For a beautiful location, it was certainly a disappointing experience. When I arrived, there were blood stains on my sheets, the chair looked like it was covered in bodily fluids, and the whirlpool jets were surrounded with mildew. They did promptly bring me new sheets, and I changed them myself. I had to wait quite a bit of time to check in, because there was only one person working at the desk and she had to cover the ice cream sales and check in. I was there for a conference, and the other two people at my table, and myself, couldn’t even palate the coffee. Staff weren’t attentive to guest needs or welcoming. This is my second year in a row at this conference and the hotel was yet again disappointing. I definitely will not be making a trip back. Take your money elsewhere.

Stayed here with my wife for a weekend. This place pops with enthusiasm from employees. Every face was all smiles, especially Mike. The owners have a dream for three bears resort and the employees are helping to make it happen. Are there flaws? Sure, but what hotel or Resort doesn't have them?! You have to see the good in everything or you're doomed to be miserable your whole life and we saw that first hand here. The owners and employees are there to help make your stay be as good as possible. The only thing they lack is staff, but with what they do have and the team they have established makes it that much better. Some working long (14 hours+) and still as happy and uplifted as if it was their first day on the job. If you're looking to have an a amazing staff to help you with you're needs and not over crowded, this place is for you. If you needs things done immediately, then why the hell are you even on vacay? Relax and enjoy. The owners and employees will make it work for you, just have a little patience. My wife and I will be back, and are excited to see the same friendly faces that just want to please the customer. Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt and experience it for yourselves and if you're anything like us, you won't be disappointed.

This review was a LOT longer and in more detail, but couldn't post it due to length. My husband and I booked our stay for Oct 10th- Oct 12th 2025. We wanted to float the lazy river with some drinks in hand. When we showed up to check in, the place looked great, everything was close to each other (bar,, pool, reception, laser maze, and game room) well designed for a resort. We checked in, got our room (215) which was conveniently close to all the amenities. Our room was like most of the rooms you find in all hotels with the exception of very very comfortable beds. We have stayed at many resorts/hotels and NONE can compete with the beds. They felt like home. Oh, and not a single bed bug was found. They use zippered mattress protectors to help prevent them. After getting settled into our room, we ventured out to explore our weekend getaway and met Michael. I had read several reviews about him, but none of them really told me exactly what to expect. None of them could hold a candle to him and neither can mine. This man is 1000% devoted to three bears, and the customer. He is the absolute face of this place. He is like a glow stick in the dark. It's just enough light to get you through a tough situation and the kicker,, he is rarely not there. A very bubbly, energetic, and personable guy ADHD comes to mind😊 fantastic man.. I can't say enough about him. We continue onto the indoor pool, only to find the lazy river and slides are not working. Something to do with the city water. Didn't want to take the situation up with Michael, because he didn't deserve what I was going to say, but he insisted. He said he would work on something for us. Owner shows up and starts filling the slides, lazy river and wave pool. We are floating the next day with drinks in hand, no glass allowed and understandably. Jennifer is another face of the company. She went above and beyond fo us. Jen you're amazing for what you did for us and several others. Her breakfast is the best. Even got to talk with Sean (owner) who went the extra mile for us. He could of reimbursed us, as it would of been cheaper than filling the pools, we know this from owning a pool ourselves. It is a little understaffed as they try figuring things out, so patience is key and I can't express enough how worth it it is if youre patient. I have been in many hotels, but NONE that would go to these lengths to keep a few (2) happy. Every hotel has faults, but this place is trying and it shows. Give them some grace as it truly is a gem. I will be coming back to watch it grow and support the employees that call this place home. I sure hope those of you that read reviews, keep this one in mind.

We paid the extra $25 charge because we brought our dog. There was also another charge for $31 not sure why.

The hotel portion of the resort was clean and tidy. The rooms were spacious. The water park was frightening!! One of the lifeguards wore blue jeans with a belt, which is not ideal for lifesaving…another was too busy watching her iPhone that she was absolutely neglecting watching the kids swimming in the wave pool. On our way up the stairs to the waterslides, my fiancée stepped on a rusty screw that had come out of one of the stairs, upon further inspection, the stair board was able to be completely lifted up and moved so there was a LARGE space where someone could either get their leg stuck, or a small child could fall two stories down to a cement landing. Not to mention the 8+ dirty bandaids we saw laying around the waterpark, and trash that had been sitting out for some time. Half of the tubes for the waterslides were deflated and sitting in a pile, so if you could find one to use, avoid the rusty screws on your way up, dirty bandaids, and not fall through the stairs to plummet to your death, it was pretty fun!

Hotel room was clean, outside of the room there were a lot of maintenance needs. Ceiling tiles were falling apart, paint was looking like it needed to be fixed. Drywall above 3rd floor ice machine was falling and very disgusting looking. It was disappointing not being able to utilize the waterpark because it closed at 8. Cran Fest closed at 5:30, which we then had to eat dinner and were unable to enjoy the pool.

A group of friends rented "Romeo's Retreat -" Room 457 - it was a large cabin for a large number of people. Honestly, it was the worst place I have ever stayed. No towels, no toilet paper ( for 13 girls), no paper towel. The walls had dirt, blood, paint coming off. The floors were filthy. Bedding was disgusting. DO NOT STAY HERE. In addition, the grass wasn't cut...around the fire pit. The freezer and fridges had crust all over. It was a nightmare. We called the front desk many times for supplies, etc. Nothing ever came. You looked out the window and there was garbage all over, random shoes, junk, etc. The issue is to is some people rent the places next to you - garbage all over in their front yards, broken down cars, etc. Do not stay here.

Give Michael a raise, he’s a swell guy. And the front desk girl, she gave us a phone number for a cab driver when we couldn’t get a cab/uber- she’s also great!

Hotel staff are rude and more concerned about their conversations than helping customers. Shampoo bottle in bathroom was empty. Only 2 tissues in tissue box. 3 sinks in our room (family room) only one bar of soap.

During check in- there was a bunch of confusion. Seemed like nobody working knew what they were doing.
We were here for a 2 night stay. We arrived Friday and the service in the bar was awful.. the bartender was all over the place, a patron from the bar had to jump behind the bar to simply help him with drink orders. (There were 2 tables and maybe 6-7 ppl sitting at the bar) Food was impossible to order because the bartender never attended to us, we left and went to the restaurant down the road. The next morning we had the buffet, it was average nothing special. We attempted the bar that evening and it was the exact same service it was almost like we were invisible. This time we didn’t even get served so we left, we never were able to get food or attempt to place an order the entire weekend. (Only saw the same 1 employee working the bar and breakfast the entire weekend — poor guy needs a raise, seemed very very understaffed especially for cranberry festival weekend ) Hot tub was closed (few of us were looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub at night) The patios are full of wasps (couldn’t use the balcony because of this) limited parking available (otherwise have to park way down by the ramp) Also seemed like the hotel was a ghost town, saw a few groups but the villas seemed to be more popular with lots of people. Lots of upgrading needs to be done. Place could use a deep clean. Level 1 smelled like mildew, mold and very musty. My fiance came here many times as a child and said this place has gone down hill majorly and it doesn’t even seem like the same place. It’s a bummer but we won’t be back.

Honest Review – This Place Has Gone Downhill
I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others before they book.
The Three Bears Lodge has gone down significantly in quality.
Yes, credit where it’s due—the addition of grab-and-go drinks and snacks at the front desk is a smart move. But unfortunately, that’s about the only positive I can give.
Arcade Room – It’s sweltering hot, easily over 100 degrees. It’s humid, uncomfortable, and located right above the water park. You’ll sweat while playing, and good luck getting anything decent unless you dump in $200 for a few tootsie rolls.
Temperature Everywhere – The whole building is uncomfortably warm, and it doesn't feel like the AC is working properly in common areas.
Elevator – It jolts, shakes, and honestly feels unsafe. I’m shocked it hasn’t gotten stuck yet.
Ice Machines & Water Damage – Above the ice machines, water damage is so bad that pieces are falling off onto the machine itself.
Incense Burning – The smell is overpowering and nauseating. Not sure why this is being used throughout the place.
Room Cleanliness – Our room was disgusting. We found old dates, crusty socks, random hair ties, clips, and hair everywhere. Totally unacceptable. The shower handle fell off and the door does not have a safety latch.
Parking – There’s not enough of it, and if you park in front of the building, the cabin staff will come yell at you.
General Property Condition – Mattresses on the road, moldy old chairs left in the rain, broken signage just patched instead of replaced, and windows where you can see rooms stacked with old mattresses. It’s a mess.
Now for the only positive:
Michael, the restaurant manager – This man is a saint. He worked from 6 AM to 4 AM the next day, then came back again with a great attitude. He was running around making things happen and being honest about staffing and service. He was the one bright spot during Cranfest. Give this man a raise and some support.
Final Thoughts – Whoever is running this place needs to be replaced. The decline isn’t just because of short staffing—there’s a clear lack of care and management. At this rate, I don’t see The Three Bears lasting long unless major changes are made or new ownership steps in.

PROS: Room was clean. Noise wasn't bad. Beds were very comfortable. Hot dogs and French fries at 1878 restaurant delicious. Staff friendly.
CONS: No maid service, had to ask for clean towels and washcloths for four (only gave us towels for two people although it was a double queen room), didn't empty garbage, had to put it in the bigger garbage bin by vending machines), no bags for garbage, the Pub was supposed to be open but wasn't, hot tub was shut down (during Cranberry Fest), and the icing on the top was the lifeguard at the Waterpark was SLEEPING IN HER CHAIR WHILE PEOPLE WERE IN THE POOL (I did post a picture).

