Only being able to make reservations on open table is a great inconvenience. When you have a larger party having to pay everyone’s bill up front only to then have them reimburse you is a headache that a guest shouldn’t have to go through, for the mediocre service and food. As convenient as it is for them it’s not for their guests.

We stayed at Hotel Northland for our anniversary and did a package which included breakfast at the Walnut Room. It was absolutely amazing! We enjoyed our meal and our server Selena was very kind. Angela was very welcoming, we will be back and look forward to seeing her smiling face!

This is the best fine dining restaurant in Green Bay and possibly in the top 3 I have been to. The food is delicious, the service is great, and the ambiance is amazing. I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant.

We celebrated a family birthday here. We all loved the ambiance. The old fashioned decor was really cool. The service was good all the way around. The food was hit and miss. None of it was bad, but as another review stated...the price means we expected a bit more on the quality side. Portions are reasonable and you can enjoy a long drawn out meal in a relaxed manner. The raspberry Gelato, excellent. The seared tuna, excellent. Crab cake, excellent. Lemon drop, very good. Everything else was acceptable but not wonderful. With 6 people and a good variety of food sampled from the menu we all said we would come back for dessert or drinks, not appetizers or food. The atmosphere is worthy of another trip back sometime. It's just not going to be on the top of our lists.

Easter brunch was a letdown in such a grand room…..no fresh omelets to order or fresh sliced Prime rib …..the buffet was not what I expected out of the Northland for that price…very disappointed…staff was wonderful though….Rivers Bend is 5 stars …would never consider this venue again for food on Easter….

Beautifully decorated and the food was amazing! I had the walleye and tiramisu for dessert! The service was “okay,” but that wouldn’t stop me from returning. Prices are higher end as well.

The worse experience ever. If I could give negative stars, I would definitely do so. Practically empty restaurant for breakfast and waiting for almost an hour for the simple order. Service is extremely slooooow, serving three tables. Simple 3 ingredientsomlet was screwedupand we had to wait like 10 minutestogetit replaced. Do yourself a favor. DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

I have eaten here a handful of times. The first time the food was perfect! Steak, Oysters, Scallops, drinks, everything. I mean PERFECT! Was so proud to have this place in GB. Went there a handful more times. If they can work on their consistency, they could really have something special. The restaurant and hotel is so cool. Well decorated and creates an old-time but updated feeling. The atmosphere is so cool. Will be back.

Dear Diners,
Hotel Northland's Walnut Room, a place of anticipated revelry on New Year's Eve, regrettably unfolded into a saga of misplaced promises and service mishaps.
Our reservations for 7 o'clock were met not with promptness but with an inexplicable delay in receiving our appetizers, leaving us in a limbo of anticipation until an unacceptable 8:30. The supposed follow-up soup became a mythical entity, never gracing our table.
Frustration peaked, and our recourse was a conversation with the restaurant manager. Their acknowledgment of the debacle was accompanied by a full comping of our meal. While a gesture of reconciliation, it couldn't erase the shadows cast over our celebratory spirits.
Regrettably, our waitress, though deserving of empathy in navigating such chaos, fell short in delivering the expected service. Despite this, acknowledging her effort, we left a tip as a nod to the profession rather than the execution.
New Year's celebrations are meant to be an ode to joy, but ours stumbled under the weight of unfulfilled assurances and lackluster service. While the manager's actions hinted at accountability, the experience bore the stains of disappointment.
Should you venture to the Walnut Room, let hopes be tethered to cautious expectations. May your celebrations steer clear of the tumult that marred ours.
Wishing for better experiences,
A Disheartened Party

Amazing food and atmosphere. We love staying at hotel northland and eating at the walnut room. This is our go to for high end food and cocktails. The duck ragout was out of this word and the heath bar cheesecake was to die for. Highly recommend the walnut room.

Kate Michaels was just the most amazing bartender I’ve ever had. She tended to me as if I was the only customer, she listened to me as if she was my friend, and she was just the best. I LOVE HER!!! Come here any time and they’ll give you good cocktails and maybe your be lucky enough to get Kate.

