We found the place quite by chance. We were looking for someplace to go after hiking in Carver Roehl Park. We found it on the map and are very happy we did. Located on the shore of Turtle Lake it has great outdoor seating overlooking the lake. I had the TL Spicy Chicken sandwich was excellent. My wife had the Chicken
Quesadilla which was also excellent. We
also had a Mai Ti and Tipsy Turtle for
drinks. The staff was very friendly and
helpful.

We returned for a second visit. It was just as excellent as last time. This time I had a Cuban sandwich, which was quite tasty. My wife had the Cordon Bleu Chicken, which she loved. My side salad with lemon vinagarette dressing was excellent.

Brooke was our server and is a national treasure. She's waited on us twice in two weeks. Last time we were in sure was the only server and seemed to be the only thing holding the place together. She was great the second visit too.

Side salads are great. Had the chicken sandwich with pineapple once (very dry chicken but otherwise great) but this time came with my partner who has celiac and she loved getting a GF bun with her burger. We usually go to Lauderdale Landing but the GF options are why we came.

Delicious potato pancakes, similar to hash brown, but darker/crispier. coleslaw and service was good. Fridays fried cod had more batter than fish. The atmosphere for 4:30 was loud with patrons slamming a bar dice cup and yelling over each other. Some sound absorbing materials would be a good investment. I won't go back.

The new menu is great. We had the hummus appetizer. It was excellent. We had 3 new entrees, the Chicken salad sandwich, the Texas hold ‘em burger and the muffaletta. Everything was great. The staff is so friendly, especially Emily behind the bar and the Nakita the manager. We had no room for dessert but we took one home. Pastries by Chad does a great job! If I could give 0 stars, I would. We were at Turtle Lake Tap & Grill on a Saturday afternoon for a friend's birthday. Our table was the only one inside the restaurant, a few tables had guests on the patio. We waited 45 minutes for our food. The staff never checked on us between ordering and our food arriving. People from our table had to walk up to the bar to get a second round of drinks while we waited.

The bacon on my walleye sandwich was RAW. Pretty impressive considering we waited 45 minutes for the food. The burger served to the person celebrating their birthday was inedible. We did not complain to the staff at the time of our visit; we had had enough.

Owner offered us a $25 gift card over the phone when we later called in to complain. Kindly shove it.

We visited Turtle Lake Tap & Grill last Saturday celebrating a friend's birthday. We don't get out this way often and our group decided the menu looked good. We arrived around 6:30pm with only 2 other tables seated in the restaurant. We figured the service, and food wouldn't take too long because of the few tables. Boy were we wrong. Once we placed our drink order, it took 15 minutes for them to arrive. We had a few children with us, so their parents ordered for them first while the rest of the table decided on their meals. It took 10 minutes for our server (Morgan S.) to see our menus have been closed and we were ready for a while. Once we placed our order, we didn't see her until the food came, 45 minutes later. I'm not sure why the food took 45 minutes when there were only 2 other smaller tables. She didn't check in on drinks or let us know why our food was taking so long to cook when we didn't order difficult dishes to cook. She was too busy chatting with her co-workers at the server station (which we could see from our seats.) Our table had to proceed up to the bar to order drinks since she wasn't checking on us. When the food finally arrived, it was absolutely terrible. My husband's bacon on his sandwich was somehow half raw and cold, not sure how this could happen when our food took so long to cook. Once again Morgan S. didn't come back to check on the table until we were finished eating, giving us our checks. I don't usually complain at restaurants because I've worked in the service industry for over 15 years as a bartender, server, and manager. But in this instance, I called the next day to speak to a manager about our experience. The woman who answered the phone asked "she wants to speak to a manager, are you the manager?" Shouldn't she know who the manager on duty is? The gentleman who came to the phone was very nice and apologetic, saying he would have the GM give me a call the next day since he doesn't have authority to issue refunds. I received a call from the GM 3 days later, I explained our experience and that after this I wanted a refund since we don't live in the area. She said she would have to call the owner, but offered me a $25 gift card, which I denied trying to explain we don't live in the area. Once she called back, I was told I wouldn't be offered a full refund as I asked, instead the $25 gift card to cover the food cost was all I was being offered. ($25 didn't cover the food cost FYI) I once again explained I don't want a gift card, I wanted a refund for this experience. I was given the owner's (Jeff) phone number but was assured he would give me a call. She couldnt get me off the phone fast enough once she gave me his number. I am still waiting on this phone call, and when I tried to call him, no answer or return of my voice mail, same goes for the GM's number I called. As a hospitality manager, if a customer came to me with this type of complaint, I wouldn't hesitate to give a full refund, as the experience we had was unacceptable. I've also served larger tables and never left them to order their own drinks at the bar while I chatted with co-workers. Maybe writing this review someone will finally call me with the solution I asked for in the first place instead of being offered a gift card I don't want and frankly doesn't even cover half of our bill.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch on a Friday. I had the perch fry and my wife had the Mushroom and Swiss burger with truffle fries. Everything was fantastic. I'll say it's rare in my opinion that I get truffle fries and feel it was worth it over regular fries, but these were so tasty. Her burger was awesome and the perch was honestly the best I've had in a while. The food was way beyond what I expected. We will definitely be back.

