We dined in for our three year wedding anniversary. My husband just had hip surgery and staff was wonderful making sure he was comfortable! My husband also had flowers delivered to the restaurant and staff had them waiting at our table for me.
The food was phenomenal, I especially liked that it was smaller bite plates because you were able to order more of a variety and try multiple things!

Aug 2025 - Wonderfully cozy atmosphere, good food that could be great and service (R.S.) that was a bit spotty and disconnected. Maple brussel sprouts were excellent and the smaller size was still enough as a side for 3-4. Braised beef rib was exceptionally tender, plentiful in quantity but the sauce a bit too salty. The risotto base was a good combination. My guest had thd perch fry. Large quantity, a bit overcooked and served over a potato like pancake that was very dense we did not finish and not quite the right complement to the perch. Lots of other meal options from Tapas to muti course meals. We would come back.

Pretty disappointed. Our service WAS PHENOMENAL. Went there for my mom and dad’s birthdays. The duck confit was dry and highly disappointing. The risotto was crunchy and not cooked all the way. They did great on the veggies. Cocktails were great, but the food was lacking. Overcooked or undercooked or under seasoned. If I pay $300 + for a birthday dinner it better be perfect. It's such a treat to have dinner at Tofte's Table. 1st visit for our friends who joined us. We did the Chef's Tasting Menu and were spoiled with dish after delicious dish that came out of the kitchen, as well as the fabulous cocktails and mocktails that came from the bar. Duck Tostada's to start, then tomato and burrata on crostini w/EVOO & balsamic. Continued on with scallops w/pasta & microgreens, kielbasa with pickled cabbage and whole grain mustard, and steak w/truffled mashed potatoes.
Felt too full initially for desert, but we found some room for the dessert options they brought to us. Favorite is still the smores ~ great flavor and super fun presentation everytime 😋❗️

Very attentive service and modern atmosphere. Portions are small which makes it hard to share the small plate dishes (which is the case with this type of dining usually). If you ask, they do make recommendations based on portion size in terms of how many plates to order in order to feel satiated. Octopus and tenderloin were prepared well. Attempted to have an early-ish dinner here at 5:30pm on a Tuesday, but when coming in to an almost empty restaurant was told we would have to wait an hour and a half for a table by a hostess with an attitude. Group of 8 for 75th birthday celebration on 4/19. This was delayed from April 2020, when Covid shut things down for a while. Four of the guests had never dined here before so a new experience. Rebecca, our server, was fabulous. We kept her going all night and she didn't miss a beat.
Started with the Heidseick Monopole and Scharffenberg Rose bubblies for a toast. Some glasses of wine and craft cocktails. Order of the duck tostadas all around, rave reviews. Then on to several grilled vegetable platters, deviled eggs, bacon brussels sprouts, mushroom risotto to pass around. Entrees included scallops, seared tuna, grilled octopus, chicken and waffles, kielbasa, pork belly and braised short ribs. Sticky toffee pudding, creme brulee, flourless chocolate cake and the Smore's dessert to end the meal. We passed around tastes and everyone raved about the food and the ambience. A memorable meal. Next time, we'll try chef's tasting menu. One of the best restaurants in the area IMO.

We came because we had a gift card, and omg we are so glad we did! The food was phenomenal. The portions you get are so good for the price. The scallops are to die for. My husband got the tenderloin that came with mashed potato’s, simply perfect! And not to mention probably the best service we have ever had. Rebekah was great, she was fun, personable, and payed attention to the fine details. I know it may sound silly, but I love a lemon in my Diet Coke. Someone else brought me a Diet Coke and Rebekah noticed it didn’t have a lemon, and without asking or anything she brought one. It was like she read my mind. Scallop was delicious and paired well with the Risotto. I only got one so it was a good balance as Risotto is very filling. Octopus and duck were ok- I've had better and worse. But love their selection of different proteins! Kudos to that.
I do wish they filtered out the thyme from there drinks-sometimes you get a giant clump that over powers the flavor.

Very excited to dine here again, especially with an updated menu! We enjoyed two scallops with a creamy risotto and a lovely Beet salad before our main choices arrived. Seared Tuna was perfectly prepared along with the accompanying sides of potatoes and Haricots Verts. The added HB egg with olive tampenade made all the difference! One of our favorite items is the Short Ribs, done to perfection. Our server paced the entire evening so well, we never felt hurried. Cocktails and wine are fair priced. The food is good. Always has been. But why do they reserve bar seating? I went there recently at 5:30pm. Just trying to get a decent meal. There wasn’t a single person at the bar but they weren’t able to serve us because all bar seats were reserved. (Seems pretentious, especially for the area) We ended up at Room Service (the most difficult place to get a table in SE wi) because they don’t take reservations at the bar. The point is.. if you can’t get into the only decent restaurant in Waukesha between 5-9pm go east 20 minutes.. sit at a bar (none of them take reservations) and enjoy a night in the city… or reserve a bar seat in Waukesha weeks in advance

Waukesha is truly blessed with a vibrant dining scene, and Tofte's Table is a shining example of what makes this city such a great place for foodies. Exceptional doesn’t even begin to describe it! From the moment we walked through the door, we knew we were in for an incredible evening.

