Customer service is fantastic, and the food is tasty as well. I didn't like the shrimp taco, but the BBQ taco was great. It's a mexican fusion restaurant, but it's really good. I highly recommend this restaurant just for the customer service alone. Everyone was super friendly and very attentive.

Turk’t has a great vibe—both the bar and seating area are super nice, very clean, and in the summer everything opens up, making it a really fun spot for drinks downtown. The bartenders are friendly, and service is usually good. Honestly, I only come here for the drinks because they’re always excellent and never disappoint.

Now, about the food… I’ve given it a few tries, but it just hasn’t been good. The Brussels sprouts are always mushy and overcooked, the tacos are tiny, and the shells fall apart before you can even take a bite. Definitely not worth it for the food.

That said, if you’re looking for a nice atmosphere and delicious drinks while walking around downtown Beloit, this is the place. Just stick to the bar side of things—you won’t regret it.

It was our first visit here since movie to the area, it did not disappoint. Excellent food, and very friendly staff. The house margarita was definitely one of the best I've had. We'll be back soon. Oh and the atmosphere is amazing.

Be aware, Truk't features thoughtfully and boldly flavored street tacos, not traditional southwest or Mexican tacos. These feature show stopping meats such as pork belly, pulled pork, and short ribs, and blend flavors that result in rich, bold flavors that are fantastic. The option to choose 3 or 4 different tacos at a bit of a price break offers the chance to blend flavors without emptying your checking account. We also had elotes which features a little twist on the traditional recipe and it was great. Add to that, 2 cocktails which were smartly assembled and well executed. The dining area is roomy, rustic, comfortable, and clean. Service was very good, with great attentiveness and speedy response.
This is a fantastic place to eat that after only 1 visit, has become one of our favorite local restaurants. Just GO ALREADY!! 👍🏻

This used to be one of my favorite places. My husband and I went for a lunch date and we were severely disappointed. The guacamole came with radishes which was odd, and we weren’t told about it when ordering. We also found pieces of the avocado peel in the guacamole. It also was such a small amount we had a towering bowl of chips and after about 10 chips in total it was gone. The tortillas tasted uncooked and old. They were hard on the edges and falling apart in the middle every time you’d pick it up to eat it. All of the tacos were very bland and greasy. They had all of the doors open, which usually wouldn’t be a problem, except there were a mass amount of flies and bees constantly flying around the tables and landing on the food and drinks. More than likely won’t be back.

Food was very bland. Not only was it bland, it was very much overpriced for how unappealing it is. The queso tasted like dirty armpits, and the red salsa was sweet and more akin to Marinara sauce. The tacos themselves were tasteless and dry. Paid near $60 for 2 people and it was awful. Will never be going back.

Extremely Disappointed – Will Not Return

I’ve been to Truk’t a few times as a local and had high hopes bringing friends from out of town for my birthday. Unfortunately, this experience was awful from start to finish.

Our group of 8 was told a 25–30 min wait, which was fine. Once seated, it took over 45 minutes just to get water—only after asking twice. Appetizers arrived with no silverware, plates, or napkins, and we had to flag down our server just to place our food order. Then it took another hour to get our meals. Only 6 dishes were ordered, and most came out cold and incorrect, with the server unsure who ordered what.

When we asked for help, the manager approached with an extremely rude attitude, used profanity, refused to fix or comp anything, then suddenly yelled at us to leave. As we were gathering our things, one friend took a single bite of her food, and the manager came back, snatched the plates, and threatened to call the police.

Later that evening at a nearby bar, a bartender from Truk’t approached my fiancé, yelled at him, and threatened to “punch him in the throat” for standing up to the manager.

I’ve worked in the service industry, and my fiancé was a food service manager for years—this is not how guests should be treated. Truk’t seriously needs to reevaluate its management and staff professionalism.

Absolutely unacceptable experience. We won’t be returning. If I could give it zero stars I would.

We came in with a table of 8, which I understand is a decent amount of people. We waited for over an hour to get water on the table. Our waitress had said they were out of glasses, however, as someone in the service industry, grab a different type of glass. The point is to serve the customer and give them the best experience possible. Our food took forever to come out. Once we brought it to attention, we were told it would take 20 mins more. Then it came out cold. After we explained our frustration again we were told that our food would be comped, therefore we could leave. Then the manager proceeded to take the food out from under us and told us to leave otherwise she would call the cops.

