Each dish seemed to have something missing about it, but they were fine. The special I had was weird and unexpected, gnocchi with mushrooms but no type of sauce. The server was friendly.

We ate here for the first time on a Saturday night with another couple visiting from out of town. We were seated around 7:15 and noticed immediately how long it took our server to get to our table to put in drink orders. The cocktails were great and we ordered two appetizers, the flatbread and the brie. The flatbread was very good, but really small for the price tag imo, and the brie was a miss for me. It was a little round of brie served in a ramekin with some green grapes underneath in a watery mess. The grapes and honey should have been served up separate to add onto the brie once smeared onto your crostini. Soup and salad came pretty fast after our appetizers and were all very good. After soup/salads our drinks sat empty for too long, it was even a point of discussion at our table. I had to wave down our server to put in more drink orders. We then waited A LONG time for our dinner. While the place was bustling when we arrived, by the time our dinner came, we were down to 3 tables in the main dining area. My friend's pork tenderloin was overdone, leaving her unimpressed. The short rib was enjoyed by the husbands that ordered it, and I was unimpressed with my scallops. For $32 I got 3 small/medium sized scallops surrounded by LOTS of chorizo and corn. This dish should be a chorizo dish, not a scallop dish as they were not the star of the show. While the flavors were good, I just didn't think the price justified the dish. We skipped dessert since it was already close to 9:30 and we were frankly sick of sitting there for so long. Overall I don't think we will be back. It was good, but nothing "wowed" us and the the service was sluggish to the point that our time there seemed to crawl on forever (while our server was very pleasant it seems they were severely understaffed).

Excellent locally sourced food. Unique cocktails. My husband and I dined at Twisted Willow on a Tuesday. Appetizers were delicious. My husband had the chorizo pasta and I had the shrimp pad Thai for our entrees. Both were exceptional. We had the strawberry chocolate cake and the lemon cheesecake. Both were homemade and superb. Highly recommend the Twisted Willow. Their happy hour is exceptional. Definitely worth the drive from Manitowoc for us!

Decent food, poor service. This restaurant doesn’t have Air conditioning so on hot summer days it is sweltering inside, does not set the mood for a pleasant experience. We got there early and went to their small bar area, where 2 couples were already sitting. It took 10 minutes before the bartender asked for our order, then served me a dirty martini without any olives garnishing my drink. When we were seated at our reserved time, it took 20 minutes for anyone to come to our table. This is not a large establishment either. We ordered several apps, and some were good, like the chipotle shrimp and garlic pretzels, but the soup was mid and so was the bruschetta. The entrees were ok, probably led by the short rib, and the steak. But the chorizo rigatoni and other dishes were very mediocre. The staff was all female as is the ownership, vibe was uneasy at best, kept touting things like gluten free which meant nothing to us. Hard pass on this place.

We got takeout cheesecake for dessert and I only ended up with one bite because my husband devoured most of it 🤣 that one bite was delicious. They had seasonal lemon cheesecake. The cheesecake was cooked to perfection, the lemon curd topping was tart with a hint of sweet, and the lemon icing/whipped cream was sweet and creamy and very lemony. I hope to come back for a meal as I’ve heard their food is delicious!

Absolutely loved the food. The mushroom stroganoff had a herbaceous taste that made it one of the best. We also enjoyed the nightly special, a bavette over mashed potatoes with a sauce...spectacular! But what really sealed the deal, our waitress, Keri, was amazing.

The chicken Marsala was spectacular. We got it with rice to be gluten free and the flavor was amazing with the most tender chicken! Even leftover reheated it was so good leaving us want more! The apple walnut salad was amazing!! Such a unique blend of ingredients I’ve never had on a salad: fig, apple, candied walnuts and buratta! I swapped my dressing for the maple balsamic. We also got the short rib which we didn’t love. It was okay but the other things were just SO good comparatively. Service was excellent as well. Never had to ask for refills.

Very pleasant, quiet and tasteful dining experience. Menu is thoughtful and varied but not overly complicated. Were were greeted immediately by Wendy, who had very helpful suggestions and was perfectly attentive. We started with the bruschetta (excellent) and had the French onion soup (delicious, though the bread was like a rye bread). My hamburger was cooked perfectly, and it was juicy and delicious. Fantastic dining. The hot tea was also wonderful.

