We LOVED this place. First time here and we will return! Best Happy Hour! BEST kale salad I have ever had. Nicole our bartende/server was so nice and informed us of many things in town we were not aware of. A perfect recipe for a perfect evening.

One of the best meals of my life. You can get good food from many places around Milwaukee, good cuts of aged beef, sparkling locations like Habor House. But its rare to find a place that so clearly has the depth of creative thought in the dishes. There are real chefs here, you couldn't do better in the city.

A fantastic find during our stay in Milwaukee—just a short walk from our hotel. We stopped in for small bites and were blown away. The roasted carrot hummus was a standout—unexpectedly delicious and full of flavor. The Brussels sprouts were another surprise—unique and expertly crafted by the chef. The oysters were fresh and incredible. Loved the elegant atmosphere—sophisticated but still relaxed and welcoming.

Wow we went out with the family and some friends for dinner we get there and with four kids and four adults we needed food fast and we got it fast. The waiter helped us get cheese burgers for the younger ones and the food on the menu was delicious I got the aura king salmon and the toast was all there

Good service, nice space, food wasn't good. We had the salmon and cod. The salmon dish was Spanish inspired, but very confused with 15-20 ingredients in it that just didn't work. The cod was bland and lower quality.

I celebrated my birthday here this evening and Alex, Nicole and Mitch went above and beyond to make sure that I felt special and taken care of. The food was PHENOMENAL. We had oysters, brussel sprouts, and a variety of incredible cocktails. Everything was absolutely wonderful. I absolutely found my new favorite spot in Milwaukee, 90% because of the wonderful service.

Great restaurant with very interesting food combinations whether it is the Burrata with bloodorange or the salmon as on the picture. Biggest surprise was the carrot cake as I am usually not too much of a fan but it was warm with crumble and cream - outstanding.

The food was so delicious and creative, but not so creative as to overpower the freshness of the fish. The atmosphere was perfect - very relaxed but also sophisticated and elegant. And out server was warm, friendly, and excellent in all ways! So was the host by the way.
The only input I might have is to add one or two interesting vegetarian option. We'd love to bring our daughter with us next time but there wasn't really much on the menu for her. WE will be back though!

Classy and fun. Knowledgeable, polite wait staff. Delicious food. I think my scallops were the tastiest I've ever had. The brussel sprouts were a bit disappointing, as they were sitting in the squash risotto and were thus mushy. The drinks were awesome!!
I gave 4 stars for atmosphere because it was cold in there! Felt chilled the entire meal.

Third Coast Provisions is a beautiful restaurant, perfect for this trendy stretch of Milwaukee Street. We had drinks at the bar before dinner, and it was lovely. The service was friendly, the dry Riesling from Prűm amazing, and my vodka martini good enough. Our downhill run began when the rest of our party arrived. Led upstairs to a table for five in an empty room at the back, I immediately voiced my displeasure. Told they were unable to seat us downstairs, I compromised and accepted a table over-looking the main dining room.
Service was well-meaning but inexperienced. Our server’s contrived perkiness was a turn-off, and her descriptions of the menu were rehearsed and uninformative. However, she tried. I can’t say that about the kitchen. The food they produced was less than mediocre. Everything tasted like mush. Seafood preparation requires a deft touch, and these chefs were butchers. The food was over-cooked, over-sauced, over-fried, and over-priced. My wife didn’t touch a thing after one bite.
However, I was missing the point. Milwaukee Street is not about food preparation. The restaurants are all about the scene, as I noticed groups of young people enjoying their night out drinking their dinner. You get my point. Foodies stay away, but the young and attractive will enjoy Third Coast Provisions. Milwaukee is not a great seafood town. High end restaurants such as Sanfords and Lake Park Bistro will do fish justice. Yet, that’s not the crowd Third Coast Provisions is catering to. People like me get led upstairs to the back room.

This is one of those cozy little spaces with a chill vibe and great service. We dropped in after the tree lighting to try out the fondue. We opted for the savory Gruyere Chili Crisp that came with summer sausage, pretzel bites, and lightly picked red pepper and carrot slices. We did a grilled cheese with tomato soup as a bit extra. Neither disappointed... super tasty all around. To go with we chose the mocha martini and it was the sweet treat the evening needed. The sweet fondue looked enticing but it would have to wait for our next visit!
Our server was extremely nice and helpful. The atmosphere was low light with perfect music to go with.

