What a fantastic place! The staff was welcoming and helpful. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. We had some wine next door while we waited for our table and it was worth the wait. We had whitefish chowder, pork belly with jalapeño corn, sirloin steak with risotto and roasted veggie and wild mushroom risotto with grilled chicken. So incredibly yummy and highly recommended.

We had the most incredible wedding at the Open Air Hoop House with Thyme Restaurant and Catering. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. Callie was truly amazing to work with, kind, organized, and so attentive to every little detail. She went above and beyond to make sure our day was flawless and that we felt completely taken care of. Her communication was excellent, and it was clear how much she genuinely cared about making our wedding special. The food was phenomenal, fresh, flavorful, and served perfectly warm. Our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was. The dessert charcuterie was absolutely fabulous, the late-night cheese curds were a huge hit, and the custom specialty drinks were so good. The entire staff was so professional, friendly, and thoughtful, making the whole evening run seamlessly. Every aspect of the experience exceeded our expectations and created a day we will never forget. We are beyond grateful to Callie and the entire Thyme team for their talent, care, and heart. We could not recommend them more highly. They truly made our dream wedding a reality!

As a vendor hired to DJ weddings, I work with a lot of different venue staffs, but I have to say that when you encounter a venue staff that is incredibly accommodating, and great with communication, it makes the night so incredible!

This was my experience as a vendor working a wedding at Thyme Restaurant and Catering. It’s a beautiful venue, the staff is incredibly professional and helpful, and I was well taken care of.

Have been here many times and loved it until now. Three of us went in mid June. We ordered drinks, appetizer, entrees and dessert plus a couple more rounds of drinks, then coffee for my mom. Not more than 30 seconds after getting our credit card receipt we were asked to leave by the host as they needed the table. Okay, we were taken aback but understood. Last week we went again and while we were eating our entrees the same host came by and said she wanted to make sure things were moving along okay. That felt like we were being told to hurry it up. We made sure to get there right before 5 so we had a chance to get a table without waiting. It's not right to rush someone because there are people waiting that didn't think to get there early enough. I don't believe we will return.

This is a family favorite. They don't take reservations but even if there is a wait, it's worth it. The food is always delicious and there is a nice variety to the menu that gives everyone what they want. I love the cauliflower appetizer, and we vote these the best cheese curds in Door County. Very bad experience. We had a party of 8 and called at 4:48. They said they can’t hold a table for us and everyone must be here to be seated. We got there at 6:10 and a party of 8 was just finishing. The hostess said the wait now is 2 1/2 hrs because they were HOLDING A TABLE for a large party that wasn’t here yet! Really. I am a resident of Sister Bay and this experience was extremely unacceptable. They wouldn’t hold a table for us, and yet they wouldn’t sit our party that was all present because they were holding a table. I had 3 small kids and couldn’t wait 2 1/2 hrs. So upset I may never be back. If they would have told us there was a large party coming in and it would be difficult to get seating we would have gone somewhere else. I went back in at 6:55 and the table was still empty. We could have enjoyed our meals and been gone by that point. Not the right way to treat a local.

We had an amazing experience last night at Thyme when we snuck away just after the big storm hit us and we lost power! The staff handled the patrons so well, especially our patient hostess when texts weren’t going through! The wine bar and music next door made our wait so enjoyable!

On top of the fantastic customer service I can’t say enough about our meal- Wisconsin burger was way better than a typical restaurant burger- and that smoked pork bowl- amazing! I will be ordering that “to go” in the future! We have been here before and I have to say you really can’t go wrong- everything is even better than you could expect! Thyme has been one of our favorite restaurants in the Door for a few years now and it *never* dissapoints.

Just off the main drag of Sister Bay- it's on a lovely, quiet, beautiful property surrounded by nature. The indoor seating, with large doors that open up to the outdoors as well as the plentiful outdoor seating on their beautiful patio is very well thought out- with plenty of shade and some protection from any strong wind.

We've tried a few different starters and have always been impressed with the attention to detail. This last time we ordered their bread basket and the bread was fresh and delicious but their signiture oil absolutely stole the show.

The General Taos Chicken is our favorite entrée- and definitely one of our absolute favorite dishes of any DC restaurants.

