My wife and I visited on fish fry nite. Got their at 4PM and was greeted by happy people and seated right away. Our waitress arrived quickly and took our drink and meal orders. So far so good. Clam chowder came before drinks. When we finished our soups the drinks came. Odd. Clam chowder was thick and almost pasty. Couldn't taste any clams. Tasted more like potatoe soup. The drinks were made correctly and tasted good. Next came the fish dinners. 3 large fillets of battered cod. Tasted good if a tad salty. Caraway bread rolls were terriffic. Potatoe pancakes were two 4" patties of fried mash with a slightly sweet taste. Not the typical taste expected. We left 3 of the 4 patties on our plates. Waitress asked about the meal and we told her. At least service was good. But $78 is a lot for 2 mediocre meals.

Solid fours on this one. Not that they were necessarily bad things, but a few things could use tweaking. For the overall it WAS a positive experience.

The atmosphere is open and loud. It WAS a Friday night and Fish Fries in Wisconsin bring everybody out. There was a particularly loud party close to us that was eardrum piercing at times making it uncomfortable at times. I understand we're all out wanting to have a good time, but be respectful of other people. All solid surfaces meant no sound absorption to help soften the blow.

Our server was delightful. She was sweet and friendly, but unfortunately not trained on what's on the menu. I asked what kind of clam chowder they served and she was not even aware there were different types. I will give her credit for asking me the difference, so I gave her a little lesson at the table - they have New England by the way. This should be something ownership/management should be training their employees to know - OR printing right on the menu.

The food was good. One person had the Classic Fish Fry and said it was "alright." One had the Cod Tacos and said they were real good. I had the Blackened Chicken Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. The sandwich was a little spicier than expected but still good, although now that I'm looking at the menu description I see that mine was missing both the lettuce and tomato. That certainly would have added to the flavor profile. The Sweet Potato Fries are really good. They are cut larger than standard fries but not quite the size of steak fries. This really let you taste the actual potato, versus the skinny way most places cut them. We also split an order of Cuban Rolls. These are amazing. Great flavor and texture. Oh yea - I DID have a cup of Clam Chowder to start. It wasn't bad. Nothing fabulous, but definitely the start you want to your meal.

Food is always great, and surprisingly inexpensive for the quality. Their Wisconsin Spinach Dip is the best spinach dip I've ever had. And in the only event I almost had a bad experience (we ordered curbside pick up and they forgot an item) Chris called me before I even got home with the food, made the kinds of concessions you hope to get from other restaurants but never do, and turned a negative experience into a positive one. Couldn't ask for a better customer experience.

Stopped by for an early supper on Sunday. The bar was busy, restaurant was about 1/3 full (it was just before 5 so definitely an off peak time. The dining room has a lot of tables for the space so seating is a little tight. The decor is interesting and rustic, in a cool old building. Waitstaff was attentive without being intrusive, and was happy to give some suggestions since we hadn't eaten here before.

The Apple Old Fashioned was excellent, my "one cocktail is enough" wife said she could drink a pitcher of them and then lick out the glass. The Asian Chili Crisp Salad looked like something you'd get at a way more expensive restaurant, and was an interesting and delicious mix of flavors and textures. The Stillery Burger was very flavorful. The food is "big", so this isn't a place to be dainty, it's got good sized portions.

I'd definitely eat here again when I'm in the area.

The Stillery in Richfield is a fantastic little find! Fantastic drinks, even better food. Pleasant, attentive staff. A cute little place just on the skirts of the burbs. With a little drive! The waitress we had was amazing. Very sweet and quick. If you want to have a conversation, it is going to be a little tough since it gets loud in the building. The food was just okay. The Stillery is listed as a distillery but it's perhaps should be considered a dispensary for whiskey?

Food and drinks were great! Grabbed a drink at the bar while we waited for our table, Beth greeted me promptly even though they were super busy. Our server, Nichole S, was great and she worked so much with my family to cater to our slower pace of dining. She talked to us as soon as we sat down but gave us some time to talk amongst ourselves and never made us feel rushed. She was also great with my 8 year old!

Family brought me home take out after dining there. They had a good experience and food so eating there seems worth it. However their take out was disgusting and they have no idea how to package food to go. I got the stacked bang bang Cobb salad. Mine had the pico de Gallo & avocado missing. More olives than lettuce & very little lettuce. Very, very undercooked bacon verging on raw & they put the salad dressing on it for some reason with foil to keep heat in for the shrimp which didn't work shrimp was cold. By the time I got it, it was a soggy, nasty mess! Very unappetizing. Learn how to package your food. Wrap the shrimp f cooked bacon in a smaller separate container with foil and all the correct salad ingredients in another with the dressing on the side! Pretty disappointing $16.
Edit: Added a star as the only edible but was the shrimp and it was tasty. Also for the company's response.

I came in this last Sunday at dinner time, because I heard some nice things. I was seated at the bar and had just finished up my meal when I accidentally spilled my diet coke. It was only a quarter full so it was mostly ice cubes. The young man who had taken my order and gave me my soda tossed a towel in front of me. I was caught off guard by this. I picked up my ice cubes and wiped up the small amount of spilled soda. I was embarrassed that I spilled my drink, but even more so that the staff member didn't offer to assist me. My girlfriend and I came in for a casual dinner on Wednesday, 10/02/24. This restaurant exceeded our expectations in so many ways!

Despite them being quite busy, we were seated right away. Our server Danielle was courteous, fun, and efficient! The food was quite affordable, freshly made with great ingredients, and done fast! Everything was delicious!

Excellent food for a great price! Stopped here randomly on our way back to Illinois (on a Wednesday). Bloody Mary's were great- you can tell they were actually made without a normal boring bar mix. We ordered the beer cheese dip with soft pretzels- delicious! One of the specials for Wednesday was their fish fry. Very happy with the Clam Chowder and fish fry. Our kids ordered a pizza and it was perfect- thin cracker crust with just the right amount of cheese/toppings. We also happened to dine during happy hour- B1G1 Old Fashioneds and $2 pints. Popped in for an impromptu date night on a Wednesday. Kind of in the middle of nowhere which is nice but don't be worried you went the wrong way.

Service was speedy, attentive, and very pleasant. Lots of food options all at reasonable prices and there's about 9 other things on the menu I want to go back and try. The rye roll with the fish fry was probably my favorite part. My only regret is not getting dessert because they looked and sounded amazing!

My only negative is inside was pretty loud so we opted to sit outside. Which was a nice idea in theory except the outdoors seating is next to the parking lot and the highway so it was pretty loud outside too. Lots of bugs too so maybe a few zappers or citronella candles would be good!