Alex was very attentive and he was knowledgeable about the menu items. The atmosphere was nice with the front window open and sitting and watching as people walked by. The steak tartar was delicious with the potato chip topping but a little too salty. The scallops were delicious along with the duck tacos. They were spicy and had a fantastic flavor. We ended with the key lime pie which was also good and just the right amount of dessert. The old fashion was surprisingly good with the aged rum and the other bourbon drink I had was also very delicious.

We had a Saturday reservation for dinner and were seated in the upstairs dining area. I'm glad it was empty when we first got there because the tables were very close together. We started with the duck carnitas tacos and those were excellent. For dinner we had the spinach cavatelli which was outstanding and the halibut that I didn't care for and wouldn't order again. We also had the green hummus and bread, also a solid choice. We had non alcoholic drinks and the bill without tip was $126, parking we found nearby on the street. Overall the service was great and the only disappointment was the fish.

The food was delicious. The kitchen was very accomidating for any adjustments/allergies. They had a gluten free bread option (flatbread/pizza crust style) that was pretty yummy.
I was surprised that they only had three Oyster options when we were there. The only reason it gets 4 stars for service was for the waiter who brought out the food was always very short and was very much below par compared to all other staff members.
It is a more expensive dinner, but delicious non the less.

I came here with my fiance for date night and had a lovely experience. We're pescatarian (but no shellfish) and had several great options.
The flavor of the food was amazing. Some of the formats were difficult to know how to eat. The crispy rice tuna is labeled as a shareable but it's one piece that falls apart when cut. It tasted great, but it was difficult to figure out how to eat. I had the salmon and my fiance had a whitefish, both were very good. We also had the key lime pie dessert which was deconstructed, so a little fussy to eat, but tasted great. Our server was attentive and had a kind personality.

Higher end fare.
Great for starters to share. We had seven different plates and all were wonderful.
Some of the best carrotcake I have ever had.
Server Estrella was super sweet too. Explained all ingredients we didnt know.
Cocktails were creative.
It is a bit pricey, but not horribly expensive. We were very happy. $250 after tip for three people eating and some drinks.

Parking is an issue but a few parking decks are within 2-3 blocks. Upon entering the smell was so fishy in a non-good way. We were seated at a table next to the bartenders station even though other tables were available. For the price and atmosphere- I did not appreciate the extra noise and eating next to a bus/bar station wasn’t very elegant. We ordered drinks and they were good. We ordered potholes ( lobster in about a pound of melted butter- so not really my thing) and calamari (which was mostly heavily breaded calamari so the calamari is totally lost to the the heavy breading.) Atmosphere is small and loud, food not really impressive from our experience. Drinks were good. Staff was wonderful except why seat us in a mostly empty restaurant next to a bus/bar station with tons of noise? I would not return…two apps, two drinks and substandard seating for $120 with tip plus parking. . Milwaukee has so much unique and above average dining I’d take my chances elsewhere.

We stopped in for Milwaukee Downtown Dining Week and we were not disappointed! The decor and style of service is similar to places I've dined in Europe or a fish house on the coast. Options for sparkling or still water when you sit down, and good sized wine list, and creative menu options.
We all went with the dining week menu, I liked that they added wine pairings with the appetizers and entrees to help make your decision. I enjoyed the crispy calamari for my appetizer, ora king salmon for an entrée, and the key lime semifreddo to top it off for dessert! Everything was plated so beautifully and tasted amazing!
The dining week is a great time to get some different patrons in the door, and I am looking forward to going back to try some more of the menu items!

We came here for dinner with a party of 12 to celebrate my husband’s medical school graduation. Overall, the food was delicious! The service was ok. Our waitress took drink orders but only for half the table. She brought back a bottle of wine and a few glasses and accidentally knocked them over. My husband had to dig glass shards that fell into his pants. After that, it felt like our waitress was flustered the rest of the night with not taking and putting in orders efficiently. Someone in our group received the wrong order of pasta, which they fixed. The manager actually came out to apologize for the mix up and gave us complimentary dessert (which was very very good) but took 20 minutes to come out. Scallops, oysters, pothole, halibut, etc were all delicious. Highly recommend for the food but will have to try again for the service.

