Food was delightfully mediocre but reasonably priced. The cheese curds were not up to Wisconsin standards and were overcooked. My kids had zero problem finishing them off though. The local beers served here were ok, but the establishment lacks variety. I feel like I was the waiter for our table as I did most of the waiting. Our server had a serious issue keeping my glass full as it was empty most of the night. She would disappear from 20-30 minutes at a time. As Brian Griffon from family guy aptly put it, “I have left more personality in tightly coiled piles on the lawn.” This describes our server to a T. Whenever she did decide to grace us with her presence she never smiled and possessed zero bedside manner. Next time we are in town we will skip the Wicked Hop and try to discover something more refreshing.

We were visiting and this place was a super fun restaurant! It had a fun and funky atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was very kind and stayed on top of things. The food was amazing. We had a foot long grilled cheese which in itself made the place worth it. The like Cajun pasta thing was good and so was the salmon BLT. Absolutely terrible service tonight 9-9-25. Got seated right away. Waited 10-15 minutes for waitress. Place was busy and understaffed. Placed our drink and food order. Took 15 minutes to get our drinks. Waited 30 minutes for our food and never got it. Waitres said it would be out shortly but waited another 10 minutes We had to leave so never got our food. Paid for drinks and left. I've been here multiple times in the past and never had a problem. Hopefully this was just a 1 time bad night.

I recently visited Milwaukee to see the Neil Young concert and stayed near the Third Ward. We ended up at the Wicked Hop for brunch on Saturday and it was a very pleasant experience. Our table was outside so we were able to people watch and see the art festival as it got up and running that morning. The service, food and atmosphere were great - Wicked Hop has a very relaxing and chill vibe. There were so many good choices on the menu it was hard to pick - I ended up with an ice tea and the Crescent Wrench which is essentially a scrambled egg, cheese, and I choose avocado on a buttery croissant (bacon or sausage was also an option). I opted for a side of fruit which had generous portion of pineapple, orange slices and melon. I would definitely recommend this as a must visit stop on your next trip to the Third Ward. I’m looking forward to my next selection and, on my next visit, I’ll try one of their Bloody Mary’s. Cheers!

Very unfriendly lady at the desk. My friend needs a cane can't walk or support herself very well. Was told we would be upstairs " that ain't happening", then was told we would be at a high top table. When I made the reservation I was told we could decide if we wanted outside or not. This same lady told me that they could not accommodate us because the students were out of school, we would have to accept where she put us. Thankfully another lady and
man came and took care of us. Retraining this person on disability issues would be good as well as attitude. I feel badly I didn't get her name. But our waitress was warm and very friendly and the rest of the time with your resturaunt was good.

We came on a super busy Friday night and we absolutely enjoyed ourselves. We were able to enjoy our beverages and our food was delicious. Our server Bailey K. was awesome. I just currently walked out of this place and went across the street to Benelux BECAUSE, we walked inside (myself, my friend and who two kids) we got seated, and waited for 10 minutes for anyone, during this time three more tables walked in got seated- served waters and their drinks, while we didn’t even get a water or acknowledged, we then said something to the host which she said “oh yeah I’ll tell a server” proceeded to wait another 7 minutes (watched another table get seated and served drinks) and so we walked out. As a first time experience with two young and hungry kids, I will not be returning or giving my service, very disappointing.

We stopped in and the hostess was going to sit us at a table. We asked could we sit in the other room where it’s colder she said sure. Right as we were sitting at a bar a table opened up. I asked the hostess can you whip down the table can we have it she said sure and whipped it down. Right as we sat down the waitress said are you able to sit there I think there’s a wait for tables. We said yes the hostess just whipped the table and said we can sit there. The waitress proceeded to NEVER once stop by our table. The waitress went to every table around us.

The manager did stop by our table and apologize after we went and said something. The manager had a different waitress come by our table and she was awesome! The new waitress saved our review from a 1 to a 3 but we probably won’t go back.

I was so excited to eat here. When we arrived the outdoor server was short with us. When we went inside we were unfortunately seated in the same servers section outside. We ordered drinks and appetizers. We never received little plates to eat the appetizers. We ate off napkins. We placed our dinner order and was told there was a back up in the kitchen. After 40 min I inquired how much longer for food. Server went to check 10 minutes later she informed us that our order had not been put through. No apology or explanation. Just short and nonchalant. We thanked her and asked for our check. Paid and left a tip. No need to make an unpleasant experience worst. We loved the patio seating and all the people around us. Unfortunately everything else came up short.

