This used to be one of our go to places but they've gone downhill in the past few visits. Food doesn't taste as fresh anymore, food isn't cooked as well and the server's that we've had didn't seem to care they got our order wrong especially when it effects someone with dietary restrictions. Very unprofessional manager when I brought up the situation I was argued with over the fact we didn't order our food right. If we say no of something that means we don't want it. Don't put it on and contaminate the rest of the food and scrape it off thinking that's ok. Very disappointing

I've eaten at many of the Madison-area restaurants and the Tipsy Cow is absolutely the worst. I've tried three things on the menu and regretted eating there every time. Their hamburgers are totally greasy, tough, undercooked (even when I asked for well done) and over priced- $14 for a hamburger with no side. I'll never eat there again.

In town for business. Tipsy Cow was a suggestion from a friend. Had the Tipsy Burger and a pint of Edmund Fitzgerald at the bar. Bartender was friendly and helpful. I know a few things about bars and I could tell the pint glass was cleaned properly. I ordered a cheese curds to-go.
The burger was exactly what I was hoping for. Just the right amount of grease. Very tasty! I think I could have eaten two. The curds were done just right as well. Very glad I decided to come here this evening.

Our burgers were top quality. Juicy and bountiful flavor. We enjoyed the half order of Carnitas French fries. So good! Pickles were both sweet and sour with crunch.
We were served by Olivia. Great service and happy to help us with a can-do attitude.

We were visiting my best friend and her boyfriend and she took us here for lunch. We sat in the patio area, and I had the Korean beef sandwich which was delicious! I had a regular lime margarita which was also tasty and not a bad price (especially for Madison area). My daughter had a cheeseburger off the kids menu which was huge and also came with yummy fries and mandarin oranges.Overall, great service, fun atmosphere and nice patio dining! The concept is great, and building placement is perfect, but execution of staff friendliness, food, and overall customer experience is poor. I’ve been to tipsy cow 3-4 times now and it just really doesn’t live up to the expectations. Service is usually lackluster or seems like it’s a bother on the employee to have to serve us. The food menu’s do rotate, which I do appreciate, but every time I go, it’s just flavorless. Everything from drinks, entrees, to appetizers, I just never feel tipsy cow never has anything worth noting or to go out of the way for.

Went here for lunch via a recommendation through work colleagues and being close to where I work.

Ordered food at the bar. Bartender was slow and preferred talking to other wait staff. I was the only one at the bar. So place was not too busy. Strike one.

Order the Cod Sandwich. Was supposed to be on split top bun. Instead came on a boring hamburger bun. Fish batter very greasy. Not crispy. After two bites the sandwich was a greasy mess. Yuk! Strike two.

Paid the bill with cash. Got no change back. Bartender assumed she must be deserving of a tip to do nothing. I thought about leaving a tip, but since the sticky-fingered bartender kept the change, I decided otherwise. I’d call this theft. Strike three.

The food, service, and atmosphere here is excellent. I’ve been here before and they have some of the best cheese curds I’ve ever had. We also got their sour cream and chive fries which were good but I’d recommend their truffle fries over these ones. I ordered the steak tacos and they were very well seasoned and delicious. Tried this on a recommendation for their burgers, went with the Tipsy Burger. The beef was insanely flavorful and juicy. The Nueskes bacon was great as expected. Terrible. The service was lack luster. Our waitress did not come and check on us for anything needed until we were completely done with our meal. BUT the worst part was they charged us an extra $3 for kids' drinks. Insane. This charge was not known until the bill came. Granted tIt didn't say drink included on their kids' menu I'll give you that ....but I've never been charged for kids' drinks in Wisconsin at a "family friendly" restaurant. When I asked to speak to a manager, he claimed they discounted their kids' menu items to account for the cost of drinks and that he couldn't do anything about it except talk to ownership. He claimed their kids' menu items were cheaper than other places. I've looked up the dinner prices of kids' menu items at neighboring restaurants (Mooyah... and Monk's are significantly cheaper by almost 50 percent) and surrounding areas. Those restaurants are all cheaper AND INCLUDE A DRINK. I paid $11 for a mediocre burger and fries with chocolate milk for my kiddo. Oh and don't forget the little cup of mandarin oranges. Lone Girl is the equal distance from my house and charges $9.50 for a kid's meal with a drink and much better quality. They will be getting our business over Tipsy Cow any day. I mean they can't even throw in chocolate milk ....

My only complaint is please salt your food. The quality and flavor of each dish is masked by the lack of salt and maybe that is a business decision and a problem that you wish the consumer to solve.

The tipsy cow undoubtedly has the best cheese curds anywhere on the planet. I have had so many and these are lightly breaded and pull apart and give you the best experience and flavor without being heavy and greasy. Although they are not pictured I wish everyone could try these.

The hamburger had such high quality meat with a good sear. But again, in my first bite I could tell that the beef was simply not seasoned or salted. A McDonald's patty has more salt that what you put on. Rather, the bite left me wanting so much more because without salt the beef flavor is not present. So, I simply had to take apart my burger and put salt on it and it completely saved it and all the flavors came out and together. It was one of the best I've had if you could salt it.

Same with the fries. Shake some salt on there and it was immediately better in every way.

Otherwise great place, everyone should visit - just ask for a salt shaker.