The service is also impeccable and you can tell they they take a lot of pride in their restaurant, menu and the experience of dining with them.

I also have to say that I always love seeing the beautiful Golden Retriever basking in the sun out front- he's such a sweet, and well behaved dog.

Wow! Best meal we have had in Door in years. Cheese curds were the best I’ve had anywhere, risotto and salmon were incredible and the general tso’s chicken was insanely good with fresh seasonal vegetables. Kids meals were high quality as well. We had such an amazing experience at Thyme and will definitely be returning next time we visit Door County. Firstly, the food was absolutely amazing with such a diverse menu. Secondly, the staff was phenomenal. We even accidentally broke a wine glass and they instantly cleaned it up and brought out a new appetizer in case the original one got glass in it (even though breaking the glass was 100% our fault). And, they have a beautiful resident dog outside, Magnolia, that we loved hanging out with. Will definitely be returning!

Amazing dinner!! We came early and got a table right away, which was smart as they filled up fast!! Highly recommend this on busy nights-- we came on a Saturday. Highly recommend the lemon whipped ricotta and toast as an appetizer. We then got the tomato bisque and pear/ goat cheese salad. Both great, although I would have liked to have had more pear on my salad. Our entrees were the short rib and salmon. Amazing!! Then we shared the flourless chocolate cake for our wedding anniversary-- perfect . The service was phenomenal! The only thing I would change is the view outside the window. The manager did ask if we wanted the curtains pulled, but as my husband said we waited for Spring for so long in Wisconsin, we needed to enjoy the sun-- but it was nice they asked! This place is one of Door County's hidden gems! Immediately upon entering, I was given a warm smile and a very welcoming greeting. They had their regular menu and their Saturday features menu. I gotta say, it was hard to choose. All of the options looked amazing.
I decided on the Cubano with battered fries and their fresh made pickles. I was not disappointed! The bread was as close as you could come to a cuban loaf as I've had north of Florida. They smoke their pork, which is better, in my opinion, than braising. Smoked pork often takes on a flavor of its own, but this was a gentle smoke that allowed the cumin and citrus from the mojo marinade to come through with subtle hints. It was served with battered fries, which were crispy and tasty without any condiments. A welcomed accompaniment was the house made pickles. They had a savory apple cider vinegar note, which made them a very good pairing... so much so that I replaced the dill pickle on the Cubano, with the house made pickles, and it made it even better.
The Saturday features menu sported an olive oil cake, which I love, and this was one of the best I've ever had. It was served with a zesty fresh lemon curd, fresh raspberries, and whipped cream. I would put this dessert up against the finest pasty chefs!
I highly recommend this restaurant, i can't wait for my next visit!

The chicken sandwich has habanero in the sauce but it is not spicy. Dinner was spectacular - elegant food served in a warm and authentic environment with outstanding service. If I could rate Thyme higher I would. We had a WONDERFUL experience there tonight.

We arrived with a request to try and seat our massive group of 23 people, which would be a challenge for any restaurant let alone a smaller / mid-sized restaurant on a Sunday evening.

The host was welcoming, gracious, and didn’t bat an eye at our request. While she worked her magic to seat us all together, she encouraged us to enjoy the next door wine bar, which was lovely for both the adults and kids in the group.

Once at dinner, our server Bry was fast, efficient, knowledgeable, and so accommodating to our large group.

The food was delicious, the drink selection varied, the service was top-notch, the vibe just lovely. Thank you so much again to the lovely host and Bry for making our evening with family so enjoyable. I would go back in a heart beat!

Back in September 2023 we had a wonderful experience. The seafood chowder was thick with potatoes and seafood. We were back on July 10 of this year with family whom we had raved about the chowder and were very disappointed. The chowder was runny and not thick with tiny potatoes and little seafood. If you dig being fringe outside or just outside, then boom read no more, this is your spot. Food is unique in a good way. How many times can you happily eat a steak and fish. Variety is the spice of life and all that. For me, I guess I genuinely haven’t figured out how many times you can eat Steak. I think I may be trying to set a record. Wife and I got the chicken risotto and spicy sausage tortellini, a lot with the whitefish chowder and creamy broccoli soups! Everything was super delicious! Will definitely be coming back next time we stay in Sister Bay!