We were guests at Hotel Northland and had dinner at the restaurant on Friday (10/6) night. Unfortunately, it took over 45 minutes for our dinner to be served. We had reservation for 8pm and ordered dinner at 8:15pm, but were only only served at 9pm. The restaurant staff did not offer any type of apology to make the (extremely long) wait less painful. Additionally, we had breakfast there on Saturday (10/7) morning and on Sunday (10/8). On Saturday, it took 20 minutes for our breakfast to be served. On Sunday, we waited for 40 minutes (!) and saw 3 tables that arrived after we were seated being served before us! When inquiring about the (extremely long) delay, the server Ryan was very arrogant and rudely told me to "not make a scene". We asked to speak with the restaurant manager, but nobody was available. After 40 minutes waiting, we left without eating breakfast, and very frustrated and offended by the staff. It's a beautiful hotel and a nice restaurant, with a HUGE issue managing the timing to prepare and server the meals.

Ordered a medium steak and received well. Bernaise sauce was broken. Found bones in duck ragout. Food was pretty good, but they ran out of a dish and didn’t let our server know until our meal was served so one of us had our meal and the other waited half an hour for our other entree. Just a little disappointing for a $100 meal.

Outstanding. One of the best meals we've had in a long time. The walnut crusted walleye was amazing. There were 3 or 4 other entrees on the menu I would like to come back and try.

The Walnut Room is a very elegant restraunt in downtown Green Bay. The waitstaff went over and above to make sure we enjoyed our experience. The food was phenomenal while trying the mussels, mushroom wellington with a side of salmon and asparagus. I will definitely make reservations again in order to taste the rest of the menu.

The atmosphere of this place was amazing. The decor of the era transports you back in time. However the at was really where the good parts end. We went with 9 people to Easter Brunch, and had very high hopes with a 49.95 price tag per person. The food on the buffet wasn’t hot, which was concerning, but it also didn’t taste very good. The dessert offerings were fairly good, except for the cake, the butter cream frosting was much closer to whipped butter than frosting. In addition the brunch only included one drink and refills were extra, this seemed crazy for 49.95 a person. I would consider going again for a plated meal, but I wouldn’t return for any sort of buffet option.

My wife and I, along with our daughter and son-in-law, were here a couple weeks ago. The 2 ladies who served us were outstanding! The food was cooked to perfection, as were the crabcakes. Drinks were good. Nothing took longer to serve than any other place we have gone to. We are coming back with some friends soon. Thanks for a great night out!

Although we had not made a reservation, they were able to squeeze us in. That said, I would make a reservation in the future as their seating capacity is small. However, the food is simply amazing, and the waitstaff some of the finest I have ever met. Portions were generous. Definitely worth the price. Our group had the calamari, French onion soup, a new york strip steak cooked to perfection, and chicken marsala. Our compliments to the waitstaff and chef.

Went for dinner with my husband and the atmosphere is great. Nice place to relax, enjoy drinks and conversate. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. However, the food isn't the greatest, especially for the price. I ordered the filet(med) and asparagus and got a well done filet with green beans. Also had waited a good 25min before we even got our drinks.

They don't deserve the 1 star minimum required here.
We had a reservation. The restaurant was not busy, especially for night before a Packers game. We waited over 45 minutes for appetizers. After another hour we inquired about our food. the food came out a few minutes later. 3 steaks and an order of lamb chops. These items were barely seared outside and completely raw all the way through (cold to touch). All the dishes were ordered medium, medium well, or well done. My daughter in law actually expressed to the server upon ordering that her steak needed to be well done due to the fact that she is pregnant. After receiving the table full of raw meat, we asked the waitress for our check for our cocktails and appetizers and explained we were leaving.
The manager did come over and comp the few thing we had, gave a half a... apology. Problem is we had wasted our night at this restaurant. Now being 9:50 PM (Green Bay pretty much shuts down at 10 PM with exception of the bars) we found ourselves speeding across town to get to Culvers before they closed at 10:00.
Thank you for ruining our evening Walnut Room.

Amazing food and drinks in an elegant space. The fish en papillote was incredible, as were all of the 4 side dishes we shared. The Baked Alaska for dessert was a special treat to capstone a great meal. 10/10 recommend.

Fantastic experience and atmosphere. The food was good, though a bit overpriced IMHO. Service was slow and a bit inconsistent but the server was probably dealing with kitchen issues, and she made the best of it. The one major flaw : The electronic menus are silly and should be replaced with proper menus. Such an awkward thing in an otherwise elegant restaurant.