If I could give zero stars I truly would. I have never left a review anywhere and I would consider myself to be pretty understanding when it comes to the food industry as I’ve had multiple jobs working as a server and bartender but my experience here was absolutely unacceptable.
We came in last night with 8 people, granted it is a decent amount of people for a table. They had a 25 minute wait which we were fine with. Once we were able to get a table and sit down we all ordered waters and some of us got a few other drinks. We also ordered a couple apps right off the bat. It took 45mins to an hour to get the waters after we had to ask where they were. The server proceeded to say they were so busy they were out of their water glasses. Okay but we were never told that and had to ask why we weren’t getting them.
It took about 45 mins for us to get that apps which were pretty good but had no silverware and napkins and the busser cleaning the table noticed we needed some and got us them (she was more acknowledging than our server). We had to flag our server down to finally put our food order in. 7/8 of us ordered food and 2 people were sharing so 6 orders of food. It’s going on almost an hour of not getting our food. Our server comes over and tells us it’s going to be another 20 mins and we are very upset. She said she would get a manager and we agreed
The manager comes over with an attitude already. This lady should be fired from being a manager anywhere. She clearly lacks customer service, how to make things right and making sure her guests not only have good service but a good experience as well but I believe she’s tanking that for this restaurant…she proceeds to tells how busy it is and busy it’s been that night and it’s the busiest they’ve been this season. I completely understand that but when we were told another 20mins on our food there was at least 6-8 tables open and the bar had openings. Certainly not too busy at that time. We asked to get some comps and said she “can’t comp the food but can comp the apps and drinks” we agreed. Not even 5 minutes later somehow our food is out even though they said another 20 mins. Our server had no idea what the food was that she was serving and messed everyone’s orders up. I got 3 steak tacos nothing fancy…it’s cold. Not even lukewarm completely cold. I am not one to make a big deal on things but at that point it was just ridiculous. We got the manager over again because almost everyone’s food was cold. We told her and she proceeds to tell us all the excuses in the world once again that we’re so busy and our kitchen can’t keep up. Again…it’s not busy at this time and there’s no other big tables. We tell her we’re not paying for this and she told us she would not comp it or even tried to offer any redos for our food. None of us are looking for handouts. We had every intention in paying for our food but this is something that does not deserve to be paid for unfortunately. She walked away and just kinda yells at us saying we will comp everything and you guys can leave. We were just talking about the situation and some people did proceed to eat their food.
A few minutes later I see out of the corner of my eye someone’s plate being taken…she takes everyone’s plates mind you people are mid bite in their food and she says you guys can leave or I will call the cops. As if we’re the ones who did any wrong here…

Not to mentions the two lady’s next to us were also having the same issues with the server hardly coming over and their food being cold. And they said they will not comp anything for them.

After this experience I would never recommend anyone to come here. They need to get new management who actually cares about what they’re doing and cares about the people they are serving. Times are tough and sometimes people can only afford to go out once in a while so we look forward to it and they completely ruined that.

Went to trukts for a friend’s birthday dinner with 8 people. Our waitress took our drink orders as we sat down, we did not get out drink, For 45 minutes just before our apps came out, at that point we had to ask for silverware and plates after receiving apps, The apps where very good that we received such as the trio and chicken nachos. After apps we waited for food for over an hour which there was not many people in the restaurant for the hour we where waiting for food, so we asked the waitress how our food was doing and the waitress let us know it was going to be another 25 minutes before our food comes out, she then got the manager who was very rude and had every excuse possible such as they don’t have enough cups for water and not enough silverware, she then said she would comp some of our drinks which was okay. 5 minutes later we received our food and it was cold as it could be like it was sitting out for the hour that we where waiting for it so we told the manager our food was cold and once again she came out very very rude, Eventually telling us she would comp our food so we where eating as she walked around and took everyone’s plates in the middle of eating. Also the women behind us had cold food with horrible service as we received as well they also refused to eat.

Much smaller than average and I've eaten a lot of street tacos. If you want a fun environment, go ahead, but if you want to leave full, don't waste your money.

This place has gone downhill. The coconut cinco de Mayo drink was disgusting. The tacos were so soggy this day as well. Tried to give them another chance a month later (today) and the Jamaican jerk chicken has no flavor. The chicken isn’t even the normal color it usually is. It’s normally dark with so much flavor and spice, and it’s the one thing I like from there because the bowl is always consistent no matter who cooks it. But, not today. Called to inform them of this and the manager argues that she just ate a Jamaican Jerk Chicken bowl and hers was fine/normal.