Even with all that, yes I would stay here again. :)

We stayed the weekend of the 20/21 of sept 2025. We arrived a bit early that was good they let us check in right away which was nice. When we got to our room, there were toenails on the floor of the bathroom, the bedspread was dirty with hair and black chunks of something on it. Flys and mosquitoes in the room. They fixed the bed or so I thought but when we went to bed after swimming the fitted sheet was only on 1/2 of the bed!!!! The floors are dirty, cracked in the main hallways. The restaurant is not what a resort should be. They didn’t have lids for the coffee cups, no breakfast other than dry cereal that you’ve got to buy. Also the bar wasn’t open, they have a huge way to make $$ with a really nice bar restaurant right there and they’re not utilizing it.

The swimming and water park are good, but one of the pools wasn’t working and there doesn’t appear to be much upkeep.

Overall when paying a premium price for a resort, and having to travel to the middle of no where, much more is needed to be offered and included. We won’t be back unfortunately.

Even years later it’s absolutely disgusting that this resort destroyed a legendary midwestern skatepark for a mini golf course. Whoever made that choice and bulldozed the bowl deserves to step on legos every day. I will never support 3 bears resort or any jellystone resort again and will go out of my way to tell people to not support them.

Pretty run down. Room was not cleaned well. Cobwebs all over. Floors were really dirty. Upstairs shower didn’t work. Microwave didn’t have a plate. Wood was chipping outside. The water park was ok, the water temp was nice, great place for kids. But for the amount of money for the villa we stayed at, we were disappointed.

There were a number of disappointing issues that impacted our family visit. First off, there was immediate disappointment upon arrival. Earlier in the week, I was informed that the water park would be available for use prior to check-in time, but it was not open when we arrived. We had to spend several hours running errands to kill time until check-in. When we were finally able to check in, we were told our room had actually been ready the entire time - they just didn’t know it was clean and available.

Unfortunately, even once we got to our Villa, I wouldn’t describe it as clean. Some bed sheets had visible dirt and had to be washed, and there was built-up grime on air vents, walls, and countertops. The bathrooms were in poor condition, with compromised functionality and mismatched toilet seats that made it difficult for our children to use them comfortably.

The quality of the bed frames and mattresses was extremely poor. Any movement caused loud creaking noises and shaking, making it nearly impossible to sleep with anyone else in the bed or even in the same room. In the upstairs level, there were table lamps placed on the floor randomly and the dining area lacked adequate seating for the number of guests the villa is meant to accommodate.

Basic amenities were also missing, no hand soap or shampoo/conditioner in some bathrooms, no dishwasher soap, or extra trash bags were provided.

While the front desk staff were friendly, the lifeguards appeared unprofessional, wearing jeans and sweatshirts, which raised concerns about their certification and ability to respond in an emergency. During our visit, some of the main lights in the pool area were off, making it very dark and potentially unsafe. The pool area itself needed cleaning and repairs, including missing bolts from the protective netting around the kiddie slides, which were left lying in the wading pool.

We also had a poor experience at the on-site restaurant. The employee who took our pizza order told us to return in 15 minutes, but when we did, the order wasn’t ready and was missing an entire pizza we had already paid for. He was unable to process a refund through the POS system and instead gave us cash back, saying he would figure it out later.

Lastly, many of the arcade games - which our kids were excited to use - were broken or out of order.

Overall, this was a disappointing experience for our family, and we won’t be returning.

We booked a stay for both my children's birthdays.
We've stayed there in the past. This time, when we reserved through the actual hotel, not a 3rd party, I was not informed pretty much EVERYTHING the hotel offers was closed due to "staffing" issues.
The front desk gal was rude, can't give you a name.
The indoor/outdoor hot tub was closed, the pool bar was closed, the pub was closed, they never opened for breakfast because a cook didn't show up, so when we asked the front desk if we could just buy some muffins, she said it wasn't her job! $250 for a glorified pool and bed to sleep in. Zero information provided in the rooms. There was an old package of "dehydrated chicken" in the dresser drawer.
***The ONLY thing that was good was Michael, the bar/restaurant manager. *** He tried being in 4 places at once. Attempted to run the "restaurant" - which, let's be honest, it's a concessions stand at best!!, Attempted to open the pub. He TRIED so hard to make up for everyone else adamantly not helping. He was hard to track down because of this and the wait was.. annoying. Had to enjoy a getaway.... at a "resort". As far as staffing, there were plenty of people sitting around. I'm assuming life guards waiting to cycle in, but it's not rocket science to run a register. CROSS TRAIN PEOPLE. And since when do life guards wear jeans and tennis shoes while on duty?!
I truly don't know if we'll go back. We loved it in the past, but this was the OPPOSITE experience.

Hello today I was here for a birthday party and stayed over night. When we got to the room the place looked nice at first. Later in the day we checked our feet and they are all dirty and gross(would recommend socks) the pillows are ok. Bed are creaky a lot when slightly moved. Indents and color spots in the walls. You also have to paid for everything like getting in water park and breakfast that is 79$ all together. Mattress is too small for some people. The middle piece in the ladder are all crooked and the bed moves by it self when slightly touched. I would not recommend this place for anyone.

Lower your expectations…. Then lower them again!

Stayed Labor Day weekend after reading recent reviews and adjusting my expectations accordingly. Even with that mindset, we were disappointed and ended up leaving early.

* False advertising: We chose this weekend because both indoor and outdoor amenities were listed as open. Upon arrival, outdoor was closed for the season and the indoor/outdoor hot tub was completely out of commission.
* Volleyball area: Trash in the sand, deflated ball, rusted nails sticking out of the referee stand—unsafe and neglected.
* Room: Spacious, but floors were dirty. Bring sandals. Patio screen was broken, so bugs and bees made it unusable.
*Dining: Only one restaurant open. Breakfast was unreliable—sometimes no staff, sometimes broken equipment.
* Game room: Broken machines, no air circulation, hot and humid.
* Laser tag: “Free” use, but most lights and lasers didn’t work.
* Water park: Decent for kids under 12, but lifeguard supervision was concerning. Most were disengaged—reading, sleeping, or zoning out. Only one seemed attentive. A supervisor had to repeatedly tell a lifeguard to patrol the kiddie pool, and he still didn’t move.

The one consistent positive? Hot coffee—most of the time.

We went to three bears for a family reunion and when we arrived our room was ready. We went up to the room and immediately noticed that the sheets had lipstick on them. I went to the front desk to ask for the sheets to be changed and they said they would. 5 hours later we went back to our room and nothing had been done. I called the front desk and asked again if the sheets could be changed and even asked if we could come down and get sheets. We got sheets from the front desk and they were the complete wrong size. Additionally, family that was staying in the adjoining room didn’t have soap, shampoo, or conditioner and the mini fridge was leaking water everywhere.

Sadly, this place is not what I thought it would be and just appears run down and not managed well. We probably won’t be staying again.

Wish I could give 0 stars. The room was absolutely filthy! A few minutes after arriving we noticed there was a BAT in the room. After telling the staff, they laughed and said “we thought there was a little bugger around here!” as if they are aware of the issue and do not care. If we did not find the bat before turning off the lights and sleeping, it could have been an extreme health hazard to our family of 5. Their initial response to the issue was getting us a new room instead of a refund. We ended up leaving at midnight and got a room at a Holiday Inn Express 10 minutes away which was clean with amazing staff. Waterpark and everything else inside the resort was also closed. Do not stay here!

We drove an hour to celebrate my kiddos birthday with a daily pass to the water park. We checked the calendar on their website multiple times leading up to the day and the morning before we left home. The calendar consistently said the water park opened at 10am. We arrived a little after 10am. We were told the water park was closed until 4pm and they didn’t have lifeguards to open it. There was another family waiting there as well. The biggest silver lining of the place was the staff- the front desk staff were very nice and did everything they could so we could still enjoy the water park. They also discounted our passes. After waiting a while, one of the ladies at the front desk took over life guarding so we could enjoy the small kiddo area of the water park. While we were playing more staff arrived, allowing us to try out the wave pool, which was fun. After a little under 2 hours, a different life guard was walking around and told us the water park was closing in 5 minutes. No information was given on why or if/when it would be opening back up. My kiddo was really disappointed they couldn’t keep playing. We were cleaning up when they shut the lights off while we were still in the park. Even though our passes were discounted, it was still frustrating to not have an explanation. We went into the locker rooms to change, there was a used tampon in the corner of one of the showers. That really tipped the scales on a truly bizarre experience. We won’t be returning.

Disgusting rooms, disgusting waterpark. Waterpark said open at 10, guy rolled in around 11 to open. Door to the waterpark was unlocked before attendant even got there, indicating it wasn’t locked at all overnight. Unsafe if a child would have entered after hours. Lifeguards closed at 1pm without more than a 5 minute notice and he brought his buddies with him for his shift. Wasn’t concerned about the patrons at all. Will not recommend to anyone.

Your waterpark hours are 10-8. Your lifeguards don’t know what 10am means. No one was around and the door was UNLOCKED without an attendant. Unsafe for children. They closed the waterpark at 1pm, without warning, after only opening at 11:00am. I’m pretty positive I paid the same amount anyone would, for the waterpark to be open from the time stated on the website. Unsafe practices, would not recommend to anyone with small children. Please just spend the extra money to go to the dells!

Booked the resort off old recommendation’s without reading the most recent reviews. Everything we read was accurate. Most notably was the disappoint in the lack of attention and awareness by the lifeguards. Only one was actually walking their area and alert. We witnessed one life guard receive instruction from a supervisor three times and it had no affect. 2/3 of the property was closed, broken, or unsafe. We checked out a day early on Labor Day weekend. We were prepared to provide a whole list of reasons why we should receive a refund but no questions were asked when we requested the early check out and refund.

Our family recently stayed at 3 Bears Resort, and while we had some fun, the stay wasn’t what we expected. The villa itself had plenty of space, and we made great memories outside the resort renting UTVs and a pontoon boat. But the resort experience fell short in several ways.