We went to Door County for a weekend vacation a couple weeks ago and dining here was a highlight most definitely. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the food was superb. Holy cow, the Cherry Bomb Chicken Sandwich was to die for! There was a group of 5 of us, and everyone loved what they ordered. Next time we visit Door County in the Fall we will certainly be paying a visit here again. Thank you!

We went for the first time and really liked everything. All staff very welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly , specially Taylor and the owner Carl. Lots of thanks to the kitchen crew for delicious food: my husband had chowder soup and burger, I had spaghetti and grilled shrimp. The atmosphere is nice and quiet . We will come back for sure. We went here on a whim, and let me tell you, it was a truly delicious fantasy. Starting with the staff, they were all extremely warm, welcoming, and very professional. There was a little wait to be seated but, they have a wine bar next door that you can sit and relax at while you wait. We had the pork belly as an appetizer and a sweet potato medley soup. The pork belly was just a touch over cooked, however it had a perfect glaze and was on top of a bed of sweet corn that had a light spice element. We then had a anjou Pear and goat cheese salad. The salad believe it or not was one of the best components of the whole night. It was a truly surprising experience with the creaminess and richness of the goat cheese, the acidity of the Pear, the sourness of the cranberry, and the crunch of perfectly crushed walnuts. This salad was completely devoured and unexpected. For the main course we did the braised short rib. The short rib was cooked to absolute perfection. It was juicy and melted in your mouth. We only regret not having room for dessert. This is a must try and add to your list if you plan on visiting Door County this season.

My husband and I went to the wine bar next door and discovered the restaurant next door was open (however it wasn’t showing up on google maps). While we were sipping wine, we decided to place a to go order for a few appetizers from here. Albeit we are “out of season” (April), the wait for our food was super short!! We ordered the
bruschetta, whipped ricotta cheese with honey, and lemon pepper Cajun shrimp. Originally, my husband was most excited for the shrimp and I was looking forward to the whipped ricotta, and we both highly appreciate a good bruschetta.. However, a few bites into our meals, I was scarfing down the shrimp which comes on a bed of corn polenta, (typically I’d say I’m not a huge polenta fan but that changed after trying Thyme’s corn polenta this weekend), and my husband couldn’t decided between the bruschetta and whipped ricotta when I asked for his favorite. All that to say, everything we ordered was so yummy!! I would highly recommend this place to my friends, family and even the royal family. That’s how good the food was. 10/10

We have dined at Thyme many times for both brunch and dinner and have always found the menu to have iems that are creative and presented with artistry.
We had the opportunity to try their Italian themed dinner with wine pairings and that gave their culinary team a chance to really hit one out of the park. The wines complemented the dishes and brought out the best in both. The Bolognese was one of the best I have hadand the risotto was also very good

We will be back for their regular offerings and hope that more theme dinners will be offered.

We had a fantastic experience working with Anne from Thyme to cater our event! They met us at our space ahead of time to plan the menu and took care of everything from start to finish. This place has it all! Great food, awesome service, and a really cool atmosphere. If you're looking for something different, this is it. Thyme is a farm to table restaurant, using local ingredients. They have really unique things on the menu, and everything we tried was excellent. We wanted to try everything! We had great service, with a smile and really enjoyed ourselves. There is outdoor seating for the warmer months. This place has a neat aesthetic to it, and a really nice atmosphere. We got there right when they opened, and they got busy very quickly.

Thyme catered our wedding a couple weeks ago in Bailey's Harbor. Prior to the wedding we've gone up and eaten there several times, we've spent time at the wine bar next door, and we did a tasting of the wedding menu. We had a great experience every time. The food is incredible, and the menu is very unique. There are interesting options for everyone. They were very mindful in planning for any potential dietary restrictions our guests might have had. Anne went way above and beyond with the planning part of everything, she was very knowledgeable and made great suggestions to assure that everything came together for us. She even helped us make sure we'd have time to get sunset photos between dinner and dessert. The staff was highly professional, especially when having to deal with the rowdy kids. And they happily accommodated all of our special requests and accommodations. 10/10 experience, we will continue visiting Thyme whenever we are up in Door County. And I would recommend their catering services to anyone.

