We always love stopping here for breakfast when we are fishing on the brule or out camping! You always leave full! I ordered a veggie omelet and he had French toast with fresh blueberries. We stopped in here while driving from Ashland to Duluth. I was simply looking for a restaurant with a large enough parking lot for our fifth wheel rv, but we got lucky and had a delicious lunch! Small town cafes are our favorite places to try in our travels. This cafe served a fresh, and delicious breakfast. The hash browns were perfection! It's hard to get perfectly prepared hash browns. Our waitress was excellent. Very clean and cute cafe. We did have a really long wait for our order. Signs say that's because they doing their part for the environment or something like that. 🤷‍♀️

I went up there for a work trip, and out of the 9 nights I was there I ate here. The food hits the spot, and the people there are so sweet. The older lady (owner) remembered me and made me feel so welcome. I had their Caesar chicken wrap, broasted chicken, and their brisket. The wrap was my favorite, but I chowed down literally everything they had. Their double layer cake is LIT. Their portions are quite large so be prepared for that but it's all worth it.

totally wonderful! we ate here (breakfast and dinner) a few times while visiting the area to hike because the food and atmosphere were well worth a return visit. everything was extremely hot, fresh, and delicious–truly classic wisconsin food done very well. definitely get some broasted chicken and pie!! furthermore, every employee was extremely warm and welcoming; we even had a chance to briefly chat with the owner/baker, who was amazing. you won't find a better spot anywhere.

edited two years later — we had not stopped thinking and talking about our meals here so we went way out of our way to return on another hiking trip in the region. the food was better than we remembered and the service was just as lovely. it is clean, friendly, and the food is hot and fresh. prices are incredibly reasonable. they prefer cash!! this is truly a destination restaurant in the northwest corner of wisconsin. everything you want and more. cannot recommend it strongly enough!!

Stopped in for a late lunch with my son when traveling through town.

He ordered a hamburger basket. Their homemade coleslaw was creamy and delicious.

I got the special for the day. A ham sandwich on a croissant with soup. I chose the white chicken chili. The sandwich, tasty and huge. & The chili was unbelievably good.

Their strawberry malt was very satisfying and hit the spot.

We had planned on ordering some of their homemade pie but were too stuffed.

The staff were very polite and attentive.

We'll definitely be back.

They have excellent home made pies that we always try to stop for when travelling through the area. Flavors included raspberry rhubarb, blueberry, strawberry rhubarb, blueberry rhubarb and many other that were non-fruit, and some cakes on our most recent trip. We also enjoyed breakfast there many times. Their veggie omelette and pancakes are good. The oatmeal was very large in portion size but a bit too dry for our taste.

We stopped in for the Friday night fish fry, it was excellent! The food came out fast and fresh and was very affordable. We ordered a cup of soup (bean and ham), and it was incredible. It definitely tasted homemade, like it had been slow simmering, developing flavor all day, very good way to start a meal! The pollock was cooked perfectly, still moist and tender. The tartar sauce that comes with it is one of the best tartar sauces I have ever had. It's bright and creamy with lots of dill and compliments the well seasoned fish perfectly!
We were full at the end, but decided to try the homemade desserts, we started with cheesecake and it was so good we had to try a second dessert, so we ordered the butterscotch heath pie, both were excellent. You definitely can't leave here without trying one of their many homemade desserts.
All of the staff were incredibly friendly. The owner was walking around talking with tables, making you feel like you were in your mother's kitchen. We really enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely be back.

I stopped here passing through for supper on 6/7/24. I took a seat and was promptly greeted by a friendly server. I had the two pieces fish dinner. The food was awesome. I stopped early on Friday night and it was getting busy by 5pm. Unlike most resteraunts anymore they actually have pie and it's terrific pie. The crust is homemade and I know the blueberry filling was homemade. They have a full desert cabinet full of a variety of homemade deserts. I bought 3 to go and they were all terrific. All the people were friendly and the food fabulous. It is a real Cafe worthy of praise.

We stumbled across this restaurant while driving home from Calgary to Ontario. It was busy, which is usually a good sign and we soon found out it was fish Friday night. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was excellent. My husband ordered the trout and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I left my prescription sunglasses on the table and by the time I realized it we were in Michigan. I called and Sherri mailed them to me at no cost, telling me to pay it forward. Amazing!!

This place is truly amazing. Theresa was our server and she couldn’t have been better. Prompt service, smiling faces, attention to tables before and after the meals.

We had 12 of us for breakfast no reservation and we’re sat down immediately. It seemed that everyone in town comes here as the place was filled. Coffee was never less then a half a cup, I had biscuits and gravy with two eggs over easy that was just what I was looking and hoping I would receive. We asked Theresa if the corned beef was fresh made in house and she looked at us puzzled with the expression of “what else do you think we would do?”

The county fried steak one of our group was “the best and freshest I have ever eaten”. I didn’t try it, but I can tell this thing was the solid deal. Soaked in buttermilk and Crispy batter dipped served with incredibly fluffy eggs and hash browns so crispy and perfectly seasoned.

I could go on here about the breakfast but I think you get it…

Their is also a bakery in the restaurant as well where I seen a raspberry rhubarb pie and a blueberry pie that still honestly has steam coming off it…. They looked like they would easily be the blue ribbon winner at any country fair..
