Waited for the waitress to bring our bill, never showed, and had to go to the bar. Waited there, then when I went to talk to the manager, I got an attitude. "What we were not fast enough?" Our table was in a down pour of rain, and waitress never came to see how we were. Heard manger be really rude to another customer. I'm not sure , but I'm not going back .

We went out for some apps and to watch football, asked for no onions on our nachos took 20 min it ended up coming with onions,we sent them back, apparently a new set of nachos arrived without onions in 2 min as we put some in a plate their were a bunch of onions on the bottom that apparently the bartender and cook couldn’t see and pick out of our food!

I told the bar tender we could have picked through our own food and took out the onions and his faced dropped. He tried lying and said they only scrapped off the top and made a new batch on top, I said it’s kind of hard to do that with melted cheese and chips… no comment and No comps, free drinks or most importantly not even a sorry! Worst place ever!

by the time the appetizers arrived I had a beard and a cane and had gone completely deaf due to how loud the music was. I’m pretty sure the waitress read my lips because there is quite literally no way she would have heard me over the music.
this place was so loud that I could talk behind someone’s back while right in front of them.
when my food arrived, I was seeing stars. and I mean that literally. It was dark when my food arrived.
all in all, I’ll probably come back to eat here again. even if I have to eat lunch beforehand.
8/10, I loved it here. please turn the music down.

We arrived Wednesday night about 7:30pm from a long drive from Superior, WI. Needed a place to eat and relax. We chose Top Spot to our disappointment. The place was loud, the waitress came over after we sat down and asked what we wanted to drink, no happy welcoming smile, somewhat rude. We asked questions about the menu, she responded like it was too many questions.
After awhile because we were starving I asked if we could have our salad right away before the large nachos. She said "No because our order was put in together"???? Okay, at that time we chose to sit outside, we sat at the outside bar. The 2nd waitress that helped us out there was much nicer, we ended our meal there.
I'll never come back to this restaurant.
We stayed at the Balsam Lake Lodge, first time visitors. Very disappointed.

We've been there twice now, and each time, the food was lacking any flavor at all even though we ordered completely different items each time. The service is decent and seems better on the patio or at the bar. It is really loud inside, so if you're going with someone to have a conversation, I highly suggest sitting on the patio.

The owner, Hailey Elert, did not deliver my food the way it was ordered. She then refused to correct it and complained out me to her co workers right in front of everyone. She then proceeded to give me a grand total for payment later finding out she tried charging me twice for my order. She was very impolite and unprofessional about the whole situation. DO NOT SPEND YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE.

Have not been here yet as its quite a distance from home in Baron but noticed a few things in the images another patron posted. There is a FIRE EXIT with chairs blocking the exit which is against some type of fire code I imagine and looking outside, the door goes to a tiny balcony which if people were trying to escape certain death, they would have to jump down to a possible death. I guess that would improve ones odds of survival. would suggest to stay downstairs when eating here.

We ordered the pizza (deluxe). Everything on the top side was great, but the crust was not good. Very tuff like a sheet of boot leather. Tear off and attempt to chew. Not sure what you use for pizza dough, or maybe cooking at too low of a temp. Just being honest. We've ordered sandwiches and appetizers here before and everything was great, people are really nice and friendly. Inside is really nice, big TVs. Nice outdoor patio bar with TV.

Two weeks ago we stopped, one of the people in our group asked if they could make a chicken filet instead of the sandwich which they said they would. We were charged $12 which is FULL price for a chicken filet sandwich and fries. Brought this to the attention of another staff who said she couldn't adjust the charge. We should have gotten the rest of the meal if it cost $12. We won't make this mistake again because we won't be back.

The manager running the bar at night was rude and disrespectful. The owner/manager went by Kyle and he proceeded to take our beers that we bought at their bar because the patio prohibits glass even though their bartenders sold it to us. He then would not refund or replace the beer because the “funds wouldn’t add up” and he told us to just buy another one even though they kept serving glass.

