This place truly deserves 5-stars. The Wagyu ribeye was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. My uncle had the Porterhouse, and he said the same thing.
I absolutely *loved* that our waitress was able to remember every type of salad dressing available without referencing a grease-covered tablet or asking us to read the menu for her. She even took our order with a pen and used mathematics to calculate the total (correctly). It was a welcome change to be so impressed by someone's memory.
We didn't stay at the hotel, but there are several comfortable sitting rooms in the restaurant area for waiting. I have to believe the rest of the hotel is just as great. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

One of my favorite places to go with amazing food, drinks and service. One of our salmon orders was a bit underdone. They took care of it immediately and adjusted the price. A wonderful super club that knows how to take care of their customers. Things happen and so many restaurants ignore those small mishaps. Not Union they take care of it and are great about it.

Awesome ambiance! Great service! Scallops were unique (lightly floured and sautΓ©ed) and cooked perfectly. However, our group of four (celebrating New Years Eve) thought the steaks and lobster ravioli lacked flavor and were way overpriced (the reasons for the rating of only 3 stars). Old fashioned were ok but not muddled.

Very Very Very Good Stake. As a matter of fact. All the food we had was super bomb food. Stake, red potatoes, hash browns, shrimp, and clam chowder soup. 12 out of 10. Very good staff. Highly recommend πŸ’―. You will not be disappointed. If you are, then something is wrong with you.

Always good, old-fashioned friendly service. Great food, especially the steaks. Perch (and tartar sauce) and twice-baked potato were very good. Sam (bartender) always makes a perfect highball. Jackie was the best waitress. This is a can't miss if you're visiting De Pere.

We also stop in here often for a drink after dinner, no matter where we eat.

We celebrated my husband's birthday and it was delicious!

The vibe is very speakeasy-ish mixed with a traditional supper club.

Sadly, there were no popovers or French onion soup, but they did have relish trays and Old Fashions.

The shrimp was great. It wasn't overly fried but enough to be crispy.

My husband liked his ribeye and dessert. I was too full to indulge.

We ended the night with a walk down by the river.

This town is really cute! We'd both like to come back and visit again.

I'll start by saying I have long been a dining customer and an advocate of the Union Hotel and have never had a bad experience; until tonight. The bar service was exemplary, as was the food, and our server Olivia was exceptional. The issue was being seated in a small room with a 14 top that was, to say the least, obnoxious. I won't belabor the point beyond saying it was surprising that the host would not have thought this through before sitting us. I want to give credit to the entire staff for recognizing the error in judgment and made amends by comping our bar tab and one of the entrees as compensation for their oversight. We will definitely go back largely, understanding this was only one of many dining experiences and to date they've all been positive and furthermore the staff at the Union Hotel has always been professional and accountable in every way. One bad night does not echo their approach to customer service and my fiance and I want to say thank you to everyone involved, especially our server Olivia, for doing what they could to make a wrong right. Much appreciated.

This place is incredible. Exceeded my high expectations from start to finish. The atmosphere was wonderful. Super authentic, classic historic β€œsupper club” feel. Service was excellent. This is one of the places we like to take our out of town friends to. A unique dining experience whether you are in the main dining area or the wonderful booths. Their steaks and baked goods alone are worth the trip. I thought my in laws would cry when we took them there. It is like stepping into a bygone era in a very nice way. There are private dining rooms upstairs for those that want to get away from everyone. Simple, tasty food and Always pleasant staff makes this a have to eating destination.

Amazing restaurant with great quality food. Recommend calling ahead to make a reservation. The atmosphere is wonderful and feels like you went back in time. The staff is very friendly and the service is exceptional. We really enjoyed the scallops, the pan fried walleye and the filet. Their homemade cherry pie for dessert was a hit as well. Everything was prepared perfectly. We can wait for our next visit.

Things started out well, with traditional Wisconsin supper club relish trays and rolls. But things deteriorated from there. My son ordered a sirloin steak, done medium; it arrived at the table as bloody as can be. We sent it back, and it came back in similar condition. It also was oddly shaped, like a tube; I'm no meat expert, but I've never seen a sirloin steak shaped like that. I ordered a ribeye steak for $43 and had had the same experience; it was rare even though I ordered it medium. Moreover, our french fries were limp and half cooked, not golden brown, and the portions were pretty skimpy. My wife's pork chops were pretty dry, too. Overall, a pretty mediocre meal for about $125 – definitely did not live up to expectations. The service, however, was pretty good, but that didn't make up for the sub-par food.

My only experience with the Union Hotel is the bar and restaurant. The bar is straight out of the 1930's or 40's. It's an intimate gathering place. A great place to meet with a few friends and enjoy a beer or cocktail and not be overwhelmed by noise. The restaurant has a timely elegance that has been preserved from years gone by. It is the quintessential Wisconsin Supper Club with relish trays on the table covered by white table cloths. The portions were generous. One of my friends had the Perch dinner and he got 4 butterfly filets. My NY Strip steak was delicious and cooked exactly as I wanted it. We had 6 people in our party and there wasn't a single complaint about the food. I will definitely be eating there again.