It is a dog friendly resort, but when we asked the staff where specifically our puppy was able to go, she just shrugged her shoulders. Literally her answer, and then just stood there.

Both of the bathrooms in or villas had toilets leaking at the base, so the first issue we ran into was towels. When we asked the front desk for towels to shower the next day, we were told we should be washing our own. That was the first time we even learned we had access to a washer and dryer. We searched our villa top to bottom before finally discovering them hidden behind doors in the commons hallway — a very uncomfortable and awkward setup we never would have thought to check. It would have been nice to know about this ahead of time. It was inconvenient to have to do extra washing and gross that we were made to use the towels that were collecting the bathroom water.

The indoor water park was also very dark and gloomy, not the bright, cheerful atmosphere we expected for the kids. We did like the idea of the lazy river flowing through the wave pool — it was unique and fun at first — but it didn’t work well for our group. Our family dynamic had a handicapped senior and a not so strong swimmer, they weren’t able to just relax in their tubes because each time the current carried them into the wave pool, they needed assistance navigating back into the lazy river. What should have been easy and relaxing ended up stressful for them.

The game room was horrible. You started to sweat the second you walked in and the fan was broken. The games were either not working or stole your tokens before the game started or during game play. We were not able to stand the temperature in there after a couple of minutes.

On top of that, several of the window screens in our villa had holes, so we couldn’t open the windows or doors without letting in bugs. And when we checked out, no one asked how our stay was — which really gave the impression that guest feedback isn’t a priority here.

We had a good time as a family because we made the most of it, but overall the resort itself was disappointing. With some much-needed updates, better communication, and more attention to the guest experience, this place could be fantastic.

I’m going to start with the most serious concerns from our stay

Lifeguards spent the entire time on their phones, even the life guard at the wave pool. Wave pools can be dangerous and drown people quickly, so it’s really important to have attentive life guards at the wave pool.

(Message to any lifeguards there that may be reading this: I understand ownership doesn’t care. And they don’t care if you’re on your phone or whatever, and I don’t blame you for not being enthusiastic when you’re not working for people who actually give a crap, but, lifeguards can be and have been criminally charged in drowning/near drowning incidents. Working here is a huge liability on yourself if you are not adequately supervising the area you’re assigned to. Do yourself a favor and find different employment before a disaster happens and your employer throws you under the bus)

Chunks of concrete missing from the stairs in the waterpark and just laying there for anyone to trip on.

Then the cleanliness.. we were greeted by trash everywhere in the parking area, like a bag of garbage exploded and no one bothered to clean it up.

the waterpark floor was truly filthy. Wet debris all over including a discarded birth control patch that laid in the same spot near the hot tub during both days of our stay.

This then extended into the locker rooms which were disgusting as well as completely out of toilet paper.

Trash piled up on the hallways for the entirety of our stay, unknown substances dripping down the walls…

Our room was okay, but clearly not deeply cleaned.

The amenities were nonexistent. Everything was closed or non functional. We ended up having to go to Tomah to eat because the resort didn’t actually have any options. The kids wanted some of the prepackaged dip n dots, but they were all at one point fully melted then froze back together in a brick. Yeah, no thanks. We had planned to stay on site the entire duration of our stay and keep our money there, but it just wasn’t even possible. We ended up getting some yogurt and fruit and lunch items for the next day rather than relying on being able to purchase at the resort.

Signs all over pointed to supposed amenities and when we’d walk over there it would be closed or very clearly not even operational.

The outdoor waterpark was not operating despite the website stating it would be at the time of booking our stay. The few tubes in the indoor waterpark were all halfway deflated.

The arcade was very small and extremely HOT and stuffy with half of the machines non operational. The lazer maze was also not working properly.

Overall; it was gross and everything was run down, closed, or simply not operational any longer. We wanted to love this place as it’s a shorter distance than we typical go for this type of stay, but we will NOT be returning.

Breaker went out in our room, took 45 mins for someone to turn it on.
No bedding for sofa bed, main bedroom flooded - because maintenance took HVAC out and replaced with portable unit and tried to vent to outside with a hose. (Didn't work) covered hole in wall with vent cover, cold air came in room and could hear lots of noise from the outside.
Bed had metal part sticking out from bed frame because box frame and bed wasn't put together correctly- husband scaped foot and tore skin.
Restaurant was terrible only 1 worker to take orders and cook. 35 mins to get order taken, 40 mins to get food, eggs not cooked correctly & burnt, hash browns burnt, omelet over cooked and brown, pointed out food didn't look good to f&b manger said one egg is cooked right (it wasn't and didn't offer to make new food). F&b manager asked how food was said not good-his comment was it did look good when I made it and said I guess breakfast is on me. I talked to front desk manger and she order our fama large pretzel from door dash and paid for it out of her pocket.
Changed room for 2nd night found rotting orange and garbage around pull out couch.
Front desk was not able to compensate me, ask me to email the owner with pictures. I emailed the owner on Sunday with pictures morning the owner to reach out to me. Still have not heard back from the owner and the front desk hadn't heared anything from the owner when we checked out.

Don’t waste your time or money. When driving in past the cabins, there was garbage everywhere, it looked liked nobody cleans outside to keep it looking nice.
Walking to our room from the parking there was what looked to be a liquid spilled down the walls in the hallway. Garbages were overfilling with fruit flies, and it was just overall run down.
We got a family room with two bunk beds, a kitchenette, and a king bed. The room seemed and looked like it was quickly wiped down and nothing more. The floors were dirty - there were food crumbs, wrappers all over the whole room. The microwave wasn’t even cleaned from the previous guests. When we called the front desk they didn’t offer to do anything for it.
The “restaurant” in the resort - don’t waste your time. We waited over an hour for a pepperoni pizza, burger and chicken tenders. Our order was wrong, and honestly school food is better. We did get a refund thankfully. There was a live band the first night we were there, it was horrible. The day we checked out, we got fries and tator kegs, the fries were good but the tator kegs were still slightly frozen and cold in the middle. Take the 5 minute drive and go to The Pines!

The water park was meh- definitely more for little kids which is good. The tubes to use were basically all deflated, there was garbage laying around in the water park. All the guards just seemed like they didn’t want to be there. We always had to wait half an hour for pool towels for our kids. The lockers were not clean-gross, dark and not taken care of.

Location was good, room was a good size but nasty dirty- the floors even turned out feet brown. Service, what service? They were short staffed everywhere and nobody seemed to be friendly or want to help.
This was our first time at The Three Bears and will be our last.

If I could give a zero I would. This is like the 3rd or 4th time we have stayed at this resort. There are so many things that make me give this review the lowest possible score.
Room was fairly dirty with dirty sheets.
There was clearly not enough employees working here. The pub wasn't open on a Friday night because the person that runs the pub didn't show up for work (advised to us by the front desk). When we asked if it was going to be open on Saturday we were told "it should be". While it was opened none of the tv's were on, the women running the bar said she normally isn't the one that runs the bar and if we wanted food we'd have to go order through the restaurant. No music playing, nothing. Like it was opened just because. When a group of people came in the women running the bar said she really couldn't do a lot and they left. It sounded like there wasn't much on tap. As far as the water park, one of the Jacuzzis was not in service and we were advised that it was going to cost $20k and they couldn't afford to fix it. Not only was it empty, it was extremely dirty. The water levels on the pools and lazy river were pretty low. The first lifeguard we saw was fully clothed and dribbling a basketball. (Clearly looked like he was not paying attention and definitely wasn't going in after anyone drowning). The restaurant or place to grab some snacks and drinks in the water park was not occupied and looked fairly abandoned. They used to make specialized coffee drinks up front. They no longer have this but have a few self serve coffee pots. We went to play on the miniature golf course on the property. Didn't realize it was $10 a person. There was 5 of us. When we asked about a scorecard the person at the front desk said they didn't have scorecards and offered us a pad of paper. The property clearly isn't being taken care of. The water out back around the mini golf course has a ton of algae and is very nasty. Outside in the parking lot there was garbage all over the place including a stroller that was upside down with garbage all around it. Overall this property has seriously declined since we were there last which was only about a year ago. The sign says upgrades made but this is definitely not the case, in fact its the opposite of whats going on.

Horrible experience and we didn’t even make it through check in. We received three rooms - all dirty! The first room was hot & the air didn’t work. Pillows had no pillow cases & hair all over bathroom floor. The second room was unkempt and had someone else’s belongings in the dresser drawer. The third room had crumbs and wrappers in the living area.

I would NOT recommend this and will never be back. Do not stay here. Spend your money elsewhere and go somewhere nice.

Our first room was not cleaned very well. In the bathroom was two clumps of black hair on the floor by the tub and a price tag that was cut off a shirt. Blanket and pillow case on one of the beds had brown stains on it. Front desk moved us to another room after a few trips down to them and we got all settled only to have no tv remotes. Room was smoky smelling and humid.

We rented two villas for a family vacation. Neither villa was cleaned well. We had to wipe everything down and our cloths were black. Hair in the bathroom sink, crumbs on the floor, etc. There were weeds overgrown so badly they covered the window view. On the first night my son woke up because of bites and we discovered 4 of the beds were full of bed bugs. The resort did very little to ammend the situation. They only provided alternative lodging for the boys who had bugs in their bed. Meanwhile four other people had to stay in the villa with the bugs. They took our clothes to wash and we waited over 36 hours to get it back. The last night the other villa had a bat in the loft where the little kids slept.
The entire place was in disrepair and dirty. Lots of litter and broken equipment. We witnessed the maintenance man littering on several occasions.
Stay away- it's not what it once was.