First time here. It's been on our list for a while, so we were excited to go. Had 5:30 reservations and got right in. The hostess was friendly, and got us seated towards the back of the lower level. There is a large bar towards the front, and most of the seating is in the rear, with another seating area on the second level that overlooks the rest of the first floor.
Our server did a great job of settling us in with water, our first drinks and explaining the menu items (thanks Alex). I had the very interesting Old Fashioned, made with Rum and coffee flavor. I'm not a coffee drinker but enjoyed it. The Pinot Noir for my partner was also very good.
We shared a combination of small plates including; the Tuna Crispy Rice, Roasted Scallops, and Duck Carnitas Tacos. All excellent choices. The only issue we had was that the spinach on the scallops plate was extremely spicy (no mention in the description). We mentioned that to the server, and after talking to the chef, apologized, acknowledged that it was TOO spicy and comped the price of that item (which we didn't even ask for - nice!)
We finished with the Carrot Cake dessert. It was as good as it was described.
All around an amazing experience. It will go towards the top of our list of places to return to.

Excellent experience overall. We went early and waited for the kitchen to start serving dinner. They do have a happy hour menu until 5pm. The place became very busy but not loud.
Very good experience with our server (I believe Gaven), who was knowledgeable and polite.
The bread (which is closer to a naan) comes with deep of your choice. The appetisers, Green salad with beets and deviled eggs, where nicely balanced.
Very happy with the two main courses as well.
I disagree with other reviews that the portions are small. Price wise, it's on the higher side, but the quality justifies the prices.

I wanted to love this place but it really fell short for me. I don’t often write reviews but felt moved to share a little about this experience. Our server was lovely but did not appear to be extremely knowledgeable. Several basic questions were asked about food & wine that were given a confusing answer … like she really just didn’t know. The food was mediocre … as a group of 4 we ordered bread, oysters, mussels, tuna tartar, lobster potholes, salmon & halibut entrees & 2 desserts. Everything was … good, I guess. Portions were on the smaller side across the board, which would have been totally acceptable if the prices weren’t much higher than I’ve seen at comparable restaurants in the area. There was also a 10% “wellness fee” added to the bill. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry my whole life, I’m all for this … do what you gotta do to take care of your people 100%. But it wasn’t stated anywhere that this was part of their “operating fee” and just seemed to be slid into the itemized bill without mention. To me seemed to be lacking a little transparency. Anyhow, dinner was fine but definitely don’t think it was worth the price.

We had muscles, bread with cheese spread for appetizers. The muscles were extraordinarily small but came with a good portion of fries on the side. The butter spread was a little too salty with the bread. We also ordered a bottle of wine that was half off and delicious. The server seemed very knowledgeable on the wine and food menus. The main course I had the rigatoni with braided short rib. It was delicious, slightly spicy but the beef was incredible. The other members of my party ordered scallops salmon and the duck tacos. There were 4 scallops but a huge portion of the side. Our bill was around $225 before tip.

Eagerly anticipated a long-awaited return to Third Coast, where, pre-pandemic, we had some of the best seafood Milwaukee offers. What we found was a much different, smaller menu with only three seafood mains, along with five other carnivorous main course selections. They push appetizers here...and every dish has a story being told by your server about how 'Chef Andrew was inspired by yada yada yada to create this dish.' I understand having to reinvent yourself after COVID and reduce your inventory, but this is not the 3rd Coast we came to love. It's such a great space, and a great atmosphere, but the Saturday Night Live-caliber storytelling from the server was the headline, not the food. For nearly $100/person - and we each only had one drink - you need to do better. (Additionally, if the valet wants $7 to park my car, he should actually go get it, instead of hitting my remote to flash my lights and show me how close he parked my car.)

