I find that the other sushi places in Madison focus a lot on the toppings, and that not only overpowers the fish they use but also kind of highlights how not great the fish is.

Tokyo Sushi is the closest thing that we have near us that reminds me of the good sushi and fish I've had where fresher fish is more easily available. Go here if you want *good* sushi.

This place is great! They always give us awesome and super fast service. The food is delicious and they have really good vegetarian sushi options. Our server even waited until my fiancé arrived to bring out the drink I ordered her (I got to the restaurant early, ordered, and reserved a table), so it was nice and cold still when she arrived. I didn’t even ask the server to do that, they just did a great job and went above and beyond. I pop in this place for lunch sometimes, definitely worth it. Not very expensive either, a sushi roll is only like $4-$5. I got yasai gyoza 🥟 veggie tempura and two different veggie sushi rolls to split with my fiancé and we were both full. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dined here recently with my spouse on a busy Saturday evening, but luckily we were sat quickly since we had reservations. Our table was at the front bar area which was pretty chaotic due to the number of people waiting for a table but settled down later as people were seated.

Food was very tasty, and I especially enjoyed the sushi I ordered from their a la carte menu. The mackerel and fatty salmon tasted particularly fresh. My spouse ordered hibachi and one of their specialty rolls which were both delicious and plentiful. Only downside was it took about 40 minutes for us to get our sushi after putting in our food order (hibachi came almost immediately). Overall, we had a great time and will be back.

Our new favorite go-to for vegetarian sushi since Sushi Box and Wasabi closed. They even make my favorite ACE rolls for us. (Avocado, Egg and Cream Cheese). Was super excited to try it out for the first time since I’ve seen it open for so long, quick glanced at the menu before coming and it looked good. We arrived and right away the lady was a little rude which was not a big deal but didn’t really add well to our experience, there was something on the menu that said sushi 5pcs for the appetizers and we asked if we could pick which meat went on the sushi assuming it was like crab or salmon over rice and it was sorta confusing but the waiter said something about not being able to do cooked meat though we kept saying we wanted raw, we just ended up having to get individual pieces which was more expensive, wish it could’ve been explained to us a bit more. I then order my sushi which on the menu said it had masago (fish eggs) on top of the roll which is my favorite part, I misread what was in it and didn’t realize there was eel which was dumb of me and not their problem but some other places with the same roll i got (dragon roll) usually has shrimp but I was fine with the eel, but when the order came and it had no masago on it, barely any drizzle of sauce and had mostly only cucumber and the smallest piece of eel! I could barely feel/taste it. I asked about the masago since that’s the main reason I got it and he sorta hesitated and said people don’t usually like it, but I was like ohh I love it and he came back with like a tiny pinch of masago in a dish I was just so disappointed and surprised cause it was my first meal of the day-I hadnt eaten till pretty late and I was just so excited about coming and for my order to not have a lot or none of the main factors of ordering it I was sad and felt like I wasted money. I also ordered the fried calamari and it had no seasoning or much flavor which sucked cause calamari is my favorite. Just super expensive food for not great quality which really sucks. I would’ve loved to keep coming back here since it’s in my area but there isn’t anything to come back for :/ our waiter also progressively started getting a bit short and quiet with us. Service wasn’t great but wasn’t horrible. Was hoping for more from this cute place on Willy :(

I have to say this is such a cute little sushi joint in the Willy Street neighborhood! We started off with some fried oysters that came with a sweet and sour sauce.

Next we had a couple of their sushi specialty rolls. I have a shellfish allergy and they were understanding of that which is always nice!

My favorite dishes were certainly the teriyaki salmon! The sauce was a sweeter thick sauce with great consistency. My friends ordered the Bento Box and the Steak and chicken hibachi meal.

Very quaint sushi restaurant. Don't be deceived by the residential dwelling exterior- it is a beautifully decorated Japanese restaurant with a full menu of Japanese cuisine including a large variety of sushis, bento boxes, and more (see complete menu in attached photos). There are also a wide variety of wines including domestic, Wisconsin local, and imported (Japan).

The service was prompt and consistent througout our visit. The prices were very reasonable for the high quality of the food. The miso tasted fresh and was very flavorful. The spicy combo was a delicious selection of tuna, salmon and California rolls.

We had immediate seating when we visited but the restaurant is small with limited seating. The wait times and seat availability probably vary based on the day of the week and time you visit.

The restaurant offers take out orders as well as dine in options.

The restaurant is located on Willy (Williamson) street so parking is difficult especially on the weekends. There is street parking that has a two hour limit. There is also residential parking on the neighboring streets.

Love coming here! I always get the Old Willie Street roll, but I tried the Snow White roll this time, and it was absolutely delicious! The place is nicely decorated and the service is great! There is a bar you can sit as well as outdoor seating.

I eat at a lot of sushi restaurants and this is one of my favorites - definitely my favorite sushi restaurant in Madison by far. The menu has plenty to choose from, the sushi is always fresh and professionally prepared and delicious. The cost is also very reasonable.