This was the worst hotel I have stayed at. The rooms were not clean, the public restrooms were dirty and all out of toilet paper and paper towels, the air conditioning didn’t work. We brought these concerns up and were told there was nothing they could do. We were there for a wedding as well and I fully believe the couple deserves a full refund as their experience was awful. I guarantee no guest at that wedding would ever recommend an event or stay at that hotel.

Absolutely horrible experience. All started with an outrageous unexpected "resort fee". After spending way to much, we realized that the outdoor Waterpark was gonna be closed for the day, aswell as the only bar on the resort. Got to out room, to find the bathroom door completely locked. After getting another room, with crumbs an a bandaid on the floor with random wires on the floor from the A/C unit that barely worked. An after picking off several hairs from our bed. We decided to go to the Waterpark. Waterpark was decent. Just sucked outdoor part was closed due to "lack of staff". We then decided we would go mini golfing on there extremely small, not well put together course. Expecting it to definitely be included with your stay, to find out it was 10$ a person. Absolutely ridiculous! We then took our daughter to the arcade. An after spending WAY to much on a playing card, we then realized that over half the arcade games were out of order!...this place is an absolute waste of money, go to the dells an go anywhere else. Three bears lodge truly sucks unfortunately. I've been there in the past an thought it was a great place, but I guess it is under new ownership, an it's obvious they do not care about it.

Positive: Staff and amenities were good. Negative: The only available air conditioning at this resort was in the actual individual rooms. The lobby, eating areas, game rooms, etc. were very hot, it was cooler being outside. Indoor pool was fine, but won't stay in summer again.

The big takeaway (despite, unfortunately, our best efforts) was that our villas had bed bugs. While this can happen anywhere, it was not particularly surprising given the overall lack of cleanliness that we encountered when we arrived. We'd been here previously and had a decent if not stellar experience. This time was much worse. Many things were dirty and there was a lot in disrepair (which is really unfortunate considering that, with a little bit of money, this place could be a really solid stay). The biggest issue, of course, was the bed bugs, something we are still waiting for the resort to address. In short the service is bad and the cleanliness is worse. I cannot recommend highly enough that you find another place to stay.

We brought this to the attention of the front desk and manager: dirty rooms (3 of 4). Breakfast (party of 16) had to be canceled after order was placed and we waited an hour due to staff shortage. We ordered pizza and wings the night before and they were great! Pool area was great fun but the SOME of the lifeguards were inattentive in their areas and others were “eagle eye” like. The kids always like the arcade (I gave each grandchild (9) $40 =$360.00 and the redemption sight for purchasing prizes did not work & they were not able to redeem points ☹️

I called to verify before my stay about the room I booked online and the front desk person confirmed it was a villa, but there was a leak in the room and to call back tomorrow to see what she could find out about it because she didn't want to put me in a room with a leak, I called back the next day like she asked me to and she said it was all good to go for my stay. Upon arriving we notice when we walked in the door a 5 gallon bucket in the walkway with a dripping ceiling where the drywall was peeling away and it was all moldy. the ceiling dripped the entire stay.

Long story short-- don't stay in the Villa's. I have come to this hotel for 10+ years off and on. We stayed in August of 2025. We had water pouring from the ceiling, bloody and dirty sheets, broken bed, a broken dishwasher that smelled like vomit and to top it all off a bat flying around diving at us. Front desk doesn't answer the phone- we had to drive to it to get help or call 4+ times. Ended our stay early.

First I want to say this review has nothing to do with the staff. Everyone we talked to tried to make things right and help in any way they could. Lexi and Mike you two are AMAZING and you both deserve way better than this place has to offer you. You both are the reason this place is still running and I wish the owners could see that.

The hotel is horrible! The place is extremely under staffed. The workers can’t keep up. We were there for a wedding this past weekend and there was no air conditioning in the ball room area, getting ready rooms, or hall ways. The elevator was out when we first arrived. We had multiple people in our group that had to change rooms because of no air conditioning in them. We thought this was something that just happened but come to find out they have not had air since March.

Getting breakfast there was a joke. We were told that the chief was too backed up so getting food was not an option. Seeing the dirtiness in the place I’m kind of glad we didn’t eat the breakfast. I can only imagine what that kitchen looks like.

This is only a few things that happened unfortunately… If you are planning on booking a trip here I would not. Save your money.

We rented Vila 457 from this company. Upon arrival a hole in ceiling had tape over to patch it. There was water continuinously dripping into a 5 gallon bucket placed on the floor to catch it, that we had to dump. The Vila also has no toilet paper, no blankets, dirty bed sheets, no trash bags, dirty floors with dead bugs. The couchs had rips all the way through the cushions. The dishwasher was filled with dirty dishes with mold growing on them. We asked to talk management several times and we told someone would call, noone did. We then were told by other guest management was there so we went to speak with him, he said all he would do is give us $50 off. Then he proceeded to walk away and not speak with us regarding the issue. Do not stay at this accommodation, I can't call it a business because they don't handle issues properly.

Where to start. Lexi at front desk attempted to assist and was very pleasant. 1st we were told we were guaranteed an early check-in: 10:30am. I even offered to pay if needed as we were traveling. Got here - no early check-in. They told us that we were given wrong info. Lexi then booked my friend and I in adjoining rooms. Went to those rooms - had not been cleaned. Back down to front desk. We have 2 carts loaded with our families items. Lexi then booked us in different rooms that she said were not adjoining and 1 had balcony - mine. Got to those rooms. They were adjoining and I did not have a balcony but our friend did. We were here for a wedding. No air conditioning in the wedding hall. That is where dinner and dancing was held too. Miserable as it was humid. Filthy hotel. The sheets on the bed - not sure if they were changed. Slept on couch. Will not be back.

We stayed for a couple nights in the hotel to do a quick getaway for some waterpark time. The room was clean, but said it would have a microwave and didn't. Beds were comfortable. The temperature control wasn't great. Wall unit with static settings (low cool, etc.) wish the thermostat functioned better. The room stayed cool enough for us, but the resort itself was hot everywhere. No AC, and the hottest area was the arcade. We were dripping sweat trying to use up the credits we purchased. Many of the games were out of order too, but we still had fun. The waterpark had a fair amount of things not working either. It's showing it's age for sure. But we still had fun. We didn't try the mini golf, but it's not being run from the mini golf area. Actually, most of the activities advertised are kind of a let down. The Lazer maze was set on free mode which we were excited about, but we found out it was free because it's not functioning properly. There's a bear cubs room, that seems like it used to be fun activities for kids, but was closed. Everything outside as we went for walks, seemed to be in some varying state of disrepair. The parking ramp made us wonder if we really were supposed to park there, and signage is for old things that don't exist anymore, it point you in opposite directions, and can be confusing to navigate. The website makes it seem like there's five places to get food on-site, but there's only one, and it's serving basically fast-food. Slow, fast-food. The food for lunch wasn't bad, and the cheese curds are awesome. But breakfast took a long time to get, and we were the only customers there. The eggs were over done and over seasoned, the hash browns were dry, the toast wasn't done enough. The sausage and bacon was fine, but we really weren't impressed with breakfast on site. We had hoped it would be a quick stay where we could enjoy all the fun activities and not have to go elsewhere for food, but that was not the case. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it is pet friendly which came in very handy for us, but overall it doesn't seem well run for such a large facility. We had fun, but it was full of opportunities where I would expect better for the price. I would stay here again, but make sure you lower your expectations quite a bit before you go.

Over charged. Was told by front desk manager they would get back to me. Contacted the general manager who apologized and said they would correct it and get back to me. Not correction in the charge no returned call.
Changing rooms were dirty with used sanitization products on the floor for multiple days in a row. Fridge leaked on the floor.
They did not inform of an increase of price, charged card without approval and avoided correcting their error. This location does not care about quest experience.

Absolutely disgusting place. Walked into our Foxtail Villa and immediately noticed the floors were full of dirt (after we told receptionist about this during checkout she stated that there was nothing they can do about those floors because they just attract dirt and never stay clean?! We mopped them when we got there, kept them clean for our 3 night, 4 day stay, and we have the BLACK TOWELS to prove it!!), so you’re welcome for us doing your job.
The lightbulbs were flickering in one downstairs bathroom, only one set of lights worked in the master bathroom, and the upstairs bathroom, I kid you not, had NO FLUSHER!! We called FIVE TIMES the first afternoon to let someone know, with no answer. We stopped into the hotel the first morning to tell them in person, and all they did was “make a note” in the maintenance log. When asked how long it would take to get someone there to put a flusher on, she said she wasn’t sure but hopefully soon. Well no surprise, no one showed up our entire stay, so we had no workable toilet in the upstairs bathroom which was super fun at night having to trudge downstairs to use someone else’s bathroom! Oh also, the hot water didn’t work in the upstairs shower, even after letting it run for 10 minutes. And yes, I timed it after I realized something was wrong.
There were also very few blankets of one were to get cold or to even use the pull-out couches, and the upstairs beds had no sheets!! We had the fitted sheet and a super thin “quilt” if you can call it that.
Back porch is pretty dangerous to kids. Boards sticking up all over causing tripping hazards, and if you even slide your foot an inch you’ll get splinters.
This place could be such a wonderful resort but unfortunately it’s super rundown and dirty, and no one seems to care! Honestly, the cost per night should be $50 with what we experienced.
Moving onto the “water park” portion. Apparently both indoor and outdoor pools/slides are closed on Tuesdays, which would’ve been nice to know upon booking. Yes, it is stated in the calendar, but I can probably count on one hand the amount of people who look at the events calendar before booking their stay. This should be clearly stated somewhere DURING the online booking process. So we had two full days there and couldn’t even utilize the pool which is essentially what we came for. The pools/slides themselves are run down as well. The nets to keep people away from the bottoms of the slides are broken, and they’re just draped in the water; the paint is chipping off the pool floor and slides; most of the tubes meant for the lazy river and wave pool were starting to deflate.. and then you have the outdoor pool area. Such a weird set up to have to go completely outside and search for where to go to get to the entrance since it’s not connected and there are no signs that we saw. We just had to walk out the doors and wander down a path in our swimsuits and hope we would find it.. very odd. The outdoor pool itself was fine, although not much to it. We didn’t go down any of the outdoor slides so I can’t say anything towards that.
It was just overall a very disappointing experience, and we won’t be back. We’ll be telling everyone not to visit this could-be great place because of the uncleanliness and horrible customer service we experienced. Very sad and 100% not worth the cost! Waste of money and waste of time.