We went here for a nice night out and we got there just in time to take the last table. I would recommend getting a reservation. The hotel is a sight to see. The service was great. The waiter was attentive. They give you a nice veggie tray with cheese, liver, and chicken salad spreads along with a bread and cracker plate. I had the clam chowder and I loved every bite of it. I ordered the scallops and wow, they are my second favorite of all time. I couldn't believe how flavorful they were and how many you got. They did not skimp. My husband got the tenderloin tips and mushrooms, unfortunately the tenderloin was not very flavorful and a bit of a letdown. His mushrooms were very tasty on the other hand. Our drinks were well made. We finished the night off with a white dove ice cream drink that was the perfect size. Overall, this experience was very good and next time we both will be getting seafood.

Such a hidden gem! So unassuming on the outside, the Union is a gentle slip back in time. Interior design (and courteous staff) will charm you and allow your cares to slip away. I'm sure the food is good judging by the other reviews, but DO NOT stay at the hotel. This was the very worst hotel experience I've ever had. We didn't see anyone working during the entire stay. The heat didn't work half the night (in January... In Green Bay...) and when it decided to randomly turn back on in the middle of the night, the radiators were screaming loud. There are tripping hazards everywhere in the hotel. While it was clean, that was about the only nice thing about the stay. Pay the extra $$$ and stay somewhere else. This was cheap, and we found out why.

HI, Union Hotel & Restaurant is a "GREAT" place to eat at anytime. Tonight was a special occasion. We celebrated my husband's 75th Birthday. He enjoyed his mixed drink before supper in the Union's bar. A nice area for any type of drink & to relax before your meal. We ate in the smaller room with booths. I really like it's atmosphere. I feel like I've been transported back in time. Reminds me of my grandma's house. Nice & cozy == can carry on a quiet conversation. MENUS great!! Alot to choose from. Food was "EXCELLENT". Done to our liking. My husband had fish == I had a steak. Portions were good size == won't leave hungry. Would definitely go again & recommend to friends. Mary T.

What a wonderful surprise! We were gifted a gift certificate to this establishment and found out that all along we'd been walking and driving right past it! We called on a very windy Saturday at 4:30 to reserve a table that evening as a way to get us out of the house. To my surprise we were accommodated. The host greeted us in the entry and we enjoyed a drink at the bar while waiting for our table; old fashioneds were great. Then we were seated at a very cozy booth and waited on by an excellent server. We ordered the t-bone and ribeye steaks with a loaded potato, mushrooms, and scallops - excellent! Both steaks were cooked to our liking and the scallops were highly worth adding on. To top it all off our meal included a relish tray with amazing homemade croissants, spreads, veggies, and garlic toast and a side salad. We enjoyed the highly recommended strawberry schamb torte after and died and went to heaven. We will be back and getting gift certificates as Christmas gifts!

The food is always good I have been going here for years now. The steaks are delicious and throughout your meal they do not disappoint. Thier cheese cake is really good amoung the other dessert options.

Thier normally is not a long wait and the staff is very friendly. I'm not one to dress up just to go to dinner which is nice because even thoe other people are dressed nice I wear a sweatshirt and blue jeans without judgement etc. It is a bit pricey for some of the menue items. If you like mushrooms you definitely need to try them. They are really good as a side with your steak.

Beware that if your a group of 2 and paying with a drink or two it will be between 70- 100 dollars depending on drinks and tip.

Parking could be better but no complaints definitely worth trying ( Limited hours so check ahead )

The whole experience was truly one of a kind. We sat at the bar first and waited for our table. There the bartender was very good at his service. We met the owner and had some great conversations with the other guest there. The menu although small had some one of a kind dishes. Served with a relish tray and bread. The service provided by our server was personal and she looked out for the detail. I do recommend it although a bit pricy the experience was worth every penny.

Lovely old time elegant restaurant. Meal starts with the expected relish and cheese tray. Meal selections cover aged beef, great seafood, and well crafted cocktails.

Decor is clean and retro style. The decor is original. It is a great blast from the past with very good result.

Wonderful atmosphere, inviting and cozy. Friendly wait staff, great bar. My sweet pea ordered the scallops and they were superb. I had the pork chop with a side of the scallops and they were both perfectly cooked. Usually both items are almost always over cooked but this was not the case at the Union Hotel. This is not the place for a vegan, this is a steak, chop, and seafood lovers paradise. My only complaint, and it is a big one, is the table salt. A PLACE THIS GOOD SHOULD HAVE SEA SALT. Yes it matters.

Brought my wife here for date night. The dining room was small and crowded. Very difficult to hear because so many were packed in a small room. The meal was very over priced and mediocre at best. I had a T-bone and my wife had beef tips with mushrooms. My steak was cooked correctly but did not taste great. My wife's meal was many mushrooms and little steak. The saving grace was calamari. Very poor, expensive experience. Won't be back.

