My boyfriend and I wanted to order 2 of there Butterquash Soups, after eating the day before a meal in the dining room and wanted take out tonight. We were
rudely treated and had to jump threw 3 people who in the end said, we can't give you soup we are very busy, understaffed and gave some other excuse. We were told to order at the bar and in the it's my belief, they didn't want to waste our time due to a low paying order. I would also warn people they run out of food quickly there because I heard other customers being told that we're out very simple things. The place is very chaotic and the services was horrible. This restaurant has a definite type of people they serve, and in the end because we didn't spend $200.00 like yesterday, we were treated very unfairly. My advice is don't go there ever.

The young man behind the bar was friendly and attentive. Otherwise I thought the service left a bit to be desired. Very good salad and desert. Seafood pasta was fine. I would go back and order differently. They were also very busy with some boating event in town.

High expectations of a fantastic meal fell flat, unfortunately. Firstly, I had a hard time understanding the waiter. I’m not sure why. Was it because we can’t drink and didn’t order any alcoholic drinks that he didn’t put in an effort? Or because we wanted to eat vegetarian? All the things that brings a bill potentially higher in price? He kept trying threw times to push the veal, which had the higher ticket price. It was ALMOST laughable. But I don’t eat veal and neither does my partner. Then, he talked us into a special appetizer: two tiny arancini with a piece of doughy bread swirled around mortadella. The arancini were really good but so tiny. Turns out that dish was almost $30. I would have never have spent $30 on an appetizer. I ordered the pasta with fresh mozzarella. He was not happy when i didn’t add meat to it, and made a point of stating this loudly. “Pasta with no meat.” Silly me. I thought pasta came with cheese. Uh, nope! You will need to order the grated parmesan separately. The food was overly salty, no doubt to help their sale of beverages.
When a restaurant tries their nickle and dime you and their waiters start to become surly when you’re not making the bill high enough, then it’s a restaurant whose priorities are not yours: a decent meal and customer service. Hello? I would skip this restaurant. That food was not all that great and the service is lousy. Oh, and the waiter tried to get us to pay someone else’s bill. Nice try!

Great authentic Italian restaurant in Sheboygan. A real taste of Italy by lake Michigan. This and Il Ritrovo are our favorite Italian restaurants in the US. We have been missing some real ingredients from our across the pond but they really nail it here with real mozzarella di buffala, grana padano, san marzano tomatoes, melanzane and a lot of passion in the recipes. We were surprised by a recipe that I have been a fan since I tried it back in Italy more than 12 years ago, pasta aum aum. What a shock from the past. Great people, great food and an unforgettable experience.

You ever been to Palermo Wisconsin, with authentic photographic journeys and diligent research expeditions back home to Palermo Italy? If one wanders carefully through the evidence on the walls, one finds meetings with authentic Italians with grand smiles and subtle mob ties that may or may not continue to the shibogan area. I can’t tell if this conflicted legacy impacts the criminally good quality of the pizza but I am thrown to say I’ve had among the best pizzas of my life in this carefully constructed and popular local establishment and will dream of it for some time. As much as I hate the word shibogan, with a sensation that on utterance resembles nails on a chalk board I will never forget it for the pesto special.

We really enjoyed Trattoria Stefano last week. The Saturday night buzz was in full swing. While we had to wait much longer than expected for our 7 pm reservation, it was worth the wait for such a great table. Thanks to McKenna for that touch! Our server, Richard, was extremely knowledgeable and made some great food and wine suggested pairings. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal, and will definitely return when we're back in Sheboygan. What a gem! And don't miss Il Ritrovo across the street, for lighter pizza/pasta fare...thank you for a memorable and delicious visit to your town!