When we asked for a different room, they told us we had to leave immediately or there was nothing they could do, but we couldn’t do that because there was food in the fridge and a sleeping baby and we couldn’t just pack everything up and go to a different room right then and there. They told us the most they could do was give us new sheets. On top of everything else, there was a bat on the ceiling inside of the Room we stayed in will not be back. We've stayed here a couple times during winter break before and it was always fun. A cheaper option compared to WI Dells. Well, we decided to stay this past weekend and it was just okay. Nothing great. I've heard theres new owners and I'm not sure if its better or worse.

The outdoor waterpark wasn't even open on Saturday so that was very disappointing. Our kids were looking forward to it.

The indoor waterpark could use some updating and more tubes that are actually inflated. There's maybe 5 good tunes that are actually blown up. The worst thing is that there's an air compressor right by the end of the tube slides that would take an employee a few minutes to blow them all up but instead they just sit on their phones or sleep.

The game room was hotter than heck and a handful of games did not even work. The games that did work were fun though.

We did not try the food there as every time we went to go check out the menu, there wasn't anybody at the counter. We ended up running to Tomah to get food & ordering pizza from the restaurant right down the road.

The rooms were nice and clean. The beds are decent. And they also have a fridge & microwave so thats a big plus.

All in all, we'd probably go again and just pack some food/drinks with us this time.

We rented one of the private villas so this review is strictly about the Waterpark and the hotel team members. Theresa at the front desk was AMAZING, we spoke with her when we bought our Waterpark passes. The Waterpark itself was ok, but there were almost no tubes for the lazy river or slides. We paid $150 for a cabana for the day I was shocked that the Waterpark staff didn't even help open it up or get it setup. The cabana was dirty, clearly hadn't been cleaned since it's last use. Tv was unplugged and we had to figure out how to turn fan & light on. For $150/day you'd expect to at least have a mini fridge with water, and at minimum have a clean cabana with some assistance getting it opened up. The Waterpark staff was clueless on what to do when I gave them my cabana receipt. Definitely not worth $150!! Theresa was a shining star at this resort and that's after she worked two double shifts! Always had a smile and a friendly conversation waiting to greet us. The new owners need to step their game up otherwise the reputation of this resort will go down hill fast.

The hotel room was nice - I had to ask for a microwave. The lobby, game room and only restaurant open when we were there was so hot that it was uncomfortable. The game room took most of our money and didn’t let us play the games. The only restaurant open (even tho online it said the pub was going to open at 5 and didn’t) didn’t have a kids food selection. The person working the 2 times we ate was young, and could tell she could use more training. She wasn’t at the restaurant half the time, talking with front desk, sitting and eating behind the counter. I tripped at the golf course bc bricks and rocks laying all over. The hotel has so much potential but needs so much work to get there. Weeds outside everywhere at the golf course and outdoor pool. The website online shows much more than is actually there, it definitely needs updating asap so people know what to expect. I might stay again but my expectations would need to be set very low.

The room smelled like mold. The towels were stained in our room, the vent above the whirlpool tub didn't work, nor did the light. The bathroom had one lightbulb that worked. I had to ask for someone to put new bulbs in. They were all different colors when done. The bedding was brown on the edges.
We went to get nachos and cheese, the chips were so stale, you couldn't bite into them, the cheese was cold and chunky.
The pool had dirt in all of the corners and hallways were dirty and had garbage in them. the doors were full of finger/handprints like they hadn't been cleaned.
Mini golf....that looked like it hadn't been taken care of in eons either. The weeds were terrible everywhere, the ponds were so full of muck/green sludge that you couldn't see bottom so you hoped not to lose the ball. The music was nice, speakers were blown.
For the cost, it was extremely disappointing and as a single parent, this was our summer trip and not the best experience. I never leave bad reviews but I wanted to let others know that for the cost, go somewhere else.

Loved the suite room and amenities that came with it. Started with 1/2 roll toilet paper so was out fast minimal staff so felt bad and walked down to lobby to get more- only 1 staff helping. $100 slowly lost on slot machines never and long extremely long wait for food at 1878 like 1 hour for chicken strips. Pub closed. Early closing of water slides and water park. Was an ok vacation.

This place leaves a lot to be desired. An elevator was broken. The room was clearly not cleaned well- syrup on surfaces, hair on the floor, blood stain on hideaway mattress. Room phone didn’t work. Parking is not close. Highly recommend bringing your own food. Mini golf was run down - algae in water, weeds. Don’t get me started on the smells. Good enough- but keep your expectations low. A lot of potential if ownership would invest in the property.

We purchased daily passes. The check-in process was great. Lexi was professional and gave good information; she dealt with a customer concern while I was there and maintained her composure, I was impressed.
We first went to the outdoor pool area, the small kids area seemed warmer - maybe even heated, the deeper outdoor pool was chilly with the wind. I was surprised at the lack of landscaping - or weeds everywhere. The outdoor/indoor hot tubs weren’t working. The lifeguard said Three Bears is under new management and the new owners are working hard to get it back up to what it used to be. Very nice life guards - and attentive. We then went indoors and found it to be very fun; although some parts were in poor repair. The bouncy swings were not in service, but in the end it’s about safety and the lifeguards were all attentive.

We had pizza and it was prepared well, but the cashier had trouble making change, we finally used a card because she said that would be easier. All employees just need to understand customer service better, for example when you walk by a paper brochure that is saturated in the walk way… pick it up, your title might not be janitor, but it’s everyone’s responsibility to keep the place clean.

My one wish is that you add lounge chairs - chaise style chairs inside and outside. As a grandmother, I didn’t necessarily want to be in the water and would have enjoyed getting some sun tanning in.

With all of that being said, my grandchildren had a fabulous time. They are 2, 8 and 13.

I know the owners would probably like it to be more crowded but personally I appreciated the lower level of occupancy. As I told a friend, I would rather shop at the IGA than Woodman’s.

Again, all the personnel that we worked with, except by the pizza - were great - especially Lexi at check-in. The employee at the pizza counter just needs to understand giving change and not everyone likes to use a card.

We will be back!! Our grands want to rent a Villa next time. Keep investing - you have a goldmine of a location.

We brought a huge group of kids into the waterpark due to rain ruining our plans for jellystone. Lexi, at the front desk ,was so accommodating and made our day perfect. The kids still needed to eat so Michael in the kitchen, made us 6 excellent pizzas at a very late notice. Can’t thank the staff enough for their extra efforts. On a side note, great place for littles and less crowded than the Dells.

As we arrived for check in they gave me some keys that did not open the door so I contacted the front desk they sent someone with different keys. They were still not able to open the door. We were waiting for over an hour for someone to get the door open. When we finally got in the place was filthy the fridge was dirty the stove looked gross. When I book this place, it had a different picture of how it would look. The couches were ripped and we had a foldable table with one foldable chair something that I’ve never seen before at a resort.then we finally fell asleep my sister wakes up scratching with bug rashes all over her arms we looked at the beds they were full of bed bugs crawling all over the Mattress and pillow I immediately called the front desk. No one was answering. It was 3 AM. We only had like three hours of sleep. I walked to the front desk, looked for someone there and I spoke to some lady and I requested my refund back and told them I was not gonna stay there with my family that they needed to do something about the bed bugs.I’ve been to so many resorts with my family and we’ve never experienced something this bad it was horrible. I don’t recommend anyone stays at this place.

We celebrated a group birthday this summer in a villa! It's well worth it if you are looking for space and privacy for the whole family. Not many rules as a hotel. We enjoyed the whole cabin, a campfire, a pretty cool golf cart rental right across the st . From our cabin witch was almost $100.00 cheaper than the Jellystone rentals. They have verity of sizes and styles to for your needs at the park!.
Gas station close. Beach outdoor furniture water park and slides, wave pools live music, activities for everyone... Very enjoyable

I would strongly recommend skipping 3 bears now. We have came here for years. Last year wasn’t great but we thought we would try again. This year, new ownership has been awful. Rooms are gross, no staff, they shut slides down because the lack of staff. Good luck getting food, head to Tomah. Talking to a couple of the lifeguards they said the new owners don’t care. Waterpark is very run down now. Allot of things broken. Garbage everywhere in the yard. It’s sad use to be a great place to take the family.

Took forever to check in and could hardly find where to park just says "guest check in" but I am not a guest i have a place there so the wording is just confusing trying to find the main lobby. When we got into our room there was damage done to the wall and the bed rails was ready to fall apart. Not including the screen for the patio door was broken so couldn't open it, on top of it there was a wasp stuck inside! And the sheets had dirty blood stains and parking lot is a mess garbage laying around everywhere! Oh and when I took a shower the water didn't drain so I was in a foot of water trying to shower! Would not recommend coming here! Glad I only got one night!

We decided to take a spontaneous weekend trip and found three bears resort. Everyone has been super nice and the indoor waterpark was great for our daughter. However we were quite disappointed in the quality of the outdoor pool. The bathrooms in both the indoor and outdoor pools were disgusting. The smell of urine was overwhelming. We were also very disappointed in the quality of food offered. Several of the items offered were walmart brand items. And the cost was outrageous. Had this not been a spontaneous trip, we definitely would have brought our own food. I really like that the rooms do not have carpeting and our room was clean. However, we can hear the people in the room above us running around. Overall, we have had a positive experience.