Unlike the latest review before mine, my guest and I felt the service was the best part. We arrived five minutes early to our reservation and were seated immediately. Our staff was very attentive and we received our drinks promptly. I ordered the "Dirty"; a dirty martini which was served with a plate of olive, trout roe, and lemon twist so you could choose which to put in your drink, which is unusual. I tried the roe, but it wasn't for me. I would prefer to receive a drink fully made and not have to finish it off by receiving a plate of optional garnishes. My date had the "Inherent Vice" which was very tasty. The atmosphere was exceptional and very cozy; a great place for a date.
The food on the other hand somewhat missed the mark. We started with the oysters from Massachusetts, which were not great and sort of tasted like lake water. They came pre-garnished with citrus-beet juice and horseradish; was not a fan of the beet juice. The flatbread with crab dip was actually quite good but we were both surprised it had mashed potatoes at the bottom, at least that's what we think it was. Not terrible, just interesting. My date ordered the fish fry with fingerling potatoes side. She thought the fish was very good but was disappointed in the "dill" potato pancake. This was more like a hushpuppy texture and thick as a hockey puck. It wasn't dill seasoned, it was dill overload which was off-putting and is not a classic potato pancake. If this is going to stay on the menu I would recommend not calling it a potato pancake as when you receive it you instantly realize it's not your typical potato pancake. I had the 6oz fillet mignon with fries and the seasonal mushrooms on the side. The fillet was perfectly seasoned and cooked exactly to order, and the mushrooms were fantastic but the fries were slightly overdone. It seems like Third Coast is trying to put a twist, or flair of their own on each menu item and I have to be honest, I wasn't impressed with that aspect. This restaurant has the potential to earn a 5 star rating from me, but as I said it slightly missed the mark last night.

Unfortunately we fall into the mixed experience category. The service was the worst part of our experience. Our drinks just sat at the bar with our waiter completely MIA. We were oversold a bottle of Cabernet that I’m still regretting we didn’t return with the promises that it was just great. It also took way too long to get to us. We arrived before the rush but somehow ended up eating after everyone else.
The “homemade” pita was fresh but tasted exceedingly plain, undercooked and store bought, the octopus and tuna appetizers delicious. The salmon and potatoes were overcooked and greasy, the fish fry and filet delicious.
Would never return mostly because the service was so bad. Do NOT take their advice on wine if the bottle is the most expensive on the list. We should have done some research beforehand. Trust but verify!

My husband and I went here for New Years Eve. I love a coursed meal, so I was excited to go here for the first time. Unfortunately our experience was not a good one. We happened to be half an hour early for our reservation and intended to get a drink at the bar, but they were able to seat us right away as there were only like 2 tables with guests. We were provided with the coursed menu where we had 3 selections to make. We had a couple simple questions about the menu, which the staff didn’t know the answers to. I would’ve thought we’d be walked through the menu more and that was not the case. We made the first 2 selections and were told we could think about our dessert option, even though we didn’t ask to wait and would’ve been happy to select something. I did the wine pairing to go along with the menu. Our first course came immediately, before we’d even gotten drinks. It was one oyster each, which tasted wonderful but was such a small portion. After that course the server came over and told us we had to choose our dessert and made reference to how busy they would be and they needed to get everything into the kitchen right away. At this point there are maybe 5 tables and we were half an hour early, so it was surprising that it was immediately a rushed experience. My first course wine comes along with the second course. So now I’m pressured to finish my wine in order to get on track. I tried to focus on my wine, so I could have my second glass with my second course. I wasn’t done with my first glass when the second wine came. I basically had to chug my first one. I moved onto the second course and finished it before my wine. Again I ended up with the third course while I still had my second glass of wine to drink. This theme continued. Each course came out immediately after you finished the last. There was no break between courses. No time to enjoy the wine. The wine pairings were not at all timed with the food. For a $300+ meal I just expect more. We were out of there within 40 minutes. It was so rushed and not at all the experience we were hoping to have.

Check out the updated menu on their website. We were disappointed that the menu no longer included a few of our faves, including the oyster shooters and steak tartare. We asked for oysters, as they were not listed on the menu. An east coast variety was available. We enjoyed a dozen with an excellent mignonette. The lobster pot pie was rich and delicious. Staff was friendly and casual. Cocktails and food were served in a timely manner. Tip the valet; he does a good job.

I had a feeling the fish wasn't right. It definitely wasn't right when I woke up with ONLY fish exiting my body at 2am. I'm sad to post this as I had probably the best scallop dish I've ever had. The fish course on the other hand smelled fishy when I ate it; I had reservations but ate it anyway.. and it was bad fish and here I am giving 1 star.