As of this writing it's my favorite spot in the area to grab some amazing food and have a beer followed by an old fashioned during dinner. I can see how not every menu item they serve may be "the best in town" but I continuously get the steak sandwich, buffalo chicken sandwich, or friday fish fry with blue cheese bacon fries and it never disappoints. Goat cheese curds and alligator bites are a twist that I'm personally a huge fan of. I'm always trying to go more often so I can try new things but getting away from my favorites is tough. Always friendly wait staff and always an enjoyable experience.

I ordered beer-battered fries and a fish sandwich. After taking a bite of the fish, I discovered it was full of bones. When I called the restaurant to express my concern, they informed me that the fish was supposed to have bones. Each bite had a bone. If I had known that, I would never have ordered it. We decided to try this spot for an early dinner and had an average experience. We were one of only a few people here, yet service was slow. Just moved to the area and thought we’d try this place. I will say the hamburger and fries were good. That being said we waited longer than needed to get anyone to acknowledge us at the table. Even though two people were clearing a four top right by us. It seemed like there was not a lot of direction going on for the workers, like the who was supposed to do what from just watching as we sat there. Once we were done and given our bill we again sat there longer than we should have. The server not only walked by more than once but also made eye contact. The food was always was excellent. Had the lamb burger. Could use a bigger patty of lamb but what was there was delicious. The beer menu is a very nice selection. Service was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere in the dining room is ok. It was very crowded and VERY loud during our visit. It was difficult to hear my friends. Otherwise a great experience!

Food was decent. Some dishes a little greasy. Menu has a lot of items that I would have liked to have tried. Service was poor. Sat with empty glasses halfway through our meal with no waitress in sight and it wasn't busy. Also had to hunt someone else down so we could pay because again our waitress disa

We always get excited by going here but stopped after about 5 times in 2 years. We kept getting horrible food. From wrong orders to blah taste. It is really disappointing since it's close to our house but we decided not worth the money anymore.

YUM! This place is known for its large appetizers, so we split a 1/2 order of cheese curds and then ordered a spicy steak sandwich, pork tacos and the tequila chicken salad. Needless to say the salad ended up being one of the best my dads ever had, great flavors all together and filling.
Sister enjoyed the pork tacos. And the spicy steak sandwich was incredible!!
If you’re in the area, this is definitely a place to stop. It’s significantly better quality than an Applebees but it’s near the same price point. Run don’t walk to Tipsy Cow!!

Ordered 2 sandwiches and some tater totts and clam chowder soup, they hand you your to go order in a stapled paper bag so you figure you got exactly what you ordered but nope. If you order to go here make sure the wait staff writes down what you want and check it before you leave

We enjoy Tipsy for the occasional meal out. Lunch or dinner. Korean fries or fish tacos and a beer are always a good start. Food is always good, but service is sometimes a little slow or disinterested with no urgency. We showed up once 45 minutes before closing and the staff told us they were closing soon, so we went to Monks. Atmosphere is nice but generic.

Generally good service but I had one stop in at around 8pm where I ordered wings and a bowl of chili. Initially had to wait about 10 minutes for the bartender to stop talking to a friend and a server at the end of the bar. Lots of laughing. No attention. I was one of two customers at the bar. There were no more than three table with diners. Finally made my order. 25 minutes went by without any food. Bartender still chatting with server and friend. Finally got her attention and asked about food. She checked with the kitchen and said it would be right out. 15 minutes later and still no food. Bartender still chatting. I’m the only customer. I finally just left without food.

Stopped here for dinner. The goat cheese cheese curd were fantastic. They stay soft even after cooling down. The nachos was great and had brussel sprouts. They are savory and sweet due to the bacon and balsamic glaze. The burger were great as well.

I have visited here many times. Their food is top quality. I like that they use local farms for their suppliers. Farm to table. The only complaint that I have is that it's noisy even if not very crowded. Makes it difficult to carry on conversations.

First time eating at the Tipsy Cow in Sun Prairie and we were pleasantly surprised.
We had a great server and our food choices turned out to be very good as well. We visited on a Friday so I tried the cod fish fry and my wife had a Tipsy burger. The fish had a nice crispy beer batter and was piping hot from the fryer which was a plus. The Tipsy burger was huge! The only negative was it came with a little too many fried onions, but that was an easy fix. It was a really tasty burger. We will definitely be back and reccomend the Tipsy Cow to our friends and family as a place to try if they are in the Sun Prarie area.

We were traveling through on our way home (MN->PA) and decided to stop here for dinner on a Friday night. It was pretty busy, but we were served very quickly and our food came out fast and everything was delicious. I got the walleye fish fry. My husband got the Tipsy Burger and my kids shared the chicken strips and a cup of clam chowder. Everything was 10/10. My husband now insists we stop here every time we drive out this way.

I was underwhelmed with the burger here. I wanted to like it, but one of the few times I wanted onions on my burger, and I got more onion than burg. The patty & cheese itself were rather bland, too. A shame cause my server was a great guy.

Grilled cheese sandwiches are loaded with cheese. Special salad of the day was large and very fresh. The tomato soup was nice but would have appreciated a bit of basil in it. Prices were a little high for lunch, but then again the portions were dinner -sizes. Overall, a delicious and filling meal. We recommend Tipsy Cow.

The food was very average. Our waitress didn’t tell us fries don’t come as a side which upped our bill for no reason. I would not recommend this place at all. Very poor establishment. Thumbs down.
