Always understaffed and the staff that shows up are so rude and don’t even greet you, I waited for my mobile order 15 after it said it was ready only for me to get home see it was wrong and drive all the way back for the cashier girl to give me a dirty look when I handed it back asking if they could remake it then she just walks off with it. I’m sorry but you made my order wrong and I drove all the way back the least you could do is say sorry and remake it no need to be rude to me and they’re like this every time I went to the point I will not be coming to this location anymore too expensive to be treated like that.

The smoothie was delicious! But I would remind the staff that customers have a choice when purchasing with a credit card. The POS terminal asks if you wish to include a gratuity, which I usually do, having worked for tips for many years. But if you are unable to welcome customers, ask politely for their order, thank them for visiting, and wishing them a nice day, you will never earn a good tip. Customers have choices and they can easily go elsewhere to buy lunch and reward good service and food with a generous tip. Good luck developing great customer service skills!

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I am a frequent customer and recently have been experiencing many challenges with customer service. On more than one account my order of typically one smoothie takes 30 minutes. Today several orders were completed before mine. My smoothie was ultimately left on the back counter, forgotten about. When I finally got it, it was no longer blended well and basically juice. I leave this review so that hopefully the west side of Madison location can receive support with staff coverage. It has been very chaotic within the store.

I love Tropical Smoothie Cafe. This review is specific for the West Madison location off of Mineral Point Road. The Bahama Mama bowl is my favorite item. This time, I ordered that, a wrap, and a smoothie to go..when I came home and pulled out my bowl, it looked like someone had eaten half of it. Super disappointing. They are around $10 each. I haven't had this happen before, so not sure what changed. There were 2 strawberry chunks, 3 pineapple chunks, and about 4 pieces of granola. Not the norm. I won't be back to this location.

Healthy alternative to fast food chains, love the vibes of this place, friendly and attentive staff on their University Avenue location. One server in particular remembered me and how I want my smoothie served. No straws! Place is Clean! My new favorite place to get smoothie and meet up with friends. When I was in a different city in Wisconsin and when I was at the outskirts of Illinois I looked for it and glad to have found a Tropical Smoothie location.. Literally the worst wrap I have ever received. Asked for no lettuce and the thing was loaded in almost nothing but lettuce, almost like an insult. I got the Thai wrap which had no peanut sauce at all. Everything was bland and the wrap itself was stale and dry. Smoothie was also watered down and bland. Lastly, the side was clearly reheated. Ordered a Thai chicken salad - it was essentially old romaine (starting to brown), a little bit of grated carrot, a small amount of chicken and maybe cilantro? The Thai peanut dressing was basically just sugar syrup. Terrible $10 salad

The detox island green smoothie is good though. Know that any other regular smoothie on the menu is not going to be "healthy" from a sugar standpoint. You can opt to remove the added sugar from any of the smoothies and they will still taste good.

Feb 2023: Great to have a Tropical Smoothie Cafe so close. Great wintery day in Madison Wisconsin for a smoothie. I tried the Island Green which has Kale and Spinach along with mango, pineapple and banana. For a health food place there are terrible options for vegetarians without making the food tasteless. They also put tons of sugar in their smoothies here and if you remove the sugar the smoothie will be bland.
