This restaurant reminds me of old school supper club when Al plays. It's dim lighting sets a nice atmosphere. We love the prime rib, it has been consistently good for us. The mushrooms are delicious. Love the hashbrowns..servers are friendly. Only downfall I feel is every mixed drink I've had, hasn't been all that great. The chef is very friendly. He talks to the customers and he's pretty funny. It's nice also that you can see them cooking your steak. I have recommended this restaurant to family and friends.

Have been coming here for many years and have enjoyed the atmosphere until going on a Monday night. Wow. Nothing great here. Ordered a 7oz filet, as I have many times. And steak came out raw in the middle. I sent it back and somehow the waitress had the gall to tell me the definition of all the steak temps, “for my future reference”. I have been ordering medium rare filet for 20 years. And this was raw inside. When it returned it had been basted in a ton of butter and clearly thrown in the microwave. Won’t be returning.

Stop calling yourself a steakhouse if you are going to serve bad quality boxed mashed potatoes as one of your sides that you charge for separately. I took one bite. I told our waitress about it. Nothing happened after. At least say that I let the manager or owner know , and they said whatever. Nothing. I'm sure I'm not the first one who said something. If you don't want to make mashed potatoes, just take it off your menu. My lobster had no flavor and both the lobster and butter were cold. I did not say a word about those. In did not n take my "leftovers" home. Several of the steaks were lacking seasoning and flavor. Basic flavors. We were a large party , average couples, we paid in full for all items and tipped our waitress more then 20% in cash. We just wanted to have a good meal, since we had people from out of town with us. Well, welcome to the area, this was a huge fail.

This is an old school supper club with such a great atmosphere and wonderful people! The Steakout was so accommodating with all of our requests!! Whoever was working tonight 8 8 25 was on there phone more then cooking the steak one side was burnt other barely touched. Was constantly touching his phone and face then moving to cooking without washing hands. I've worked in kitchens before and they always say wash your hands when your done doing anything. Won't come back since the resturant seems to not train cooks to keep there hands clean. Atleast FOH was offering to not put the steak on the bill. Still payed since I figure I can make something out of the non burned portion.

This restaurant is a must go! It is a bit dim in there, but the food is phenomenal! We spoke with the owner who was super friendly and his son was the one who cooked the steak (soooo good and perfect). If we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely be back to eat here!!

I ordered the filet mignon. It was ok, not seared very well. We had a party of 9, all split couple checks, and they added on automatic gratuity.. I absolutely hate places that do that.. Everything is wrong in this place the amount they are charging for this crap is absurd. Absolute waste of money. Steak was over cooked with bunch of oil in the plate. Taste was bad couldn’t even finish 1/4 of it and had to tell them just take it away and bring out the check. They didn’t even care that guests are unhappy or not.

To be far neither of us got a steak. My girlfriends ribs were mid at best. Bbq sauce dominated and masked the dished. She wasn't impressed with the lobster. Said it was tasteless. Now that I feel better the pork chops were awful. All fat and undercooked. The mashed potatoes had to be instant. Cold and wet tasting. Salad and soda were alright. Pitch black in there. Entertainment was good but between jail house food and prices, there are far better choices out there. The individuals who sit you have a smug attitude.

One of the few "supper clubs" around. Enjoy a perfect dinner. Watch the chef prepare your steak to perfection on an open-flame grill from any of the cozy tables. Authentic relish tray and generous bread basket are included with your meal. I usually enjoy a ribeye steak, but when I go to the Steakout I highly recommend the filet mignon (medium-rare).

Haven't been to Steakout for decades. Went tonight impromptu . Great, great waitress Anita. Fast , and very accomadating. Companions had ribs ( said good not great) another had pork chops he loved. I had pan fried walleye which was delicious. Baked potatoes yummy. Salad good. Broccoli a bit cold. But overall experience more than expected. Old school super club place. Very enjoyable and a pleasant surprise. Companions had steaks previously and enjoyed. Will be back.

Porterhouse was too thin. The NY side was fatty. Scallops were flavorless as though they had been just grilled in olive oil with no salt or pepper. They should be sautéed in chef’s choice of additions like garlic or shallots. They came in four served with melted butter. There were standard size. They were $26. The bourbon Old Fashioned was perfect. Waitstaff and greeter were great.