If I could give this place a zero star rating, I most certainly would but that was not an option. For being an individual in the bar as a non-drinking sober cab minding their own business with not a single word to be had. I was approached and told that I wasn't welcome there without a purchase in hand while I was there as a sober cab for my two liquor purchasing friends just minding my own business. I couldn't believe the words that I had just heard be said. Not only was it exceptionally rude for an employee working in an industry that should be showing hospitality but it was the most dehumanizing and inhumane service I have ever received in my life. I am not a local, therefore this was the first time my presence had ever been made here. And I was unjustifiably targeted and demoralized prior to there being a single word ever leaving my lips in response to my ongoing experience. But yes, I will proudly take the accountability for calling that Haley b**** a c***. For it was by far not the cause of reason in which I was mistreated with such unacceptable behavior. I closed with that finishing statement. Which is even shallow coming from me, being thats not even my spoken language.. Honesty is. And the honest truth to the matter is, this is one very poorly ran business who has not a lick of interest in building interpersonal relationships but more so along the lines of conflict of interest.

Went in yesterday with my girl and a buddy. She doesn’t drink so she drives and just had water. The bartender told her that she was loitering and needed to buy something even though my buddy and I had 5 drinks between us. The owners wife (Haley) was the underlying issue. We have had a cabin on BL since 1954. We have seen a lot of bars and restaurants come and go. The TOP Spot was owned by a cousin. I ordered a cheeseburger on 10/4/22.
Really bad. Overdone and the fries, which I did not order were brown and soggy.

The food just wasn't that good. They were very busy in their defense. I ordered. A Reuben and I would never order one again. It wasnt horrible, bit to much sauce on the sandwich.bi can't remember tasting any cheese probably because of the excess sauce. I don't recall there being a lot of saurkraut either. Bread on the sandwixhwas good. Super hot in there and the bartender who took my never smiled or made me feel very welcome. Lots v of people in the bar, so I waited outside. Took a little longer Than they estimated. The bartender suggested I pay immediately after ordering. I don't tip until I get my food. This seems to keep service alive par. I'm not just referring to Top Spot, but all the restaurants in Balsam Lake. I'd be curious to know if anyone else has experienced this?

Amazing Whiskey Burger! Super juicy and cooked perfectly! The bun was slightly toasted as well. The bartender/owner was amazing. Full bar and tables. She kept the customers happy and had time to chat. The atmosphere is great. I will be back again to enjoy the outside patio! The other customers were also funny and had great conversations going.

Stopped after my son got married at the courthouse. There were 14 of us. Bartender was very nice. It was a little loud downstairs, so the bartender said we were welcome to go upstairs. We would have to bring our orders down but she could bring the food up. So we went up, the table wasn't big enough so my son and his best man, started putting tables together. Some guy came out of this room upstairs and told us the pool table is broken, and that the tables were stacked there for a reason. Then told us the bartender wasn't going to be able to run food upstairs and was basically really rude to us. If this was the manager, he should be fired. If he was the owner, he needs to sell the bar. We ended up leaving and going down the street. Had a much better experience and enjoyed our lunch. Top spot is not a place I would go to ever again. If I could give it zero stars I would. I've never been treated so badly by anyone or anyplace. I feel sorry for the bartender.

Absolute terrible experience. Went into the bar, order a cocktail for my wife and I. Asked for our discount on our appetizers and I get the response " maybe you should of let your bartender know you had a half price app." Well you she was outside, and her fill in helped us. Then she came off hostile towards us. She poured out my drink and my wifes drink and my wife did nothing wrong. So top spot never again. I want to like this place because the patio and restaurant itself are nice. Pizza was horrible however (seemed to be a frozen pizza heated up) and the beer selection leaves a lot to besides since there is only one IPA then about 20 light beer options. Not a positive that I eat vegetarian/plant-based but maybe the burgers are good?
