This is my first time at the tipsy turtle. I was in town and very interested in a traditional Wisconsin fish fry. We went on Friday night and it was moderately busy. They are under renovation currently and it seems like the change to their physical area had upset the service a little bit. I could only see one woman that was waiting on all of the tables, and I think she was pushed to the limits of her bandwidth.

The fish fry was excellent. I had the three-piece cod with the beer batter and it was terrific. The breading was crispy and clung to the fish pretty well. I chose potato pancakes for my side. They were denser than they usually are, but the flavor was very good. I would give the coleslaw two thumbs up. Obvious that it’s their own, not something that’s pre-prepared and delicious. It also came with a slice of marble rye, which was also very good.

Despite the confusion in the dining room, our food came quicker than I had anticipated and everything was very good.

It looks like they’ve got a new patio area outside. If I had to do over again, I would’ve sat out there. It looked very nice. It would be a great spot to sit if the weather allowed.

New ownership has made some nice improvements. Food is great and service was friendly. Also a great place to host your fantasy football draft! They have a great food deal for your draft and a projector screen for your online draft board. Have held several drafts there and had a great experience everytime!

Went there after a golf outing with 6 people at 230 in the afternoon. One waitress working bar, tables and outside. She seemed flustered. Took awhile for drinks, food took even longer. 3 people ordered fish. Baked fish was ice cold, cold to the touch and dried out. Pancakes were overcooked and dry. Coleslaw was good. Fried fished looked better and more plentiful. After the poor service and poor food we will not be back. Too bad, nice location.

We used their banquet area for my husbands surprise birthday party. Michelle took care of us and Brian, the manager, helped as well. So friendly, so quick and efficient. We had multiple requests for this and that and they were so accommodating.
We had pizza and it was absolutely delicious! We ordered one of every kind they had and they were all amazing. A few others ordered different things off the menu and they also said it was all fantastic.
We can’t wait to go back!

This was my first time to Tipsy since it changed and honestly my last. The food was good and staff was kind. Between my friend and I, we spent quite a bit of money while there.

The reason for the 1 star- After a few ALCOHOL drinks, I asked for water. I was told they only SELL bottled water. Excuse me? What?

What if I really needed that water? What if I had nothing left on me because all I had was cash and I spent everything there that night or I ran out of money or possibly lost my card. You would deny someone WATER because they didn’t pay for it and thought they spent money prior to the request? It was clear that probably happened prior to me because there was a woman who was extremely intoxicated as she was over served. How do I know? Because she fell onto the floor near the slot machines because she couldn’t walk and 2-3 people had to help her get up and leave.

Your place had potential. I even paid a cover charge to enter that night. I won’t be returning. To me your nickel and diming your customers.

I was here for a band that I love called the lunch money bullies and it was a great time. There are two bars in the place. The smaller one is in the center of the bar and the larger one runs along the outside edge. There were two bartenders working and sometimes three. But it was still hard to get a drink. This is why I gave the service a three-star. The bar is located next to the boat launch for big muskego and also next to the gun club which I'm not sure is still an operation. It's called boxhorn gun club.

This is not my normal review as I generally want to help these business succeed but this is my honest opinion. Our food was excellent and priced right for what you got. There is no table service here so you have to go get everything yourself. I get it. Wait staff is hard to come by but then they should have a dedicated person that stays in the self service area. We had to wait for someone to even notice us and then when taking our order the bar manager stopped in the middle and talked to the bar staff about an issue. So rude. We live very close to this location and we really wanted to make this our "go to place" since it changed ownership. But every time I have been there the bar staff is rude and slow to respond to new customers that are not their regulars. If you don't want to have a corner tap customer base then don't have that mentality behind the bar.

August 9th. 5 people for dinner. 3 dinners were bad. 2 near burnt shrimp dinners and 1 BLT sandwich with a few strips of bacon and unripe tomato is not a $15.00 sandwich. horrible first experience there. While the venue and the music was great, we asked for a drink at the bar, and the one bartender was very irate to be doing her job. The bartender at the main bar was horrible to begin with …with eye rolling etc….. then we tried to close out our tab and then in the meantime, our friend asked for a beer with cash so we asked her to get him a beer and offer her cash with that … it put her over the edge into anger and started snapping it all of us…… when we challenged her about her attitude, she tried to get us kicked out of the venue by complaining to the security guard

however, the security guard was fantastic … He stated just stay away away from that side of the bar and you’ll be fine . when we walked out, we told the security guard who is still manning the door to have a good night, and he was great… No issues whatsoever I’m

. something tells me that the way the bartender acted … that this was not the first time that she was over the top and anytime she felt stressed and overwhelmed …She felt the need to turn it around on the customers.

and the sad thing about that is that I understand what it’s like to work as a bartender/server, and was all about to tip her very well until she started snapping out all of us

I stopped in here the other day for the first time since new ownership. Glad to see they kept Tom but it looks like they slapped a new coat of paint on the place and jacked up all of their prices. The owner was at the door collecting cash for a cover fee because they had some band playing. $15 for a bar burger and the drinks came in disposable plastic cups. This use to be our go to for cheap food and drinks but at that price point there are better options on the same lake.

