One of the best restaurants in Rice Lake. I had the Widowmaker Burger with a side of Mac and Cheese and Waffle Fries. My wife had Mac and Cheese with Steak Bites. The burger was fantastic. And I took the waffle fries home. My wife couldn’t finish her Mac and Cheese and brought the rest home. The Mac and Cheese was also very good. Our waitress was very attentive and positive. What a great way to spend my wife’s Birthday! Definitely recommend to everyone. Keep up the great food and service!

Food was amazing!! We sat at the bar. Our server/bartender was under the influence of something (?) and forgot to put in half our order. At one point, she forgot we even ordered. The woman next to us had to ask for her drink three times before she remembered to get it for her. A different guy down the bar also had his order never put in. Hopefully just an off night for her. A different waitress helped me get my food and it did eventually come after my husband was done with his meal. Frustrating experience.

Food was really good. I enjoyed the variety of burgers, salads, mac n cheeses options. The waffle fries were seasoned like Arby's curly fries :) yum. My husband really enjoyed the dill ranch and the Mac N Cheese. The noodles were creamy and not over cooked.

My only negative. The pickles. They were bread and butter ones (sweet) and I couldn't eat them - They were tough. Like eating an over ripened summer squash. Sad day for pickle lovers.

We made a random stop her while on vacation at Stout's Island. This place has forever ruined birria tacos for me, not because they were bad, but because they were AMAZING! Every single attempt at achieving the same deliciousness elsewhere (even authentic Mexican restaurants) has been an epic failure. Our entire group enjoyed their meals, the atmosphere was great for just hanging out and relaxing (even with 2 young kids). Drink selections were also top notch. Went with my wife and my In-laws for dinner. Got wonderful service from our server Natalia. My wife had the Chispy Chicken Sandwich, my father-in-law had the Shrimp Po’Boy and they both raved about them. My mother-in-law and I had specials her the Seafood Pasta which had a good amount of seafood in it including whole shrimp, whole scallops and big chunks of lobster. I had the Steak & Frites which was one of the most tender ribeyes I’ve had in a restaurant in awhile cooked to a perfect mid rare with a delicious char on the outside combined with a Demi glaze and a delicious cowboy butter. Never a disappointing meal at The Social House.

we wait more than 5 mins until 3 more orders arrive. One of those was only a part of the order. Now we wait a good TEN minutes for the next 3 orders to arrive. The part order has not come yet! Finally it comes some 5 minutes later. THEIR COOK DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO HOW TO PUT TOGETHER A LARGE ORDER! That ruins your experience. Server was no help. I had high hopes for the SH but was disappointed! Hair in food, no apologies(3?) . An offer to remake was made but everyone else had their food and the original wait was long enough and they left the offensive food sit there!. We were all driving distances and ordered non-alcoholic drinks, again no check back for refills. I’m betting alcoholic beverages were kept full! The neighboring table offered to be witness to our guests pulling out the hair. The laughter was polite conversation about an awkward situation. I refused the remake of the meal only because the others at our table were already eating and I didn’t want them held up, needlessly. The proper way to address would have been to allow me to transfer fries to a secondary plate and remove the offensive meal altogether. You’re correct in that communication between our table was non-existent with our waitress, as was offers of refills on drinks. Once the situation was brought to the staffs attention, we were pretty much ignored, until we asked for the bill.
Maybe you can post that video of our guests pulling out the hair for everyone too!

2nd time being here, I finally got my Lobster Roll today with Sweet Potato Tots and once again ordered the truffle Fries, I took a lot home with me but only because it was a work lunch and I didn't want to over fill for the day!

Have had other better experiences here but this last time my family and I were there it wasn't the best. It took quite a while for our server to take our order despite there being a total of 5 servers present. Nevertheless, she was kind and had a good attitude. The food wasn't the best either though unfortunately. It took a little while to come out and the pulled pork was so greasy it disintegrated the bottom bun on the sandwich and I found quite a few fish spines in my fish tacos. Took 30 min sitting at table before getting asked what we would like for a drink. When food came it was cold, we received fried fish instead of broiled. Server didn’t have correct items on ours and other couple bills that we were with. Now looking at our credit card we have been charged for both OUR bill AND the other couples bill. I called the Social House and spoke to mgr Sharon and she said “people make mistakes.. just ask your friends for the money”. NO that’s not the point I should not have to ask my friends for money when the server made the error! Then the mgr Sharon put another male person on the phone who was very rude and said they were not doing anything about this and hung up on me! Worst customer service I have ever seen in this area! We use to go here regularly and will not ever step foot in here again.. Others beware! THIS IS A REPLY TO THE MANAGER’S VERY RUDE RESPONSE.
As you can see from other reviews, this is not the first time someone has received a rude reply from management. Normally, I wouldn’t waste my time, but getting such a disrespectful response filled with false information is completely unacceptable — especially from a restaurant/business owner.
I was calm and respectful until Sharon told me I should ask our friends for the money, which is inappropriate. She also said, “We don’t need to talk about the food,” dismissing valid concerns about our experience.
She also mentioned the server is no longer there — but that’s not our fault. The real issue is that my credit card was charged for two separate parties, and I just saw this on my bank statement, which is why I followed up 28 days later.
If you’re relying on camera footage, it’s clear no one even checked what time we were there or where we sat. No effort was made to look at the actual receipt before dismissing the concern.
To be clear — I wasn’t asking for a full refund for the food, only for the duplicate charge that should never have been put on my card in the first place!