The place smelled like weed in all the shared spaces, the a/c wasn’t working in the restaurant, we went for a walk and spotted several safety issues for a place you are supposed to bring your kids to including open wires, rotted railings and exposed nails, the beds were dirty with hair in them, there were several places with holes in the walls, in the middle of the night something was digging into my neck and it was a security tag was on the pillow, there were hairs in the bed as well as on the night stand. Food was also terrible and overpriced.

Our family comes here every year. Last summer we had a bad experience but we tried again this year only to be extremely disappointed, overcharged. We stayed at a cabin that’s owned but rented out. We rented a stinky broken down cabin that we repeatedly complained about but being forced to stay in the cabin we got, then being charged for all the broken stuff we complained about!!!! The cabin smelled like a sewage and the bedboards were busted up and fragile. The previous people left dog poop and s’mores mess that we complained about, then got charged for. Dirty dishes with ketchup all over in the “clean” dishwasher they said when we checked in they had just finished putting away the dishes so why lie? We bought a life jacket from the lobby they said we couldn’t use in the waterpark and couldn’t return!! The indoor outdoor hot tub was still down. The ice cream freezer clearly hasn’t been cleaned in months. I heard they had new management since last summer so we gave them another chance but was met with a stressful “vacation”

You'll find similar comments in recent reviews and I think the vast majority of guests are seeing the same thing here. The change in ownership really hit the resort hard for a period of time and many guests suffered those unforeseen consequences, but it seems like they're straightening everything out. Our experience was as follows with some highlights/lowlights:

Two families rented adjoining hotel rooms for a Wednesday night -> Friday morning. The reservation process was incredibly painful as we had to call to reserve adjoining rooms, and the person who answered had no previous experience assisting bookings with this resort. It took my wife at least 30 minutes to not only get it booked, but then had to call back to tell them they had taken her email down incorrectly and she never received confirmation.

The rooms themselves were exactly as we expected them to be and very sufficient for our needs, especially for the price point that included free entrance to the waterpark. No complaints about the rooms, they were standard if slightly above standard for a 3star hotel.

Service was great overall. The service desk was staffed with friendly and helpful people at a variety of different hours of the day. The restaurant staff was also unusually kind, as my friend's daughter wanted toast and all he had was bread, and they kindly offered to toast it for him. Tiny things like that go a long way in improving overall experience.

Waterpark was great overall. No it's not the Dells, but you're not paying Dells prices. The outside slides were a great starter for our younger kids of 6 and 8 while the splash pad was fun for our 3 year old, and inside had plenty of great options for our entire party that kept us entertained for hours of swimming. The only negative we experienced was the outside womens bathroom had obviously not been cleaned in at least a day if not many days.

Considering we were there during the week, the number of guests was quite low so most of the time we either didn't have to wait for slides or for maybe a minute or two at the longest. It felt like we had the waterpark almost to ourselves, even though there were a couple dozen other parties there. Big enough for everyone to spread out, but maybe we just got lucky and stayed during low tide.

The arcade was unbelievably hot, just incredible really. But, you don't come to a waterpark for the arcade, it's just one more thing to do to fill time if you so desire. So I'm just mentioning it but it didn't factor into my overall score.

Anyway, I'm giving it a 4 as it was a great experience overall with some minor tweaks here or there that I would expect to get ironed out as the staff gets more experienced and the ownership has more time to smooth things out. I wouldn't be scared off by the large swath of 1 star reviews earlier in the summer.

I am writing to provide feedback on my recent stay at Three Bears Resort, where 40 family members gathered. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory, and I feel it is important to share the issues we encountered.

First, the resort appeared to be understaffed, which seemed to affect the overall friendliness and responsiveness of the staff. For instance, when the front desk called me to meet the dinner coordinator in the ballroom, I went to meet him immediately, but he was not there. It took two calls to the front desk and a 30-minute wait before he finally arrived.

Additionally, one of our family members found food on the floor of their hotel room upon check-in, which is unacceptable. Another family member experienced a safety hazard when their blow dryer sparked. In my hotel room the bottle of conditioner was empty upon our arrival. We asked for a replacement, but never received during our 2-night stay. The quality of food service was also below expectations.

Moreover, the ballroom we rented did not have functioning air conditioning making it extremely uncomfortable during our event due to the heat. The room next door had a barn fan for the heat which made a lot of noise and difficult for us to hear each other.

Given these issues, I regret to say that I would not recommend the Three Bears Resort to others. I hope you take this feedback seriously and address these concerns to improve the experience for future guests.

Floors were very dirty in the room and we had to wedge the mini fridge up against the wall to keep it closed. It completely defrosted on the last day there. Bed rails were not secure under the bed , leaving two inches of sharp metal sticking out at the ends. Had to remove bed rail so no one would get injured. Spoke to the front desk about these issues and was assured that maintenance would be out to fix it while we were away but that never happened. Maid never came to the room. If they can just pay attention to these things it would make for a more pleasant stay. My 2 year old grandson had lots of fun there on his birthday. I would also recommend more lifeguards should be on duty. I don’t feel there is enough and not everybody watches their children. I’ve read that it is recently under new ownership so if they work out the kinks and the upkeep they’ll do great!! The staff were very friendly. I will most likely return but I will check the room out before I unpack next time.

The water park was amazing, and very age appropriate for our 5 year old! We had lots of fun in the indoor and outdoor pools.

The room/cottage we had was huge, and nice looking. It was comfortable sleeping.

It was reasonably priced.

Cleanliness. Our room at check in had leftover food bites on the floor, sticky residue from soft drinks on the kitchen table, and 6 different pieces of garbage throughout the room. My toddler’s clothes turned black in the knees from the filth on the floor, and this was after we requested the floors to be mopped. The cleaning lady showed up with a dry microfiber mop to dust the floors. Honestly if this place was clean, I’d give it an 8-9.

We paid a lot of money to stay at this resort, thinking it had everything so we would not have to leave with our two small children, after swimming for a few hours we decided to eat at the restaurant and we waited over 20 minutes at the counter. It seems they had one person taking orders and cooking and serving. I don’t mean one for each of those I mean one for all three of those. So now we had to load up our kids and drive to the closest town to try and find a restaurant. Kind of defeats the purpose of the resort. Very disappointed in our first night here.

We got here and you have to check in in the back of building. My husband had to park over at the atv area because the cabin people would complain. Went swimming and it was nice besides floating tubes everywhere. Went to the so called restaurant. NOT A RESTAURANT. Big eating area with a baseball ordering stand. One woman that is taking orders and serving people while manager sits in booth and watches her. The cook screwed up orders. We ordered 16pc wings that taste like they came out of a box and microwave. Sons cheese pizza turned into something else. My food was a bacon chicken ranch wrap. Had 2 pieces of chicken and wilted lettuce. Waiters

Dirty underwear, dirty room, dirty restroom. Yes our room came with somebody's dirty underwear on the computer desk chair, some weird smudging all over the window, and red hand prints all over the trim. Waterpark restroom was too disgusting to use, wet toilet paper everywhere. Let the front desk know, they said they would have someone call me and also gave me the owners business card (Sean Patel) to email. I did send an email with details and pictures. No phone call or email response. Visit at your own risk.

This waterpark and hotel has changed hands several times in the past years, so changes in management are expected. But this visit was by far the most disappointing we've had here. Lifeguards were actually sleeping on their posts, room not ready as promised or cleaned well, restaurants are either totally or partially shut down and had poor service, and to top it off, the arcade ripped off my kids. To this, the front desk murmured, "Sorry, cant help you with that."

Three bears definitely has some space for improvement, however reading the recent review I knew this going in. As a group with two small children, we enjoyed our stay. The waterpark suited our needs and the water was very warm and less crowded than others which was nice! Once we arrived front desk staff were very accommodating. The food and service were subpar but we had brought lots of snacks given the other reviews.

For families with small children, this resort was perfect. Be cautious of check in/out time and when you can and can’t use waterpark, as this was one thing we didn’t realize when booking that caused a bit of a headache.

Looks like it was a nice resort at one point. Many things are in need of maintenance and upkeep. Upon checking in, we noticed the elevator was very shaky, (which should be looked at) The hallways on the 4th floor were very dirty, our room 423 was absolutely disgusting. The floor had garbage, food crumbs, and dirt all over. There were food crumbs and sticky spots all over the desk and on top of dresser. There was dust on top of the microwave and the AC unit was very dusty and dirty as well. There was writing on the wall in the closet area, and the bathroom toilet had diarrhea splatter marks all over the toilet seat. We went down to the front desk and asked them if we could have a broom and dustpan to at least sweep up the floor so we could take our shoes off. Upon returning that I asked if there was a mop we could use and they said to just use a towel to wipe the floor. In the indoor water park the water in the large pool and hot tub was definitely not the right color and smelt dirty. The restrooms by the wave pool and outside area were in desperate need of cleaning. Every toilet had poop and toilet paper in them, toilet paper all over the floors and stunk very badly.

Hotel In rooms are clean but needs some improvement on maintenance. Simple things like painting, there are a lot of paint chips in the doors and interior areas of the hotel. You’ll also notice old chairs run down beaten up sitting outside the exterior of some of the rooms;throw them away, no Chair looks better than a dilapidated chair. The kids had a great time. They don’t notice those things.
We went for breakfast on Saturday morning, but the chef didn’t show up so there was no breakfast menu
We went back on Sunday morning, they had breakfast. There was only one other table there with two people . Service was very slow, but friendly. It took an hour for our food. We understood quickly why the restaurant was not busy.
This hotel has a lot of potential , I am trying really hard not to be too hard on them because I’m sure they are trying.

