This isn't a service issue; it's a management decision, and unfortunately, it's the staff who suffer from reduced tips as a result.
Placing the burden of a card fee on customers without proper notice reflects poor business practice. I won’t be returning. this is not a server issue. Just mention the service was good and the food was OK.

Eaten here several times. Usually 4 star. This time called trying to reserve table. They only take reservations for parties of 5 or more. Arrived and they had two 30 person groups just being seated. Was told 30 minute wait. Waited an hour and a half for table before leaving. Not the normal, but management could have done better.

We won't be going back. The food was good but they are very understaffed. It was not a pleasant experience. We were informed it would take a long time to get drinks. 30 minutes before the kids even had a root beer. I went up to the bar to see if I could get a drink sooner as I had waited about 25 minutes for my drink. The red haired bar tender asked me what I needed, didn't respond to my order, then walked away to fill up the dishwasher. I just gave up. The worst service I've received at an establishment.

Food and cocktail were excellent. Battling mosquitoes and being bombarded by very loud traffic noise due to an open employee entrance door was not. I mentioned the mosquitoes to my server ... the door stayed open so that's why I'm going 1 star with regard to service and atmosphere. Guess I'll just have to dine here during cold weather months.

Just a pleasure all the way around and I'll be back.
Though I was disappointed they were out of the mead I was interested in, I really enjoyed my second spirits choice, the Cherry Mule.
My server, Kate, was helpful when I asked her opinion about a couple of potential choices. The Jagerschnitzel was delicious, tender with a perfect crusty breading and superb mushroom gravy.
Overall: delicious drinks and food, friendly staff, interesting decor, okay space between tables, clean restrooms, ample parking.

We went to Tine & Cellar after my son and his fiancé got married. It was a wonderful experience! Our waitress was exceptional! She arranged for some people in the restaurant to come over and yell “Congratulations, we’re so happy for you two!” She really made our time at this restaurant celebratory. If you are ever in the area, I would recommend stopping for a bite.

Just alright. Expected a bit more flavor from the menu description for my salmon dish. The orange ginger couscous was good but overall found the entree lacking and definitely have had better cooked salmon at home. Ok price just not somewhere I'd seek to eat at again although the atmosphere and decor was nice and accommodating. Service was prompt.

Bottles like this that are made out of glass are sometimes difficult to clean so I'm sure they were having trouble cleaning their water bottles... But kind of gross me out since I'm pregnant. Great food and atmosphere, ive been here several times. For someone that constantly travels for work, I value the comfort, food and friendliness in restaurants. Its hard to find constantly on the road. With that being said, if im In town for work, I come here every day for dinner. Get the walleye dinner and a smoked ol fashioned, and enjoy.

I was kinda worried about the menu since some reviews says it wasn't as good but so far we had a great time and the food was delicious. The best was the truffle fried, steak, and the drinks. We couldn't just decide on only 1 valentines theme drink special so we ordered 3. One tasted smokey and was super strong, one was like chocolate milk, and the last was like a strawberry milkshake alcohol, so good. For the steak it had a nice steak sauce with it, with a light sweet mash potatoes. We order the salmon chips too and it was refreshing. The pasta was good, although it's just oil in it, some how it still tasted like Alfredo. But in my preference I would've like it to have sauce and not oil. Then we had a amazing server cj, she describes the desserts clear and descriptive to help us understand our options. Even given us a birthday deal! We're very much happy with our dining experience. Would go again for the drinks and fries.

We went for lunch on Valentine's Day this year and were very disappointed with the service and the food. We had been there several times and were pleased, but this time, the place was empty, the wait times were long, the service was terrible (it took about 5 minutes after we received our food to receive ketchup for our french frys). I ordered the Jägerschnitze, which is normally wonderful, but this time it was paper thin and my stead knife would hardly cut it and my plate slid all over the table each time I tried to cut it. The waitress rarely checked on us, they were totally out of Bloody Mary mix (on a Friday at noon)? Place was very cold and they set us off to the side by the rolling garage doors so we had to keep our coats on. All in all, we will probably not return anytime soon. So disappointed.