We went on cinco de mayo to get the margarita flights, the coconut margaritas tasted pretty bad but was worse was when we noticed some dead gnats in our drinks. I then noticed that there were actually quite a few gnats flying around the lights, so it doesn’t surprise me that 2 out of three of us in the group had gnats in our margaritas. At trukt you get one paper thin tortilla that rips right through while trying to pick it up. You guys charge $16 for 3 tacos and can’t afford a few extra tortillas? Cmon. I recently visited Truk’t Tacos in Beloit on a slow Friday night, hoping to enjoy one of my favorite dishes. Having previously worked there, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, my experience fell short.

The restaurant wasn’t busy, and the staff seemed distracted. Several people were just hanging out behind the bar, including the manager, Corin. My bartender, Zac, was friendly and attentive when taking my order, which I appreciated. However, after a runner dropped off my food, they vanished, and I struggled to get someone’s attention to request silverware and mention that the chicken in my dish looked like beef.

When I finally got a fork and tried it, it did taste like beef—old, dry beef. I let Zac know, and he assured me it was the jerk chicken I had ordered. If it was, it didn’t taste like it. The dish was unappetizing, so I put my fork down, clearly uninterested in eating more.

Eventually, Zac offered to replace the dish, but I declined, feeling frustrated and disappointed. However, what surprised me most was when he brought me the bill! I politely refused to pay for a dish I couldn’t eat, but there was no support from the manager to resolve the situation. I left feeling let down, especially since I had been looking forward to their rice bowl all day.

I hope Truk’t can address these issues, as I’ve enjoyed this restaurant in the past. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to the quality or service I expected.

We have been here multiple times, this was the worst. We were seated way in the back, even though there was plenty of space in the main area. There were no lights on in the back room above our table, I had to personally find the switch to turn them on. Once they took our drink order, it took quite some time to get the drinks, and it was long in between the waitress returning to ask if we wanted more. The weirdest part was they didn't clear anything off the table as we finished with it. Glasses, beer bottles, dirty plates etc. just sat there while we waited. Waitress couldn't remember who ordered which drinks.

The Jalapeno's did not seem to have chorizo in them and were kind of a soupy mess. It seems as though their queso recipe changed as well. Chips were really good and fresh. The quac was also good.

The tacos have CHANGED. First, only 1 tortilla which is impossible to keep anything on the taco unless you have 2 tortillas, which is pretty standard in street tacos. Second, the tacos weren't even on the right plates. I got my husbands pork belly and he got my surf n turf. The surf n turf steak was not good, super tough and fatty, its just not the same. My sister in law also had fatty meat in her surf n turf.

We paid $140 for below average tacos and apps. The service was very subpar. I don't know if I will be back and I am sad because this used to be my favorite place! CHANGE THINGS BACK THE WAY THEY WERE PLEASE!!

Sat in the restaurant for more than 2 hours for two entrees and one appetizer. I was handed dirty dishes and picked gnats out of our drinks. Our table had to flag down our waiter Angela who was quick to drop off the food and run off. Once the bill was dropped at our table the server disappeared again for another 15 minutes and returned another customer's credit card instead of our own. The waitress left the room so we had to approach other tables to look for our credit card. Eventually we found a staff member to get a manager who would not apologize for the situation but kept repeating they were busy and didn't have enough staff for the night. The back dinning room shouldn't have been open to more customers if they didn't have additional staff to accommodate guests. This restaurant would be embarrassing to work at and management does not monitor their dining room or support their staff. Almost $100 for the worst dinning experience I've had in years.

We came here when first opened and had long wait time. Understandable for just opening. Came tonight and waited over an hour to get 4 tacos. The tacos were delicious & the space & service was nice, but it is pricey for what you get. $16 for 3 tacos, no chips & salsa or rice & beans included. I realize things are expensive now, but almost every other taco place includes these things in the meal, often for less. I checked this out on a whim and my god it was delicious!

the staff were very friendly and had meaningful input on the food and drinks.

When you order tacos you can select 3 or 4 of the options they have, of which there are 16 or so and they all sound delightful and it can be hard to choose which ines you want.