I’ve been to The Social House of Rice Lake
FOUR times, and each visit just cements this place as my Reuben paradise. I’ve tried Reubens in eight different states, and nothing compares to the magic happening here.

The Guinness brown sugar kraut and dressing combo is pure genius, bringing out the rich, slow-cooked meat in a way that feels like a culinary masterpiece. This isn’t just a sandwich; it’s a religion, and I’m a devoted follower.

The Seashell Fries? Absolute crispy perfection. It’s like someone took the fluffiest clouds, made them golden and crunchy, and served them with a smile.

Speaking of smiles, the service here is top-notch. Rachel, my server, was friendly, quick, and made me feel like a regular even on my first visit. The atmosphere here is just so welcoming.

If you’re in the area and you miss out on The Reuben at The Social House, you’ve done yourself a disservice. I’ll be back for visit number five soon!

His sea food boil was to come with 1lb of crab and that was definitely not 1lb of crab, it was a small cluster that was missing a leg. And to respond to the owner who responded to my original review, we both asked the server if it was ‘1lb of crab’ before she went to put in the order and she said ‘yes, 1lb of grab.’ So no, we didn’t misunderstand the server, she was WRONG. But my sea food pasta was pretty good tasting but damn expensive for what it was, I’m pretty hard to please with food so I was happy with what I got if that says anything lol. My original review mentioned I’d come again, but since they responded with such rudeness, I definitely won’t be back. Be better. Learn how to respond to people who pay good money to eat there.

I wish I would have gotten to eat my sandwich. While holding my sandwich I was sprayed by cleaning solution. One of the servers was cleaning a table next to me and managed to soak my hand and sandwich in cleaning solution. I brought it to her attention and i received a very unapologetic, "Oh, sorry." Awesome place for family, friends, or just a date meal with your significant other. The food is absolutely delicious and comes out quick. The servers are super friendly and check back in. I had the Widowmaker Burger and waffle fries which was absolutely delicious. Super juicy Patty and the waffle fries are seasoned perfectly. The garlic aioli really was amazing and they're homemade pickles are sweet pickles, which I don't normally like but they were awesome. My wife got a shrimp Po boy sandwich and the truffle fries. Tons of flavor on the shrimp Po boy and the shrimp were big in size. The truffle fries are nice and crisp with tons of seasoning and flavor. We also ordered A regular order of cheese curds as an appetizer and the curds were awesome! This place is worth a drive if you're not nearby. However, if you are nearby, you're missing out. If you haven't been here. We will most definitely be back!

Plus, you can't go wrong with a Sprecher root beer! They do have beer and from what I could see looked to be delicious mixed beverages.

My wife and I have driven by here many times, but never stopped. Today we changed that, and it was the right decision. The food was incredible, to say the least. The menu was almost overwhelming in how many choices and varieties were available to us. The prices were reasonable, and with some items the prices were downright appetizing. Our bartender was on the spot, always ready with information, and just a lovely person to speak with. The beer selection was broad with a lot of craft brews, but with a healthy selection of the favorites too. 11 out of 10, would recommend. Will be going there again.

The atmosphere was cozy and warm with fun decorations. The menu itself looked delicious however when we finally received our food, it felt like the idea of deliciousness was there but that it was executed poorly. Perhaps an inexperienced chef? Waited an hour for our food. The restaurant wasn’t even full. Waitress said they had a bunch of call in orders (which I assume they put in front of us?). I ordered burger medium well, it came cold and bloody in the middle. I could not eat it. The asparagus didn’t seem cooked either.

The food is probably the best you could get in rice lake. Mondays special was a prime rib sandwich with a bacon jam, onions, and cheese. Well it was absolutely delicious! The bruschetta was also fantastic. Who ever does the cooking knows how to cook and knows the perfect combination to add so much flavor with it being to much or blending together. I ordered wings from them last week, garlic Parmesan and they were excellent also. I can’t wait to go back and try other things. Their menu has a large variety of food and every plate I saw brought out looked amazing. I would like to add they are priced very well for the quality of the food and the portions. I was actually quite surprised how low the bill was.