Incredibly thoughtful ingredients chosen by people passionate about good food, and cooked to absolute perfection. An absolute must if you're in the area. The highlight of our trip to Kholer Spa. In fact, next time we visit Chicago we will be making a trip up here just for dinner again. August gave me and my bestie the most amazing evening after a comedy of errors kinda day. Absolutely great time last night. Carpaccio app was perfect, an amazing salad of greens, artichoke hearts, grapes, dried cherries and a dozen other things was a perfect taste delight. Our special of the night, lamb lasagna was light, perfectly sauced and ideal for sharing. We shared all three items and it was perfect for the two of us. The true highlight of the night was our server, August, who was well versed in the menu, and a true delight as he kept busy with several tables and keeping a hilarious but not iver the top banter going. Will most certainly return. Kudos to the entire staff. It was a most enjoyable time.

Amazing food! We were in for the night with a toddler in bed while visiting a local resort and called to inquire about takeout. The food was packaged so well and just as delicious as if we dined in. Enjoyed a New Years Eve dinner here! It was really wonderful overall. The place is cute, service is great. The food was a pre fix menu so I can’t speak for the regular menu. It was delicious, especially the Antipasti. Wine selection and cocktail list was extensive. The owner was present during dinner service, Whitney, which I loved! She’s personable and welcoming (support local). I would highly recommend this place to everyone visiting Kohler, it’s a 10 minute drive from the hotel properties.

so happy to have visited! the ingredients were so unique and tasted SO high quality. after browsing the menu i felt like i could choose anything and it would blow me away. the cocktails were well crafted and the meals were very well done. our highlight was the smokin barb cocktail and their chicken dish - so tender & juicy accompanied by the best prepared potatoes. also our server had a lot of character and passion and totally added to our experience. loved ending the night with quality espresso.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in the Midwest. We discovered it during a birthday weekend celebration while camping at Harrington Beach State Park, and it exceeded our expectations for a "nice" dining experience to culminate the birthday. This establishment stands out as one of the finest Italian restaurants I have encountered. Dining here evokes the comforting sensation of being welcomed to a grandma’s / nonna’s kitchen, where every dish is a testament to home-cooked, soul-satisfying Italian cuisine.
The food is exceptional, complemented by a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. It is evident that the staff take genuine pleasure in their work, as reflected in their demeanor and extensive knowledge of the menu and its ingredients—a notable asset. The ossobuco was superb, and the Trenne Donna pasta, with its rich array of flavors, was nothing short of extraordinary.
Though I am not of Italian heritage, the experience transported me to the warmth of my Armenian grandmother’s kitchen, blending the charm of home cooking with the sophistication of fine dining. Each bite evoked nostalgic memories of cherished meals, leaving me profoundly satisfied.
I highly recommend this restaurant; it certainly merits far more recognition than it currently receives.

The food was absolutely incredible. I'm upset I paid 153$ and our server forgot our old fashioned , after waiting so long we stopped another server to grab us something else. Didn't bring any bread to our table till after I asked well after our appetizer came out. I had one small glass of water and he didn't ever come to refill it again or my boyfriends. Ordered a tiramsu at the end and he forgot to bring us it and we had to go ask someone to get us one to go because we were just ready to leave at that point . He barely came to the table , we wanted more stuff but he was just never around . For 153 I kind of expect better service then that. That was my first time here and it makes me not want to come back even though the food was great. My experience was ruined by being annoyed majority of the dinner waiting around this guy.