It was a weeknight and very slow, service was awful, I never had anything to drink. My baked potato was absolutely days old and burnt, my shrimp was slightly warm and that is a stretch. My daughter's scallops were over cooked. I was very excited to go there because it has been a couple years. But for the price it was not worth it at all. Even if it wasn't as expensive as it was, it wasn't good. I am sorry because this is my hometown and I love Greendale. But their are much better places very close.

We came in on a Thursday for my mom's birthday. We arrived 10 minutes early, but the host kindly seated us. We were a party of 4. The table which we were seated was against the wall and not comfortable for conversation. Our waiter was ok. He seemed rushed and wasn't not terribly attentive. We ordered cocktails and when he put them in front of us, he spilled some on us. My mom ordered the ribeye. She said it was good, but seemed thin. Two of us ordered the ribs which were tender but over charred and very salty. The sc and onion fries had no flavor. My pre-dinner salad was swimming in dressing. When it came time for dessert, my mom was given the option of a dessert on the house, but only if she ordered the carrot cake, which she can't have. Not sure why it's a problem to comp any of the other two dessert options for a birthday, when we're dropping $250 on a meal. Tacky. The walls were dirty and in need of paint. We were not offered a coat check. These are all basic touches you'd expect from a steakhouse that charges $60 for a ribeye. We won't be back.

Called 3 weeks ahead to make reservations for a birthday meal for my husband and me. Hostess Anita put us at a lousy table just inside the door. There was a nicer table available, but it was set for 4 and our reservation was just for the two of us. The chairs were past their prime and uncomfortable. The napkins were wet and extremely, unfavorably fragranced.
FYI - a few minutes later, Anita sat a different couple at the nicer table. Just the two of them.
We decided to relax and enjoy ourselves anyway and had a very nice waitress - Hanna.
We ordered iced tea; it tasted awful.
For our meal we both ordered the large filet, with salads and potatoes. We also ordered an additional side of grilled asparagus.
Both filets were sinewy, tough, and had extra gristle. Cooked correctly, but the meat was completely subpar.
We had most of our food boxed as leftovers. So disappointed.
We used to go frequently, but apparently their costs have forced them to serve lower quality food, so we are unlikely to be back any time soon.

Dinning room is intimate. The bar is separated by a small short wall so the noise level could get loud at times. Saturday night you have Al Green playing in the bar. They don't push the food at you so you can relax and enjoy your meal. Food was every well done.

We went here for an anniversary dinner with another couple. Of the 4 steaks ordered, 2 were overcooked. A NY strip ordered mid was well done and a Ribeye ordered mid-rare was mid-well at best almost well done. The "chef" cooking steaks was right next to our table and it was evident he wasn't happy. The re-fired ribeye was unseasoned (zero salt/pepper) and he tossed the plate to the server without turning around. Steaks were sitting in water/butter likely from the mushrooms. His inappropriate approach is what prompted this review. The server handled things with grace.
Service more than made up for the evening.
The environment is very dated and dark.
After spending ~$300 for 4 people, I would not return nor recommend.

We Had a gift certificate so we went there fir our 44th wedding anniversary. We were seated promptly as we had a reservation. It was downhill from there. The couple the table next to us were arguing. My wife ordered a beef tenderloin medium rare. It was cooked correctly but it was very chewed. I ordered the bone in New York Strip medium rare. It was between medium and medium well and was served in a plate full of meat juice. It was not in any way tender. We were charged extra for Bleu cheese dressing and for green beans. I notified the server about the steak but I didn't ask to get a different one. Each meal was $48. I do not recommend thuis restaurant and of course I will never return.

My husband and I visited as we had a gift certificate.
We were so excited as this was our first date night out since having our daughter.
Our table was right in front of where they make the food so we were able to watch EVERYTHING that happened.
The Sous Chef and Chef (Bob or Bobby, I heard both), proceeded to touch raw meat and then other items right after without washing their hands. The Sous Chef had gloves on, and was unwrapping the individually wrapped meats to hand them to the Chef to make. The Chef did not have gloves on and grabbed the raw meat to put on the cutting board, season it and throw it on the grill. Then the Chef proceeded to turn around, pick up multiple baked potatoes and cut into them and took his bare hands and fluffed the potatoes. THEN dressed multiple plates with lettuce with his bare hands. All after touching raw meat.
Then the Sous Chef proceeded to use the same gloved hands to do the following: touch his phone, touch the counter and wipe up a spill on the floor. No his gloves were not changed out.
I’ve never felt so disgusted in my life. I only ate my steak as it was cooked.
I will NEVER go back. I felt terrified to say anything at the restaurant because I didn’t want to make a scene.
But our server Brandy was amazing 😊

On my first visit, I had lunch with five others who are regulars. I see why. The food is delicious and the service is efficient and friendly. My only criticism is the lack of beer on tap.

