Was looking for a sandwich place in the Hales Corners area and found the Soup Market. The menu was simple. Cold sandwiches were kept in the cooler; hot sandwiches made on demand. I ordered a Reuben and chili while my daughter picked out a cold ham and cheese and chicken noodle soup. Soups are available in many sizes and you get free bread with16 oz + sizes. My daughter’s plan was to eat the sandwich and half the soup with leftovers for another meal.
The restaurant itself was no frills dining. The individual working was quite pleasant. The only thing I would caution someone on is the price. A Reuben, ham and cheese sandwich, 8 oz soup and 16 oz soup cost $35.

Good soup options. Got the chicken and dumpling and cheddar broccoli soup and a turkey sandwich with the chocolate rice crispy treat and the oreo rice crispy treat. Everything tasted great

We got a quart of chicken dumpling soup which had no chicken and was almost all broth. Also got a quart of hot dog chili which was just ok. We give the chili one star and the chicken dumpling one star. The bread however was very good. All together we paid almost $50. Feel like we got ripped off. This was the second time we were there. First time was so so and we thought we would give it another try. Definitely not worth the money. Very overpriced for soup that’s not even as good as canned soup. I’d rather buy a can of progresso soup.

The chicken dumpling soup was okay, but not worth the price ($18/qt). As others have mentioned, the chicken has a weird processed texture like it came from a can.

We have only gotten take out, but everything has been delicious! Loved the chicken noodle, tomato bisque, potato chowder… those have all been delicious. My husband who adds hot sauce to everything actually couldn’t handle the 5 Alarm chili, so maybe avoid that or order with caution!! The rice crispy treats are the best I have ever had! This is on our Milwaukee “where to eat” regular routine now, especially with winter coming! Everything tastes homemade and they couldn’t be nicer.

I haven’t been here since they moved locations and I thought I would give it a try. Very disappointed in the food and price. Paid $18.99 for a bowl of chicken and dumplings with a tuna melt. The tuna tasted fishy and the soup was very bland and the side of bread was stale. On top of that the price that I paid for lunch was ridiculous. The lady that waited on me was fantastic and very nice. I’m all about supporting small businesses, you need to do better!

Tried this location for the first time today. The chicken dumpling soup was nothing special, the chicken salad sandwich was amazing (as always), and the Reuban was just okay (there was definitely some questionable pieces of meat in there; they need to cut their meat a consistent and thinner size.) When I walked in to pick up my order, I wasn't greeted and when I said I was there to pick up an order, the woman just pointed to my bag. I won't make an effort to come back here. I will be shocked if this location survives another year.

Wish I could give it less than a one star. Totally outrageous prices for mediocre or even less soups. Save your money and make your own cuz it'll taste a lot better!!

Grilled sandwich was overcooked, almost burnt, tuna very salty. Got the only slice of carrot cake - icing was not crème cheese and cake was dry. Place was messy and unorganized looking, could use a thorough cleaning. Service was top notch, though…but not enough to go back for.

Was in for the first time on 1/2/24. One person running the store so I had to wait to place my order and to receive it. Paid over $20 for an average sandwich and a very below average cup of chicken dumpling. Overall not impressed, and no reason this place needs to charge that much for such average quality.

Quart of soup aka broth…. The meat seems to be an imitation chicken you can get in a Campbell soup…the employee mixed 3 different items to make chicken dumplings which seemed like chicken noodle, but again more than half of the quart was broth. 2 packs of oyster crackers, that’s it? The cost I should have gotten a little more. No salads available nor were there any sandwiches. Misleading menu….. this place has definitely lost its touch. I use to rave about this place. Very unfortunate.

Tried for the first time on 1/11/23 was not impressed. Let's start with 32 dollars for two quarts of soup both children ridiculous. I was asked if I wanted crackers as I'm looking at loaves of bread on the counter I ask what about bread and told it is free with a cup of soup but 1.49 a piece with the quarts. So 32 dollars for soup and the bread costs extra. The soup was average at best. I won't be back.

My only gripe is that they pre-program an auto gratuity on the signing screen of the credit card machine that you literally have to decline (by clicking "no tip") right in front of your cashier if you don't want to tip her 15% to 30% for scooping you out soup. I mean, she scooped my soup.

Soup is good...varieties I've tried. Love African peanut w/chicken. However, they are way over priced. Can get a bowl of good soup at many other places for half the cost. Paying over $35 for a bowl of soup for a family of four is ridiculous. (I also can't forget the attitude and behavior of owner/management on a nationally aired program. Major turn off.)

Today was my first visit to the Soup Market . I found the place to be very clean with quite a few choices of soup. I chose a bowl of pea soup and it was delicious. It came with my choice of a large piece of either wheat or white bread. Many extras are available as add on to purchase , salads, sandwiches and even a very large cookie. I was very satisfied with my choice and give this place a 10 out of 10! I'll be back! !!

Has many great options of soup and if you love soup and love to switch it up, it's great!. If you are looking for a quick grab with some sitting this is a great place to go. But if you want a place to sit and socialize in a cozy chair, this is not the place to go, Panera would be a better option for you. Employee was super sweet and offered samples also nice because it is somewhat of a local business in the Milwaukee area and not a commercial chain.

I feel bad for them because they make a pretty good soup and fresh bread but their decor is really shabby. I know they are going through a revamping process so, I wish the well. I recommend getting your favorite soup to go so you don't have to stay in there too long. They offer samples at least so you can taste them and then decide. I liked the split pea and ham. Their Broccoli chicken cheddar was a bit heavy on the broccoli and too light on the cheddar. The chicken was barely noticeable and kind of unnecessary. The BBQ pork chili wasn't bad. Sweet and spicy with a bit too much stewed tomato. Best to just try it if you're in the mood for hot soup on a cool cloudy day

Wish I could give a 5-star, but I can't. I assume the lady working, by herself, was the owner and she had no help. The taste of the chicken dumpling was okay, however mostly all dumpling and not much chicken. I paid over $17 for a Reuben and a quart of soup.

There was a man waiting in line who had to wait to be served because the lady was hard at work preparing my order and didn't really have a choice other than make him wait. Might be best to get a teen working to help out around the place. I went on a Saturday, so maybe its just less busy then.

Dave, the owner, clearly has no problem taking advantage of people. A woman under his employ, or a business partner with the vision and capacity to improve and move The Soup Market into a new, bold, and profitable business. I wish Marcus had gone in at 51% and wiped the floor with Dave when everything came to light at the end.

This location could use a good refresher course in customer service.
Let me start by saying this was definitely not our first visit to this location, but it could very well be our last.
My husband picked up 2 quarts of soup (to go) late in the morning, and when I poured them into pans to reheat them for dinner the Tailgate Soup was abysmal.
If you check their description, it should be Beer Cheese Soup with chunks of bratwurst in it. Well, let me tell you . . . the beer cheese soup was a gloppy mess because it had already broken, which tells me it had been reheated - by them - at too high a temperature. I hadn't even turned the heat on under my saucepan yet! But even more disappointing was that there were 2, counted 'em twice to make sure and still only needed the fingers on one hand, 2 small pieces of bratwurst in the whole quart!!
So I called to lodge a complaint and was told that they just ladle the stuff, they don't count how many pieces of the ingredients end up in a container. Some people get more, some get less. No apologies were offered. Just an excuse and basically I was told, that's your hard luck.
Their price for a quart of cheese soup turns out to be $11.50 plus tax. Ok, I guess the 50 cents was for the two 3/4 inch long bratwurst chunks, so $11 for cheese soup. In Wisconsin!!! America's dairyland!!
Sad...so sad.