Overall not impressed. I’ve been here twice and the food and service fall short. We were seated immediately but then waited 20 minutes just to get water and our drink order taken. After that our drinks sat at the bar for 10 minutes before being brought to the table. Our food, fish tacos and chicken wrap, remarkably bland and forgettable. The only thing on the menu worth ordering are the truffle fries.

Young female blonde server took a plate as someone at our table was actively eating it, fork touching the plate and everything. Server agreed to check on gluten free status on a meal and then never came back to confirm. I was then served a salad on bread..I wouldn’t have ordered this had I known it would not be served as a wrap. When confronted, server did not offer a chance to order a different meal or replace item. And then was still expected to pay for the meal I didn’t ask for. I was left leaving the restaurant with no food in my belly. Very VERY disappointed and still very hungry. 10/10 would NOT recommend. I will not be dining there ever again.

I came in after my shift and had a wonderful experience. My bartender was from Ukraine and did a great job making my bourbon sangria and working as a team with the other bartender. I had the ahi poke for appetizer and cranberry salmon dinner, both were amazing. It was a great dinner and atmosphere after my shift and a good start to opening weekend of hunting. Thanks!

My family and I had visited this restaurant in the past for a family gathering and birthday celebration. We even reserved a large table for eight people. While the waitress did a great job with our orders, we were extremely disappointed with the service. Despite the restaurant being fully staffed and busy when we arrived, we had to wait for about three hours for our food. Our orders were lost during the preparations, and as a result, our food came out after we had finished our appetizers. We didn't receive any refund or discount for the long wait, and although the food was served hot, it was not up to our expectations.

We only had about 30 minutes to eat before having to take a lot of leftovers home. The restaurant may have a wide selection of food on their menu, but I would not recommend it for a large family gathering or celebration. The wait time and communication were poor, and there was a lack of professionalism from the managers. The only person who came out to apologize was the waitress, and we didn't feel that our concerns were adequately addressed.

We thoroughly enjoy going to Tine and Cellar. Their food and drink menus always offer an upscale feel. Lots of different options without feeling like the quality drops due to so many different things. I did leave one star off of the atmosphere just for constructive criticism. The place is meant to have the open and almost industrial vibe but at times I do feel like it may be a bit too open and causes it to be loud and echo. Overall we love the theme and that definitely doesn't deter us from going.

I was here a couple Fridays ago with a group of 6 and the service was definitely slow given that maybe half the tables were occupied during prime dinner time. I ordered the blueberry pancake old fashioned and my first one was delicious, but my second one was a completely different drink. My experiences at Tine and Cellar the past few times I have gone in the last year in a half have consistently going downhill. From the menu getting smaller and smaller, the service getting slower, and quality and presentation of the food itself. The only reason we decided to go tonight (9/20/24) was because we received a gift card. We arrived at about 7 to a half empty restaurant and didn’t get seated until 7:35. We had a very nice server, however the lemon shrimp linguine was very flavorless and the shrimp had a weird texture to it. The steak was advertised as “medium-rare” but it was definitely just rare and borderline raw. We were offered 2 choices for a free dessert for our patience but then it was narrowed down to just 1 dessert that was supposed to be a “lavender cheesecake”. Well, the cheesecake was obviously burnt (see photo). We had a lovely server and were offered a free drink but at this point I was just beyond disappointed and wanted to leave.

Seems to really be a hit or miss with this place, and more times then not it's a miss. We waited over an hour for our food, in a not very busy restaurant. To be told, they're at 30 to 45 minutes on food time. It was double that 45 minutes after placing the order for the food to be received. Food was overcooked on both items we ordered. The cheesecurds and chicken were both overdone and dry. Waitress did apologize for the delay and stated we had other larger parties that ordered. Okay, and? Seems like a terrible excuse. We stopped here while traveling thru this area. We both had their Kölsch beer( brought from Cologne Germany in barrels we were told) split exceptional cheese curds with divine cranberry chutney( I want this recipe). For dinner we split the best Jägerschnitzle I've ever had! And a side salad. (Pickled onions!). For dessert, OMG the apple cake!!!! And a butter pecan old fashioned. Everything was absolutely fabulous. The young server knew the menu and was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend. I never bother to write reviews, but I'm so sorry I live 350 miles away from here, or I'd be back weekly to try the I terraria g drink and food menu systematically.