The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and intimate. The service? Top-notch. Our server was not only extremely knowledgeable about the menu but also made sure we had everything we needed. And the care they took to accommodate Anne’s gluten-free needs? Absolutely above and beyond. They didn’t just meet expectations; they exceeded them in every way.

Of course, the star of the evening was the food. We decided to go all in with the Chef’s Selection, a seven-course surprise tasting menu. Even though we were a party of four (and one gluten-free), they graciously made it happen for us. Every dish was amazing, both in presentation and flavor. Here’s a taste of what we had:

Duck Confit ‘Tostada’ – Crispy wonton topped with duck confit, shiitakes, bok choy, queso fresco, sesame tomatoes, and hoisin. A perfect start with layers of flavor.

Fried Chicken – This simple dish blew us away! Perfectly crispy drumsticks with coarse mustard, honey, and a maple drizzle. And the gluten-free version for Anne? Absolutely amazing and an unexpected treat. This might have been our favorite of the night!

Tomato & Burrata – Charred roma tomatoes paired with creamy burrata, red onion jam, basil olive oil, and balsamic glaze, served with grilled ciabatta. A fresh and flavorful highlight a real table pleaser.

Wisconsin Kielbasa – Butternut and russet hash, sautéed kale and Brussels sprouts, pickled red cabbage, and coarse mustard aioli. This dish brought together the perfect balance of savory and tangy.

Gulf Shrimp – Sautéed shrimp served over cheese ravioli with a sun-dried tomato cream, sautéed shallots, spinach, red bell peppers, asparagus, and fried parsnips.

Braised Short Ribs – Melt-in-your-mouth short ribs over parmesan risotto, with honey-glazed carrots and radishes in a rich braising reduction. The definition of elevated comfort food.

And for dessert? Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding and a Flourless Chocolate Cake (GF). Both were decadent, indulgent, and the perfect way to end an unforgettable meal.

The evening was nothing short of fantastic, and we can’t thank Jason and Cristina Tofte enough for the impeccable experience they’ve created. From the thoughtful accommodations to the warm, welcoming atmosphere, everything about Tofte’s Table is designed to make you feel at home while treating you to something truly special.

I specifically had the deviled eggs with the Pork Belly entree and 2 different martini drinks (a Cosmo and a special Blueberry Pomegranate martini that had some cool bubbles on top). The cheesy grits with the pork belly were so tasty! Other entrees that were ordered were the perch fry, chicken & waffles, the meatloaf, and the tuna entree. Third time at Tofte’s and have had a consistently great experience. There were 4 of us and we ordered a variety of dishes to share: maple bacon brussel sprouts, truffles sprouts, grilled octopus, duck confit tostadas, and the veal meat loaf with potatoes and seasonal vegetables. We finished off with 3 desserts: sticky pudding cake, (seasonal) lime tres leches and the crème brûlée. Every dish was delicious! I especially enjoyed the grilled octopus as it was tender and served over a generous bed of fresh greens. Perfect for a summer day. Our server was very helpful and would bring us new plates with each dish, as it is their typical service. Definitely will be back and hope to try their 7 course meal for a group.

What a gem in downtown Waukesha! Five of us us had dinner prior to attending a community theater play just a short walk from the restaurant.

We started with drinks that were familiar but with a twist! A smoked Manhattan served in what looked like a smoky terrarium. When opened, the fragrance alone was amazing. Their retake on the traditional Wisconsin Old Fashioned was beautiful and tasty.

Our server was great in walking us through the "small plate" experience, suggesting how best to pace our meal. The menu has lovely options that made it hard to choose which to try.

Everything was tasty! The atmosphere is beautiful and cozy, and despite being crowded, we could hear each other well. The staff is friendly, and it's a nice, different dining experience. Since it was packed, I suspect many others agree.

While being a bit different from a traditional high-end dining experience, it's not a once-and-done. I'm looking forward to going again to try other things and get more of what I liked best.

The interesting part was I'd expected our check would be far more. It came to a little over $40 per person! Considering we had 5 cocktails, 2 wines, and enough food tasting to leave us stuffed, it was a reasonable and a fun experience. For reference, we had at least 3 items from the starter list, and 6 or 7 from the entree menu.

The play was great too, giving us a wonderful night out, all without needing to move our car!