Yum! SO glad we found this gem just outside downtown Sister Bay. It was just a few minute drive outside the very busy area, and along with Twelve Eleven Wine next door, gave us the perfect setting for a lovely evening. Delicious wine and food and a beautiful indoor/outdoor setting. We absolutely loved it and will be back!

Elegant and laid-back feel, phenomenal food!

Every element of every dish was thoughtfully and correctly prepared and everything worked together beautifully. The short rib, spicy garlic shrimp, and poke special were three of the best meals I’ve had in Door County (we come every year)… Even my 14-year-old said that her chicken tenders were the best she’s ever had.

Our server (Amy) was attentive, courteous, and had a very pleasant attitude and presentation.

Highly recommended if you’re looking for a delightful meal!

I loved Thyme! It's at a great location, (outside the busy streets in Sister Bay) and it has a parking lot, which is always a plus.
The food was phenomenal. I had the fried cheese (the call it cheese curds, but it was more like delicious, beer-battered fried cheese) and the pear and goat cheese salad. They were both truly delicious. I couldn't get enough of the cheese curds. The ranch dipping sauce was also a favorite around our table. And the salad... oh man, it was the best salad I've had in a LONG time. It's a 5-stad salad. Our table thought the white fish chowder was very good.
I also enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant. There are glass-paned garage doors that pull up, and let the air in. There's both outdoor and indoor seating, and it's just a lovely place for dinner.
I couldn't give it 5 stars for two reasons. One, the prices are obscene. No one from our table ordered anything from the "entree" menu, because it was basically all $30-$50. My second issue was the wait time. They were busy, but we waited quite a long time to get both our appetizers and entrees.
Overall, would HIGHLY recommend. I don't normally go for restaurants this expensive, but I'd come back just for that pear and goat cheese salad.

My wife and I dined here on our first night in Door County. The atmosphere is great and the service was excellent. I ordered the white fish chowder/stew and it was excellent. My wife had the Lobster bisque and it was off. Tasted like a burnt roux. Couldn't quite figure out what was going on but neither of us could finish it. We also had the pork belly small plate and we both thought it was okay. I could have eaten a gallon of the chowder. Will definitely try again.

If you are looking to plan a wedding in Door, I would highly suggest you do NOT use this place!!! This place absolutely lacks any kind of communication skills, and is poorly run. I originally contacted Nikki, the Event Coordinator in Fall 2022 looking to plan my August 2023 wedding there. Nikki would go weeks in between emails or phone calls making it impossible to even have a conversation or get questions answered. By the time she finally answered my questions, my fiancé and I had already chosen another venue that was much more organized. However, then I stupidly inquired about if they could still cater my wedding at the venue I picked in Egg Harbor. Nikki said my date was available and she put me in contact with Anne, and Tonda (the owner) who handled catering events. I then struggled to get an answer out of either of those ladies! My fiancé and I called leaving voicemails many times, and I sent 3 follow up emails asking if they could answer my questions so we could move forward to the next step to get a contract signed. I even reached back out to Nikki to let her know I was having a difficult time getting in touch with them and she told me they would reach out to me and not to worry because she had temporarily held my wedding date in their event calendar. After my 3 follow up emails I never heard from any of them again. I dodged a major bullet, and I am so happy I did not sign a contract to work with this place. They should be ashamed of the way they operate. When two workers and even the owner can't respond, it tells you a lot about the mission of the company and how much they care about your wedding or event. I will continue to let anyone I know who travels to Door to not dine in at this place.

We used Thyme Catering for our wedding earlier this month and couldn't be happier with the service that they provided. The initial tasting blew us away and we were so excited to share the flavorful journey from appetizers through the main course and the late night snack with our wedding guests. 1st time we tried Thyme and we will most definitely be back! The experience was superb from the start of the lobster bisque and whitefish cakes. Thyme catered our Sept. 2022 wedding of about 125 individuals. We had a great tasting in the spring prior in which Anne and crew were exceptionally attentive to our requests. We were blown away by day of food from appetisers, to main entrées served family style and late night apps of cheese curds, chicken and waffles, and sliders. We even received compliments on the salad, which is saying something for a salad at a wedding. Cannot say enough great things about this growing family-run company.