So glad we came! Very generous portions - we enjoyed the triple-cream brie, charred broccoli, ricotta gnudi, rabbit raviolio and pumpkin spice crème brulée, but probably could have skipped one of the shareables and still left satisfied. The bar mixed up a nice mocktail at my request and the birthday dessert was complimentary - never expected, always appreciated. Great service with many staff members present to fill water, deliver and clear dishes, etc. Highly recommend.

I’m not sure what I expected, but Third Coast surpassed my expectations. I love service that feels upscale but comfortable; it’s a fine line to tread, and I felt they were spot on and we felt like old friends. The wine list is top notch and Ty is super knowledgeable and the recommended pairings really enhanced the food, but he will steer you to more interesting options if you ask him. And the food is delicious! Pricey, but worth it with generously sized entrees. We enjoyed every bite!

James was one of the best waiters I have ever had - he was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and engaging. Very high level of expertise. We were so impressed.
We were also blown away by the food. The short ribs were a delight; I would never have thought to assemble a dish like that, but the flavors worked perfectly. The lobster pot pie is a staple for a reason. Elevated, yet comforting. Absolutely must try both.
We hope to come back and see James and experience the food again before we leave town!

5 hours after dining at third coast… thank you for the violent vomiting, and stomach cramps. Definitely would recommend staying away from the clam chowder and the short rib, not sure which one did me in, but not worth finding out. Debated giving an extra star for the service and atmosphere, but seeing as my head is literally over the toilet “its going to be a no for me dog”.

Service was decent. The drink menu was super strange, not enough classics, and not great execution on the ones they did offer. I ordered the whitefish, but I was brought the cod. They then made me an order of the whitefish. Cesar salad was strange and “deconstructed”. Oysters were good. Both scallops orders had to be sent back, way too salty. Side of roasted vegetables was salty. I would not recommend eating here, the food was not high quality enough to demand those prices in Milwaukee.

I was really disappointed with our experience here. We went for Valentine's Day, so they had a special limited menu. I will say that the service and ambiance of the restaurant were amazing, and we had high hopes. We ordered the ceviche and foie gras as starters. While the foie gras was amazing, the ceviche left much to be desired. The Scallop pieces in it were so small and poorly seasoned that all we tasted was tomato on the top. Pretty disappointing to pay $25 for some bland salsa.
For our entrees, we ordered the Lobster Pot Pie and the Surf 'n Turf. For the lobster pot pie, we were surprised they made a whole pot pie, and then just placed two small pieces of lobster on the top. It almost seemed like an after thought! The dish was so rich that my boyfriend had trouble finishing it. And was upset that his lobster had no flavor and was dry.
For the surf 'n turf, I loved the sides of potato and broccoli. However, it is never a good thing when you are wishing you just got potatoes and broccoli instead of lobster and steak! My steak was cooked well, but had little flavor. On top of the steak was a hollandaise sauce which tasted like nothing and seemed to have broken. I saved the lobster for last, so excited to finish with it, but my lobster was rubbery and had basically no flavor. I don't know if they ran out of seasoning while we were there, but that is what it seemed like!
For dessert, we got the lavender and honey creme brûlée, mainly because the apple one they were advertising on their menu online was out of season. I am a creme brûlée fanatic, so I was incredibly disappointed as we dug in and realized the dish tasted like soap. On top of that, the sugar topping was incredibly burnt, so you got no relief from that taste other than really burnt sugar.
It was definitely a swing and a miss for us, which is really unfortunate because we are usually pretty forgiving when it comes to food. The nail in the coffin was when we received the bill, and it was almost $250. I would have been fine paying this if we didn't have such an awful experience. We just got back from a trip to San Francisco where we spent tons of money on food, especially a seafood place in Fisherman's Wharf, and no place we went to there was as expensive as our trip here. We really love seafood and were hoping this would be our favorite place, but it left a lot to be desired. Kudos to the staff who was great and so friendly, I just wish your food tasted a little better!

