I had never eaten here because I hadn't heard good things, but after reading all these wonderful reviews I decided to give them a try. I won't be making that mistake again. I ordered the garlic baked fish on a bed of quinoa. The quinoa tasted like an entire salt shaker was poured into it, and it wasn't fully cooked. The fish itself was crusty and had a rubbery texture and appeared to have been fried on the griddle top versus actually being baked as advertised. I returned it to the bar, and suggested to one of the employees that they find a different cook, because the food was not edible

This was a great stop for lunch on our family vacation. Everything we ate was delicious and the fries were amazing! The owner made sure we were taken care of the entire time. The service was excellent. We would definitely stop here again when in the area.

Food was good and came out fast. Spinach artichoke dip was super yummy, however came with lots of undercooked chips. Bartender was super overwhelmed with how busy it was and being solo. We did not want to order any additional drinks as it seemed like an inconvenience.

Great place to grab a burger and a cold one. The bartender was great, and our food came out really fast. Both me and my wife got the burger special for the day which was bacon, onions, jalapeños, cheese curds, and topped with buffalo sauce with ranch. Amazing.

We were on the road all day checking out waterfalls in the area. Found this place randomly. The burgers, fries, chicken wings, and artichoke dip were awesome! Best bar burger I've ever had! Fast service and clean atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Incident #1 Brought a friend that was visiting there for a beer & lunch. The staff seemed annoyed that we were there, one on their phone & the other playing one of the slot games. Had one beer & went down the street. Sorry for interrupting...

Incident #2 We ordered lunch for the office. I paid $14 dollars for a chicken cesar wrap. Got a little piece of what might be chicken & brown lettuce.

Really enjoying the vibe of this place. I went in late and ordered hand cut fries and a Caesar for one. I asked if it was like pit stops salad and she said yes but we make our dressing in house. The dressing and salad was awesome. It's similar to put stop but the new owner put her own spin on it. The fries were good and the seasoning was a nice touch. The bar tenders are always friendly and attentive! Glad to have a different food option!

Surprisingly good food!! I didn’t expect the food to be as good as it was. I ordered a pepperoni pizza. Would get again. The cheese curds were also good and it over cooked. The pickle fries had good flavor. I’m giving them a 4 though because the service was pretty disappointing. The waitresses seemed like they were having a hard time keeping up and it wasn’t that busy. They also didn’t seem to be the most friendly or have much a personality. They also had Karaoke on Saturday night. So I would go back, but hopefully the service would be better next time.

The new owners are doing a great job of bringing some fresh and fun ideas into Hurley. All of the food I've tried has been cooked and presented well. I really appreciate all of the vegetarian options to choose from. The plant based burger and loaded veggie wrap are both excellent. They also have tons of plant based starters. Their deep fried pickles are the best I've ever eaten. Although the cocktails are excellent, I especially love the creative emphasis on their mocktails. Owners are friendly and accommodating and The Upper Block is always our first choice for grabbing food when we are out.

New owners - fantastic food - great service! We were greeted almost immediately walking into the door (which is so nice to see!). Tried the Mint Mojito N/A off the mocktail menu - 10/10 the most refreshing summer drink! This is the haddock fish fry plate with the homemade hand cut fries (MY FAVORITE - so flavorful, I may dream about these fries!) The fish pieces are so juicy, not fishy, and are thick - you’re getting a bang for your buck that’s for sure.

With a rebrand it’s going to take some time to really get a good standard going so please give this business grace. They have already made leaps and bounds in the right direction.

Food selection wasn’t the greatest. Bartender on 6/8/24 was really bland and lifeless. And didn’t know the area at all. Beer was expensive. Atmosphere was boring and quiet. Expected a lot more. Went next door to Ironhorse and had a great time!

For a slower time of the day with most patrons drinking, a food order for two took a while to come out. Pizza was bland. No plates/utensils were provided even after asking. Expected a lot of changes based on reviews from friends. Music was blaring. Bartender, friendly guy, got into some soap opera drama with a crying women and then did a shot afterward. The new t-shirts and advertising would have you believe that it was a more shaped up place than it was before to enjoy a good meal with friends or family.

Brought some people from Italy for a Friday night fish fry and we were greeted and served by a waitress with a very snippy attitude, not friendly or welcoming at all. Definitely brought the vibes down. Took about 45 minutes for food to arrive, which was kind of expected considering we had 11 people. We went there about two weeks prior to this and had way better service. Highly disappointing considering we spent over $200 for dinner here when there many other places with better service and food. Fries were bland and just oily, brought it home seasoned it up and air fried and it was better. Rolls were hard and butter was already spread on it 😬. Fish was good. My daughter got a cheese quesadilla and when i asked what was in it while ordering, snippy waitresses said whatever you want on it. No need to be nasty to customers. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything spicy or something that would not be kid friendly. Before the male waiter came, my husband had to go back to the bar to get more beers. The waitresses attitude seemed to change when the male waiter started working, but she never came back to our table after she brought the food out 🤷🏻‍♀️ On a positive note, the place was clean and smelled nice.