The food was delicious, everything from the appetizers to the desserts were fantastic. the short rib taco was unbelievably tasty. all were varied in flavors and were distinct. each one had a unique flavour profile as opposed to some taco places that all more or less taste the same.

The drinks were reasonable priced and decently strong to boot. lots and lots of variety of whiskeys and tequilas. so many options its crazy and the staff had plenty to say as far as what they reccomend. you can also try some more pricey alcohols without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a bottle. that being said the Jonny walker blue label was good but probably not worth the price tag.

My only complaints are that some of the more expensive whiskeys and tequilas are VERY pricey. 1 oz of blue label is $32 and don julio 1942 is also about $32 an oz.

Overall the food is amazing and the mixed drinks are well worth the price. some of the whiskeys and tequilas are way to pricey to be worth it but if you are the kind of person to want to drink them then you probably won't care about the price tag. 9/10

What was good, was really good, but some of the tacos just didn't work for me. Was bummed out that I didn't order safer choices the first time I dined here. Overall, I only tried a few tacos fish, al pastor and duck and starters brussel sprouts and guac were both great and it was quite expensive for relatively small tacos. Like the name says, street tacos, strong whiskey and tequila offerings, and live music are the draw at this downtown corner location. The service is attentive and welcoming. We arrived with a larger group not long before closing and were immediately told there was no rush. The taco variety is full of international flavors, and the rest of the menu fills in the other potential menu needs for a group. The live music can be heard down the street, so don't plan on a conversation in the venue.

What a gem of a place! Came for a late lunch and had the tacos and Brussel sprouts...they were amazing! Decided on the Brussel sprout appetizer - huge portion! ( could have made a meal from that!!) We both had 3 street tacos each, different kinds. Perfect portions. Charred Brussels, Baja fish and Shrimp curry tacos for me. (Shrimp was a little spicy for me) Hubby had American BBQ, Korean BBQ and Short Ribs tacos... My sangria was refreshing. We dined here for the first time tonight and really enjoyed the food! When ordering multiple tacos you can mix the types, so I ordered Surf & Turf, Shrimp Curry and Baja Fish Tacos. All were uniquely wonderful tasting. I also ordered the drink special for the evening, a Blueberry Lemon Mint margarita.
The environment was a bit loud, but comfortable and visually appealing. We appreciated the walls open to the outside on this comfortable summer night.

This is a great place to get tacos. I recommend 4 for $18. It was one more than l needed but l wanted to taste the variety. I got the chicken tinga, pork belly, Korean BBQ beef and the baja fish. One was way to spicy for me but my husband would have loved it.

Their menu looked delicious but l just ordered the tacos. I would also have ordered a drink but was going back to my hotel to work so not sure l could have taken one with me.

This place needs adult supervision. went here last night with my wife, our waitress came up to us texting and putting her phone in her pocket. I ask about the Barbie margarita. she said," it's pink with no follow up description. I said it's our first time here with the reply of,"oh". 19 minutes to get a coca cola, with 12 ppl in the restaurant and 20 workers all of which were on their phones. one waitres walked by us literally facetiming. Over priced tacos, for the portion and they weren't that good. I couldn't get out of there fast enough don't waste your time or money on this place. Went up the street to Lucy's burgers way better experience. This place is run by kids with no sense of customer service. Went with a group of 12. Seated right away. The restaurant was not overly busy. Server took our orders. I ordered two chips and salsas for the tables and an order of three tacos. Chips didn’t come out until right before the food. Unfortunately my food (tacos) never came, also another person at the table never got her food either.
The server did not come back to check on us until we were wrapping up. Luckily one of my friends shared her nachos. When the server finally came to check on us she made no apology for not having our food. She offered no service recovery. No offer to comp a portion of my bill.
I really want to like this place! The atmosphere is great! I love the open walls and the location is super! And the drinks are very good too!
I understand things can go wrong, but the service could have been so much better! I have many servers and former servers in my family so I have a sympathy when it looks like things are going south for them. The food is amazing! The servers and staff are great. They have an infinite and creative bar menu. It's a cute place overall. The only drawback is how LOUD it is. It was impossible to converse without yelling, and even that doesn't work when a band is playing. The servers were apologizing when we couldn't hear them asking questions. Their corn tortilla tacos are wet on the bottom because they don't use "taco trays", which raise the tortillas up, in the perfect taco shape, and keep the underside of your much awaited tacos dry so that they aren't soggy in your hand....they are very tiny tacos btw...