My review of Trattoria Stefano: Often, when you return to a place cloaked in fond memories of nostalgia, it lets you down. It's like seeing an old flame thirty years later, and you question the original infatuation. Well, Stefano's stirred my passions as if 15 years meant not a thing. After strolling Sheboygan's beautiful revitalized waterfront, we drove to Stefano's, parking in their rear lot. The restaurant looked the same, and we found two empty seats at the large front room bar. Ashley, behind the bar, was gracious and helpful, and we ordered wine from Stefano's eclectic offerings. While not as groundbreaking as 20 years ago, the wine list is still interesting and has reasonable pricing. We ordered Caesar salad, two pastas, the stuffed veal chop, a sausage dish, and the Tiramisu. The Caesar was fantastic and unique, with a sublime crunchy taste. That alone was worth the price of admission, but the veal chop was a stunning crescendo, maybe the best I ever had. Pastas were as good as I remembered. The ragu was simply delicious. My spouse thought her sausage dish was okay but nothing special. Tiramisu was ordered to go back with us to Milwaukee. Later, the restaurant was so packed on a Tuesday night that Ashley left to help out in the kitchen. Greg aptly took over, and the service did not miss a beat. The one discordant note was when I asked to tip the kitchen staff. Ashley led me to the kitchen, and I passed over a $20.00 and received nary a smile or thank you. Perhaps they were too exhausted. However, it was a wonderful evening, and hopefully, it will be repeated soon. Oh, the pricing was very reasonable.

Very good Italian. Cool location in Downtown Sheboygan. So five stars would be on par with best Italian I ever had, 4 stars. This was up there. Authentic, great food with one small issue. My chair wasn’t comfortable. A great restaurant like this and you’re going to be there a while. When we were done my bottom was ready to go.

First time we visited this establishment and it was truly because the host was very very accommodating to our party of 5- 2 adults and 3 young kids. It’s always very hard to get good service and food with little ones in tow and this place did exactly that! We had FANTASTIC cocktails, amazing apps and above average pasta and food. Our waiter was very kind and apologized for not coming often which truly we couldn’t even tell because we were always offered different cocktail suggestions so that’s always good in our book! Almost 6 years ago my now husband and our good friend visited Stefano. To this day it was THE best dining experiences we ever had. We were young, intoxicated, and honestly had no business being in such a fine establishment, but regardless the wait staff treated us with the utmost respect. What I’d give to remember the waiter’s name in order to give him the recognition he deserves. His knowledge of the food and wine would impress even the most seasoned fine dining connoisseur. Unfortunately I can’t recommend anything I ate because the menu has changed and I barely remember the night. However, I do remember devouring everything on a charcuterie board. 5 stars! 😘🤌🏽

Outstanding meal, we started with the Seppie alla Plancha. Then shared the Rustica salad. My wife had the Casarecce Della Nonna. I had the Ravioli al Gorgonzola e Cipolla with the two house made sausages: wild boar with mushroom and lamb Barese. We finished off with the Tiramisu. Service was great and the atmosphere was great as well. Expect a healthy bill but the meal was well worth it.

Been coming here for a long time, it was my favorite place to eat for a long time. Something isn’t right there now, ordered ossobuco as usual but it was different ! Rissoto was white not yellow and meat was overcooked ! Everything on my plate looked like it was put together in the hurry, just didn’t looked right. To be honest I am very disappointed.

The food was pretty good. We had the mozzarella al forno as an appetizer, and that was very delicious. We had also ordered one of the specials and spaghetti ai fruitti de mar, which were also good.
The atmosphere was nice.
There was only one complaint about our experience. There was a mix-up in the kitchen, and another table got our entrees. Which is fine - mistakes happen. The issue we had is that nobody came to our table to tell us or apologize. We saw them tell the table that got our food, but not us, and we were sitting at the table next to theirs. We waited roughly 45 minutes after we finished our appetizer before our entrees finally came out, but still nobody said anything to us. The only time the mistake was acknowledged to us was when we brought it up when we got the check. Our waitress seemed friendly enough during the service, and it wasn't her fault to begin with, but we still should have had the situation explained to us ahead of time instead of us figuring it out ourselves. It did not seem like she was going to say anything until we said something first. That's the part that bothered me the most and kind of ruined the rest of dinner. I think there is a training opportunity here to teach the employees to make sure both parties involved in a situation are taken care of right away instead of just one.

Sort of a so-so response for my first visit the restaurant is fairly crowded, tables crammed together, great service but I'd only give the food four out of five (maybe even three and a half out of five), the appetizers were much better than the entree, can't say I'll go out of my way to eat here again.