We checked in early on Friday, the check in process was fast and easy, the front desk clerk was very polite and helpful by providing a map of the resort, but didn’t inform us that the indoor outdoor whirlpool was out of service, what time breakfast started or when any of the “restaurants” opened. The suite we stayed in was spacious and comfortable, but was not cleaned properly - we found a brown sticky substance on the floor under the bunk beds. The room did not have a coffee maker and the microwave should be replaced as the sides are detached. There is not adequate drying hooks for the number of people in the suite. The indoor water park was great! It featured four water slides, a wave pool, regular pool, kiddie pool and one hot tub. The is a second hot tub that is supposed to be indoor/outdoor but it was closed. The outdoor water park didn’t look like it was as much fun so we stayed inside. The Arcade was VERY hot inside and was expensive. They charged 4-6 credits for most of the games and charged 2 credits to be issued a card to play. We spent $100 and that gave us 500 credits. The prizes were underwhelming, issuing a single piece of candy (tootsie roll) for 25 credits up to head phones for 3000 credits. The LazerMaze was also underwhelming, the instructions start before you enter the room so it’s best to have someone else set it up for you and it’s difficult to see the lasers – our 10 year old thought it was lame. We attempted to take the stairs from the 3rd to the 4th floor and ended up in a storage room. Turned around to go to the elevator to find that it wasn’t working. The “1878 restaurant” is nothing more than a glorified snack counter and does not serve any of the food listed on the menu online. The staff members during ever interaction we had were disinterested, rude, or completely unknowledgable. The staff members openly criticized the owner by saying that they need to update their website because, “they don’t offer none of that stuff anymore.” Because we weren’t wanting snack foods, we ventured to find other establishments – The Pines for dinner 10/10 highly recommend and Mandy’s Café in Tomah for breakfast 10/10 highly recommend. We payed $10 per person for mini golf which was fun, but the course is in need of attention. There are bricks haphazardly laying around the course, rocks all over the green, standing stagnant water that looks like it is growing the creature from the black lagoon and what looks like the remanants of an old skateboarding park collecting rainwater and beer cans. We stopped at the front desk several times during our stay, the staff is entirely unknowledgable, rude and unhelpful – except for the overnight shift – he was pleasant, friendly and apolgetic because he didn’t have fresh coffee made at 4am when we were awake. None of the staff could tell us when the “restaurant” served breakfast, at 6am the overnight staff said to call back in an hour. At 7:15am the desk clerk told us that the chef called in and they had to call someone else so they wouldn’t be serving breakfast until “sometime before 9am.” We opted to come to this resort specifically because it advertised the indoor and outdoor parks, arcade, and a restaurant with a breakfast buffet and several dinner options. Overall, I wouldn't stay at this resort again and will be sure to tell everyone who asks how awful the service is and how haphazard everything looked. This was one of the worst hotel stays my family and I have ever had, we definitely will not be back.

Me and my boyfriend originally got a king room just for the two of us as our family was here for a family camping trip. We checked in Friday and everything was amazing! All my other family was staying in a rv at jelly stone camp ground. Around 10 there was a huge fight which resulted in my brother and myself being banned from the camp ground. It was 12 before we got all his stuff and he was going to drive home cause he and his girlfriend had no where to stay. We went down to the front desk to see if we could get a roll away or any other ideas as hotels were pretty expensive at 12 am. Michael greeted us with smiles and positivity. He did us one better and got us into a room with another bed for my brother and his girlfriend. He saved my little brother from driving home at 3 am. Not only that but he made our weekend so memorable. We hung out in the water park and had so much fun. Thank you so much Michael.

Honestly, I found this place to not be as terrible as the reviews make it out to be.

The hotel part was not bad. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. The front desk did not have toothbrushes available. There are comfortable furnishings in the common areas of the hotel. Clean rooms, although our bathroom had a couple of spots that could've been better. The bathroom did have soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. I do think the rooms could use a microwave. The chair in the room is quite comfortable. There is no coffee maker in the rooms but there is free coffee at the front desk that's pretty good. The hall on the third floor is hot but the fourth floor isn't. The ice maker on the third floor isn't the best but, the fourth floor one works well.

The water park was great overall! Never busy. Always somewhere to put your things down. Everything worked except one hot tub. There were enough tubes to go around. The restaurant in the pool was never open so, even though it is posted that carry-ins are not allowed, you pretty much have to. The one thing that I was disappointed by was the number of lifeguards on their phones. Oh, and the bathroom/locker room is in sorry shape. We did not use the outdoor water park.

The food situation at this place is the big downfall. There is a tiny menu to order off of and it takes forever to get your food. They forgot one of our entrees the first night. The bartender did take it off the bill and discount our bill as well without being asked. The second night we ordered a brat patty and a burger. What we got closely resembled and tasted like a tiny breakfast sausage patty on a bun.

We would stay here again. If they fix the dining situation before we come back, that would be super.

The waterpark was okay at best. Hardly any lifeguards on duty, lots of deflated tubes. The food sucked at the tavern. Oh and bed bugs. Lots of bed bugs. The guy at the front desk tried his best to sound shocked at the news of bed bugs. The new room also had them. My boss went there in March and he reported bed bug problems as well. It was my first time ever dealing with them. I will never go back!

Our interactions and the helpful engagement with staff was a very positive element of our two family's’ stay. Theresa and Lexi at the front desk were helpful throughout our stay and the staff supporting the water park were very cordial and friendly. The cleaning staff were helpful and added to what was a welcoming feeling from the folks at Three Bears Resort.

Stayed in a villa for 3 days. Floors were INCREDIBLY dirty. They turned my children’s socks black just from running around playing. Dryer was creaking extremely loud and when trying to use it. One room had no blinds so we had to put a sheet up for privacy. Ceiling fan was rocking in the ceiling. Mysterious black substance all over the walls in the other bedroom. Tv remotes didn’t even have batteries. Waterpark was ok overall. Outside bathrooms were gross. Inside was fine. Overall not much to do in the area either. Might as well just go to the dells and never come back here again.

Resort is long past its glory days. 6 of the 8 waterslides are 42” and above. As one of two tables in the hotels 1878 restaurant we waited over an hour for an incorrect order that was half burnt, half undercooked. Next trip to a waterpark we will just go back to the Dells.

Good memory's there from the past but its now a dump, horrible food, not edible. Bad service, poor management, no oversight or attention to details. 500 for the night and no shampoo, conditioner or body wash. Tubes in the water park are all deflated. Just close the place instead of letting it go to the dogs, or sell it again to someone who cares.

I was very disappointed in this stay. I travel for work, so I’m used to hotel life. Room were very outdated and kinda musty smelling. Supposed to be onsite restaurants, but the entire time I was there it was never open. Very few options for snacks and drinks even. Wouldn’t be a bad place to take children with the water park options, but I never got a chance to get down to it, as I was there for business and it was closed by the time I got back to the hotel. Just thought it was pretty pricey and limited amenities.

We ordered food at the restaurant and it was absolutely terrible. The hotdog was way over cooked, shriveled up and burnt. The hamburger didn't even taste like meat. Took 1 bite and couldn't eat it. We took 1 bite and left it at the table. I did speak to a manager who stayed they would give us half of the money back. While its better than nothing, I feel we should have got the full amount back. That turned us off to the whole experience. There weren't many lifeguards at the Waterpark and they all looked very unhappy. Also there were not many tubes for the Waterpark. We had a good experience last year when we visited but this year was a different experience.

After a suggestion from my daughter, I booked a 2 Q bed for my PRE teen grand daughters and myself. Arriving at the resort I noticed that the refuse cans at the front were overflowing. In general, housekeeping was well below anybody's minimum expectations through my 3 night stay. THE ROOM; Rustic decor, the beds were comfy but the headboards are not attached and banged around while sleeping. The 'fridge was small, a foot was missing and the freezer space was frosted. The CHEAPEST microwave I've ever seen wobbled on top of the 'fridge. NO COFFEE in room. The balcony had water puddled mismatched chairs on it. There was a crude doorknob repair and a bolt holding the toilet seat to the bowl broke the second day. I booked a 3 day stay but had to visit the front desk every day since the key expired, it's just a small INCONVENIENCE! Service is NON-EXISTANT from check in to check out. The front desk is INTIMIDATING, the staff doesn't greet you they ask how you are paying. Getting an ice cream was a challenge. There is no room service. The resort advertises several restarants none are worth the wait even if they were open. The 1874 is an understaffed grill with the WORST food. Don't waste your time or money. The pools are the only thing this place has to offer.
Water quality is good and the pools are well maintained and the lifeguard staff is alert. THERE WAS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THE REST ROOMS BEHIND THE INDOOR SLIDES. I visited the family rest room on the left. The toilet was CLOGGED with feces on top of the clog. Towels were thrown around, it was FILTHY. I mentioned it to staff and told my grand daughters to use the other one. They returned stating that it was a mess including feces on the floor. With the exception of the pool I was disappointed with the facilities and staff. I won't recommend this place to anybody.

Our family ultimately enjoyed our stay however there were a lot of issues. There was only one restaurant which had a nice variety for menu items but was SO SLOW. We would be the only family sitting there and it still took 45-60 minutes to get French toast and avocado toast. It was very confusing why it would take so long. It was like that no matter what time we ate or what we ordered. Next time we would bring more of our own breakfast and lunch options and eat dinner at nearby restaurants. The ‘pub’ was only open in the evening on one night we were there. I understand the change of ownership and being short staff but figuring out food/dining should be top priority for the new owners. The outdoor pool was great, only complaint is that the basketball hoops in the pool were so rusted we were not allowed to use them because they didn’t want them to break off. And the pool food option was unavailable due to lack of staff. The indoor water park was great! Loved the different areas. Only complaint is the tubes were constantly deflated with nobody available to blow up throughout the day. Arcade was fun but would be nice to have a more affordable option for loading the card if we are staying there. Laser maze didn’t work with tokens which was fine because then it was unlimited play. However it also was not working, and someone did come up to help. When we got to our room the floor in front of the mini fridge was a puddle. They gave us towels but said maintenance wouldn’t be in until the next day. My husband was able to knock some of the ice off and got it working. Despite these things our kids all had a blast and the issues did not bother them which we were thankful for. We loved the big sitting/dining area and spent a lot of time there playing games with the whole family. We also enjoyed the live music Friday night. The idea of the resort and the potential is amazing - I sincerely hope the new owners turn it around.