Very satisfied with the quality of our food, crab cakes were phenomenal and actually takes fresh. My French onion soup was to die for, best I’ve ever had. I ordered filet mignon and it was a bit over done, but they happily made me a new one and it was perfect. I did think we had to wait awhile for the food which surprised me cause it wasn’t very busy. But our waitress was wonderful so between that, the atmosphere of this beautiful restaurant, and the quality of the food, we were highly satisfied. It is so refreshing to finally find a place in Green Bay where the Chefs clearly take pride in their food and what they send out. My taste buds are forever grateful!! We will certainly be back

Seated at 630 for our reservations. Ordered drinks and food at 645. Didn't receive food until 740. Which the food on the plate did not match the menu or the pictures provided. Food was average at best. Fish was overcooked and the elk was way underseasoned.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant, amazing service and the food was just as impressive. We were able to get in last minute and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. We got the cheese board (amazing), a wine off the list, steak and shrimp and ended the night with some baked Alaska. The aesthetic of the restaurant is very cool and has a classic elegance. Gives me an almost Great Gatsby mixed with The Stanley hotel vibe. My husband and I absolutely loved The Walnut Room and we will be back for more date nights. ❤️

My husband and I had a very delicious dinner at the Walnut Room last night. We both had a Caesar salad and the Elk Loin, which were both delicious and a very nice Cabernet. Before dinner, my husband had the Maple smoked old-fashioned and I had a lemon drop, which were also top notch. Our server, Laura, provided excellent service. We will definitely be back!

Ambiance and service are good but not excellent.
The menu is odd for breakfast in a Marriott.
The food was very bland (eggs Benedict) and the OJ, skip it. It’s that cheap stuff you only buy when your vodka drinking drunk friends are coming over.
I’m coming from a big city perspective when I say this, it’s cheap. Where can you get eggs Benedict for $11?

The entire nation is short staffed and frustrated, but the customer doesn't want or need to hear about it. We are patient, understanding customers who have been a part of the restaurant world for generations. There is no need to neglect the paying customers and blame it on others and/or circumstances. I was completely embarrassed to have used this venue for a large family gathering.

Exceptional decor, the place looks elegant. My hat is off to the restoration of this beautiful building. The waitress and host were extremely friendly even wishing us a happy anniversary and bringing a small dessert. The cost is high for Green Bay but worth it for the experience. My wife's salmon was done perfectly. I did make the mistake of ordering the chicken marsala, don't bother since every Italian restaurant can do this dish better. Overall a great dining experience.

A bit of a bummer. We had shrimp tempura for an appetizer and the Korean bbq sauce was phenomenal, best part of our meal. I had the filet mignon topped with bleu cheese with grilled asparagus and the gnocchi. It was a very soft juicy steak but it was not medium and all, more well done. The gnocchi didn’t seem freshly made. My husband had the duck with turnip and sweet potatoes. The duck did not taste freshly cooked either, more like it was warmed up. The veggies with the duck were good. Our waitress was so nice and friendly. Just hoping for more of an exceptional meal here. It didn’t quite meet our expectations, and feel as though the quality does not match the prices.

We came for breakfast the day after Valentine's day so it was super quiet. The room itself is beyond gorgeous, the tables were spaced appropriately and the Tuscan Frittata was delicious and exactly what I needed at that moment. What really made this 5 stars, though, was our server Ryan (I think that was his name?? I'm writing this a month later). He was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating and made us feel like valued guests!

We had a reservation made for a group of 8 (Approved by the manager) the day that the restaurant week menu's were released. When we arrived we were told there was NO reservation and there was nothing they could do about it. They never tried to accommodate - this was 5:00 PM and they were not busy. We as a group tried to accommodate ourselves at Poke-the-Bear (Which is the Pub/Bar within the Hotel) the customer service was awful. Food choices for Restaurant week were less than appealing as well. We also requested to put two tables together as there was 8 of us- we were told No-we do not put tables together here ??? We eventually did order, our drinks took longer to get to us than the food. I paid $12.00 for a cocktail that was gross and my food was not good either. I was never asked if the food or drink was to my liking as I am sure they were not interested in my opinion. I am not interested in Northland Hotel or Poke the Bear ever again!

We had made reservations right when the restaurant week menus came out. The manager ok’d that date and time. When we arrived today at 5:00pm they didn’t have us on their list and the manager would not even try to get us in. Remember this was 5:00pm the dining room was completely empty. So we went to see if we could get into Poke the Bear and they did but they wouldn’t push 2 tables together so all 7 of us could be together. Not a very warm welcoming place. I would not recommend it.