Went with my friend after summerfest and the bartenders were lowkey rude! Not sure if it was something specific with us but they literally would have a smile on their faces while tending to their friends at the end of the bar and they’d quite literally come by us and their facial expressions would immediately look annoyed. They would not check in at all with us I’d have to flag them down when we needed anything. I understand after events like summerfest where you’re tending to lots of people it’s easy to feel annoyed or overwhelmed but this felt very targeted given we were the only two people at the bar they seemed to be treating like that. Just don't come here. The hostess just stood there, with her greasy hair, hating the world and pouting and ignored us for 5 minutes.
Once FINALLY seated, our drinks sat on the bar for 20 minutes getting hot. We got our cheese curds before we got our drinks. And it was not the bartenders fault. The drinks were made, just sitting there because our waitress had no clue what she was doing and they were warm by the time they got to us and the beer somewhat flat. We were sat at a 2 top and when she first approached us, she asked if it would just be us 2. ???? Where else would anyone sit?

A Salmon Sandwich That Conquers!
I recently had the opportunity to visit this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I opted for the salmon sandwich with a side of fries, and I must say it was an excellent choice. The salmon was cooked to perfection, juicy and full of flavor, complementing the other ingredients in the sandwich wonderfully. The fries, for their part, were crispy and delicious – the ideal accompaniment.
Beyond the food, the ambiance of the place was very pleasant, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Furthermore, the service was impeccable; the staff was attentive and friendly at all times, contributing to a very positive experience.
My only observation would be the variety of the menu, which I found a bit limited. However, this doesn't detract from the quality of what they do offer. If you're a fan of good salmon and are looking for a place with excellent ambiance and service, I definitely recommend giving the wicked Hop a try!.

Visited with a date and certainly wouldn’t recommend. The hostess and server were rude & dismissive from the introduction, atmosphere was odd, and the food was mostly a miss. They had music either glaringly loud or totally absent, and dust was visibly floating onto our table. We ordered some drinks, which were flat/stale. Our apps were decent tasting, but way overpriced for what you get. But the worst part was definitely the salmon entree. The rice was cold/hard, vegetables looked boiled without any seasoning, the fish was rubbery & very fishy-flavored, and everything was somehow greasy without the flavor to match. Not sure how they stay open serving that.

Came here for a birthday dinner & had a pretty horrendous experience. We are a group of people who have all worked in food service and bartended for multiple years, and the service we received was unacceptable. First we had a reservation made well in advance, and the host stand did not greet us before insinuating there was a problem with our reservation. We up getting sat and did not have a server come to us for 25 minutes. We had to walk up to the host stand after 15 to kindly let them know we had not been greeted, and they just said “okay we’ll send someone up”, and we waited another 10 minutes before anyone came. Our server was perfectly nice and was probably overworked, but did not apologize for the wait. We had a view of the bar and watched our drinks sit on it for 15 more minutes before they were brought to our table. We had to ask for everything from water to silverware. Once we had our food, I cannot make this up there was literal METAL. In my French fries. Obviously from a Brillo pad or something. We then waited again for a crazy amount of time for someone to come check on us, and ultimately had to walk downstairs to ask for a manager. When the “manager” walked up, he seemed annoyed with us, didn’t apologize once, grabbed the fries and said “gotcha”. No I’m sorry, nothing. The fact that they had zero reaction or attempt at an apology to a pretty serious health concern was really off putting. The staff then proceeded to make the original server come up to our table and continue serving us when at this point it should have been a manager issue. We made it very clear to the manager the fries were obviously the fault of the kitchen but we were treated like we were an annoyance. The server came back and said “we took 20% off the bill how does that sound” and walked away. If one person we dealt with at this restaurant would have apologized we would have left a normal tip. This being a birthday dinner that took us almost 2 hours to complete was really disappointing. Bloodys were fantastic though as always.

Highly recommended by a friend who lives nearby, & rides the city's free shuttle to their door. We showed up at 6:11pm on a Saturday night, pd $18 for 2hrs of pre-paid parking, then walked in with our party of 5, to hear "45min for a table". At 50min, we (including my short wife with a cane) were taken up a flight of stairs, and seated at a high-top table, (hard stools for her to get onto, & then her legs dangle). * Lessons learned: call ahead to make a reservation, and include any special requests like "ground floor, & not a high-top". I don’t like posting negative reviews but this seems like a health concern so I feel I need to address it. Our bartender gave us our beers with literal blood on the glasses after cutting their hand. Obviously this was an accident, and they were incredibly apologetic and gave us new ones, but still charged us. (They put on a glove when he found the cut). I touched the glass so I went to the bathroom to wash my hands, and there was no hand soap (only hand sanitizer). I told the host and asked if there was another bathroom to wash my hands. They said “sorry no but hopefully we’ll get more soap tomorrow.”
No hand soap? In a restaurant? And a bartender cut his hand? Made me wonder if anyone on staff was able to wash their hands. Seems like a health concern to me. Idk, if I ran a restaurant and was out of hand soap, I’d walk down to the drugstore and buy some.
I would give one star but I want to give the benefit of the doubt. I won’t be returning unfortunately.

