was minimal, barely warm, dried out. At $14 a sandwich, we expected more. I ate 2 bites and was done. We were told food was cooked by a chef which i highly doubted. We complained repeatedly, yet no one came to talk to us. We wanted to order a beer, and were told all of the beer taps were out of order. Waitress was great. She said she was unable to communicate with anyone in the kitchen as no one spoke english. Inside looks like it is in need of a good cleaning. Bathrooms were nasty. Will NEVER return or recommend.

Very disappointed to have been treated so poorly. We have been coming for years and we’ll never go back. It was completely empty on a Friday night and horribly smokey from cooking the staff were doing for each other. We had drinks and were offered shots, which we did not ask for. When it was time to pay, the owner randomly plugged a bunch of drinks into the computer. The bill was gigantic and not accurate. When I tried to say we were overcharged he said he’d call the police on me. I had no problem with that and explained the police might but like that the bartender and his cook were wasted (cook/manager passed out in a chair nearby). I was just trying to make it right and was called the B word and told to leave and never come back. Rather than have a fair bill we paid nothing, hence the one star.

As a frequent Elkhart Lake visitor we were very disappointed by our recent experience here. The food was not warm enough and very over priced. The fish fry looked and tasted like frozen fish you'd buy. They have great cocktails but beware of the food!

The food that we got (hummus plate and salad) was really good! I was disappointed, though, that the online menu didn’t match the menu in restaurant. As a vegetarian, I was really counting on the mushroom flatbread being available and it was not so we skipped entrees and stuck to appetizers.

Good service, though, and they were running a 25 cent beer deal!

Great atmosphere, unfortunately we stood at the door for ten minutes before even being seated. We proceeded to wait for an additional twenty minutes without even being greeted before we finally gave up and left.

Review of The Social Restaurant:

My recent dining experience at The Social left much to be desired. Although the ambiance was pleasant and the waiter somewhat attentive, the overall service was frustratingly slow. Even the bartender seemed to struggle with making a simple drink, and the fact that it took so long despite the restaurant being nearly empty was puzzling.

The disappointment didn't end with the service. The appetizers were lackluster at best. The coconut shrimp had just a meager sprinkle of coconut flakes, barely adding any flavor to the dish. The ceviche, advertised to be filled with a variety of flavors, turned out to be nothing more than giant clumps of shrimp dominating the plate.

Moving on to the main courses, unfortunately, the problems persisted. The trout lacked any discernible flavor, making it a forgettable and uninspiring dish. The steak and potatoes were a huge letdown as well; it seemed as if they had been soaked in a salt mine, making them nearly inedible.

Amidst all the disappointment, there was one saving grace - the skillet cookie. It was the only dish that managed to impress, with its rich and gooey goodness, providing a satisfying end to an otherwise underwhelming meal.

In summary, The Social fell short of expectations. Slow service, lackluster appetizers, and distasteful main courses make it difficult for me to recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly. Perhaps they have potential, but for now, they need to work on improving their menu and kitchen efficiency to truly live up to their name.

We stopped in for a few cocktails and to watch the Packer game. The bartender had called in, however the rest of the staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. What an amazing little gem hidden in Elkhart! A fireplace, jukebox, pool table, gaming machines, outdoor seating, beautiful views, this place has a little bit of everything for everyone. Will definitely be stopping back again sometime soon!

I was here for a wedding this past weekend and don't get me wrong, this room is pretty with a beautiful view on the lake, but we definitely ran into some issues. The room was very humid as they only had a window AC unit. According to a worker I overheard, their air system does not work. Our salad was put on the tables uncovered almost 2 hours before we were supposed to eat and the lettuce was wilted and slimy by that time. They served our dinner early which was lukewarm. We couldn't play pool due to missing balls. The jukebox was not set up ahead of time, so we spent awhile trying to get it working. Despite the issues we had, our bartender, Alisa (I'm sorry if I spelt your name wrong), was very nice and and made our night more enjoyable!! :)

We were there for a wedding this weekend and while the brides did a GORGEOUS job, the service was a bit subpar, ie. Dinner started early and the food was lukewarm at best, salads were set out an hour early and we mushy by the time we sat down and the owners left early, which is unfortunate for their big day. It’s no secret though, that the bartender, Alisa absolutely made our night!! She was fantastic and a breath of fresh air making our evening highly enjoyable, even when I called her by the wrong name more than once *facepalm* THANK YOU ALISA!!!

Horrible Experience. The Old Fashioned cocktails we ordered were very average. Not sure if there was anyone working there that was old enough to even make a drink. The ahi tuna wontons were so over soy sauced and over seasoned that they were hard to eat. Not to mention the totally average entrees and the one entree that gave me food poisoning. I was up all night with violent sickness for about 10-12 hours and it ruined my entire vacation. Do not order the chicken Marsala gnocchi. It tasted bad by my first forkful and I didn’t touch the rest of it. I’m so happy I didn’t eat the whole thing because I’d probably be in the hospital. Would not recommend. Bad service and worse food 🤮