I honestly hadn’t eaten here in about 6-9 months prior to the other night, and I was highly dissatisfied with a the food. I ordered the fish & chips. The fish batter was wet and soggy. I upgraded to truffle fries, because well typically they’re out of this world, only to be terribly disappointed. They were pale white and soggy. Also, I think the truffle sauce changed, and wasn’t as good. Next, I went to try the coleslaw, which was another disappointment. It was drowning in dressing, and the top super dry with no flavor. And lastly, the rye bread had no butter on and came with no pad of butter to put on it. I hear there’s a new chef in the kitchen, and I think there needs to be another NEW chef unfortunately. Please don’t let this place run to the ground! It used to be my favorite place to dine!

Our waitress never checked on us during our time there and we weren't able to get a refill on drinks. The other waitresses were very attentive, smiling and seemed caring about their tables. We just kind of sat there. When we first arrived, we ordered drinks. I ordered a Malibu and pineapple. I got it, took 1 drink and was mortified. It was either vodka or Everclear. 1 million percent not Malibu. Also there was some sort of white chunky cream? Floating on the top. When she came with our food, I asked for something else. She was very annoyed by this. I'm not "one of those customers", but what ever that was, I was NOT going to drink. I told her it tasted like vodka. She rolled her eyes, shrugged her shoulders like I don't care and said " we make our own Malibu". I've never been told this in my life. I promise you that was NOT coconut rum of any kind. And it should be disclosed when ordering. After that she never checked on us until it was time for the bill. I had high hopes for this place, but was very disappointed. The food was extremely over seasoned and hard to eat. DON'T order a Malibu & pineapple here!

This use to be our go to place. The menu has changed and so has the food. You now pay extra for fries which you get a tiny handful of under seasoned fries, the chips are from a bag. It is not the same. The drinks are good so if you want a drink this is good but the food now is very disappointing and makes me sad.

We used to enjoy the food here but recently have been quite disappointed. We ordered the Steakhouse Burger and received the Gorgonzola Burger instead. I’ve always love their truffle fries, which usually have a delightful crunch with a lovely seasoning. Tonight, they were regular fries with a couple pieces of melted cheese on top… The last time we dined in, there was also part of our order forgotten, for which we had to remind the waitress to remove from our bill. I’m not sure what has happened here in the last couple months.

There were 11 in our group. I loved the atmosphere and the large round rustic bar. Plenty of beer and drink choices.

If you are disabled and not able to climb stairs, call ahead to request a table on the lower level as there is no elevator.

There are many GF options but no vegan options. My friend called ahead and was told there were vegan choices, NOPE! Our friends ordered a plain salad and still got charged the same amount as a chicken salad. $16 for plain lettuce and a few veggies. Disappointing! I ordered a grilled ham and cheese with apples and they forgot the apples. Ended up a boring sandwich. The hanger steak with rosemary was delicious as well as the pork chops, kielbasa and steak .

Food is always exceptionally delicious here. Carly was fun, attentive, and refreshing. Stopped to ask the bartender about "white whiskey" from the drinks menu. He explained it eloquently and even poured a small taste for my husband and myself. Wausau has many fine eating establishments. We are very fortunate to be "foodies" in a town of the same bent. Tine and Cellar is consistently a winning choice on all levels.

Was a nice place to eat and enjoy yourself until you get a $150 unauthorized charge on your credit card and wait weeks and weeks for a manager to call you back who never does. Buyer Beware-Must be housing a scam operations for credit card theft! Let's see if you will call me back and acknowledge my several messages left with the bartender AND several voicemails, because God forbid it you have a Contact Us button on your website.-Probably still won't reach out. SMH. Be Careful out with your Credit Cards.

I like to get the fish and chips sometimes. I got it tonight and didn't know they changed it from a 2 piece to a 1 piece for the same price. Spent over 50 for my boy and I and I left hungry. I won't be back.

Was so excited to try this establishment after rave reviews from friends, hotel staff and staff from Granite Peak. Left disappointed and a little confused. While out bartender made fabulous drinks and an awesome non alcoholic (Dry January) Lingonberry cocktail for me the rest of our visit was far less memorable.