Very disappointing from the moment we walked in the door (5 minutes early for our reservation). The hostess told me our friends better show up on time because she had other reservations coming (she was not very nice). We were seated at our table and the bus person promptly spilled ice water resulting in the table needing new linens. Our server was a very nice gentleman and he did a good job. The salads were warm and wilted and rather small. My baked potato was still hard in the middle and my husbands steak was very tough. This is not an inexpensive restaurant and for the money I expected more. Apparently we did not eat fast enough because the hostess started circling our table and actually came by our table and grabbed the butter dish. An unnecessary move, but she was conveying the message that she wanted us to leave. We had not spent an excessive amount of time at our table. We got the message and left, but we will not go back. Way over priced!

Disappointed. 2nd time here. Had family in for the weekend who wanted a good steak. We had a good experience about a year ago so we went back. Made reservations at 7 and got there early. Checked in with the hostess and sat at a table in the lounge. The server got our drinks and said to settle with her unless she would be our server in the dining room. We never saw her again. Nobody came back to check on us so about 7:15 we checked back in with the hostess and got seated. We all had steaks, my wife's (Med rare) order was very rare, mine was cooked ok, but very grainy as was hers. It took 15 minutes to find our waiter to give hers some more fire. Our guests ribeye was also sub par. For the price, I expected better quality. The service was weak at best.

Was extremely disappointed in this restaurant, probably one of the worst steak houses I've eaten at in thirty years. Came for a family celebration and the waitress couldn't have cared less. We order shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and only THREE came on a small glass with a small amount of cocktail sauce for $22 and it wasn't even good, stringy and tough!!
The biggest ripoff ever.
My wife's steak was okay for $50, but my $58 steak was filled with fat until I reached the very middle. For those prices the meat should be perfect and served on a gold platter. Mashed potatoes were cold and for dessert they give you a super small tiramisu. It amounted to two bites for both of us. What a joke.
All that for $200 plus. I would have had a better meal at Culvers.

The drinks are outragisly expensive!!! I ordered a blind Russian. Smaller glass, vodka, kaluah, bailey's. $16.50!! It was in a small Manhattan glass filled with ice! We're chefs, so we appreciate good food, and it is, but come on. Thanks for letting me vent.

Just had one of the BEST ribeye steak dinners I can remember having in a very very long time. The steak was absolutely perfectly grilled and the presentation was really very nice. Thank you chief, nicely done! I LOVE THERE HASH BROWNS. The ASPEARIGUS side was good i only ate the tips (i love ASPEARIGUS) however they were much too large. Woody, chewy and grainy. I truly enjoy the atmosphere here and the staff are really quite good. They really make feel welcome and comfortable. Treat your self to the " STEAKOUT SUPPERCLUB" tell em the "FAT KID FROM MILTON" SENT YA! ENJOY.
Ps: I like the bread and relish tray,
alot. NICE TOUCH.

It's not a transportation of times past, but it's more a maintenance of what makes a great suppee club. From the fresh bread to the table to the crooner at the end of the bar singing his life's songs. My wife and I love it here and love to see it busy.

Superfine women behind bar and the reservation desk! This is the first class place!!! This is my go to place for fine food! I'll always take my first date here! I've never been disappointed! :-)

Update 10/26/23- this is my go-to place for good food and fun times! It's always the first date place for me because I know the food will be great and done correctly! It has a very fine women working there and they care about you! It's a class place on Fridays and Saturdays they have a singer that's just so much fun so come and see him! You won't be disappointed

Update 2/21/24 stopped in for French onion soup and was treated to one of the most beautiful woman I've ever seen behind a bar! This is the place to go for good food good fun beautiful bartenders

I have dined here several times and I used to recommend this place to others.-

I visited again today and for the second time in a row the service was lousy, cut of meat was sub par, and both steaks we ordered were improperly cooked. Last time I chalked this up to an isolated incident, but with it happening twice in a row I can only assume that this is the new norm.

Unfortunately I will not be returning.