Wait time on a very busy Saturday brunch time was max 15 minutes quoted 45 minutes which was very cool. Got our server Andrew he was ready to go quick with getting our drinks and food order right off. Andrew checked in several times to make sure we had what we needed and we had drinks full. My friend and I visited The Wicked Hop on a Saturday around 5:30pm. The server was hyped, nervous, and aggressive all at once. He was at our table before we even sat down, usually this is great; however, it came at us as aggressively such as get your food so you get out of here so we can rotate the table to another paying customer ... it was very odd behavior.
The food came at us at the same rapid fire speed. My friend had cheese fries, and I ordered cheese curds, and they were great, but what came out of the kichen for the main meal was godawful. The Wicked Hop burger was cooked to death and lacked any flavor. My friend had a bowel of chili that he thought was out of a Dinty Moore can, nothing against Dinty Moore, but you do not expect that when you pay around $10 for the bowl. My friend also said the lemonade drink was way too sugary.
What can I say? The atmosphere was a bar. The bar area actually had better music playing than the dining section, which had this odd Muscak along with sporting events playing on two different screens. All in all, it is way too much sensory input.
The restaurant was very busy, which was odd considering the meal we just had. Maybe their specialty is appetizers, and perhaps they should stick to that instead of serving dinners. Just an idea.
Would I return to The Wicked Hop? Absolutely not. As you can surmise, I do not recommend The Wicked Hop unless all you want are drinks and appetizers.

Pretzel bites and cheese curds. This place is across the street from my house and it’s dangerous because these cheese curds are so squeaky and fresh. The pretzel bites melt in your mouth. Service was great! Love the outside seating area and the 2nd floor seating was fun. Very cool. Highly recommend.

Great food. The waitress was decent. Here is where the 1 comes in. We were on business trip and asked for separate checks. They said no because we were a party of 6. Not busy at all. Could have totally separated. Manage couldn't prove that was their policy. Not satisfied at all. Big bummer. Won't be telling friends

This place is very rude 2 custmers i went here one day 4 lunch i order a hambuger that wasn't done 2 my likeing so i sent it. Back the manaeger and thier secuity came out and told me i had leave i am a old person and in a wheelchair and this how they treat a person

Went here over the weekend for the first time in a long time, and it’ll likely be a long time before I return. We were told we could order at the bar and seat ourselves so we grabbed a table upstairs. We were not offered a server, even though the area we sat in was supposedly for the servers, but we still had to grab out food from the bar. Lastly, the food was not that great this time around. Wings (hot & parm/garlic I believe) were dry with no flavor & the drinks were bad (crown & sprite, maybe the syrup needed to be changed, I didn’t pay attention to if she cracked a can had it on a bar gun.

Had the unfortunate experience of choosing this restaurant for our only dinner in Milwaukee.

I should have known we were in trouble when the rude host guy shrugged and begrudgingly said " like uh, I guess you can sit there?" while pointing at a high top.

We ordered the hot pretzel appetizer thinking they would be freshly made with authentic Wisconsin beer cheese BUT THEY ARE LITERALLY THE SAME FROZEN PRETZELS THAT COME IN A PACK AT COSTCO. I wish I was kidding.

Our waitress Mercedes was few and far between and refilling our water or drinks must have been against her religion. We could see our food settling for 10 minutes to a nice lukewarm temperature out of the kitchen and we almost resorted to going to rescue it ourselves.

I urge you to not waste your time at this (apparently) tourist trap restaurant next to the public market. I'm sure there are much better choices than this unsatisfactory establishment!

My husband and I went to check this place out while in Milwaukee. We wanted to check out a spot with a dj. Based on reviews, we decided on The Wicked Hop. When we entered, there was a sign that said WAIT TO BE SEATED. We waited, and the security lady approached us and looked like she was ready for night night time, had an attitude, said to just pick any spot to sit, and walked away. Mind you, we have never been to this place, clueless we wandered around to pick our seats. She could have at least pointed out that there are two sections on the first floor, and there is an upstairs area.
Anyways, once we seated ourselves, we waited, not knowing we had to get our own drinks from the bar. Which is fine, but it would have been nice to know.
We shook off all that bad customer service and tried to enjoy our night.
However, the DJ sucked. He only played one genre.
A gentleman who worked there walked by, and I asked if I could order a coffee. He said yes. I waited over an hour for coffee and didn't even get it. As soon as my husband finished his beer, we left.

The Wicked Hop is a very good resturaunt. During the summer, the outside seating has a really nice atmosphere, being adjacent to several other Milwaukee nightlife locations. The food is very high quality, and our server was very kind and attentive. The meals are reasonably priced, and the fries are VERY good. I would definetely come back.