My friend received his food almost immediately and our bartender said mine would be out in a couple of minutes. After 20 minutes and my friend more than halfway through his meal I asked again for my meal. Five minutes later it arrived and I asked to speak with the manager. The kitchen manager returned and explained that the two tickets were rung in at different times and he fired up the Schnitzel first and didn’t see the ticket for the Steak & Frites, which I found odd? I simply stated that I was disappointed and that we came in together and wanted to enjoy our dinner together and at the same time. Again I expressed my disappointment for this situation in such a highly regarded restaurant. As my friend (now done with his meal) watched me eat mine the kitchen manager returned with the two chits showing me the difference of when the tickets were rung in??? Again, I explained I understood that things happens in kitchen with missed tickets
and I was just disappointed with the situation. I did not cause a scene and was not disruptive just wanted management to know what happened and NO need for the establishment to “prove their point”.

be a go-to! Starting off, the place itself is great! Nice furnishings, open, clean, and overall very inviting! Our service was great, with everyone being super helpful/kind. The food was great too! Personally, LOVE the truffle fries!

Came here with my sister -inlaws before Christmas day. Was excited to try for the first time. I looked at their website menu, and I was gonna try the lamb, but our server said they don't have it. I'm just a little frustrated that it's on the website menu, and they don't have it in the restaurant. So I ordered the pork loin instead. Truffle Fries are amazing and drinks!

Absolutely phenomenal restaurant! I have been to Tine & Cellar on numerous occasions, and every time has been delightful. The staff here are wonderful, and the service is great. Everything from their appetizers to desserts are not only delicious, but also beautifully plated. The atmosphere is nice, and the restaurant itself is very clean and well-organized. Tine & Cellar is truly a must for anyone who is in or visiting Wausau!

Incredible beer list. Cool atmosphere. Lotta great creative food options. Charcuterie board was nice.
Bar service follow up was disappointing. First bartender was cool and responsive. He reached end of shift and was done for the day. After that we were invisible. Empty glasses sat in clear view for 15 minutes. Not in a hurry to go back. Hopefully ours was not like a normal experience for others.

In our Party of 4, 1 order of The beefTenderloin, med—rare, came done as well, over salted, luke warm potatoes, and over salted asparagus. The other orders were the tenderloin with mashed potatoes and pickled beets, and the pork tenderloin was way over done, tough and chewy. The last order was the fish and chips that were nice. And as always the truffle fries were exceptional. But for the cost of 150 meal, it was a disappointment.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing and the service we received from our server Morgan was excellent. We are an odd bunch so I think she dealt with us wonderfully. Our group had a variety of things from the menu with decent results. Top tier Jagerschnitzel my partner was so happy with it, it was so crispy and flavorful! My sister's meal was the steak frites and it was okay, not a whole lot going on taste wise. My meal was definitely the lowest quality, I had the tine and cellar burger. My meal was sopping wet and I couldn't taste much past the jam on the burger (which is a taste preference so I'm not counting this against it too much). We were most excited for the lavender creme brulee but were disappointed by the raw sugar/wet topping we got instead of a caramelized crust. The drinks were flavorful and tasty. Overall, I would come here again but would choose my meal more carefully and pass on dessert.

We ordered the pasta dishes and were very disappointed. One was the vodka creamy sauce and the other was the lemon, white wine rosemary and capers. Well, both sauces were the same, more of a alfredo sauce. To spend $131 and to say the drinks were the only good thing. The sauces are just plain old alfredo sauce. Very dissatisfied. I wanted a break from my kitchen to adventure out and try good food. I should have stayed in my kitchen. Olive garden has better pasta.

Our group of 9 dined on a Saturday evening to celebrate a 40th anniversary. We were greeted warmly & the staff were accommodating & friendly. Our server, Phil, was especially excellent. He was patient, knew the menu well, & had a positive attitude which greatly added to our experience. The food was exceptional, and while I did not order a drink, I was told by others in our group they were delicious. I would highly recommend the truffle fries, it is nearly impossible to limit yourself to one serving. 5 well deserved stars 👏🏻