We were in town and decided upon reviews to check this place out. The menu is amazing, and everything sounded delicious it was hard to choose. We ended up splitting a full rack of ribs and HANDS DOWN best i ever had!! And We've traveled south, where they know their way around ribs & bbq! Perfectly cooked. Great dry rub. I was disappointed in the fact that there were no burgers sandwiches and other items just appetizers salad Weekly specials and their mac & cheese selection. She said they’ve already started it, but you can but will go back to the end of the line. During that time the bartender never asked if we wanted another drink, never apologized for not giving us the full menu . Best place in town for dishes using fresh beef, salad, herbs and cheese; they use local farmers & shops and you can 100% taste the difference compared to other restaurants.

If you want to eat at a peak day/time just have patience and you will be rewarded.

What have we had that we recommend: salads, seashore fries, burgers, tiger shrimp, bbq. Tiny negatives: one or two of the waitresses are glacier slow, acoustics and uncomfortable seating, and the lack of a full liquor license (water, soda, beer & wine only; for an adult beverage I hate beer and their wine is just okay, so mixed drinks are definitely a loss).

Definitely go there for the freshest food in town!

I came here alone for some drinks and actually enjoyed every part of it from the atmosphere, music, low priced drinks and service. My server Rachel did a wonderful job at making me want to come back. If u are coming for drinks but want to try something on the menu, I highly recommend the shrimp dumplings. New to this small town but found a hang out spot!

I ate at this restaurant for the first time tonight, I am a huge critic about food, I decided to try a few things just to get a base line on what I was going to expect each time.
Atmosphere was great, it was obviously crowded busy but I can see everyone is pleased and their just being their social selves.
Service was good, I say this because it's obvious they remain busy, I would rather see them stay busy rather than checking in with me every 5 minutes anyway.
Food. I had the Wisco burger, my roommate had the redneck BBQ and her son had the little piggies sandwich. We decided to split everything to try a little of everything we had in front of us. The meat was pink! But ultimately I expected that based on the menu and I figured if someone wanted no pink then they should order it that way specifically. The redneck BBQ was good, great flavor, however, iffy on the sauce only because it was different but I believe that's what gives it it's own uniqueness. Plus hear tell it was homemade. And again it was pink and that's fine.
Onion rings and fries were crispy.
The little piggie sandwich was dry tasting, so highly recommend marinating the meat or giving it it's own juicy, melt in your mouth rendition.
I will come here again during prime rib night for an overall score but this was great by itself.
I recommend you at least stop in here and try it for yourself.
I was here again as I said I would be, I had the queen cut prime rib with said mashed potatoes and asparagus...a little confusion though as that is not what I was served. It was finger link potato's with red peppers and brussel sprouts. The prime has great taste, my roommate ordered hers medium and I ordered mine well done and I only noticed mine was slightly tougher but looked the exact same.
Some mistakes today I noticed also but it was clear they were trying to correct it to the best that they could. Great job

We wanted to love this place…very nice waitress, good atmosphere and great location. However we waited too long for our drink refill and food. Our waitress took our orders and after quite a bit of waiting found her talking at the bar and ready to leave. When I asked another waitress about our order, the owner overhead the conversation and stated our waitress “is on crack.” How unprofessional and after reading other reviews, this is how he responds to others. Unfortunately due to poor service and this was not the first time this has happened, we will not be back. The couple next to us was completely forgotten as well. Three strikes…you’re out.

I will start by stating that the service we received was excellent and the atmosphere is one that would have brought me back for just a drink even though the food was not entirely what my standard would’ve been for the price point it was ($16 for a burger and side). So why the 1 star review? That is because of the snarky response to my husband’s review from what is noted to be the owner of the establishment. A poor sign of character in my opinion and I will never recommend a business that doesn’t handle minor criticism in an honest review in a professional manner.

First time here. Great beer selection. Tons of beers on tap. Great atmosphere. Great music playing at a reasonable volume. Good service at the bar. We ordered dinner, it looked great. I was disappointed with the food. It wasn’t bad. It was average at best. I was expecting better food for the price point. This was the first burger in my entire life I had to eat with a knife and fork because it was a complete mess right from the get go. Burger was pretty undercooked That wasn’t a problem for me, but certainly would be for many. Good place for drinks. I’d recommend eating at any of the other great tasting places around.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch. I was here several weeks ago and had the lobster BLT, and it was delicious. We were going to try the boneless wings, but when the server told us about the special, Shrimp, scallop, lobster pasta with mixed veggies, tossed in sun dried tomato cream sauce, we decided to go with that... It was fantastic! The shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection, and the sauce was exceptional! This wasn't a dish that was on their normal menu, but I told them my opinion was it would be a game changer if it was. I'm hoping the next time I stop there I'll get able to enjoy this once again. They also have a great beer list and a very good wine list as well. The servers were very helpful and checked several times to make sure we had everything we needed. It'll definitely be worth your while to stop and try this gem in the North woods!