This little gem was a treat! We rented an AirBnB at turtle lake and walked down for dinner. The staff was fantastic as everyone greeted us and was attentive to our service. I am super torn about reviewing this place. The food was wonderful! The staff was great. HOWEVER, be VERY CAREFUL if you are boating up to this place to have a nice lunch or dinner. There are NO MARKED SIGNS anywhere to park your boat, apparently they have 1 GUEST spot on a pier. There's no markings or signs of any kind. I mistakenly parked my boat on the wrong part of a pier (that looked like they are spots available to the Bar/Restaurant), and in the middle of our (delicious) dinner, a boater came up near where our boat was parked obviously upset. I ran out to solve the problem, and was met with EXTREME HOSTILITY. This turned into an all out screaming match between myself and the other boater and his wife. I was parked in the wrong spot, I admit that and I wanted to rectify the situation, but the other boater was not having any of that and was extremely pissed at me. I was down in 2 minutes of this boater pulling up to their pier spot, and it took a solid 5 minutes for anyone to help me figure out if they had any guest parking. The whole fight between the resident boater and my group had us fuming as well, we just got the check immediately and left the establishment.

TURTLE LAKE TAP & GRILL -- PLEASE PUT UP A SIGN WHERE GUESTS CAN PARK THEIR BOAT TO AVOID CRAZY CONFRONTATIONS WITH THE RESIDENTS/BOAT SLIP OWNERS IN FRONT OF ALL THE DINERS.

This wasn't a good look for the restaurant and anyone eating their dinner that night, and it left us with a bad taste in our mouths from it. We won't be returning as we don't want to run into Mr. Hostile and his wife.

On the other hand -- if you are driving your car here -- Enjoy! I don't think anyone cares which parking space you take up.

Food and staff were great, just need to give the boaters a place to park. 5 stars food, great wait staff! Bad for guest boaters!

A hidden gem! We stumbled upon this place and it was worth the wait. The cheese curds were delicious, my chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked. The little ones enjoyed their chocolate milk and meals but the big hit was the service. The staff were great. Super nice to the kids and patient too. The only down side was I needed to change my 2 month olds diaper and when I got into the bathroom there was nowhere to do it so I had to go out to my car instead. Other than that I would go back to eat here and recommend it to others. The view of the lake was a nice bonus and I bet it's even better in the summer.

We were excited to get a fish fry here this Friday. We were told to sit anywhere and someone would be right with us, which was completely not true. We were there for a BEAUTIFUL sunset on Saturday excited for the Apple Brandy old fashioned. Three of the four of us ordered them and unfortunately they were terrible. Turned around grabbed another water and out the door. It was that easy but didn’t get it until 4th time. Understand being short handed but these servers have multiple areas inside and out. Nothing offered discounted. Work on service please.

So I’ve had a couple experiences with the staff being under trained or lazy. I ordered a top shelf Long Island and the girl was using Jose Cuervo. When I asked “do you put Jose in top shelf?” She responded unless you want TOP top shelf?” She changed it out for a different tequila and proceeded to charge me $22 for one drink. Now last night I ordered the caprese pizza and very loudly stated “Can I please add CHICKEN with EXTRA chicken and pepperoccini?” She read it back to me and I ordered garlic knots and some other items. I asked if she could run my card to pay ahead since my brother in law was picking it up and it was an expensive order she said she didn’t know how. When I offered to walk her they how to she just hummed and said “oh I don’t know….” I suggested grabbing someone to help her and she said she was the only person available. When I received my order they forgot my side of ranch, the knots were unseasoned rocks that we didn’t eat, and the caprese had no chicken or pepperoccini peppers. When I called back I got no apology and she said “I’ll have them add the peppers.” I asked her double check to make sure it was correct she didn’t want to ask anyone else so I insisted and then when she did ask they no longer even had pepperoccini available. Customer service was terrible. The knots were served with a gross sauce and they forgot the ranch with our cheese curds.