My wife and I dined here Tuesday night, all I'm going to say is the first piece of hair I pulled out of my mouth from the appetizer I assumed it was my wifes the 2nd piece was clearly a different color then hers and the end of our dining experience at Twisted Willow. Unfortunate that the manager couldn't even stop by and express their apologies. Really felt bad for the waiter Will. What do you say to that and will no support from the rest of the staff. We paid for the drinks and don't think we will ever be back. Still gaging after pulling 2 very long hairs out of my mouth. Absolutely disgusting. I recommend not ordering the spinach dip or should I say the hairy spinach dip. UHLG... still grossed out by it.

The food and service was outstanding. We had oysters, salads, and I had the beef and mushroom tenderloin pasta. Very tender. My husband had the prime rib and it was cooked perfectly. We spoke with the chef later and I sang praises, and he gave us some good tips for seeing the town. All in all, a delightful evening.

My wife and I stopped in for an early dinner, we were seated immediately. I had the chicken piccata, my wife had the mushroom stroganoff. Chicken piccata is one of my favorite dishes that I often order when I find it on the menu, The Twisted Willow's version was fantastic. The sauce was delicious, the chicken cook perfectly with a nice crunch. My wife said her stroganoff was very good also. The portion sizes were good (I'm a lighter eater) so we both will be enjoying leftovers for lunch today. The service was excellent, the food came out quickly.

I’ve never left a negative review before but in this day and age of less discretionary income, I feel the need to be honest. We went to the Twisted Willow for my birthday. I’ve been there years ago and had wonderful experiences. We had a 5:30 reservation and finally got our dinner at 7:15 after multiple tables who arrived after us were served. The waitress came over several times to say it was coming and then told us the “owner” was coming to talk to us and maybe give us “something.” Also, our first round of cocktails was dropped before making it to the table. We are a foodie family and frequent nice restaurants. When the kitchen gets slammed, we have always been comped a round of drinks or bread service to tide us over. Those small things stop a bad review because it makes the customer happy. We were offered nothing. I’m super sad with this experience because it was a special night and I can tell the owner wants to do better, but the staff are struggling.

We are new to the area and this restaurant was recommended by a relative and a friend. We were welcomed by the wonderful host (we didn’t get her name but she was nice!) and Eric! Dan, our server was great. He made sure we were taking our time with ordering our food and suggested delicious items on the menu. We had the specials - NY Strip and Bouillabaisse for entrees - which were delicious in their own way. Cocktails were good too-Sidecar & Tequila Moonrise. Now for dessert, Dan suggested to try the Creme Brûlée and let us say that it was the best one that we have tried yet! We also tried the Black Forest Cake which was delicious too! We highly recommend visiting Twisted Willow when you are in the area. We can’t wait to go back again! Thank you for a wonderful first time experience!

I want to like this place. But it’s frankly way too expensive. 18$ burger, 26$ pasta, 13$ drinks? That’s Chicago prices… in Port. Every couple years we try it again, and now I think we’ve had our last visit. Gone are the days of a fun cocktail “book”. Now you get 5-7 tired cocktails that are marginally inspired, and cost 11-13$. The atmosphere is stuffy and just awkward. There has to be some sort of value here, for anyone to be a “regular”. There just isn’t. 3 people with one drink each and an adequate tip was 160$. For pasta and fish. And it took over 1.5 hours…
Port desperately needs a restaurant that isn’t primarily a bar, and that doesn’t just reheat Sysco food. Sadly, this isn’t it. Steerage or Singing Salmon (if they’re ever open) are way better choices. Otherwise you have to leave Port, to get value and quality.
18$ for a "double" of Blade and Bow is ridiculous. Right now, you can buy a 750ml bottle at full retail for 46$. Thats about 16 singles or obviously 8 doubles... 8x18$ is 144$. I get it, there must be a markup. But cmon, I can't know their distributor costs, though I have to assume its less than what I pay at retail. So they profit 100-120$ off a bottle of BnB? Cmon. For what? Pouring it into a glass?
For the young ones out there... believe it or not, there was a time when we could go out for a cocktail and a burger of decent quality, and it would cost less than 25$. lol. Way less. Contiuing to enable this establishment only makes it worse. I truly hope Port can find a place that can make dining out afforable for those that live there, in "Your Home Port". And I don't want to hear "its the economy stupid" or "inflation is a thing". Sure, maybe. Othere places make it work though. And Blade N Bow has been the same price for the better part of a decade. 26$ for chorizo and pasta is borderline robbery.