Stayed at the Union Hotel November 1st - 3rd of 1999. We left Kitchener, Ontario Canada on October 31st 1999 for our Honeymoon. Decided last minute to Go see The Green Bay Packers! We had no tickets, no Hotel reservations. We stayed in Sheboygan on October 31st since we got a late start heading to Green Bay. We got into Green Bay around Lunch time on Monday November 1st. Mission was to get tickets to the game. Which with some help from the Wonderful, Friendly People of Green Bay we were able to get! So step 1 accomplished! Then we needed to find somewhere to sleep after the game beside our car.. We called around with no luck. We decided to stop at a New Looking ( Still construction work being done) Motel. The rooms they had finished were fully booked just like every other Hotel/Motel in town especially since Da’ Bears were in town for Monday Night Football. Made especially important as it was the weekend Walter Payton passed away. The Wonderful Desk Clerk at the Brand New Motel we stopped at informed us that Every Motel/Hotel will be booked solid… Then she said β€œHold in a minute, let me make a phone call.” A few minutes later she told us That she had a friend at the Union Hotel and they had a room for us if we could get there quickly to get signed in. After giving us directions we Thanked her and headed to DePere and the Union Hotel. We got there and were immediately so Glad to see the Hotel. The character when you walk in, The Smell is still in my head.. We checked in and were given a brief history lesson as we were walked to our room. As we headed up the narrow stairs behind the Front desk we learnt it had been a family owned Hotel for years. As we stepped down from one section of hallway floor to the next we were told the year it was added on to the original building, again as we stepped up to another section of hallway floor same thing with the date when it was added on. The charming room with Antique furniture and a sink in our room. Being shown the Common Bathroom and showers.. what an amazing experience, We couldn’t have planned a better Honeymoon. Seeing Michael Buffer in person to say his Freshly Trademarked β€œLet’s Get Ready To Rumble” as the Pack came into the field, The wonderful tribute to Walter Payton by the Packers Organization. Staying a few days in the Green Bay Area was wonderful. Especially for a life long Packers fan. All the people were so nice and friendly. The Union Hotel felt like Home each evening when we got back for the night. We had Breakfast and dinner there all 3 days we stayed there. The staff was so wonderful, The food at the restaurants was top notch, delicious. It was an experience I will never forget… I have been back once since then, I do plan to go back again. Hopefully soon

Relish tray was a big hit but rock hard dinner rolls were awful, steaks were incredibly chewy and not properly cooked, in fact I could not cut mine with a steak knife it was so tough and had to pull it apart was the single worst steak ever, no joke it was a zero, hash browns were pathetic and greasy. The intentions were good ( I think) but the result was pretty bad, I could never recommend a steak at this eatery, others had fish and loved it, but think twice before you order steak.

Don't know where to begin since our experience was wonderful from our first step into the Lobby until we left. We had a 5:30 p.m. reservation and were escorted into the lavish dining room at precisely 5:30 after relaxing and enjoying drinks at the bar with attentive & courteous bartenders. Our group of 6 enjoyed steaks, walleye & flounder which were all prepared to perfection. Our waitress was so informative and attentive.
After not being there for a few years, we definitely won't wait so long to go back! This is what Supper Clubs used to be like, but The Union Hotel hasn't changed a bit! Highly recommend for that SPECIAL OCCASION!

A classic Supper Club experience - unrushed, top tier service in a vintage atmosphere. But the menu is not only more extensive than some in the category, every entree is also delicious. In our group of seven, everyone raved about their main course and dessert. Drinks were great. Prime rib was - surprisingly, perhaps - not an offering but was not missed. Plenty of red meat to choose from - plus pasta and seafood. The scallops were simply prepared with no sauce to hide behind and absolutely creamy and delicious. A must do restaurant!

Classic, and I mean classic supper club in Depere with about as much history in one three story building that you can pack into over 100 years of serving food and managing a hotel. If you like a good dose of walking into nostalgia then look no further than The Union Hotel. Yes, they boast hosting famous Packer players and coaches. Yes, the equipment manager who came up with the Packer logo stayed in the hotel for many years. Did I mention the food yet? Let me tell you... steaks cooked to perfection, scallops seared to perfection. Mushrooms that melt in your mouth. Hash browned potatoes that are hot and crispy. Classic drinks prepared in a classic bar that fits its throwback persona. Desserts such as Strawberry Schaum torte, pecan pie, door county cherry pie, and carrot cake that are all all luscious and divine! (If you have room for dessert!) And if you are as lucky as we were to speak to current co-owner, Mr. Boyd, he may tell some stories beyond just Packer history and speak about his family and how he runs the hotel with his daughter and son and two sisters. And you may even be lucky enough to have him show you around and share some of that Wisconsin hospitality we are so well known for! And maybe, just maybe... you may even come away with a wonderful memory or two!

Our first time here and were not disappointed. We had an early reservation, 5 pm, and sat right down instead of going to the bar. Wife ordered scallops and I had the Ahi Tuna. Both entrees were delicious. Service was excellent and the food was at the table before I could finish my first Old Fashioned. Drinks were really good too. I highly recommend.

As of February 2021: Their new cajun flounder dish is packed with flavor. Everything was fresh, scallops included. Perch is on par with any other establishment in the area. We had their homemade carrot cake for dessert. It was very moist with thick cream cheese icing, the perfect ending to a very satisfying meal! If you enjoy a classic upscale dinner experience complete with background jazz music you'll enjoy this place.