The three stars was for the great view and nice waitress. We understand that they were limited on help so that is why the food was cold. The issue we had was prices weren’t the same on bill as it was on receipt. We were charged $11.99 for cheese curds and the menu said $9.99 same with the poppers and burgers the prices were 2-3 dollars more. We didn’t realize until we left. Perhaps they charge more on Saturdays. Will try again to see if it was a fluke.

This is a cute place we happen to run into. Hubby and I had the fish fry. I had perch which was very good. Hubby had the cod which was horrible. The price of a fish is around 23 dollars...THAT IS RIDICULOUS Highly doubt we will be back for their fpod

I have not been in this place in about 40 years. What an improvement it is now. Went there for fish fry and it was excellent. Had Quinn for a server who was very fun to chat with. We met the owner and the baker next door. It was a very friendly and comfortable place. I will be back!

This place was actually very great. I had the cheese curds to start and they were delicious. Then I had the fish fry which was also very good. Lastly I had a dessert of bread pudding that was a real monster of a dessert. It was amazingly good. I had Quinn Jr wait my table and he was great. The bartender was also amazing and named Jess I think. I'll definitely be back when it's warmer out.

My server Q, was amazing! Excellent environment, and the view is lovely. But we can't come back due to the pricing. $12 for a standard small-ish sandwich with no sides? Lake Geneva offers more for the same and I'm traveling further for the Turtle Inn. And yes, the kids running around, knocking into me & throwing around balloons was a little excessive.

Definitely go to Turtle Lake Tap & Grill when you are on the area. Our server Quin was so polite and knowledgeable. We had pub chips with a garlic aoli for an appetizer (yum) and Our Caprese Pizza and burger were both very good. The sunsets across the lake are pretty awesome too!

If you are looking for a place with an amazing lake view, this is it. Great set up as they have chairs on the beach (where they can serve you too). Their outdoor dining area should definitely be expanded because it seems to pack up quick and honestly I could just sit there for hours and watch the beautiful sunset. However their menu is pretty basic and lacking in quite a few areas.

We have been here twice now. The first time we went we sat outside and just enjoyed dinner and the sunset. We ordered the cheese curds for an appetizer and they were good. For dinner my husband had the steak quesadilla and I had the crispy chicken bacon sandwich. The quesadilla was good, my husband liked the pico a lot. But they only put about 4 slices of steak on the quesadilla. For a $13 quesadilla we would expect a little more meat. My chicken sandwich was good, chicken was cooked perfectly. There was only one strip of bacon and the chicken was much smaller than the bun it was on. We always try to give places the benefit of the doubt and the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great, so we knew we wanted to come back and give it another try.

We went here again and this time brought my parents. Again, beautiful night however no more seats left outside so we had to sit inside but luckily found seating right by the window. We order a few appetizers, the baked stuffed mushrooms and the artichoke dip. Both were tasty no complaints. I really wanted to try the pizza so I had gotten the sausage pizza ($12) and my husband got the steak au blue pizza ($15). Both our pizzas were cut in 8 slices and not even joking there was a small piece of meat on each slice of pizza. The sausage had great flavor and so did the steak but I would have much rather have had the chunk of sausage on each slice crumbled up on the whole pizza so each bit had some meat. I felt like I was eating a cheese pizza with a side of sausage. Again, for almost $30 worth of pizza I would have expected a lot more meat.

Giving three stars because the cocktails, beer, and appetizers were good. I think this is the place you go as a night cap but not for dinner/meal.

I lived above the tavern and grill late 80’s early90’s wish I made a home of Delavan looking back now that I’m older was the perfect place to raise a family . The owners were great ppl it was just a great place go visit I’m sure the atmosphere hasn’t changed much . I was told they used cranes to lift the modular home and set on top of turtle in beautiful place . Great people.

Every time I've been here I have to deal with children running around and being loud. I found out that a few of them are the owner's kids (or friends of the owner's kids) and he just doesn't even care that they're running around bothering all of his customers. Food was okay though.