We have been to The Twisted Willow quite a few times, but this might just be our last. It was our 45th Anniversary, and our son had arranged for a gift certificate to be at our table when we arrived! That was such a wonderful surprise, and we were seated at a lovely window-side table! Our enthusiasm was festive for this special day of ours! Order was taken, things arrived timely, but then we realized our dinner had been delivered to the table next to us! So, that couple pointed out the error, and the food was removed after a bit. Shortly, that same food was delivered to us. When it arrived, it was luke warm! When our waitress asked how everything was, we mentioned our concern, and she was rather defensive. We ate half our meal, took the rest home, paid our bill. No acknowledgement of the errors or our anniversary! We both left feeling quite disappointed!

Wonderful view of Lake Michigan. My ancestors settled in this area (Belgium, WI....Ronks and Hirns) from Germany so it was an extra treat to visit this area. The food was fabulous!! We don't mind paying a bit extra for a meal that is truly special, as this one was. We absolutely hate going out to eat and thinking... I could have done better at home....not the case here. Enjoy!
Back in April 2023…. Could have done better at home with as our chicken Marsala didn’t have much or any Marsala flavor, The fried oyster mushroom appetizer was very good, clam chowder seemed cut with chicken stock. Presentation very nice, cook of meat done well, service great, flavor meh.

Expensive for subpar food. Maybe the doctor owners (it's owned by a couple doctors) should do a checkup on their menu because it's stale and dying. The ambience was nice but the layout is weird and uncomfortable. A little packed (tight, not crowded). It was okay, nothing special. I would recommend dinner if you go there.

Had surf and turf and shrimp scampi. Taste was great, presentation great, portions on the small side.
Nice place for a special occasion.
Only criticism is that they covered their cloth table covers with a sheet of paper.

Very friendly and welcoming hostess. Our waitress was very accommodating. My New York Strip was very good. My husband had the Surf n Turf. The surf was shrimp instead of lobster. The food is very good but pricey and that is why we do not go often. One area of opportunity is for them to bring back the fresh baked bread. Just because you threw bread away and decided to discontinue it because of that, ask your customer's instead if they would like bread with their meal. Overall a very nice experience.

Front of house nailed it. Our waitress Wendy was great! The crab cake appetizer and soups were great. The linguine and sauce were excellent, but the chicken in it was completely unseasoned. Our salmon entrée was also unfortunately undercooked. Overall good experience, would definitely give it another shot!

A very fine place to dine down town port. Never a bad experience. Food is great. Waitstaff is amazing. This place has had its fair share of struggles but still comes out on top.

From the initial interaction you can tell there staff is all about you. The special was lamd and bison meat balls with Couscous and the balsamic dressing was perfect. Cindy had the Walleye and she said it was perfect along with fresh vegetables seasoned just right. I honestly can't come up with anything to suggest. We'll be back.

Walked in without reservations, but were lucky enough to get a spot at the bar. Tiffany and Rick made the experience even better than having a table for four.

Yummy!!! We've been in eastern WI this past week, and Twisted Willow was by far the best we had to eat this week. Everything we had was good, most of it was EXCEPTIONAL!!! My wife had the truffle Mac and Cheese, kids had Risotto and Balsamic Chicken, and I had Fish Fry (Friday in WI, gotta have a fish fry!!!!). Everything we sooooo goooood. The only thing that didn't "pop" was their version of clam chowder. Don't get me wrong, it was good: fresh, clean flavors; but wasn't at the same level as EVERYTHING else.
I have never had potato pancakes before, which came with the fish, and I couldn't get enough of them. wow! The risotto was perfect; the mac and cheese was nice and gooey and delicious; the chicken was perfectly done and the flavors played together oh so well.
If you are going to be in the area, call a couple days ahead and get a reservation. You will NOT regret it!

Food and service was excellent. We used to dine here years ago and It was good... Then things changed and we stopped going. This evening we decided to give it a try. SUCH A SWEET SUCCESS. From the call for reservations to our delicious meal. The menu has finally changed, and from our service by Dan to our meal cooked by Chef Chris, Also not to forget the bartenders to the sweet hostess. Everyone was so accommodating. Finally we are so excited to bring guests back to this restaurant. We had salmon and Coconut shrimp and cremebule for dessert. Really a great experience, from start to finish. We will be back!

One of the best dinner experiences I've ever had. The restaurant is clean and beautifully designed, and the large windows facing the main street make for a lovely ambience. All of the staff, especially our server were professional and friendly. My wife and I enjoyed an anniversary dinner full of excellent dishes. Thanks for an excellent night! Pictured is the walleye, peach bruschetta special, and peanut butter creme brulee special.