In Sheboygan you cannot find more authentic, high quality Italian food. I had the rigatoni con mozzarella. My visit went fairly well. Service seemed just a hair slow when it came to retrieveing our drinks and taking our order. I do wish they could do more with the interior as it seems a bit lacking. If they played music a notch louder or had more ambient lighting the environment would seem more appealing. Overall it is a nice escape from the mundane and repetitious everyday food

Went in had dinner at the var. The Frutti De Mari does not come with traditional linguine ? Spaghetti instead? Oh well. So the I did not order Fra Diablo, this is how it came out. I kindly ask for when I was done. And placed my credit card in the check book, my credit card slid out of the check book and hit the floor. And no staff was able to my card. The situation when sideways. As they were accusing me of not wanting to pay the bill. And only cared about their payment.
My card was never found.
As I left feeling very frustrated.
This place does welcome out of towners, clearly including any guests of major generator manufacturers companies in the area.
The whole situation was handled completely unprofessional at its worst level.

Very lovely experience here, I called and made a reservation for 17 people on relatively short notice and the staff worked very hard to get us in. They were able to make our reservation for a bit later at 8:00 p.m., but the table was ready early which was nice. Staff was super helpful on site, service was great and The food was also delicious. Really nice ambiance at this restaurant, I'd say it's one of the nicer places in Sheboygan which worked out well because we were treating clients to a dinner. Highly recommend for the experience overall, be aware The prices are a bit higher but you get what you pay for here.

One of the best Italian options in the Midwest. Amazing, authentic food. Fresh ingredients prepared in simple and often quite interesting ways is the key. Much of the pasta is made in house.
The wait staff is welcoming, fun and very knowledgeable. You would expect a place like this in a larger, urban environment. Not to be missed any time you're in or near Sheboygan. Absolutely worth the drive!

A group of us from Chicago were in town for an event at JMKAC and decided to have dinner at Stefano’s based on a few recommendations. We had to be rolled out of there - our bellies were full with exceptional food! We ordered many appetizers, salads, pastas, and bottles of wine. I can’t forget that we ordered the entire desert/dolce menu - torta della nonna was a stand out. Everything was fabulous, our server - Antonio or Augusto (young brown haired man) was attentive, knowledgeable, and sweet. From a-z, appetizers to zuppa, Stefano’s has you covered. Highly recommend this hidden gem. We will be back later this summer and can’t wait to enjoy the few dishes we didn’t order.

Romantic, lovely atmosphere with delectable food and impeccable service. My husband and I stayed in Kohler but drove over to Sheboygan for dinner at Trattoria Stefano due to its high rankings, and we were not disappointed. After a round of two different types of bread (both delicious) dipped in olive oil, we ordered the salad special of the night, which we agreed was the best part of our meal: fresh arugula with a very light lemony dressing, paired with thin strips of prosciutto, melt-in-your-mouth fresh mozzarella, blueberries, figs, and a balsamic drizzle. Our waiter Antonio was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and made great recommendations, including the afore-mentioned salad and a glass of wine (one red, one white) for each of us. We decided to try the meatball appetizer, which was good but not anything astounding--the sauce was the best part. For our main courses, I had the homemade pear ravioli in the brown butter sauce and my husband ordered the osso bucco. Both dishes were amazing! The semi-sweet ravioli was complemented and perfectly balanced by the salty brown-butter sauce. The osso bucco plate was gorgeous--as you can see by my photo--and the flavor pairings were memorably tasty. We almost always order dessert, but this time we couldn't because the portions were so generous and we were so happily full! The prices were quite reasonable for the quality and quantity of food we received. We agreed we'd return again!

Very nice place. Staff is excellent!! Food was superb!! But the price wasn't!! 48 bucks for the plate that I had!! Not a lot of meat for that price!! 30 bucks for that plate is what it should have been!! The beets were cold!! They have a large drink menu. Parking is on the street and you have to feed the meter beforehand.