I went to Third Coast Provisions on a Thursday night and it was pretty quiet! the service was great and the atmosphere is beautiful.
I started with a mezcal cocktail that was pretty good, then had a glass of red wine with dinner which was recommended by the bartender and was a great choice.
For an appetizer, we split the lobster potholes. They were creamy and delicious on the bread that came with!
As an entree, I ordered the salmon dish. It was definitely fresh and cooked perfectly. The sides were Brussels sprouts and homemade tater tots that were both just okay.
The others in my group got the short rib, black cod and ravioli. All of these I liked better than my salmon.
We also ordered dessert and got the peanut butter & banana dessert, and the lavender honey crème brûlée. For me, the crème brûlée was the star of the show, but I will warn that you definitely have to enjoy lavender flavor!
Overall, I had a good experience at Third Cost. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because you definitely pay a good amount for the food and drinks, and I was hoping to be blown away. I did not quite get there with my cocktail and entree.

We had a few slight hiccups with food, the staff was able to rectify the issues. All of the food was delicious. When dining in a pandemic one should always extend patience and grace. The overall service was superb. My meal ended with receiving all the desserts on the menu, which a pleasant surprise. This is a great spot for a date night, birthday, or anniversary. Will be back next time I’m in Milwaukee. Thank you again for the memorable experience.

I’m not even sure where to start with this place. My girlfriend and I had reservations for New Year’s Eve here for over a month, unfortunately we both got covid a few days before New Years and had to cancel. We still really wanted to eat here so I called to see about take out. They weren’t doing their normal take out or Uber eats since it was New Years but when I called and spoke to Ty the manager he went above and beyond to make sure our night wasn’t a complete bust. He was very accommodating and understood the situation. I feel that most restaurants would’ve just said “that sucks” and would’ve been annoyed about my call but not Ty. He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. It was a Pleasent surprise when I got home and he through in a bunch of freebies. Can’t recommend this place enough! We will for sure be back when we’re not sick!

First of all, let me say that the service and staff here were amazing and completely what we would expect from Third Coast and its previous reviews. The ambiance was delightful and according to our hostess, we had one of the best views in the restaurant, overlooking the entire space from atop the upper floor area. We are self described foodies and really look forward to restaurants that specialize in fish and seafood, as it can be expensive given the market these days. I have to be honest, there were a few let downs in my opinion as well as a couple of shining dishes. The bright spots... the Foie Gras was amazing! Brilliantly paired with the sourdough and the sauce didn't overpower the dish but let the Foie Gras come through... just excellent! We both really enjoyed the clam chowder, as well, however we ordered the bowl and they were kind enough to split it into two cups for us to share. Yet my cup was left wanting for any chunks of potato or bits of clam and I found myself asking for a spoonful of my spouse's cup as hers was laden with those delicious chunks of goodness... wishing maybe they stirred the pot before serving up my cup? The squash side dish was also a brilliant dish. I found the dish to be sweet and the perfect bite of crunch and mashy texture you'd expect from squash. It reminded me of holiday meals and candied yams! Now, for the not so good... we ordered the fried oyster sliders. These were not good. The bun overwhelmed the oyster, which disappeared in a sea of sauces and bread. You couldn't even taste the oyster at all. All I got was sauce, spicy but not a bad flavor and the dinner roll. My first bite also contained a decent sized portion of shell, which, in my opinion is a huge no-no when it comes to oysters, especially when its breaded and hard to see. That was disappointing. In addition, our entrees were underwhelming. We ordered the Black Cod, which came with entirely to much sauce... the Cod was sitting atop a bowl of this soupy sauce that should have been eaten with a spoon and not a fork. It was a green curry sauce but did not have the right flavor to be called a curry in our opinion. The white fish was simply steamed perhaps and placed atop the pile without any further attention. We also had the lobster pot pie. It came in a huge metal bowl and at first glance, appeared with three huge chunks of lobster tail in the center of this flaky, puff pastry ring. It really was a clam chowder soup underneath that ring and the only lobster to be found was what was sitting in the center. It had triangular chunks of roasted potato, carrots and clams and again, should have been eaten with a spoon rather than a fork. The puff pastry was good until you got to the bottom and you could tell it wasn't cooked all the way through. My spouse ordered the key lime tart and enjoyed those flavors. I attempted to order two other desserts and found they were both unavailable, which might be understandable as we had an after 7 pm reservation, but I was still disappointed not to be able to try those tasty looking treats...