My boyfriend and I booked our hotel room at Three Bears for our first joint Fourth of July celebration for two nights. Everything was going well the water park was fun until we encountered bed bugs in our sheets and pillows. We were offered a new room, around 2:30 am which we accepted, but we decided to leave early not spend another night due to the poor wifi and more bed bugs we encountered We will not be returning.

Don’t let the negative reviews about new management scare you. This place is great especially for families with younger kids. It’s a smaller version of Dells resort for less than half the price, and much less crowded. If you plan on bringing your own food and drinks, you’ll be set.

We just got here for three nights of family enjoyment for the Fourth of July holiday! So glad to be out of town and enjoy some R&R. My only complaint is it’s hotter than Haiti indoors, like does the AC work? I know it’s a big place but come on I shouldn’t be sweating inside and there should be a temperature difference when I go from the patio to the bar. It’s blazing hot in this place, help! My friend brought a USA sweater because she thought that would be OK inside at a cool (not Cool) resort! I already told her she should not have brought the sweater!

This place is in rough shape. Waterpark is old and dirty, lots of features dont work for the kids, tubes for the lazy river arent inflated, wave pool isn't working. outdoor waterpark closes at 5pm, 2 hot tubs dont work, and theres a large pile of bird droppings that we have to walk around to get inside from the outdoor water park. Lazer maze isn't working, 90% of the arcade games are broken. Website says there are 5 eating options but in reality, theres only 1 and service is very slow. 4th floor room has a screen door but no balcony and it's not child proof. Candy, wrappers and hair in our room. Foul smell in the main floor hallway. Just poor conditions and we regret staying.

We have been to this location for the past 6 years around the same time. This has to be the worst visit ever. To start off, we get checked in to our room and find food and confetti from a prior stay in our room, in the bed and on the floor. Get everyone changed to head out to the pool, the hot tub is still down from a year ago, the lazy river and slides have 2 tubes, the rest are flat. The air pump was right by the slides, a few gentlemen attempted to blow up some tubes for the kids only for the lifeguard (who is sitting in a chair on her phone) blows her whistles, yells something and shakes her head no at us. We then went outside for the outdoor pool, no food or drinks at all. Used to have a food stand inside with snacks and drinks, which was nice. Who wants to walk all the way back inside for this stuff. Well we walk inside, go in the waterpark area to go upstairs to get food, and its closed, only to be told to go to the restaurant in the main area. This is awkward when you are in swim attire and sopping wet. We kept getting the same excuse its under new ownership blah blah blah. For what we paid I expected much better. Perhaps you all need to take some notes from the Dells, they do not have issues like this.

This place has gone downhill significantly since we stayed there two years ago. There were very few tubes available, and those that were available were partially deflated. There were no towels in our room so we had to go ask for some at the front desk and they didn't even have enough to give us. We had two tvs in our room but could only find one remote. We asked the front desk for help and they just said there should be two. Later the waterpark ran out of towels so we had to return to our room wet. We ordered food from the restaurant and the fried food was still frozen in the middle. The site advertised five dining areas; there was only one. The main area of the hotel/lobby/restaurant was hot the whole weekend, as if the air conditioning wasn't working.

Ceiling was leaking with water and when we called for maintenance we were told maintenance was not available and they’d come by in the morning, but no one ever came. There was also a balcony that was extremely unsafe and if one of our children were to have leaned on it, they would have fallen 15 feet onto concrete.

Our expectations were low given the recent reviews (most of which were accurate), and while the villa could definitely benefit from some TLC, the waterpark was a blast for the kids.

Worst resort that my family and I have ever stayed at. The room that we stayed in was terrible the master bedroom air-conditioning was broken and so humid that I almost passed out. The people above our room were so loud you could hear them above our sound machine at maximum sound. I also realized that one of the elevators floors was coming apart.

We stayed in room 229.

I will not recommend this resort to any of my friends or family.

DO NOT give this business your money. TERRIBLE in so many ways….
We have been going to this resort with family for the last 10 years and this will be the last time we ever go there. The water park area is dilapidated and there are about 10 tubes for the lazy river in the entire place. We were told that they cannot blow up anymore tubes from the pile of deflated ones. Cleanliness of the pool area and restrooms were sub par. I observed piles of random crap (hairnet/bandage/hair/trash in the corners by the pool inside. No toilet paper in the bathrooms in the back of pool area. There are MANY broken and nonfunctional things all around the entire place. No food options on site even though they advertised there was. We were told that staffing was an issue but there was a new owner now so it was getting better. I’m not sure that is the case. We observed two different life guards in the water park full on sleeping while working. I wish I would have had my phone to take pictures of this. I was appalled. I cannot believe this place can operate the way that they do with no accountability. We also found out that we were over charged for our one day waterpark passes and they refused to refund our $60. Front desk manager clearly deals with people complaining because she did not care at all. Basically told me it was not her problem. I am reporting this place to the Bureau of consumer protection for Wisconsin as well. Go another 60 miles down the road and go to Wisconsin Dells to save yourself some major frustration.

We stayed in a cabin which was beautiful, but back when we booked in January, they didn't tell you the water park isn't open every day. We found out the day they gave lifeguards off was on Tuesdays. Which was the day we went. So no water park. Then the arcade would not accept our money for playing games, which room was in 90 degrees. Our cabin was set at 69 degrees and we couldn't change it. Plus wires were exposed from thermostat. In the porch in back, there were lose boards in a few spots. We moved the boards and saw they were covering large holes. Not hammered down. Plus front steps sounded like they were gonna give in. 2 of 3 showers in house only gave off cold water. Also the day they gave lifeguards off was also the day the resturant was closed there as well. We called 3 bears two weeks prior and we asked about wrist bands for waterpark and no one informed us then about nothing being open. Walked by resturant area and staff left old pizza from day before still spinning on a rack for sale. Hopefully they threw it out when they opened. We understand people need off, but inform us before the 14 days where we can get our money back. Also they had 2 tvs. 1 worked with very few channels and other didn't work at all. We were so excited to stay here. It's too bad.

As a family, we stayed at Three Bears Resort many times over the years. We have since moved across the Country and found ourselves back in the general area for a funeral. I thought it would be a nice trip down memory lane to stay at this resort for one night with my daughter. I had tried calling for days, and never got anyone to answer the phone. Since we were driving right by the resort, I decided to stop in to check on room availability. At $280 for one night, for two people, just to sleep, I made the decision to head 30 minutes further into Black River Falls to find a room. Once in Black River Falls, I checked on Priceline for a local hotel and, much to my surprise, Three Bears Resort popped up for $152 for the night, including all fees, etc. That seemed reasonable enough to drive 30 minutes back the other direction for the night, so we did. I had received two confirmation emails and one text confirming our reservation for that night. Upon arrival, the woman at the front desk proceeded to tell me she did not have a reservation for me. and often didn't receive reservations booked through third party companies. I then showed her the confirmation emails and text I received. I then asked if they had rooms available like what we had reserved, and she said they did. However, she told me they don't price match so the price would be $280. I asked to speak with the manager, and she told me she was the manager. She then told me she spoke with the owner and he said if we wanted to stay there, we would need to pay their room rate which was $280. At that point, I made the decision to leave and drive back to Black River Falls, 30 minutes away, and find a place to stay for the night. Very disappointing given they had plenty of rooms available and we were simply wanting a room to sleep in before we headed out for a funeral the next morning. Buyer be ware of using a third party for booking with this hotel!

We had a great stay at 3 Bears resort. We stayed in one of the ground floor king suites (102) and we liked that we could park right outside the patio door of our room. It made for easy access. I would recommend chairs or picnic tables outside those rooms as you make improvements. Michael at the front desk was extremely delightful. He is a huge asset to your resort and has great ideas for future improvements. The indoor waterpark was perfect for our young grandchildren and it seemed very clean. You need more tubes though for the slides and lazy River. As you consider future improvements I’d recommend maybe putting brooms & toasters in the suites and ensuring your advertised restaurants are opened up again. We would have played mini golf had it not been $10 pp. That’s too much to charge for what’s there. Overall we had a terrific time and will return again now that it’s under new ownership. PS I bought a bottle of wine and think Michael’s idea for a future wine tasting was a good one😊

The cabin we stayed at had some major code violations and other malfunctions. There were lamp shades missing, missing covers on outlets, no cover on air conditioning panel. It had three bathrooms, but only one shower could be used at a time. If one was I. Use, the other ones wouldn’t even turn on. Toilets were very hard to flush. You couldn’t change the channel on the very small television in the living room, and remotes didn’t even work. You could tell nobody focused on upkeep on the cabin. Not sure how clean it actually was, as there were French fries by one of the beds in the upstairs bedroom. Overall we slept there, but wouldn’t book again.

We had to switch room 2 different times because it over 80 degrees in the rooms. They advertise the serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was like pulling teeth to get a pizza at noon. No breakfast or dinner the 3 days we were there. It’s very difficult to take your kids to a place that doesn’t offer any sort of food when they swimming at a waterpark all day.

The pool drains were covered is clumps of slimy hair. All of the rafts for the water slides were deflated. A lifeguard was sleeping in a chair at the end of the water slides. The bar was never open the three days we were there.

This place has such potential to be great if they actually maintained it, kept it clean, and served food.