Went just to see the band that was playing and had an amazing time. The atmosphere was great, as one side was for the live music and the other side was quieter for bar service. It was much busier than expected but the staff were working really hard to keep up - the bartender, Joy, was working by herself most of the night and still managed to serve everyone with a smile. She was so friendly, quick, and helpful and her excellent service was the highlight of our night. She deserves a huge shoutout as we were incredibly impressed with her especially given the volume of people!

Went to see a local popular band (band was amazing) but the service was so bad. Ordered a Friday fish fry, they said it would be 1.5 hour wait. So we said, that's fine. Finally after 2 hours, we asked about our fish and they said they ran out. And they only told us after waiting for 2 hours and after we had to ask. Horrible service. They didn't even give us a free appetizer or anything. I will not be going back.

First time guests here. Went out for our ritual fish fry tonight. Saw that they were understaffed as most places. We arrived 6:30. Parking was hard to find, but the weather was ok so we walked up from the gun club parking and sat at the bar. The visit started rough, because it took the bartender ½ hour to finally say hello, and said he would be with us soon. I saw a glimmer of friendliness as he finally acknowledged us to take our drink order, a beer and cocktail. He was so busy with others, but hardly made eye contact with us, or his other customers at the bar. He took another ½ hour to come back and take our fish dinner order. He was so busy, but just communicate with your customers while working? An hour wait, but we had our beverages and hope. A couple came in after us, sat at the bar next to us. About 20 minutes later, the bartender took both couples order. We nearly the same thing, a simple order 3 PC cod and fries. I'm great that he took our orders at the same time. We patiently waited. After the couple next to us got their dinners, I simply asked about our order. He seemed to forget about us and our order! ½ hour later, our food finally came out, and of course, without tartar sauce. So very disappointed with quality of the cod. 2 of 3 pcs were flat and chewy. So very dissappointed with the service. So much potential for the bartender to be kind, actively check in on us. It would've make up for the long wait and forgetting our dinner ticket. Go early and expect a very long wait, and maybe ... don't sit at the bar.

Ordered a burger with friends they received their food never got my burger . By the time it came after asking several times everyone was long done eating it came with burnt onion rings instead of the homemade chips I asked for and no raw onion even though I asked for one told homemade chips would be out never received them. The owner was rude, did not even refill a drink to our 1 person. Told him to go to the service station witch was only at the other end (like 6 feet from where he was) then the dumb owner served him.😡😡. We were at Tipsy Turtle for their Halloween bash. I have never been here before. The bartenders were working hard to cover many people and were keeping up. I didn't have to wait long. The drinks were good as well as the food. We ordered different appatizers for the table. Garlic cheese curds, Chinese dumplings, I think, tater tots, and fries. All of our food was very good even though they were busy. We were served fairly quickly as well.
The band was very good that evening. An added bonus was when two people at our table won the costume contest. Their prizes were generous, thank you.
The bar / restaurant is about 35 min from where I live, but I will have to come back for lunch or dinner.

I had a meeting at The Tipsy Turtle on Wednesday night. Our service was awesome. The server kept up on everyone's drinks and food, she was awesome!
As for the food, I did the bone in wings special, 12 wings for $10. They were amazing. You got a equal about of flats and drums and they were large! These were not little wings, these were big meaty wings. They were deep fried, then grilled to perfection! They had a number of wet and dry rub options for your liking too! Others in our group had the garlic cheese curds. Omg, they were so flavorful and delicious! Another in our group had boneless wings. They said they were so delicious.
I will for sure be back! I can't wait to try other options on the menu!
Personally, I give The Tipsy Turtle 2 thumbs up!!

I think this place is still learning how to operate, so I won't be too harsh.

On August 25, 2023, we waited 75 minutes for our food, and it wasn't even busy. I guess there was a mix-up, and our order was given to someone else. We weren't told this until after 45 minutes of waiting.

However, after we were told that, it took another 25 minutes to have our 2 fish frys finally arrive at the table.

1. Why did it take so long after the mix-up was discovered? Our order should have been the priority at that time.

2. Why didn't the owner or manager come over at all to apologize?

3. Why wasn't anything discounted or comped at the end?

I've worked in the food service industry before, and nothing about this was handled correctly.

The fish fry was decent, though, and I'd be willing to come back and give them another chance. But not for a while.

Ignore previous negative reviews! They opened just a few weeks ago and I think were still working out some "kinks" as they were switching over from AJ's. We've been going to AJ's (the previous name/owner) for years and we were excited and hoping the Tipsy Turtle would be good as well! It didn't disappoint! They've worked through things, and have more staff now. Food was good, great service and came quickly now and the atmosphere is great for a bar/sports theme! Lots of TV's!

We've been there 3 times now, twice on "Wednesday Wing night" and once for a Saturday BBQ menu for dinner! Both were amazing! The wings are delicious and they have a lot of flavor options/rubs! We had the BBQ sliders and they were good too!

Definitely give it a try! Can't wait to go back!