The food, (love the PICKLES too) service and overall is amazing!
It is always packed when we have been there. Try to get a reservation if you can or just know it is %100 worth the wait. Just don't go when you are "Hangery" like my husband was last night lol. To be super transparent we were there 2 hours and half that time was waiting on our food. BUT we were there right at 6pm, probably their busiest time.. It's a small kitchen and a very busy place. They could double the size of their establishment and still have full seating I'm sure. Just be aware of wait times and bring something to keep you busy, coloring books for the kids etc. Or talk to each other 😉
I only rated the atmosphere 4 instead of 5 because I'm oldschool and don't like the t.v screens everywhere but it's the intended vibe I'm sure. Will need to make this place a more frequent date night stop.
P.s I wish we would have gotten our waitress name but she was fantastic! Can't wait to go back!

My son and I stopped in for our first and certainly not last visit. He got the burger ( a huge burger & he shared some with me) with seashore fries. I went with the ribs. (I shared some with him) The ribs were tender and not overcooked. (A good portion too!) They came 'dry' and BBQ sauce was provided so you could sauce em up to your liking! The ribs came with 'cheesy' mac n' cheese, beans, and coleslaw. Friendly service and comfortable atmosphere. I'll be bringing my wife for a night out and the drive from Eau Claire will be worth it! One of my new favorite places!

The waitress was very pushy. It was our first time going there and it was highly recommended because of the food. (Which we told her we hadn't been there before.) So, we needed time to look over the menu. We ordered two apps and they didn't come out hot. Burgers were very good though. First time, won’t be my last time. Service is great and friendly. I went with the Tri-Tip Salad and Seashore Fries. Highly recommend! The fries are like thin steak fries. A great invention. Steak was cooked perfect. The highlight for me was the pecans. I almost asked for it without them, but they ended up being a fantastic surprise of flavor and really completed the salad.

First time there on a recent vacation in Rice Lake. The service was quite good. The pricing was reasonable. I had their cheese curd triple sampler, they were all very good. Had cheddar, garlic and I believe it was Sriracha. Highly recommended! I also had the Wisco Burger. It was ok, far from the best burger ever. It lacked in the seasoning department a bit. It was cooked well though, if not a tad overdone for my liking. All in all it was a good first experience and I'd go back to try again.

Went for a date night with my wife when we were in town. This place was great. Taylor was our server and provided great service. We weren't sure what we wanted to drink so she gave us a couple samples of beers we were interested in.

We ended up splitting a double order of wings for our appetizer. They were delicious. The mango habanero sauce was great and not too spicy. Personally I like it a little spicier, but it was great. The other flavor we got was maple bourbon which was perfect.

For an entree we got the pickled goat burger. It sounded unique and was. We loved it. I haven't had a burger like it before. It was a great blend of a pickled flavor and crumbly goat cheese on a burger. The waffle fries that came with it were spot on.

Definitely will be returning!

First visit- very busy which is great to see. I had the Swiss/mushroom burger which was excellent. The flat fries were excellent. We had the curd flight for an app. Seemed a little expensive but they were excellent as well, will order again. Kids enjoyed their food as well. There was a little wait, nothing that shouldn’t be expected with a full house. Wait staff were excellent as well. They seemed to work as a team really well as far as working each others tables and such. BEER: hope not to offend any of my bar owner friends locally but it was the cleanest tap beer I’ve drank in a long time. You can just tell when the lines are clean. (Yeah yeah yeah, I’m picky when it comes to tap beer)
I’ve heard rumors about it being expensive. When the four of us go out it’s always between $70-$100 range. 3 entrees, two apps, a beer and 3-4 sodas. You will spend the same for much less quality food in the area in my opinion. Again, not that there isn’t others that serve good quality food!

I bought a certificate off the radio station and I acknowledged it was past date (7 days) and asked if they would honor it.
Server went and consulted with someone and came back and said no since it's expired. Noone came to talk to me about it or ask why. I have been out of town as my father was deathly ill. They still get their money for their advertisement but I am out mine. It was only $20 I would have spent more than the cost of certificate that visit plus they lost my future visits. These are certificate that are paid for in replace of the service of advertisement. Poor customer service as far as I am concerned.