WOW. This is high cuisine, with incredible flavor combinations, presentation, and everything was delicious. This is also small plate/sharing type of meal. We ordered an entree and all shared each entree with a table of 5. The food was always enough for all of us, and we got around 3 or 4 entrees and dessert.

We had the Chicken and Waffle (I'm a chicken and waffle gal- but this was just a bit different. Bone In Chicken, and a lot of different flavors with Orange zest, and Different Maple flavor.. it was kind of a lot- so don't expect a normal chicken and waffle, this is a totally different sweet and savory and citrus experience.

We also had a few Appetizers and dessert. The flour less chocolate cake was VERY DECADENT. Shared amongst 5, big slice but each bite is so rich.

And the Cheesecake- again so many flavors but it was mind blowingly good. Not too sweet, but again, you only need a small amount to be satisfied.

This is an evening of sharing a colorful and adventure for the tastebuds for friends. Do not expect a standard American meal where the point is to eat as much as you can for less. No no. This brings back the joy of food and eating together again. The joy of trying the invention of flavors and cuisine genius.

And with small shareable plates it's emphasized in a beautiful way.

The atmosphere also feels intimate with dimmed lighting and quite fancy. You NEED a reservation, or call ahead to reserve if they have an opening. They were able to accommodate us even though we called day of and added another person. But not always because its not a super large dining room.

Just excellent. And the prices were quite reasonable, especially if you split the bill.

Tofte’s Table is hands-down the best date night restaurant in Waukesha. The food is always delicious. This time, we had the braised short ribs, scallops, mushroom risotto, and maple bacon Brussels sprouts. Seriously delicious. The staff was engaging and provided excellent recommendations for wine pairings. 10/10 recommend Tofte’s Table! We will be back soon!

Service was amazing. It was a bit loud inside and our table of 6 had a hard time having a conversation. Food was really good. The Truffle Sprouts were the best of the appetizers. Escargot was OK, octopus was super tender, but a bit bland and only had flavor if eaten with the salad w/ dressing. Would definitely go back to try other menu items!

My first visit that will for sure bring me back. Was with a group for Batchlorette Festivities. The Chef accommodations for dietary restrictions & food allergies among us were taken & executed to perfection. Every single course was so delicious. I'm a Seattle foodie transplant and this was by far the best meal I've had ANYWHERE, much less Wisconsin. Impeccable service and a divine meal. I am a loyal lifetime customer now. If I could change one thing, it would be how noisy it is, but you quickly forget about that after a couple of glasses of wine and once the food starts rolling in. I think you guys should upgrade to a bigger venue. You can rest assured that you will always be able to fill your tables.

We've come here a few times. You absolutely need reservations. I like the idea of shareable plates; every course can be sharable...not just appetizers. For our last visit, we got a little of everything...Caeser Salad, Maple Bacon Sprouts, Amish Chicken, Scallops, Shrimp, and the Tenderloin. Yeah, it was a lot of food, but it shared well within our group. Of course, each item can be packaged separately for leftovers. Everything was prepared perfectly too. What a great place!

We visited with a group of 8 for a business dinner and, upon recommendation of our server, enjoyed the multi-course chef’s selection menu, which also included dessert.

Food and atmosphere were great, but the waitress was keeping touching me on my shoulder and on my arm every time she came to my table. I did not know her. She is blond with many tattooson her arm. Love Tofte's Table. Been here plenty of times and it is always good. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming.

We came this time to taste the new fall menu. Made a reservation for a Wednesday night. The place was packed when we got there. Got seated right away. There were 4 in our party.

The drinks were all good. Got a mix of wine, specialty cocktails.

Had about seven different plates and saved room for dessert. We always like to try the new menu items. A couple of the one ones were really good including; shrimp and ravioli, and kielbasa.

We all agreed that the new Escargot was not up to our expectations. Too beefy and salty for our palates.

Had the Flourless Chocolate Cake and Creme Brulee. Great finish to an awesome meal.

Had my first visit to Tofte’s Table and was not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious, the service friendly, and the atmosphere nice. I sampled the Honey Martini, Tomato & Burrata, Butternut Shrimp, Braised Short Ribs and the Irish Cream Cheesecake. All were fabulous and generously portioned, but my favorite was the shrimp. What a treasure to have in Downtown Waukesha! I will be back!

Just had my second visit and I’m now hooked! I sampled the Maple Bacon Sprouts, which were really good! I also ordered a scallop. I’ve had scallops at many restaurants (in the Midwest and the east and west coast) and I can honestly say it was the best scallop I’ve ever tasted. I also tried the tenderloin and it was fantastic.

I’m convinced this is one of THE BEST restaurants in Waukesha County. Every bite was delicious, inventive even, and I can’t wait to come back!
